Access your menu with the start button too. If you equip an item in your tool slot you can use it on the map with the triangle button. If you have more than one sword you can switch between them with L1 an R1, you can also use sword magic with the circle button. The start button pauses during boss fights. Jump Attacks - There are three main types of attacks in this game, the normal sword swing, then the jumping swing which entails pressing the attack button while sailing into the air, and finally the downward stab which is performed by pressing the square button as you fall down from a jump. The Dash Slash - THe dash slash is preformed with a quick tap in the direction you want to slash, and then press the square button almost immediately after. It is easiest to do with the D-pad, tap a direction, wait a split second (not immediately) and then tap the square button. This is the dash slash. The Dash Jump - Everybody's favourite move they love to hate. First you must master the dash slash technique, if you do that it really isn't that hard to get this. Rather than pressing the square button to do the dash slash, press the square button and then the jump button right afterward, press the two buttons so instantaneously that you are almost hitting them at the same time, but you MUST hit the square button first. A very large jump follows. O============================================================================O | Cheats (02000) | O============================================================================O To get to the cheat code activation area select New Game and then choose Cheat. Here you will find three coloured pedestals you must slash in order to input the codes. Once they are used, do a downward stab on the centre panel. Cheat Mode - (Red-1, Blue-1, Yellow-1, Red-1, Blue-1, Yellow-1) - This cheat must be used before any of the other cheats can be used. Clear Flag ON - (Red-4, Blue-4, Yellow-4, Blue-2, Yellow-2, Red-2) - This turns on the "flag" that makes it seem as if you already beat the game. Time Trial mode is unlocked as is the Nightmare difficulty, also some save points are now red and allow you to warp to the towns to save time. CG Mode Subtitled - (Yellow-1, Red-4, Blue-1) - Changes the voice overs to Japanese and leaves the English subs and CG cutscenes in tact. Anime Mode English - (Yellow-2, Red-2, Blue1) - Leaves the voice overs in English but changes the CG cutscenes to the original anime cutscenes. Anime Mode Subtitled - (Yellow-2, Red-4, Blue-1) - Changes the voice overs to Japanese and changes the CG cutscenes to anime cutscenes. O============================================================================O | Full Walkthrough (00000) | O============================================================================O Before starting the game you may want to check out the cheats section, you can activate the original PC version cutscenes which are actually much better. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Rehdan Village | | (00001) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o The game begins in a small village, with you | | just waking up. You can explore the village | None......................./ | all you want, there are numerous people to | | talk to. The first thing you should do is o------------------------------o leave the little room and you start in and go North. Speak to Olha praying beside the large rock formation. You can ask her numerous questions about various things relating to this area. Now leave and go down into the village. One person worth o- Kevin's Shop ---------------o noting is Kevin who will sell you some | | things, though it's nothing you can really | Titonuts..................30 | afford at the moment. Make your way from | Honey....................100 | house to house speaking to all the people | Herb.....................400 | you come across to get to know the area, and | Kamio Flower..............40 | familiarize yourself with the controls. | Hard Leather.............100 | When you think you're adequately prepared, | | go to the South end of the village. A quick o------------------------------o scene and then you're free to leave. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Woods of Quatera | | (00002) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o First thing you'll see on your left is a | | save point, be sure to save your game name | Honey.................._____ | because avoiding death in this game isn't | Herb..................._____ | always easy. Right away you'll come to a | Livart Sword..........._____ | fork, take the East path here and follow it | Wooden Bracelet........_____ | deeper into the forest. Eventually you'll | | find yourself coming into contact with your o------------------------------o first enemies, they're nothing to be afraid of at first, but you quickly realize that not all of them are easy to dispatch. Keep going until you reach the first flower enemy, just beyond it is a fork in the path. Head down until you reach two flowers, now there's a thin hidden path leading West. Open the chest at the end to receive 'Honey.' Now go back up to the top of this map and exit to the Northeast. Here you'll fight some rather nasty large horned enemies as well as some flying ones. Be careful here, it's very easy to get yourself killed. Head North and speak with the village chief beside the bridge. Return to the previous map, and then the one before that. Go down and you'll find another path that goes East. Make your way East along this one to reach the Fountain of Prayer. Be sure to use the save point here before going up to meet with Olha. Now you have to return to the village again, not the village itself, but at least the path right below it. Save your game and proceed West this time. Take the North branch at the fork, then go right at the next one. At the Northeast corner of this map you'll find a chest with 'Herb' inside. Backtrack a little and exit this map to the Southwest. Speak to the girl. Use the save point below the village once again. There's a boss battle coming up so if you have the 100G it would probably be a good idea to go back and buy that Hard Leather from Kevin. Now it's back to the Fountain of Prayer. Save your game and then take a few steps up, prepare yourself for a fight. O=====================O------------------------------------------------------o | Demi-Galba | | O=====================O Get ready for your first boss fight, it's a pretty | | HP: 200 | straightforward battle. The boss has two attacks, | O=====================O he swings his arm down at you, this is easy to dodge | | since he pulls back to indicate it's coming, then | | you can just jump downward to avoid it. He also has a fire breath attack | | that is a bit harder to avoid since it can almost come out of nowhere. | | He either does it in one place or pans it from one side to the other. | | Always keep moving during the fight so you can be ready to run out of the | | way of the stationary one, and prepared to jump down in case it goes from | | one side to the other. In terms of offense your best is the jumping spin | | attacked which is performed by jumping and attacking as you go up. | | | o----------------------------------------------------------------------------o After the battle you are automatically brought back to the village. Speak to the chief in his house when he tells you to. Since your sword was shattered the chief gives you the 'Livart Sword.' Leave the village and return to the Fountain of Prayer. On your way there you are interrupted by a quick little scene and receive the 'Wooden Bracelet.' Be sure to go into your menu and equip it in the accessory slot. Cross over the wrecked wall to the cave. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Mythos Path | | (00003) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o The first thing to do is drop down into that | | large hole in front of you. Grab the chest | Honey.................._____ | on the upper right side to get some | | 'Honey.' Leave this room and then enter the o------------------------------o door beside the stairs between the two fountains. Strike the emblem on the door to open it. Now in the next room you'll run into someone who just happens to want to fight you. It's not really a boss but it's almost as difficult, be very offensive in this fight to try and keep him from attacking so, slash and slash even if he's defending you'll eventually get through but you'll probably have to use a healing item or two. Since you can't open the door head to the right and go down. Follow the linear path until you come to a room with a staircase. Ascend it to reach to the cave exit. Once you're out, head up and follow the road North, save your game and enter Port Rimorge to the Southeast. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Port Rimorge | | (00004) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Start off by going to the inn on your right, | | there are tons of people there making it a | Map of Canaan.........._____ | great place to gather information. You | Letter to Baslam......._____ | should have at least five Emelas by now | Seed of Power.........._____ | (those little blue things below your money | | bag at the bottom of the screen) so head to o------------------------------o the old-fashioned hut on the West side of town to find someone inside who will upgrade your sword for you. Enter the shack on the Southeast side of town and speak to the old man in there, not that you really have a choice once you're inside. You can o- Cloa's Shop ----------------o ask questions of him if you want, when you | | leave he gives you the 'Map of Canaan.' | Titonuts..................30 | There are two shops in this town, Cloa's and | Honey....................100 | Rose's. Cloa is around the middle of town | Herb.....................400 | at a stall just outside the large wall. | Wild Fowl Meat..........1500 | Rose is through the arch beside it. If you | Blue Potion.............8500 | can afford either the Round Shield or Ring | Kamio Flower..............40 | Mail then both would make solid purchases. | Oroi Fruit...............200 | Just remember to equip them after buying. | Limurian Mushroom........300 | | | Now you can continue the game or you can do o------------------------------o a little optional bit first. One of the men who you met after coming out of the Mythos o- Rose's Shop ----------------o Path is standing near the broken bridge on | | this side (which is South of the cave | Round Shield.............410 | entrance.) Speak to him and then run all | Kite Shield.............4600 | the way back through the cave, through the | Ring Mail................670 | forest to the other side of the broken | Breast Plate............6200 | bridge. Speak to the man there who gives | Magic Talisman..........1300 | you the 'Letter to Baslam.' Now return to | Silver Armlet.........20,000 | Port Rimorge with the letter in hand. | | o------------------------------o Enter the large building at the top of the stairs, to the right of the inn. Speak to the man in the room through the door with red curtains. After talking to him once talk to him again if you got the Letter to Baslam and he'll reward you with '30 Gold.' It's a bit of a trip but you can get the second half of your reward by returning and speaking to the man who gave you the letter. He gives you a 'Seed of Power.' Back in Port Rimorge there's not really anything left so exit the town to the East. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Canaan Plain | | (00005) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Now here is you first chance to do some | | serious levelling. What you're going to | Wild Fowl Meat........._____ | want to do is level yourself up 3-4 times as | | well as getting your sword to level four. o------------------------------o This will be important for the upcoming area you have to face. While doing this exit the map to the West. Jump from island to island in a big C shape and it will bring you down to another entrance to the map you were just on, except lower. Take the exit and open the treasure chest to receive 'Wild Fowl Meat.' Your true destination lies to the North. You need to cross three large maps before you eventually reach it. Keep going until you reach a save point. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Grana-Vallis Mountain | | (00006) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Head North and begin the long climb up. The | | enemies in this area are very powerful and | Herb..................._____ | very dangerous at first, but your level will | Bandit's Mail.........._____ | shoot up quickly. Jump up the cliff on the | Wing of Alma..........._____ | right side then head over to the left and | Rehdan Shield.........._____ | hop up one level higher. This leads you to | Blue Tabulas..........._____ | a room with a chest containing 'Herb.' Go | Sylphen Boots.........._____ | back to the previous area and take the exit | Blirante..............._____ | to the Southeast. Jump from platform to | Thief's Glove.........._____ | platform as you make your way East in this | Seed of Defense........_____ | area. A couple things to note, the flowers | | are incredibly good for collecting Emelas o------------------------------o and the little exploding pods you find on the ground are incredibly good for building experience. Use both of them and don't hesitate to head back to the village if you want to level up your sword to level five, it will really come in handy (level five takes 88 Emelas.) Make your way through this area back to the outside again. Now as you're ascending up the platforms in this area, halfway up there's a path leading down to the South. Follow it to reach a chest which will increase your accessory slots by one when you open it up. Continue up to the cave entrance at the top. Make your way up to the West exit and be sure to save your game at the save point. Head West and enter the cave. Now in this area, jump up onto the small platform near the top, then up again to reach the cliff on the right. It's not a difficult task to jump across from here to the other side. Open up the treasure chest to receive 'Bandit's Mail' which you should definitely equip immediately. Drop down and keep going North. Note that the enemies in this area which attack you from underground can only be damaged by performed the downward stab. Take the north exit again in the next area and get ready to other attack like crazy or hide because there are more than a dozen of those kamikaze land mine enemies here. When they're all taken care of your can open the treasure chest to find 'Wing of Alma' inside. Go back and head left to trigger a scene. You simply need to defeat a few normal enemies here, as I mentioned before the downward stab is the way to do it. Talk to the young boy after you have dispatched the enemies. Run all the way to the far East end of this section, drop off the stone platforms on purpose and open the chest to get the 'Rehdan Shield.' Climb back up and hop across the stone platforms to reach a large wall. Start scaling it back and forth then go through the cave door at the top. Now in this area you have the option of taking a bit of a