Some of you folks might remember my awesome walkthrough for the first Shadow Man, which I recieved great praise from the readers and I want to thank you all for the compliments I have received for my earlier work, glad I was there to help you through the tough times. I know this walkthrough is like really late in the making, but I only found one other sloppy, super unorganised walkthrough for this game on the internet so I decided to write another one that was very reader friendly. Plus I really enjoyed this game and some parts were really tough to figure out, so here I am again to help you guys (and gals) through the tough times. Well people, Acclaim has outdone themselves yet again with their latest installment of Mike Leroi in his quest to save mankind from the evil forces that are out to bring about Armageddon. I'm sorry to say you aren't chasing down crazed serial killers in this game, searching for Dark Souls, or even wandering around Deadside for long periods of time (only 2 level of the game involve Deadside), but this game is really awesome and so much fun to play and is definitely worth the Shadow Man title. The graphics are so-so, ten times better than the origional, the sound effects are okay, you get way more weapons to play around with than in the first game, the voice acting is spectacular, and there are still many mind boggling puzzles to figure out. And need I mention all the blood, blood, and blood? If you haven't played the first game in this series, some of the story will really make no sense to you. But if you're a die hard fan of the first Shadow Man, then this story just fills in all the missing pieces and I applaud Acclaim for there excellent work in making yet another intriguing story line. What is it with Acclaim and all of their underated games? Look at the first Shadow Man, or the Turok series, even Armorines, all of them awesome games but for some reason, all the asshole video game critics give all Acclaim games super bad reviews. Don't even get me started on the crappy review this game received! It seems to me that all these so called "critics" are little whiny, never been laid, no social life, momma boy geeks who like super linear, non-challenging games like Pokemon, Mario, Kirby, and all these other super lame games that take no effort, thought, or skill to beat. Any reader out there that wants a challenge, go pick up an Acclaim game and say screw EA Games (how many friggin' Football, Baseball, Hockey, Nascar, or James Bond games does someone need?), Nintendo, Sega, Microsofties, and all you other lame ass gaming companies out there who give video games a bad name! Let's not forget about all those unimpressive, graphically challenged Tom Clancey games on the market (with the exception of Splinter Cell), what a joke. Give it up and let Acclaim rule! Opinions vary so if you're offended by mine, who cares? I sure as hell don't. ======================================================================= ********************************************* 2) MORE WALKTHROUGHS BY ME, VERSION HISTORY ********************************************* -- Other Walkthougs I have Written 1) Armorines Project S.W.A.R.M. for the PS1 or N64 2) Shadow Man for the PS1, N64, Dream Cast, or PC 3) The Suffering for the PS2, Xbox, or PC 4) The Suffering: Ties That Bind for the PS2 or PC 5) Turok 2: Seeds of Evil for the N64 or PC -- VERSION HISTORY Version 1.0 March 4, 2005 This is the first, complete version of my walkthrough and the only things missing are 3 Cadeaux. I'll find them sooner or later and add them in. If anyone knows where the rest are, e-mail their locations before I find them and I'll credit you for any information you supply. And if you do e-mail a Cadeaux location, make sure you let me know which section of the walkthrough it's missing from. Version 1.5 June 23, 2007 Fixed a few typos and added "The Suffering" and "The Suffering: Ties That Bind" to other walkthorughs I've written. ======================================================================= *************************** 3) THE SHADOW MAN 2 STORY *************************** For thousands of years, the Shadow Men have been protecting the world of the living souls from the ones trying to cross over from Deadside to banish the world of the living. If it weren't for these ancient voodoo protectors, there would be no Liveside. The dead souls would transform our world into a place you can't possibly fathom. Shadowmen of ancient times were African warriors blessed by the Gods with supernatural powers to protect their native tribes of emanating souls from the dimension known as Deadside. When the Spaniards began collecting slaves in the late 17th century, the Shadowmen lineage had almost died out. In the early 18th century, a very powerful voodoo priestess crafted the Mask of Shadows. This mask summoned the powers of Les Mysteres, the New World Gods, to empower the wearer of the mask the ancient powers of the Shadowmen. From then on, there could only be one Shadow Man in existence at a time. This mask will make him the ultimate voodoo champion in any dimension, certaintly powerful enough to keep the chaotic forces from Deadside at bay from invading the peaceful world of the living. Mike Leroi is the current unfortunate soul to bear the Mask of Shadows on his chest. At Mike's will or Nettie's command, the mask transforms him into the Walker Between the Dimensions, Immortal Voodoo Warrior, Taker of Dead Souls, Lord of the Dead, the SHADOW MAN! Since the destruction of Legion and the great Dark Engine, Shadow Man has been lying dormant, trapped in Deadside because Legion stole Luke's Teddy Bear. The bear has just resurfaced and Shadow Man awakens, eager to return to Liveside. When Mike returns to the Wild at Heart, he discovers that a new evil has arised and quickly takes action. ======================================================================= **************** 4) CHARACTERS **************** - MIKE LEROI / SHADOW MAN - Born in New Orleans, this 35 year old is a victim of his own demise. After flunking out of college to become an English Literature Professor, he resorted to drinking and spent the rest of his college fund from his parents on women, booze, and gambling. He then took up a job as a taxi driver in Chicago and lied to his family and pretended to be a college professor. In 1991, Mike was taking some young punk to unknowingly make a drug deal. When the deal started to go bad, the dealers shot Mike's passanger in the back of the head gangsta style and he floored the cab to get out of there to save his own life. When Mike ditched his cab, he was petrified and wiped the cab down of his finger prints and discovered a duffle bag in the hands of the dead punk and he took it. Inside the bag, he discovered $20,000! In a paranoid panic, he returned home to New Orleans and showered his family with gifts and payed for his little brother Luke's much needed operation with his newfound fortune. Well, it turns out that the Mob was responsible for the shooting and had tracked Mike back home and demanded their blood money or Mike and his family would die. In utter fear, Mike sought help from a Bokor, a voodoo priest, to cast a spell of protection from the Mobsters who threaten him. Unfortunately, this spell the priest had cast worked far too well. To celebrate Luke's homecoming from his brain surgery, Mike was taking his family out to dinner and they were all murdered at a stop light in a drive by shooting, Mike barely survived. After waking out of a coma of 5 years, Mike had lost all of his memory. He was brain washed and drawn into the voodoo underworld by the Bokor. Mike was doomed to be the Bokor's zombie slave for eternity, the price he had to unknowingly pay for the spell of protection the voodoo priest had cast upon him. Taking on a new identity as Zero, Mike had served as a hitman for the Bokor and was totally unaware of his true identity. One dreary night, a very powerful voodoo priestess named Mamma Nettie walked into the Bokor's bar, the Wild at Heart, and seduced Mike into her bed. While Mike was sleeping, she summoned her powers and implanted the Mask of Shadows into Mike's chest making him the next Shadow Man, now her eternal slave and under her complete control. When Mamma Nettie regained her powers the next day, she destroyed the Bokor and took his soul. Then Nettie gave the Wild at Heart's deed to Mike and gave him back his memory, which he wished she hadn't, for it constantly torments him. As the Shadow Man under Nettie's control, Mike just can't simply "end" his suffering. Until he finds out a way to break this curse and seek redemption for the horrors he has commited, Mike is doomed to obey Mamma Nettie's every command for eternity. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - MAMMA NETTIE - Nettie is the powerful voodoo priestess who crafted the Mask of Shadows and has complete control of whomever wears the mask. Although this sexy mamma appears to be in her mid twenties, she is in fact centuries old. She simply stole the body of a young woman who she had drawn into the voodoo underworld. Luckily for ole' Mikey, he must regularly have sexual relations with Nettie to sustain her powers and maintain her youthful form from the powers of the Mask of Shadows. Nettie doesn't play a very important role in Shadow Man 2 as she did in the first game. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - JAUNTY - Jaunty is Nettie's assistant who used to be trapped in Deadside, as the Watcher of the Marrow Gates, doomed to be a disfigured skull serpent for all eternity. The Marrow Gates are the enterance into the horrific dimension of Deadside, or the enterance into the peaceful land of the living, the place in-between the worlds. In Liveside, he's a Leprachan. Good thing for Jaunty, Mike saved his ass so he could return to Liveside. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - THOMAS DEACON - The first Shadow Man game really didn't go into detail about Thomas Deacon. Remeber his file on "The Five?" Anyways, Mr. Deacon has retrieved a very special book, called "The Codex," that he lost his legs for so you know damn well this book must be worth something. In fact, this books holds the key for Armageddon! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - PAPPA MORTE - He's the evil Bokor who's in cahoots with Asmodeus to bring about Armageddon and betrayed Manmma Nettie's truce. He's also the guy responsible for sending out all these thugs to whack you. ======================================================================= *********************** 5) WEAPONS AND ITEMS *********************** - ITEMS - LUKES TEDDY BEAR: This special item allows you to warp to any given locale once you've seen the Teddy Bear icon flash across the screen. POCKET WATCH: Once you find this, you can change between Mike and Shadow Man at your leisure. I usually play the whole game as Shadow Man unless I come across a heavy block that only Mike can move. CADEAUX: Just like in the first Shadow Man, you must find these little red seeds if you want to increase your life or voodoo magic meter. There are only 100 to find as opposed to the previous 500, and they're MUCH easier to spot! SIGILS: Instead of collecting Dark Souls, your main goal in this game is to find all the Sigils. There are 36 in all. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - DOCUMENTS - DIAGENIUM: Very simply put, maps of the current level you're in. DEACON'S MESSAGE: A note from Mr. Deacon. THE CODEX: The book that Mr. Deacon recovered that holds the secret of Armageddon. It also allows you to go to the next level....providing you've found all the Sigil's necessary to progress. GRIMOIRE INFERNALE: This just tells the tale of the evil plot this game is based upon. It also explains the origins of the Healing Cup, Nephilim Blade and some lame ass Irish warrior. CUT SCENES: Once an in-game cut scene is played, it goes in here so you can watch them all again at you liesure. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - WEAPONS - -BREAK SOME HEADS WIDE OPEN: WRECKING BAR: This is just a simple crowbar used to bash some heads in with or break locks. MACHETE: Need I say more? FIRE AXE: Not only a weapon, you can also use this to bust open crates or break down 2x4's blocking your progress, works on locks also. - FIREARMS - NAIL GUN: Don't feel like breaking open a thugs head with the crowbar? Then shoot a dozen nails in 'em! 200 Nail max. PISTOL: A standard 9mm pistol to shoot the baddies full o' holes! 500 rounds max. SNIPER RIFLE: If you need an explanation, go back to Pokemon games! 500 rounds max. SHOTGUN: Rip 'em a new one at close range. Just like in the first Shadow Man, this weapon SUCKS! There are two of them to find. 50 rounds max, if you have both, 100 rounds max. MP909S: A compact sub-machine gun to riddle the freaks full 'o holes like a block of swiss cheese. 0.9 GPMG: A heavy machine gun. Can be upgraded to fit a grenade launcher. Yesir, now we're talking! SHADOW GUN: Yes, Shadow Man's trusty weapon returns, which still makes that super annoying sound. Hold down the fire butoon to charge this bad boy up to launch a super powerful shot. If you waste an enemy with this, it will leave behind Lifeforce. When you're Mike, this changes into his trusty high caliber hand gun. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - VOODOO WEAPONS - - INCINERER: This mummified snake shoots an awesome flame out of its mouth to totally consume the enemy in fire. - FAUX: This curved blade is powered by fire and releases a devestating flame that sets the enemies afire when you thwack them upside the head. - COLLE: These wasp looking things are actually little time delayed mines. Paste one on large groups of boulders to blow them out of your way or plant one on an enemies head and watch them blow up and be consumed by fire. STAND BACK when these babies blow, they emit a very large shockwave that can kill you if you're too close when they detonate. - EXPLOSER: This little bomb, when detonated, releases huge arcs of fire that home in on all the little freaks surrounding you and burns them alive. - VOODOO MAGIC - - L'INFERNO: Use this when you see a campfire, it will transport you to another campfire close by, well, most campfires. Very handy when a fence is blocking your way or trying to reach an otherwise unaccesible ledges. - FAMINE: When you equip this and use it, it drains an enemies life and transfers it to you. You'll be using this a lot. - GUERRE: This thing supposively raises your attack power when you use it, I don't notice any difference. - L'ORAGE: Shoots lightning bolts that home in on the enemies. - PESTE: This lame ass weapon releases a bunch of flies that hardly do any damage to the enemy. Don't even bother using this, a complete waste of Voodoo magic. - MORT: When you use this bad boy, it releases an utterly devestating shockwave to totally rock the enemy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - NEPHILIM ITEMS - - NEPHILIM SHARD: This mace looking thing will set an enemy on fire. If you hit an enemy repeatedly with this, they'll explode into tiny bloody pieces. - NEPHILIM GAUNTLETS: These blades will permantley equip on you wrists once found. Very deadly these things are. - NEPHILIM SHIELD: When you use this, you're protected from enemy projectiles as long as you're facing the direction they're coming from. You can also completely cover yourself with this, but you'll be immobile if you do. - NEPHILIM BLADE: A magic sword. Destroys enemies pretty fast. - CHALICE: You have to use this to cure a cursed character in the game. It can also be used like a flashlight in dark areas. - MALIGNUM: A magical crossbow. Like your Shadowgun, you can charge this up for a more powerful shot. You don't find this until late in the game, but once you do, enemies beware! ======================================================================= ************* 6) ENEMIES ************* THUGS: These morons come in three, Mob type dudes in suits, big fat ugly bastards, or geeks wearing camoflauge pants. These are thugs of Pappa Morte who are out to kill ol' Mikey boy and take The Codex. They are very weak and their heads break open really quick with the wrecking bar. Shoot 'em in the eyes with the Nail Gun just for the hell of it. ZOMBIES: Don't tell me you want an explanation. DEMON WORMS: You only see these things at the beginning of the game in Deadside. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! MINI-GARGOYLES: These are miniturasized Gargoyles that fly around shooting magic stuff at you. Just waste these things with your machine gun. When there are a lot of them flying around, they can become quite a nuisance. ABOMINATION: These red Hell Hounds look very similar to the beast in the movie "The Relic" and are incredibly tough. DEMONS: These things come in three different forms and are only found in Dark Sepulchres. The greenish blue ones are pretty weak but the other two kinds with the huge claws are extremely deadly so kill them from a distance. GORILLA DEMONS: If Gorilla's were demons, they'd look like these things. They shoot projectiles at you from a distance and if you're close enough they'll slam the ground to produce a shockwave to knock you on your ass. DUPPIES: These freaks make a return from the first game. Tall, skinny, geeky creatures that are really weak. One fully charged Shadow Gun round should take care of these. ======================================================================= ************* 7) CONTROLS ************* I decided to put these in for all the peolpe who bought the game used and didn't get the instruction manual. Being an expeierienced FAQ writer, I know some people are really stupid figuring out the controls (even though they can look at them any time they want via the menu, duuhhhh), so here's a list for them so don't e-mail me for the controls. Some people really shouldn't play video games. I only list the default: DEFAULT CONTROLS: R1: Switch weapon/item in right hand. L1: Switch weapon/item in left hand. R2: Fire weapon or use item currently in right hand. L2: Fire weapon or use item currently in left hand. R3: Lock camera. L3: Not used. LEFT ANALOG: Move. RIGHT ANALOG: Strafe, move camera up or down, and shimmy ledges. X: Jump. SQUARE: Crouch, roll while moving forwards. CIRLE: Action button. TRIANGLE: Put current weapon/item in hand away. D-PAD UP: Zoom in, tap twice to see in first person view. D-PAD DOWN: Zoom out. D-PAD RIGHT: Move camera. D-PAD LEFT: Move camera. START: Pauses the game. SELECT: Inventory screen. If you need me to list the inventory controls, you must be smoking some really good shit, figure them out for yourself and then treat yourself to a cookie. ====================================================================== ********************** 8) GAME WALKTHROUGH ********************** ********** * NOTICE * ********** If you are not following my walkthrough for the entire game and went on-line for a quick reference as to where a certain item is, just scan down the page and look for it at the beginning of that section of the walkthrough; then look up how to get the item in that section. Hope it made it a little bit easier on you, as opposed to that other so called guide available on the internet.....(fill in the blank). MAKE SURE YOU SAVE OFTEN! I don't know if it's just my used copy or my PS2 is on the frits, but this game likes to freeze up a lot so make sure you save whenever you enter a new area. I fail to mention almost all of the enemies along the way so be on constant guard, I didn't want to spoil all your fun. I recently discovered that when the load screen comes on, you can change the background colors by pressing the R1, R2 and L1, L2 buttons, and you can rotate the design by messing with the analog sticks, just letting you know. And one more thing, I won't spoil the story for you :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ DEADSIDE ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - LUKE'S TEDDY BEAR - 1 CADEAUX After you find out the story behind Thaomas Deacon from the opening cut scene, you'll start off in a very familiar place, Deadside on a pile of skulls. Isn't it nice to be back in the asshole of the Universe? Smells a little raunchy, but still, it's good to be back. After being lost for many, many years, Lukes Teddy Bear has finally surfaced so let's go get it. Wow, doesn't Deadsise look much more pleasing to the eye than before? And check out Shadow Man, half decayed, cool. Anyways, continue forwards, spotting torsos hanging all around dripping blood sweet blood, and sooner or later a few zombies will rise up out of the ground. I don't know about you, but I'm as happy as pigs in shit these things aren't moaning and screeching like in the first game. You have to kill all the zombies that surface, since you don't have any weapons yet, beat the crap out of them with your fists (use the R2 and L2 buttons). Continue along and kill every zombie (the pots along the way contain lifeforce so if you lose energy, break open a pot for life energy) and when they're all dead a gate will rise. Continue along to a seemingly dead end and hang a left, crouch under the gate (square button) and head straight to enter a circular room with a campfire in the middle of it, notice the Marrow Gates? Where in the hell is Jaunty? Experiment with the crouch button while moving to perform some evasive rolls. Some Demon Worms will rise up and I strongly advise you avoid them since you don't have any weapons yet and they'll knock your ass around pretty good, probably even kill you. Instead of dealing with the monsters, climb up the ladder on the left. Run through the tunnel, killing zombies along the way, until you come to a rope. Jump up (X button) to grab onto the rope and shimmy your way across the chasm. Drop down (square button) and continue through the tunnel to a blood pool. Dive in and grab the Cadeaux on the bottom, then surface to spot a button on the wall. Push it in to open the gate next to you, go through it and continue along to a gap. Jump across (if you fall down, then you'll have to make your way back up here) and continue along until you reach the Teddy Bear. Use it to warp to The Wild at Heart in Louisiana. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ THE WILD AT HEART ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - DIAGENIUM - WRECKING BAR - NAIL GUN - MACHETE - 1 CADEAUX After the cut scene, you'll be in your bar (in case you didn't play the first Shadow Man, you own this place) and some thugs appear. Kill them all and you'll notice a lock on the door leading out to Bourbon st. Head up the stairs and go through the door to be in a hallway with four other doors. Search behind those doors to find the Diagenium, Nail Gun, and the Wrecking Bar. On the bed the wrecking bar is on, check out that poor dude hanging on the ceiling with his skin peeled back to expose his innards. Pretty sick shit, but way cool. You'll change into Mike, don't worry. During the day you'll be Mike and at night you'll become Shadow Man. When you find the watch, you can change into either one whenever you want. The watch isn't for a while yet though. Go back down the stairs and bust the lock off the door with your new crowbar. Go left and follow the street to a large crate (you must be Mike whenever you push in crates, just so you know), push it in to snag a Cadeaux. Go back past the Wild at Heart and take a right at the intersection. You'll notice crates everywhere, you can't break them open until you find an axe, you'll also see barrels blocking doorways, you can't shoot them until you find a gun. Follow the street, wasting thugs along the way, to the town square. In the middle of this square is a locked fenced in area with a statue in it. You can't break the lock until you find the Shadow Gun. Go behind the fence to the right and you'll see a locked gate, bust the lock with the crowbar and follow the path to enter the Bayou. Run past a bunch of dilapitated houses until you get to a rope. Shimmy it to the cave, drop down and go through the cave to the end, then jump up and grab the thin ledge on the left. Shimmy the ledge to the left (when shimmying ledges, use the right analog stick), pull yourself up to be in the cemetary. The Rotts won't hurt you unless you attack them, they just want to sniff you out so don't think they're trying to bite you. Enter the church to get the Teddy Bear signal (Hountfront Church, after every Teddy Bear signal I'll give the name of it so if you die you'll know where to warp to). Meet Nettie and watch the cut scene. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ HOUNTFORT CHURCH ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - FIRE AXE - SNIPER RIFLE - GOURD - 10 BIRD SKULLS - INCINERER - MP909S - DEACONS'S MESSAGE - 7 CADEAUX Okay, it's time to find Jaunty and Nettie gave you a Machete. Exit the church to the right of Nettie to be behind it. You'll see a house in front of you with a Cadeaux inside, but it's blocked by 2x4's, you need the axe to go in there. This part can be a little confusing so pay attention to detail. Follow the twisting turning path to the right of the house and IGNORE the first left you come to. Continue down the path, under a felled tree, to get to a large open area with a house. Wade through the water and look in the house to see a bunch of crates, inside one is a Cadeaux but you need the axe. Leave the house and go down the path on the right and you'll come to a water hole with a big tree in the middle. Wade through the water and go down the path on the right (the path ahead is the one you ignored previously) to enter an area with houses on the right and a path on the left that takes you to a crate with a Cadeaux inside it. Since you can't get the Cadeaux yet, go towards the houses and waste all the thugs. Inside each house are crates with a Cadeaux inside each house. Follow the path behind the houses to hear someone chanting. Emerge into area, get the Teddy Bear signal (Mapou Tree) and walk up to the tree to find Jaunty hanging upside down from it, watch the cut scene. You are now in the church and Nettie just gave you the Gourd and needs ten bird skulls to cure Jaunty. Go down the stairs that appeared in the cut scene and follow the tunnel all the way to the bottom with a campfire and some water. Grab the Fire Axe on the pile of dirt. Remeber this area, this is where you'll cash in Cadeaux for extra life and voddo magic later in the game after you've found L'Inferno. Now go to all the places I mentioned in the paragraph above to grab the five Cadeaux you needed the axe to retrieve, then warp back into the church. Leave the church by way of the main doors and go back into the Bayou. Where the rope is, go behind the house it's anchored to and spot a little house with 2x4's blocking the door, bust them down to find the Sniper Rifle. Warp to the Mapou Tree. Just past the tree are a bunch of barrels blocking the way. Stand back and shoot them with your rifle, when you use the rifle you can only use sniper mode. If you're too close when you shoot them, you'll be blown to smithereens. Go down the path to a lake and a hut will be on the left. Remember this area, next to the hut is a skin web blocking the way you need the Nephilim Shard to break. Shoot all the Alligators in the lake and then swim through the water along the right wall to a path. Follow the path to some 2x4's, break them down and enter an area with two houses and a shitload of thugs appear. Go into the houses to find the Incinerer and MP909S. Only Shadow Man can use voodoo weapons, not Mike. Warp to the church. Behind the house where you've found the Sniper Rifle are some barrels. Blow them out of your way and follow the path to a small pond with a sunken boat. Walk onto the dock in front of you to find the first bird skull. Wade through the pond and shoot the rocks blocking the tunnel ahead of you, a bird will fly out. Watch the flight path the bird takes and then shoot it with your rifle. Grab the skull it leaves behind. Head towards the tunnel and follow the path to the right of it to a camp fire. Remeber this spot, a voodoo item is up there you can grab when you find L'Inferno. Now head through the tunnel and emerge onto a huge lake with some boats, boathouses, and seven birds flying above the lake. Save the game. Don't resave your game until all the birds are shot and you've collected their skulls. Use your Sniper Rifle to shoot all the birds and then swim to the bottom of the lake to collect them. If you don't play FPS (first person shooter) games, then it's going to be a pain in the ass to shoot all the birds and can be very time consuming, just have some patience and sooner or later you'll snag all the skulls. MAKE SURE THE BIRDS ARE OVER THE WATER WHEN YOU SHOOT THEM! You don't want the skulls to land on top of the boat houses or on a ledge you can't get to. If one lands on a house or ledge, just restart the game. Remember that Mike has a limited air supply when he swims underwater but Shadow Man doesn't. Beware of all the Gators swiming around. Just one more skull to find. Go back to where you entered the lake area and stand by the wooden pylons and face the water. You'll see a boat going in a circle, wait for it to come to you and jump on it, ride it to the dock alongside the boat house and jump onto it. Bust the crate for a Cadeaux and then jump to the other dock for another red seed. Now dive in the water and look for a hole in the side of the boat house, to the right of the dock. Swim through the hole and climb the ladder for the last bird skull. Warp to the church and head down the stairs to meet up with Nettie and watch the next two cut scenes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ WILD AT HEART: PART TWO ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - PISTOL - FAUX - SHOTGUN - 1 CADEAUX Now it's time to find Mr. Deacon. Exit the Wild at Heart and go left, then hang an immediate left to follow the alley alongside the bar. Push the crate in and the camera will switch to an ariel view. If you're not Mike then wait until you turn into him if you want a Cadeaux. Push the next crate on the right in and then the one above it for a Cadeaux, you should now have ten. Turn around and push in a few more crates to come to a locked gate, bust it but don't head through it. Turn around and go back through the alley, hang a right and run past the Wild at Heart and hang a left at the intersection. Blow the barrels up ahead of you and head through the doorway they were blocking to be in an apartment complex. Go up the stairs and smash the crates, the door in front of you is locked so go through the door on the left. In this room are some breakable crates and non-breakable ones. Head through the door on the left and push a crate in to find the Pistol. Head out onto the balcony and go left to a locked door, shoot the lock off (this was the previously locked door when you entered this place). You'll notice that a piece of the balchony guardrail is missing, so jump to the balchony across the street if you need health and ammo, if not then leave this house by way of how you entered it. Go right and run straight into some more barrels, shoot them and enter the next apartment complex. Head up the stairs to be on another balchony, hang a left and open the first door you see to enter a hallway. Go through the door on the right to be in a room with some bloody torsos hanging from the ceiling, shoot them if you please. Head through the door in here to find another vodoo weapon, the Faux. Equip a gun if you don't have one in hand and shoot the three locks off the door. Go onto the balchony and kill that thug on the balchony across from you, AND MAKE SURE YOU SHOOT THE LOCK OFF THE DOOR HE IS STANDING BY. Now leave this house the way you came in and go right, continue along to the town square. Head along the fence to the left and you'll see a Lafayette st. sign with some barrels below it. Shoot the barrels and head up the stairs they were blocking and open the door. If the door is locked, then you didn't shoot it from the previous balchony. Go left to be on yet another balchony and push the large crate in on the right to find the Shotgun. Go back down the stairs and run straight into the cemetary. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ DEACON'S CRYPT ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - 2 CADEAUX There's crypts all around you and you'll hear Mike say "take my place among the angels." Go to the right to enter another area full of crypts, search the right corner to find a Cadeaux cleverly hidden behind a stone. Now look for two angel statues and stand on a large stone button in-between them to open up a door leading down into a crypt. Some zombies will rise up out of the ground if you're Shadow Man, test the Faux out on them to watch 'em all burn. Enter the crypt and just follow the tunnel past a whole bunch of coffins, all the pots you see contain ammo and stuff, open a few doors and you'll come to a large room and get the Teddy Bear signal (Deacon's Crypt). Head down the stairs to meet Thomas and watch a rather disturbing cut scene. Didn't that demon dude with the long arms look like Marilyn Manson? That dude was Asmodeus. Go to the right of Deacon and move that block out of the way, go up the winding staircase to find a Cadeaux. Now that you know what a Sigil is let's go find one. Sigils are to this game what Dark Souls were to the first Shadow Man. Warp to the Mapou Tree. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ PLANTATION: PART ONE ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - ZILCH, ZERO, NADDA Go down the path past the tree to the lake with the hut on the left. This is the water you seen rise in the previous cut scene. Swim across the lake, pull yourslef out and run into the tunnel to a pool of water. Dive in and swim through the tunnel and emerge into an area with a bunch of houses all around and a bunch of crates you can't destroy. Go into the house on the left and destroy the panel on the wall, this will make a door open on top of a ladder. Exit the house and follow the path to the ladder, wasting thugs everywhere, then climb it to destroy another panel to make another door open and part of a gate rise up. Climb back down the ladder and go back up the path you just came from and make a right, continue straight to the next right and enter the house in front of you to destroy the next panel, this makes a door open by the ladder. Go through that door, break the last panel to open the gate the rest of the way. Head through the gate and go left and down the stairs, follow the darkened coridoor to a bridge, cross it to be at a large steel door with a snake looking symbol on it. Drop into the area below and to your left and right are levers you must pull to open the door above you, Mini-Gargoyles will be released when you pull them so be on guard. They can become quite the nuisance. Climb up the ladder down here a re-cross the bridge, head through the door and down the stairs you go. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ DARK SEPULCHRE I ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - POCKET WATCH - 2 SIGIL'S - THE CODEX - NEPHILIM SHARD - 1 CADEAUX This will be a short, easy task to accomplish, one of the few. You'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Dark Sepulchre I). In front of you is a locked gate with a Sigil behind it and left is a locked gate so head down the corridor on the right and take the Pocket Watch off the pedestal. Now you change between Mike and Shadow Man at will if you use this. I usually play the rest of the game as Shadow Man, he just looks better and you can use the Shadowgun. When you take the watch, the gate at the other end of the coridoor opens up releasing an Abomination. Kill it to make the gate with the Sigil behind lower and take it. Down the corridor the hell hound came out of is a Cadeaux in a pot. Now warp to Deacon's Crypt to have a little chat with him, he'll give you The Codex, a Sigil, and the almighty Nephilim Shard. This is a pretty good plot for a video game don't you think? The story isn't as good as the first Shadow Man, but still good. Don't forget that you can re-watch a cut scene any time you want by going into your documents and selecting the cut scenes. Warp to the Mapou Tree. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ PLANTATION: PART TWO ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - NOTHING TO FIND HERE Run straight ahead and go to the hut on the lake. Use the Nephilim Shard to break the skin web to the left of the hut. Follow the path to some water and jump in, you have a long swim ahead of you and Mike will drown so switch into Shadow Man if you're not already. Swim through the long tunnel system grabbing a Cadeaux along the way (this remind anyone of the Playrooms in the first Shadow Man?), pull yourself out at the end onto the ledge with stairs on them. Kill some more thugs and break the panel on the wall by the stairs to open a door on a tower. Go up the stairs and follow the path to the left of the house and then make the first right. Follow the path to the tower, go behind it and break the panel on the wall to open a door elswhere in the plantation. Through the tower just takes you back to the other side of the plantation where the Dark Sepulchre was so don't bother going in it. Follow the path back to where you entered this area and continue along to the end. A shed will be on the left, blow the lock off and enter it to pull a lever to open the gate to the cave across from the shed. Head into the cave and then hang a left at the end to an elevator. Hop on, pull the lever and take a ride up. You are now in a large area with a big mansion on the right. Waste the Abomniation and enter the mansion. There are locked gates on either side of you, enter the room ahead of you and go up the stairs to a lever, pull it to open two gates. Go through the now open gate left of the main doors and then through two doors to be in a room with another Hell Hound. Waste it and pull the lever on the wall to open two more gates, now go through the newly opened gate to the right of the main doors to pull another lever to open two more gates. Go through the door at the bottom of the stairs and enter the room ahead of you to pull yet another lever to open the final gate leading to a place you don't want to go but have to. Follow the long hallway to a large room with another steel snake door. Pull the levers on the left and right of the hallway and enter the door. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ DARK SEPULCHRE II ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - DIAGENIUM - 1 SIGIL - SHADOW GUN - 2 CADEAUX Head down the stairs to get the Teddy Bear signal (Dark Sepulchre II), another creature will appear, kill it to get the Diagenium. Two gates lower, stand near the alcove opposite the stairs and turn around. Go into the room on the right with spinning blades in it. The gate slams shut and a bunch of enemies appear, kill them all to raise the gate back up and then pull the lever on the wall behind the blades to make another gate rise, a demon will appear and he wants to play. Kill the demon and then go down the corridor he exited to some spinning blades. Follow the blades around and look for a block to push in a little alcove, push it in and jump back, 'cause by pushing the block you reveal a spike pit. Jump over the spike pit and enter a large room with a hole in the middle. Drop into the hole to stand on a button which raises a large platform in the room above you, climb out of the hole. In three of the corners in this room are blocks you have to push in with levers you have to pull behind them to raise some more platforms, save the one with the stairs for last. Climb the stairs, the lever will be on the left, at the top of the stairs jump to the platform in front of you. Jump onto the platform to your right and jump to the thin ledge along the wall. Shimmy the ledge to the next platform and kick yourself onto it (X button). Jump into the corridor and run down the stairs to come to a halt at a gate. Pull the lever next to it to make it rise, and unlock the first half of another steel door with a snake symbol on it. Go to the left of the door and you'll see a fork, go down the corridor on the left, past the spinning blades to be in the room where you first entered this place. Now go into the room to the left of the stairs. Avoid the spinning scythes and kill all the enemies. Pull the lever on the wall to open another gate in the main room. Go through the newly opened gate and down the corridor to some more spinning blades. Push the block in on the left to enter another large room. Don't jump into the hole in here, it's a spike pit. Look for two blocks to push in, do it and pull the levers behind them to raise two platforms. Climb the small pedestal in-between the two blocks you just pushed in and jump to the Cadeaux on either