trip. You'll notice that the stones on the wall on your right don't completely block the entire ledge, there is an area you can drop down at the top. If you choose to drop down you will land in an area with some normal enemies and a chest containing 'Blue Tabulas.' Leave this room and go down to the lower left to find a chest with 'Sylphen Boots' inside. Now return to the drop section. Take the North exit and run over to the East side to find an opening leading South. From here it's just a matter of running across the bridge to find another save point inside the cave area. Jump up to the top of this cliff and get the 'Mirror Fragment' off the ground. Then something else occurs... O=====================O------------------------------------------------------o | Zonplas | | O=====================O Well now here's a boss that's no pushover. He's got | | HP: 800 | a number of attacks and most of them are pretty | O=====================O deadly. First of all his normal attack is actually | | his deadliest, he jams his claw into the ground and | | damages you if you're anywhere near it, and you don't have a lot of time | | to get away if you are up close attacking. The second one is when he gets | | to a corner and starts firing energy balls, this is the easiest to dodge | | all you do is run to the opposite side and wait it out. Finally once the | | boss has taken enough damage is starts throwing little rocks that you need | | to knock off the edge before they turn into firefly enemies that attack | | you while you're trying to fight the boss. Attack it with the single | | jumping spin slash, it should be doing between 15-20 damage per hit if | | your level is good, and critical hits will only speed things up. | | | | | o----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Once you wake up you may notice a sword planted in the ground above you. Approach it and pick it up to receive the 'Blirante.' You can now cycle between swords with the L1 and R1 buttons. Now return to the bottom of the mountain and save your game. When you arrive again in Port Rimorge a scene automatically occurs at the old man's house. Leave the town via the Northwest exit and talk to Xaxon, he tells you that there are monsters in the way and he can't get to the bridge so head in that direction. Destroy the dangerous spinning flowers. Go at them aggressively and you should be able to keep them stunned enough so that they don't let out their spinning death arms. For some reason I had to use the original sword because it wouldn't recognize them as dead with the fire sword, so you may have to do the same. Speak to Xaxon again and he'll tell you to talk to Lloyd. Lloyd is standing just outside Baslam's room. Speak to him to get the 'Thief's Glove.' That's it for now. Head back through the Mythos Path to the other island. On the beach you can find Isha standing on the beach, and she has more than a few interesting things to say. After that go back to the village and talk to Olha who is praying at the large rock formation. Talk to her twice and on the second time she gives you 'Seed of Defense.' Now you need to return to the Mythos Path but not go all the way through. If you remember that door you couldn't open where you fought the guy with the halberd, now that you have the fire sword you can strike the emblem and open the path to the Ruins of Amnesia. Now that you have the Wing of Alma you can start the Alma's Trials sidequest by selecting it from your inventory and using the option to "Warp." Check out Alma's Trials sidequest section for more details on the entire thing. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Ruins of Amnesia | | (00007) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Save your game at the save point to start, | | then head into the ruins. Now here's where | Wild Fowl Meat........._____ | it gets extremely annoying. You can fall | Capla Water............_____ | off the edge pretty much anywhere in this | Galba Hand............._____ | area. There are even some enemies with big | Eldian Orb............._____ | laser beams designed to knock you off. | Bloody Nail............_____ | These enemies are stationary and can be | Mirror Fragment........_____ | dealt with pretty well with a downward stab. | Ericcil................_____ | When you come to a fork go right and down | Rainbow Fragment......._____ | the stairs. Follow the path West and jump | Red Tabulus............_____ | across to find a chest with 'Wild Fowl | Emel Mallet............_____ | Meat' inside. Climb the North stairs and | Gratios Talisman......._____ | head East but stop near the door. You'll | Capla Water............_____ | notice those spikey railings don't extend | Heavy Belt............._____ | as far on the bottom as they do on the top, | | there's a little space you can drop though o------------------------------o on the lower one. Drop through that little crack and you'll land right beside a chest containing 'Heavy Belt.' Make your way back up to the top and return to where you dropped, head thorugh the door o nthe right. This is just a simple linear path leading East into the next room. There you will find a fork right when you start. Take the right branch and get ready for one of the most annoying things in the universe. First of all destroy that stupid laser pod. Now you have to learn to use the dash jump if you haven't already. To dash jump there are numerous different explanations and like many I'm going to explain it the way it works for me. First of all when doing the dash jump you cannot have the direction button pressed in any direction, and the easiest way I find to move the analog quickly and reset it is not the use the analog at all. A quick tap on the D-pad works great. Now let me start by explaining the button combo. Here's what you have to do. Tap the direction you want to jump on the D-pad, then press square, then X. Now here's the thing, timing is extremely important. You must put a delay between the D-pad and the square button, in fact that just does the dash slash so you might want to practice that first. Press the direction, wait a split second, and then press the attack button. Now try doing the exact same thing, but instead of pressing square press square and circle at the same time. Technically it shouldn't be at the same time, do it so that you hit both buttons, but you hit the square button slightly before the X button, but the delay between should be almost zero. Once you've mastered the dash jump get ready to use it. You cannot reach that platform on your right without it, dash jump to get over to it. Obviously it's going to mean a lot of falling down but it's quick and easy to get back here, just climb to the top and make a right. Now when you're on that second platform you actually have to land on the pillar in the middle. Stand in the exact centre of the platform you're on, not on the edge or you'll overshoot. Use the dash jump and if you're lucky you'll land on the pillar. Dash jump once more to reach the other side, and then normal jump to the next one. Do a dash jump upward to land on the treasure box platform and open it to get the 'Capla Water.' Now head back to the entrance of this room, jump across and follow the path down. The path curves East, and at the corner where it turns South look on the right and you'll see four pillars, three of which are broken. Use the dash jump and land in the centre of these pillars and drop down. You should land on a platform with a chest containing 'Galba Hand.' From here to a dash jump North to land on a small platform in the wall, then go into the room. There is a super difficult boss you cannot defeat here, however there is a chest on the opposite side of the room containing 'Eldian Orb.' Keep trying over and over until you get it, dying just means you restart in this very room. Now head to the top and follow the main path toward the very end where you can jump North to a small platform, then you'll see a treasure chest above you. It's a big gap but using the dash jump you can reach it, when you open the chest you get the ability to equip another accessory. Now head through the door above it. Now get reacdy for another one of the hardest things in the universe. If you check the right edge of this platform you can see a chest on the other side of the staircase. Now to get to this you need to dash jump and land on a pillar under the stairs which you can't even see, then dash jump from there over to the chest. Personally it must just be coincidence but I find it easier to do with the first sword, I don't seem to bounce back as much when I hit my head on the stairs doing the jump. If you fall (and fall you shall) climb back up, climb the stairs and drop down the little opening on the left at the top to reach the platform where you can try the jump again. If you manage to make it across to the chest you'll find the 'Bloody Nail' inside which restores HP each time you kill an enemy, so it is worth the trouble. Anyway when you're ready climb the central staircase and head North. Follow the path around to a large room full of boiling magma. Jump across the platforms to the next room and run like mad to the North end. There you will find a save point. When you think you are prepared, continue North and pick up the 'Mirror Fragment.' O=====================O------------------------------------------------------o | Ud-Meiyu | | O=====================O A difficult boss here but I managed to conquer it | | HP: 800 | at level 25, also I forgot to actually equip healing | O=====================O items so I just ended up fighting him over and over | | until I could defeat him without healing so this | | strategy should be extra effective if you're actually thinking ahead. You | | will need both swords here, both of mine were powered to level five and | | your should be similar. He has two main attacks, a jump attack where his | | landing creates a large shockwave. During this attack I recommend running | | away and waiting until you hear him hit the ground before jumping, it will | | work well. On the second just run away from his spinning arms, don't be | | afraid to drop in the lava for a couple of seconds if it means avoiding | | the attack. As for fighting let loose both magic specials on each sword | | and then switch to the fire sword or whichever deals more damage and pound | | on him until the magic builds up again and repeat. Part of the ground | | will be knocked away during the fight, but you can adapt. I had the Galba | | Hand equipped as well for this fight, since dodging is preferable then | | defense doesn't matter if you aren't being hit, and extra damage is good. | | | o----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Head North and enter the sanctum, when you reach the end stand in front of the great angel statue and listen to the words. Continue North and examine the platform on the right to receive the sword 'Ericcil.' Now head South until you meet with a familiar face. Follow him up back into the previous room to continue the scene. Return to the ruins and use the Wing of Alma to get back to the entrance. Save your game and exit. Use your new sword to break the seal on the door above you and go inside. There you will find two chests containing 'Rainbow Fragment' and'Red Tabulus.' Return to Port Rimorge. The first thing you'll want to do is go into the inn. Speak to the red haired man and he'll read those tablets you've been picking up, speak to the blue haired man and agree to trade him the Capla Water. For it you receive the 'Emel Mallet.' Now go and speak to Baslam and he'll reward you with the 'Gratios Talisman.' Now you can wander around town and speak to people, make sure to stop and talk to the old man in the South shack, there's quite a gathering going on there. Also make sure to upgrade your equipment before you go. Once you're ready take the Northwest exit and head to the bridge. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Woods of Quatera | | (00008) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o After crossing make your way to the beach. | | Now that you have that item from Baslam head | Capla Water............_____ | South to the middle of the beach and walk | Limurian Mushroom......_____ | into the water, there is a sloping path you | Runed Earring.........._____ | can take that leads down and around to | Wild Fowl Meat........._____ | acquire another 'Capla Water.' Go back to | Seed of Power.........._____ | the woods and take the Northwest exit now, | | there's a blockade in your way but you can o------------------------------o simply jump right over it. In the next area, on the second corner there is a secret hidden path leading West up to a treasure chest with 'Limurian Mushroom' inside. When you reach the top of the map follow the Northeast path and open the chest to get 'Runed Earring,' then take the Northwest exit. At the fork follow the right branch and get the 'Wild Fowl Meat' from the chest. If you're ready to fight a miniboss take the West exit. Here there's an enemy with over 1800 health, however it shouldn't be too hard to defeat. Here's the trick, equip your fire sword and make sure you know how to use the charge up attack, you just hold square to do it. Now the boss is pretty fast but that doesn't matter since he shouldn't get a chance to attack you. When you're a good ten steps or so away point the charge up attack in his direction and he'll run right into it. If you're too close when you do it he'll be able to attack before you can interrupt him which is why you have to start far away. Pick up the Emelas once you have defeated him and return to the previous map. Navigate around the path and exit this section of the forest to the North. Olha is here in this area, speak to her. Talk to her a second time and she'll give you a 'Seed of Power.' That's all there really is to do here in the forest, now it's time to backtrack all the way to Port Rimorge. Fortunately by now you've probably accumulated lots of Emelas and money so when you return you can get some serious sword upgrades. Your next destination is the Limewater Cave which is located to the West of the Canaan Plain. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Limewater Cave | | (00009) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Save your game and head North to the next | | section of the cave. Finally go | | North once more to reach a small room with a o------------------------------o chest containing 'Herb.' Leave the room and take the Northeast exit from here. Take the East exit out of this room, and then the East exit again. Just for reference you should have just passed through an area with a lot of gold slimes and now be in an area with green and blue slimes. Once more take the East exit and you'll find yourself at a fork. Head South and follow this linear path out to a large chest containing 'Galba Armor.' Return back up to the fork and take the East branch this time. This leads you up to a room with a chest containing 'Galba Shield.' Now if you want to proceed through the entire cave there's a special item you need, it's not located in the cave but is in the possession of a rather difficult enemy which is why getting that armour and shield were a good idea. You'll have to exit the cave now though, using the Wing of Alma is a simple and easy way to return yourself to the save point. Head to the first Canaan Plain and go North to the next map. Before you cross the bridge turn left and proceed West to the next area. Follow this path up to reach a large bee enemy, it is a very difficult enemy because it is so hard to hit. The trick is to wait until it's on ground level and there are no other enemies around, at that point use your lightning sword to cast magic which should hit it many many times taking off almost half its health. At that point go in and swing at it like mad. When it rises into the air focus on dodging the powerful stingers and defeating the small enemies. Once the boss is dead a chest appears at the back containing 'Bell of Silence.' Now it's time to head back to the entrance of the Limewater Cave. Alright now listen carefull, here's where you want to go. North, North, North, East. At this point you should be in a room with a lot of gold slimes. Now proceed North, East, North. This should bring you to a room with a lot of stone platforms of varying heights you need to navigate, in the middle of the room you'll find a chest containing 'White Fowl Meat.' Take the Northwest exit then follow the path to the next West exit. This will bring you out to the upper section of another map. There's a pillar in the middle you can use to jump across to the other side, however I find it's a lot easier to just use the dash jump. If you happen to fall there's a save point to the North and you can get back here by going South, East, East, North, Northwest and West from where you fell. Continue West past the waterfalls into the next room and head North. Now you absolutely must equip the Bell of Silence here. These enemies cannot be defeated without it, however with it equipped they fall very quickly. In fact what I like to do is lure a lot of them near me and then let loose a lightning magic attack, works great. Once they're taken care of jump across to the top of the room and head through the door. Open the chest to receive the 'Gold Tabulas.' Before you go back anywhere you might want to spend some time in the previous room killing those monsters, not only do they drop a lot of Emelas they have an incredibly high drops rate for Herbs. Head South out of this room, now watch out for the cliff below you in this room. There's a much faster way to get back than going all the way around. Jump up onto that red platform sticking out of the wall on your left and dash jump back to the high ground on the right, then go East through the door. Run past the waterfalls and drop down on purpose at the next map. Go North and save. Leave the save point room and head North. At the first fork go right. On the next map you might come into contact with some shadows of yourself, if you want to see their true identity equip the Rainbow Fragment. Head East again and then South. Open the chest here to receive 'Herb.' Proceed North twice and then jump up on the platform on the East side, there's a door at the top. Open the chest and your accessory slots will be increased by one. Leave this room and take the South exit, return all the way back to the beginning and save your game. Now take the left branch at the fork. Follow this path through the next room and around the waterfall in the next one where you'll find a chest containing 'White Fowl Meat.' In the next room use the dash jump to reach the chest at the top and get the 'Seed of Defense.' Now once again backtrack to the save point at the entrance. This is the last time. Head right at the first fork and then North on the next map. Now head East, then as you're going up, take the West exit. There's a chest in this room containing 'Blue Potion.' Return to the previous room and make your way North. Run up the path and open the chest to find 'Blue Potion.' Now take the West exit. Follow the linear path West, then South when you come out on the next screen. Proceed thorugh the door leading East and dash jump onto the platform. From there you can hop up and get the 'Capla Water' fro mthe treasure chest. Jump back and enter the previous room. If you think you're prepared for a miniboss fight, equip yourself and head South. This boss fight is going to move quickly, I suggest you equip things to help your defense because some of the attacks can be powerful, you'll also want protection against almost every status effect because all types of slimes are going to appear. Use jump attacks while you don't have magic, but the instant you DO have magic let loose all of it, for every sword. Before you know it the boss is dead, either that or you are. Leave this room to the North and then North again. Drop down the ledge on your left and continue North. Head North at this next little junction as well. Watch the scene when you exit. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Cave Lake | | (0000A) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o At this point I chose to take all the oodles | | of money and Emelas I earned from that cave | Rose's Influence......._____ | and return to Port Rimorge. Approach the wall and examine it. After reading the emssage leave the area only to be interrupted, now watch the scene. When you have control again you'll be on the ship. Leave the room and enter the door beside the one you just came out of. Descend the stairs and check the room on the right for a chest containing 'Pirates' Firewater.' Step off the ship and talk to the captain at the upper left, tell him you're ready to go. There's another scene and you'll find yourself back in Port Rimorge. Head to the Southwest stairs and follow them to the dock. Speak with Terra and she gives you a 'Seed of Power.' Now cross the bridge and return all the way back to where you began the game, just outside that room a scene occurs with the chief. For the Mirror Fragment Olha rewards you with 'Capla Water.' After the scene enter the village. You're looking for a man named TOksa who is either in one of two places, standing outside his house or standing on the beach. When you find him he'll offer you something in exchange for your Firewater, agree and he exchanges the 'Gold Locket' for the Firewater. Now after that disturbing scene you saw in the mirror, it's time to head there yourself to check it out. If you don't remember it's on the other side of the Ruins of Amnesia. Head through the ruins until you reach the room which had all the impossible platform jumping, such as the Capla Water at the top and the four pillars you had to jump between to fall down. At the Northeast end of this room is the chest you opened to get the extra accessory slot, do the dash jump to reach it. If you find this jump too difficult you can run around to the large staircase near the end and drop down the open section on the left at the top. Heading West from there leads to the same place. The point is that you're standing beside this chest you already opened. Equip the rainbow fragment and all of a sudden there are some new platforms. Start jumping across until you reach a barrier. Now to this this there is a special trick. Equip the lightning sword and stand on the far right side of the platform facing West toward the large object. Tap the square button as fast as you can, as you swing your sword you'll slowly edge toward the object, on the third combo you should finish with a huge lightning dash, this will propel you stright ahead across the gab but under the large wall. Now go though the door and open the chest to receive 'Black Tabulas.' Some enemies pop out but they are so painfull easy, just a single strike will kill them. Now make your way all the way to the end of the ruins for a scene at the statue of Alma. Return to the ruins and use the Wing of Alma to get out of there. Now it's time to head back to Port Rimorge. There's a man in blue standing out in front of the inn, talk to him and return his Golden Locket to receive the 'Lucky Silver Coin' in return. Cross the bridge over to Rehdan Village and prepare for a surprise. Now head to Port Rimorge. Enter Baslam's house and speak with him. Get out of here and use the save point. Watch out for the enemies at the top of the stairs and everywhere else, remember you've got people to protect. Climb the stairs up to the bridge and open the chest with your new key to receive 'Starlight Medal.' Head back down and go into the third room you pass. In there is another chest, it contains '10,000 Gold.' When you step onto the main deck of the ship get ready with the lightning magic spell because you'll be ambushed by soldiers. Remember that any healing item you use affects your whole party, so do it if you have to. Enter the door on the ship above this one and go down to the very bottom, open the chest there to receive another '10,000 Gold.' Now return to Port Rimorge for a scene. Speak to the boy in the middle of town, it seems he has lost all his Pikkards. Cross the bridge and head back to Rehdan Village. Speak to Kevin who now sells the ultra rare Seed of Vitality at a rather steep price. Enter the chief's house and watch the scene there. He gives you the 'Wyvern Medaille' during the conversation. Leave the village and head Northwest into the forest. If you remember where you fought that optional plant enemy the first time, return there to find a new more difficult version. The reward for defeating this enemy is the incredibly helpful 'Emelas Crown.' This accessory increases your max hit points by 50% as well as upping your luck a bit. To defeat the enemy use all your magic and then equip your most powerful sword. If you run away from the enemy, then jump toward it and do the downward swing, then repeat this over and over you can beat it without being hit. Head North to Windseeker Heights where you'll find the first Pikkard at the bottom of the stairs. Pick him up using the square button. Examine the stone monument at the top of the stairs to open the path downward. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ The Ruined City Kishgal | | (0000C) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Save your game and start heading down the | | stairs. When you o------------------------------o reach the door along the path, head inside. Start dropping down slowly platform by platform until you see a treasure chest under another platform, blocked by some rocks. To get to it you just need to go below and jump up the other side, it contains 'Blue Potion.' Continue to drop until you reach a path leading South at the bottom. Take it and open the chest to receive 'White Tabulas.' Now jump back up to the top again. Move to the right of the door and jump from the broken pieces up to the upper level and climb the stairs to find a 'Seal of Vitality' in the chest. Now take the stairs down leading East. The path remains fairly linear through this screen, and the next screen as well. In the next room do the same thing you did with the other wall enemy. Approach the pedestal and step onto the device in the centre. Open the chest on your left to receive 'Capla Water' and then use the save point on the right to save your game. Now proceed South. Descend the stairs and follow the path. When you come to a door go inside andopen all the chests to receive '80,000 Emel,' 'Emelas Shield,' and an increase in your accessory capacity, indeed this is the greatest room ever. Leave the room and continue onward toward the next map to the West. Head up at the fork and go through the door. Another one of these. Make sure to grab the 'Blue Potion' on your way down, you can either drop to it or dash jump from the broken piece of concrete on the right. Exit at the bottom and press the switch, now climb back up to the top. Jump across the platform you raised on the left and enter the next room, it's yet another one of these. Once again you'll find a 'Blue Potion' part way down so keep an eye out for it. Press the switch at the bottom and then back up again. Jump back to the previous door and drop down the open space in front of it, press the switch that's right beside you. Climb up from the South side and jump over to the second room. Drop down in front of it and open the chest to receive '10,000 Emel.' Climb up one more time and jump onto the middle platform, but run South this time. There's a switch at the end of the path. Now you can cross all the way to the top and go through the door. Save your game on the right. Now before you enter the final dungeon there's a few things you might want to go back and do. This walkthrough will cover all that now however you are free to continue on to the North end of this path. If you choose to go back, use your Wing of Alma to get out of the dungeon and navigate through the forest all the way back to Port Rimorge. After getting that huge amount of Emelas from the chest you should easily be able to afford the final armour from the swordsmith. Speak to her when you have enough Emel and she'll make you the 'Emelas Armor.' Head to the inn and speak to the red haired man in there. Read every single one of the five tabulas and he'll ask you if he can keep them, agree and he gives you the 'Winged God Emblem.' Last thing to do is give the Pikkard you picked up to Emilio, since you can only carry one. Now you should be prepared for what lies ahead, there's a few optional minibosses. Exit the town via the East exit. Head North on the Canaan Plain toward the bridge and then go West to where you fought the bee. There's a new bee here who is particularly dangerous however using a leveled up lightning sword's magic you should be able to knock off nearly half its health with a single strike, work on building up your magic again by defeating the smaller enemies it drops and then finish it off. A chest appears at the top beside the other one which contains 'Emelas Glove.' Now there's one more that should be an absolute piece of cake to you if you defeated the bee. Return to the Limewater Cave and run all the way back to where you fought the large blob before, a new more powerful version has appeared. In fact if you've got the Emelas Shield, Glove, and Armor equipped this boss should be dealing one damage to you with each hit. Just waste it to get the 'Emelas Guard.' Now you should now have every accessory in the game except one. Well lets get that one, do get it you need to find the four Pikkards, you should already have one though. Fortunately you're already most of the way to the next one, exit the Limewater Cave to the North and go across the water area, past the save point, into the mouth of the best, and grab the Pikkard at the upper right of the Sunrise Inlet. Use your Wing of Alma and return it to Emilio. Off to the Ruins of Amnesia. Run all the way to the end and grab the Pikkard from beside the save point. Backtrack and give it to Emilio, now only one remains. Head North of the Canaan Plain to the Grana-Vallis Mountain and start climbing. Up at the top you'll find the Pikkard wandering around the area South of the very tip. Bring it back to Emilio in Port Rimorge and he'll reward you with the final accessory in the game, the 'Daylight Stone.' If you think you're prepared you can take on the hardest boss of the game. Don't expect to do it later, because after this is the last dungeon, and you won't be leaving. The time is upon us. Head to the Ruins of Amnesia. Do you remember the platforming room with the four pillars close together, where you had to jump in between them and drop down? If you need a memory refresher they are located down the main stairs, North along the path then East into the next room, and East across the linear path. In this room follow the main path down and when it changes direction South and you have to jump over a gap, look to your right and you'll see four pillars close together, three broken and one in tact. Do a dash jump and drop down the centre of these pillars, when you land beside a treasure box you should have already opened. Equip the Rainbow Fragment to reveal a platform and jump across. Prepare to be wasted. O=====================O------------------------------------------------------o | Majunun | | O=====================O You can't even damage this boss until your strength | | HP: 7610 | is approaching 290, and you can't fight this boss | O=====================O reasonably until you get it up toward 300. Level | | 55 is the minimum but level 60 is preferable, once | | you meet this requirement equip either nine Blue Potions or all the Capla | | Water you have. The entire fight should be done with the lightning sword, | | in terms of offense you should focus on the following. Start the fight | | by running right up next to it and letting loose a magic spell, one of the | | most important things in this battle is basically being so close that you | | are touching him when you cast the magic, if done right it should hit | | extremely quickly and far more times than from a distance. While your | | magic is charging you have to dodge the boss' three attacks. His first | | is very easy to dodge, he spins around and fires projectiles in all | | directions. Just jump over them. His second is nearly impossible to | | dodge every single time, with this one he starts to expand and finds a | | spot to stop moving and fire energy waves in all directions. If you're on | | the other side of the room you'll be fine, but if the boss has managed | | to corner you be prepared to take some extreme damage. That's not even | | the hardest attack to dodge, finally he fires little heat seeking pellets | | that are next to impossible to dodge. If you're running perpendicular to | | him you can usually dodge most of them, but it's always that odd one or | | two that hit you. To make matters worse this is the attack that becomes | | more powerful as he gets closer to death, every time the attack occurs | | there will be more pellets flying around. Good luck with this one... | | | o----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Now return to Kishgal, and navigate through to the end. Head North down to the end of the corridor and step onto the platform. If you are prepared to go to the final dungeon, say that you are ready when asked. Before going further she offers you the final event item in the game, the 'Mirror of Zeme.' \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ The Ark of Napishtim | | (0000D) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Climb up the stairs and grab the chest on | | the right to receive 'Seed of Power.' Use | Seed of Power.........._____ | the save point on the left if you wish (you | Capla Water............_____ | may want to save on another slot.) Proceed | | North and get ready for a fight. o------------------------------o O=====================O------------------------------------------------------o | Galba-Roa | | O=====================O The boss has a single primary attack where he shoots | | HP: 2000 | fireballs at you, just run to dodge these, he can | O=====================O also shoot an odd serpent like projectile that's a | | bit harder to dodge, but you'll need status effect | | protection anyway just in case you're hit. Most of the battle should be | | fought using the lightning sword's magic spell, at level 11 it's very | | powerful and equally so at level 10. When using it don't cast from a | | distance since it will most likely target his invulnerable, instead run | | up and use it while standing underneath him for more damage. This will | | make him use a spin attack which can be easily jumped over. Once you kill | | the boss he actually comes back with 1000 HP, in this form the fire sword | | actually works better. Use the fire magic and then charge it up between | | dodging shock waves from his tail, jump a split second after the impact. | | | o----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Ride the elevator up and open the chest on the right for a 'Capla Water' and then use the save point on your left. Continue North for another scene. O=====================O------------------------------------------------------o | Ernst | | O=====================O This is one of the more hectic boss fights, as it | | HP: 2738 | becomes very difficult to dodge all the attacks | O=====================O in the chaos of things and usually just becomes much | | easier to go in swinging like crazy. Start the | | battle by using all your magic on him, ignore the little faeries as they | | cannot be killed. Switch to your most powerful sword which should be at | | least level 10 and just allow the magic to continuously charge up, if it's | | the lightning spell try to cast it while close to him and while most of | | the faeries are unconscious. The majority of his attacks can be jumped | | if you time it correctly, the others just require you to be moving. Most | | offensive attacks will result in you being hurt from being too close since | | you can't predict his attacks, which is why magic is you most effective | | tool to use from a distance. Be offensive if you have a lot of items. | | | o----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Head back and save your game, then start climbing the spiral staircase. O=====================O------------------------------------------------------o | Napishtim | | O=====================O The first part of this battle is simple enough, it | | HP: 5000 | has 3000 life, and three pods each with 1000 life | O=====================O individually that add up to the total. Each pod can | | only be damaged by the sword that corresponds to its | | colour so you'll have to switch back and forth constantly as you attack. | | The boss doesn't have any attacks per se, instead it has rotating lasers | | of each of the three colours, the blue and red rotate at a constant speed | | it's the yellow one that goes up and down and moves faster you have to | | watch out for. Stay in a section between two blue beams, don't try to | | start jumping over them you'll just end up hitting the red ones. Smash | | the orbs as they come around each time until eventually all three are | | destroyed. At that point the boss changes into its final form. Now in | | this form it has 5000 hit point. The singular eyeball if where you need | | to hit it. Equip the lightning sword and start charging magic. The | | centre moves up and down, and uses its first attack. This attack shoots | | out a weak energy shockwave on the upper platform if the boss is raised | | up, and on the lower platform near the middle if the boss is down. Just | | either toward or away from the middle depending on the boss' height. The | | other attack is the far more dangerous one, a huge laser beam fires out of | | the eye. This does serious damage to you, do NOT try attacking the boss | | before the beam, only after it finishes. If you're using lightning magic | | it works extremely well if the boss is on the lower level and you run | | right up to it after it fired a beam, use the magic while directly beside | | the boss for serious damage. Continue this and heal for an easy kill. | | | o----------------------------------------------------------------------------o You beat the game. Good job! Now sit back and enjoy the ending. d--(o_O)--b O============================================================================O | Alma's Trials (00010) | O============================================================================O To access these trials you must first acquire the Wing of Alma on the Grana- Vallis Mountain, then select it from your inventory and choose "Warp." \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Trial One | | (00011) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Run down the corridor fighting enemies as | | you go. On the last one you may want to do a dash jump straight North, just to be safe, but you don;t have to. Head through the door. Defeat the flowers at the top and the other various enemies and proceed North to collect your reward. You can choose either money (2000), Emel (500) or experience. Now that's it for the first trial. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Trial Two | | (00012) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Make your way North and defeat the exploding | | enemies at the top. Step onto the platform | Herb..................._____ | on the right and it brings you to a chest | Herb..................._____ | containing 'Herb.' Jump back and get onto | | the left platform, ride it to another o------------------------------o platform which takes you the rest of the way. Get off and go through the door. In the next room similar to the one you were just in, run to the lower right corner and jump up onto the closest platform on your left. Open the chest to receive another 'Herb.' Now you have to jump down and leave the room. This resets the platforms. Come back in and step onto the platform at the lower left corner. From there just step onto each new platform it touches when it stops. Simply doing this will easily bring you to the end. Battle the plant monster and defeat it to end the trial. Through the door you get another chance to choose either experience, 5000 Gold or 2000 Emel. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Trial Three | | (00013) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Follow the path to the first room. Now in | | this room all you have to do is go North, | Seed of Defense........_____ | but waves will crash down and push you | | backward. First of all you need to o------------------------------o understand the time between each wave isn't the same, one comes and then the other about two seconds later, then there's a FOUR second break before they start again, During this break run up the path and at the last second find yourself a good nook or cranny to hide in, the broken pieces of concrete on either side of the room work well. When you get near the top jump up onto the ledge on the right, then dash jump North to reach a chest containing 'Seed of Vitality.' Jump down when the waves calm and head through the opening, hopefully you have the talisman from Baslam, otherwise you're a bit screwed. Start going North on the west side and make a right at the first fork. At your next chance go up, left and up at the second path you come to, not the first. Go right when you reach the top and follow the path down and around to get to the exit. The boss of this area is one of those slime monsters, lightning magic works great against it. In the next room your reward is, 20,000 Gold or 10,000 Emel. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Trial Four | | (00014) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Enter the first main room. Ride the first | | platform, then the second you come to and | Blue Potion............_____ | then the one after that. Jump down and head | Blue Potion............_____ | to the Southeast corner, get onto the | | platform there, and continue from platform o------------------------------o to platform until you reach a chest containing 'Blue Potion.' Ride the upper of the two platforms across to reveal a door. Now go through it. In the next large room you simply have to defeat every enemy before the door will open, equip the Rainbow Fragment to do just that. Exit through the East door. In the next room run to the Northeast corner and jump onto the platform there. Ride it across to find a 'Blue Potion' in a chest. Ride the platform directly below it. Continue now to ride across until you are given no choice but to jump down. You'll notice at the upper middle there are two paths leading up to two separate platforms which are touching just at the very tips or their corners. Of these two platforms you want to get on the upper-right one. Again ride them until you have no choice but to drop. Proceed to the East wall and climb up to that platform. Ride until you are given a choice between one on the left and one below you, choose the one below you. This should allow you to use the South exit now. Defeat the enemies in the next room as well to open the door. Just step onto the only available platform in the next room and it carries you over to the West side. In the final room you are faced off against a much more powerful, flowerful foe. Remember that for these types of enemies running away and jumping toward them with a downward slash is an effective way to interrupt their attack. Now you can finally get your reward, experience, 30,000 Gold or 50,000 Emel. \ / \ / s: The Ark of Napishtim /-----------------------------------------------o | -----------o-------------\ Trial Five | | (00015) \----------------------------------------------o o------- Item Checklist -------o Head into the first room and follow the path | | as it leads you West. There's a red switch | Capla Water............_____ | in here, jump and stab down with your fire | Seed of Defense........_____ | sword. Return to the main room and you'll | | see some pillars have appeared, equip the o------------------------------o Bell of Silence and take out those annoying fluttering bugs so they don't get in your way while you're trying to jump across. Do so and enter the room above. Stand in the centre of the blue panel and use your wind sword magic. Open the chest to receive 'Capla Water.' Jump back to the bottom of the main room and then head East from the midpoint of the large pillars across the new ones which have risen. I find it about ten times easier to dash jump from one pillar to the next, but it's not absolutely required if you really aren't good at dash jumping, but I assure you it makes the whole process ten times easier. Head through the East door. Let loose a lightning magic spell in this room which acts as the switch. Go back to the central area to find that new pillars have risen. While on the second of the new pillars you can dash jump left and open the chest to receive 'Seed of Defense' if you want. Jump back and continue to the North door. Before going into the final room you'll want the Rainbow Fragment equipped, and the Wild Fowl Meat as your tool. Trust me, you have to find a ton of bug things and they drop Wild Fowl Meat quit often, replenishing your stock. Using the lightning magic in this area is absolutely devastating assuming you have it levelled to the max. It's not over yet however, the next room has another one of those big goo bosses, but the large flat terrain makes it easy for you to navigate and dodge its attacks. Continue North and claim your prize, experience, 50,000 Gold or 100,000 Emel.