side of you. Jump to the platform you just saw raise, jump over the spike pit and then into that corridor ahead of you. Head down the stairs to another gate, pull the lever next to it to raise it and the snake door will now be open, go through it to watch a cut scene and meet Pappa Morte. ********************************** BOSS ******************************* ********************************* BATTLE ****************************** When the scene is over and the fun begins, you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Recreant Vault). Take out your Incinerer and equip the Nephilim Shard. Just hit Morteth repeatedly with the shard when he gets close and then run away shooting some flames at him with your handy little mummified snake. He'll fly around the room and shoot projectiles at you, just run around until he comes back down and repeat this process until he dies. There's ammo and health all around the room in pots. You must finish him off with a Nephilim item, that goes for all the bosses. There's really no stratagies while fighting bosses. When you fight bosses in this game and die, and you will, their energy won't recharge as long as you don't quit the game. I think this totally sucks and makes the game ten times easier. Anyways, when he dies he'll leave behind your Shadow Gun and the last Sigil in Louisiana as a parting gift. Stand in the middle of the circle in this room and read from The Codex. A door will open up ahead of you so head on through. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ GEHENNA ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - DIAGENIUM - GAUNTLETS - 2 CADEAUX You'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Recreant Vault I) immediately entering this forsaken underworld. Kill the demons that appear to open up the door leading into the pit and then follow the coridor leading to it. You'll emerge into a gigantic circular chamber and the floor will be spinning. This is where you'll access the rest of the levels, notice all the doorways with the Grigori symbols above them? Five of those symbols are on The Codex, you just came from the snake symbol looking door. Look at your Codex and then go into the doorways that aren't on the book. In both of those rooms are a Cadeaux atop a flight of stairs and the way past them is blocked by a bunch of rubble. I don't think you can bust through that rubble, I tried with every item in the game and it won't blow up. There might be a way to get in there, but I doubt it. If anyone has gotten in there, please e-mail me and let me know how so I can add it to this guide. Return to the circular chamber. Before we can get to another level, we have to find the three Sigil's in this hell hole. Some Mini-gargoyles and demons will appear, kill them all to make a gate slide open next to an ugly demon statue. Head to that statue to get the Teddy Bear signal (The Pit). Head to the left of the statue and go through the gate you just saw open and grab the Diagenium in front of another statue. Behind the map are the Gauntlets, go pick them up and slap 'em on your wrists. You will wear these for the remainder of the game and cannot remove them. When you put these wicked wrist blades on a door will open up on the left. Head up the stairs and you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Sigil Chambers). ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ GEHENNA: SIGIL CHAMBERS ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - 3 SIGIL'S - 9 CADEAUX You'll see three Sigil's behind locked gates, kill the demon that appears and then go through the door that opens, follow the hallway to a room and drop into it. Some more demons will attack you, kill them to reveal a lever and pull it to raise a bunch of platforms. Climb the ladder and then jump across the platforms to the ledge with the Cadeaux on it, take it and then run through the glowing corridor to a room with a large pillar in the middle of it. Kill the annoying flying bastards that surround you (these things are forever hounding you like the Blood Sisters in the first Shadow Man so get used to them) and a lever will appear. Pull it to lower the pillar and then stand on the large stone button to open a door on the ledge where you just found a Cadeaux. Climb up the ladder and go left through the door that just opened up and you'll spot some orange glass in the floor, shoot it out and grab the Cadeaux in the hole, then climb out and take the Sigil ahead of you. The gate will lower, turn around and follow the corridor on the right and drop into another room. Kill all the freaks and a lever will appear. Pull it to make some thin platforms rise. This next part is really frustrating, for me anyways. You only have twenty seconds (I timed it) to climb the ladder and run across the thin ledges, and jump a couple of times too. The analog stick is too sensitive and the ledges way too thin, one millionth of an ounce of pressure in the wrong direction, and you'll fall off. You can't go slow either, you have to be quick about it. While on the ledges you'll see two alcoves with a Cadeaux in each, just jump into the alcoves to snag them. Have patience and eventually you'll get across. When you do, pull the lever on the left to make a ladder raise up to where you are now so if you die, you won't be subjected to this torture again. SAVE THE GAME! The last thing you want after doing this is for your game to freeze up on you, your dog to run by and pull the wires out of your PS2, or your girlfriend to shut it off and start whining about how you never spend time and talk with her, or some other unfortunate accident. Unexpected shit happens all the time so for God's sake man, save the game. Run through the corridor to another room, drop into it and pull the lever on the statue to make small ledges appear around the room, they don't retract so have no fear. Climb up the ladder and go left, past some spinning scythes and jump along the ledges around the room to grab a Cadeaux and stand on the button to lower a door. Go into the previous room and go left through the newly open door to another Sigil and a Cadeaux under the orange glass. From the Sigil, turn around and go through the hallway on the right and drop into a room. Kill the beasts to make a lever appear and prepare to get frustrated all over again for you have to run along thin ledges and make about twice as many jumps than before, all in twenty seconds or less. And the worst part is that you have to do it TWICE! Well, this is Shadow Man and you should have expected some really frustrating stuff you have to do to complete it. Still, I bet you want to slap the shit out of the level designers right about now. Pull the lever, run up the ladder and make a decision. Okay, you have a choice here. You can either run to the ledge with the Cadeaux on it (both of the ledges have one on it)that is FURTHEST away and pull the lever on the wall to make a ladder appear so you don't have to hop the thin ledges that far again, OR, you can jump to the ledge with the Cadeaux on it that's closest. Either way you have to do it twice so you mine as well jump to the ledge with the Cadeaux on it that's closest to you. Once you're up there, pull the lever to make a ladder appear to the ledge you're now on and enter the room with the huge spike pit. In this room are two thin beams moving back and forth. Slowly walk along the first one, wait for them to align and follow the second one, go left for another Cadeaux and stand on the button next to it to make a door open. Leave this room and now go to the other ledge, if you're lucky you've already went to it and made the ladder appear, Grab the Cadeaux and head through the corridor to another Sigil, don't shoot the orange glass out this time, it's a trap. Warp, or walk, to the pit and look at your Codex, search for the sign above the door that just became available by finding the last three Sigils, and walk through the coridoor into a large circular room and get the Teddy Bear signal (Recreant Vault II). Stand in the middle of the circle on the floor, read from the Codex and step through the doorway that opens up to explore the icy wasteland of Russia. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ RUSSIA ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - DIAGENIUM - 1 SIGIL - 2 CADEAUX When you start off, you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Recreant Vault). Shoot the floating Octapussies, or whatever the hell they are, and don't let them get close to you. From where you entered the vault, there are two narrow corridors on the right, go down either one and then another one to the right. Follow it to a room with spikes and jump onto the platform in the middle of it. Jump to the Cadeaux on the right and then jump to the lever on the left and pull it to open a door. Jump down into the corridor opposite of where you enterd this room and follow the stairs up to a ledge above Recrant Vault with a campfire on it. You'll see the doorway where you entered the vault below you, between the statues horns. Run STRAIGHT in-between the horns and an invisible ice bridge will appear. On the other side is another ledge with the Diagenium, take it and pull the lever behind it. Go back across the bridge and go through the door that just opened up on the right and follow the hallway to another spike pit. Jump to the left and pull the lever, then jump to the ladder on the other side of the pit and climb it. Go through the doorway up here and follow the corridor to a locked door. Next to it are two corridors, follow them both to a locked door and pull the levers, they open up doors leading into the vault, the second one you pull will open up that locked door you just passed. Go through that door that was previously locked, follow the hallway to some stairs and head on down to be in an area with a bunch of pillars all around. Look for a Cadeaux behind one of the pillars and then pull the lever in the back left corner to open up a door high above you revealing a Sigil (Kill the Mini-gargs first). Climb the shortest pillar by the lever and jump and climb your way up to the Sigil. When you take it a door will open behind you. Turn around and jump the pillars to the newly open door on the left, pull the lever to lower an elevator and ride it up. Head down the flight of stairs and pull the lever at the bottom to open up a gate, and then head up the other flight of stairs in this room. Walk up another flight of stairs and pull yourself up to be in a church. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ RUSSIA: FORGOTTEN RUINS ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - L'INFERNO - SECOND SHOTGUN - 6 CADEAUX You'll get the Teddy Bear signal right away (Forgotten Ruins). Head to that room on the right, the one on the left has ammo in it if you're low, and exit the church. The screen will turn red, head to the left to find a Cadeaux on the side of the church. Turn around and follow the path to a locked shed that will be on the left, shoot the lock off and grab the L'Inferno inside of it. Exit the shed, equip your new magic toy, and head straight into that campfire to warp to the fire on the other side of the fence. The screen will turn red again and a foe will appear (this will happen a few more times after this, I will only mention it once), this is the boss you will fight later in the level and you CANNOT inflict any damage on it yet so just ignore it. Run through an icy cave and emerge into a large area with a hut in front of you, you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Forest Hut). Go up to the hut, climb the broken ladder and go inside to find another Shotgun and a Cadeaux. Exit the hut and go to the right, past a broken fence. You'll see a few discolored pieces of ice, go stand on one and you'll fall into some water, swim to the bottom and take the Cadeaux, then climb out. Follow the fence to a path and head down it, ignoring the right turn. At the end of the path is a Cadeaux, turn around and go down the path you just ignored to find another Cadeaux. Drop off the ledge into some water, go forwards to be back to the hut and go into the cave on the far left. You'll emerge into a forested area with a campfire in the middle of the trees, you can't warp in this one. Go to the left and you'll see another cave, shoot the ice blocking the enterance and follow the cave to yet another Cadeaux. Go bck into the forest, past the fire to that shack on the left, blow the lock off the door and enter the mine shaft. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ RUSSIA: MINES ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - 0.9 GPMG - FAMINE - 2 SIGIL'S - 8 CADEAUX Follow the shaft, jumping over numerous pools, and you'll come to a large room. Go to the right to enter another large room with a campfire (don't warp through it yet) and a locked door to the left. You'll also get the Teddy Bear signal (Mines). Look for the lever in here (its to the right of the fire) and pull it to make the door open. As soon as you enter the door, you'll see two statues holding a globe, shoot the globes to make a platform raise in another room. Go down the hallway on the right to another statue, shoot the globe out and the one at the other end of the hall to make another platform raise. Enter the room you just passed and shoot the four globes to raise another platform and extend a rope across the room. Kill all the beasts that appear and then climb on the platform with an alcove, grab the Cadeaux in there and do the same for the platform next to it. Climb the platform with the rope and shimmy your way across, drop down and grab that Sigil on a ledge above you, to the right. Taking it makes a door open below you, go through it and follow the long corridor to a large room with some water in it, dive in and search for two Cadeaux on the bottom, then surface and climb the ladder. Pull the three levers on the wall just ahead of you to make three platforms rise, making a bridge across the water. Quickly jump across them before they sink and climb the ladder on the left. Follow the circular chamber to a block in the wall, push it in to open a door right next to you. Walk up to the fire (you can't warp through it) and grab the Cadeaux to make some demons appear. Kill them all to open a door in the back of the room on the right, go in there for another Sigil. Warp to the Mines. Now warp through the fire to the other side of the fence and follow the narrow shaft to a pool, jump up to grab a ledge, pull yourself up, and climb a couple of ladders and eventually you'll emerge outside with a big Bell Tower in front of you, you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Bell Tower). Switch to the sniper rifle and shoot the bell in the tower to make it fall through the floor. Go into a Leantoo on the left and look behind the logs for the 0.9 GPMG. Now were talking. Kill the Gorilla Demon that appears to open the gate exiting this area, but don't go through it yet. Go into the houses on either side of the Bell Tower to find a Cadeaux in each. Now go and climb the ladder in the bell tower to find some more voodoo magic, Famine. Head through the gate and enter the cave, shooting the ice blocking your way, snagging another Cadeaux, and you'll emerge onto an icy lake, watch the cut scene. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ RUSSIA: ICY LAKE ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - 3 SIGIL'S - 4 CADEAUX ************************************ BOSS ***************************** *********************************** BATTLE **************************** You'll get the Teddy Bear signal right away (Icy Lake). The battle area consists of chunks of ice floating on the lake, there's a Cadeaux in the upper left corner. This boss isn't hard at all, none of them are actually. Under the water is a lot of ammo so if you get low, just take a swim. Just jump from ice chunk to ice chunk and kill Babeyaga from a distance, preferably with fully charged Shadow Gun wraiths. She'll toss projectiles at you and if she gets too close to you, she'll wrap her arms around you and suck you dry, of life that is. When she's taken enough damage, she'll be still, but not for long, so go and whack her with the Nephilim Shard to finish her off. She won't die unless you hit her with the shard. She'll leave behind a Sigil, take it and the gate by the non-warping campfire will open, go through it. Follow another mine shaft, when you get to broken mine car tracks, just jump up to be on them. When you drop down, head left and follow the tracks down into a pool, keep going and when you see a Cadeaux, go down the shaft on the left. You'll emerge into an area with a gate, two mine cars, and a lever. Pull the lever to make a mine car smash though the gate and fall into some water. Go behind the gate for a Sigil, swim to the bottom of the lake for a Cadeaux. Climb the ladder exiting the water, go up the shaft that led you here, hang a left and go down the shaft just past the Cadeaux to some water. Jump along the ledges through the water and you'll come up to a mine car and get the Teddy Bear signal (Railway Bridge). Hop in the mine car and ride across the tracks, disabling some laser traps in the process. Hop out and head into the corridor to the left for the last Sigil in Russia. Jump into the lake that you just rode over and grab the Cadeaux on the bottom. Warp to the church in Louisiana. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ LOUISIANA ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- FILLING UP YOUR LIFE/VOODOO METER -- ITEMS TO FIND: - GUERRE - 4 CADEAUX Head down the stairs and go to the campfire at the bottom of the tunnel. Use it to warp up to the ledge above you, make sure you grab the Cadeax in the pot to your left. Pull the lever to make the water level rise on your right. Okay, you have a choice to make here. There's a large yellow altar next to you, this is for filling up your voodoo magic meter. If you'd rather fill up your life meter first (which I highly recommend), then swim to the red altar to the right of the water you just raised, there's a Cadeaux in a pot in there too. Each altar takes ten Cadeaux. If you are following this guide, you should have 47 Cadeaux, enough to fill up four notches on your life or voodoo meter. I will not mention this place again so whenever you find ten more Cadeaux, return here and trade them in. Exit the church by way of the main doors and go down the path behind the shack where you found the Sniper Rifle, when you get to the tunnel just past the sunken boat, go down the path to the right and warp through the fire at the end. Follow the path to a pond, grab the Cadeaux on the bottom, surface and then grab the next voodoo item, Guerre. Warp to the Wild at Heart. Make your way to the town square and shoot (must use the Shadow Gun) the lock off the gate with the statue behind it, grab the Cadeaux behind the statue and then warp to Gehenna: The Pit. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ GEHENNA: THE ARENA ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - NEPHILIM SHIELD - 7 CADEAUX Take a look at The Codex, enter the doorway now available since finding all the Sigil's in Russia, and follow the hallway to a large chamber, you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Recreant Vault III). Stand in the cirle in the middle of the room and read from the evil book, and the doorway in front of you will open, along with another door behind that hideous statue in the pit. The door in front of you takes you to Ireland, but don't head there just yet. Go behind that ugly statue in the pit and head up the stairs on the left. When you see the orange glass, don't shoot it, it's a spike trap. Go to the right and you'll see more orange glass, shoot it for a Cadeaux. Continue down the hallway and you'll see the screen go red, after that kill the demon that is charging you to release one lock on the thing-a-ma-jiggy housing the shield. Head down the corridor it came from and you'll emerge into the arena and get the Teddy Bear signal (The Arena). Go through the doorway and follow the corridor to two more demons, kill them to release the second lock. Continue along to another orange plate in the floor, shoot it out to collect a Cadeaux. Head up the stairs next to you to be in a room with a bunch of pillars, kill the demons to open a door and don't forget about the Cadeaux behind a pillar. Head back down the stairs and then go up the ones directly across from you and follow the hallway to a room with a checkered floor. Kill all the annoying cretants flying around to release the third lock and reveal a lever below you. Go left, past the broken bridge, and drop down to the lever and pull it, this fixes the bridge. Drop down to that orange glowing lava and snag the Cadeaux, then climb the two ladders and cross the bridge. Head into the room on the left to find another Cadeaux and pull the lever on the wall to lower a window. Recross the bridge and go right, then through the window you just lowered to be in the room with the shield still locked below you. On the ledges you're now on, there's two Cadeaux. Snag them and kill all the cretants flying around to release the fourth and final lock, drop into the arena below you. Kill all the statues that come to life to reveal another lever. Pull it to raise the glass housing the Nephilim Shield and go grab it. Warp to Recreant Vault III and head through the door to be in Ireland. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ IRELAND ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - NEPHILIM BLADE - 1 CADEAUX First off, there is a major texture map glitch on this level, I don't know if it's just my used copy. If the map is covered in plaid, you're just going to have to deal with it even though it is hideous to look at and super annoying. I thought Acclaim was making fun of the Irish the first time I played the game, but the second time the map didn't turn plaid until halfway through the level, and the third time I played the game (when I wrote this) the map was normal all the way through. It doesn't affect game play but I thought I'd warn you in case you ran into this problem. If it is a glitch, I don't know how in the hell it slipped past the graphic designers and programmers, they ought to be fired. This level is huge and it will take you a while to finish it. You'll start off in the Recreant vault and get the Teddy Bear signal (Recreant Vault). There are doorways to your left and right that lead to Sigil's locked behind gates that you won't be collecting for quite some time. Go straight and pull a lever to make two ladders drop down on either side of you, climb one of them for the Nephilim Blade. Go into the corridor behind you (the ones to your left and right take you to locked Sigil's) and you'll see it split off to the right and left, go up either one being weary of the spikes jabbing through the floor, ignoring the stairs branching off, and stand on the button you'll see. Turn around and go down the passage on the left, then hang another left and go through the room with spinning blades and emerge into a room with a thin ledge and statue heads moving in and out of the walls trying to push you off the ledge. Drop into the room below the walkway and push the four buttons on the wall to reveal four alcoves across from them, one of them has a Cadeaux in it. Climb the ladder and run across the thin ledge. It may take you several attempts, just time the statue heads and run really fast across the ledge without stopping. When you're finally across, run past the spikes trying to stab the shit out of you and go up the tunnel on the left to emerge outside in a busted up church. You'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Moytura Abbey). ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ IRELAND: MOYTURA ABBEY ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - DIAGENIUM - 4 CADEAUX Run straight to exit the church and you'll be in a big field. Some zombies will rise up out of the ground and a big knight will bust through some rocks, avoid the knight, it's the level boss and you can't inflict any damage upon it yet. He'll shoot stuff at you, just try your best to avoid the rounds. Behind the church is a Cadeaux. You'll see some boulders that can be destroyed once you find Colle. Across from the church is a path, but it's locked by a gate. Go to the left of the path and you'll spot a big block, push it in, then push the button behind it to open up the gate. Head through the now open gate and follow the tunnel to a marsh. The knight will appear again, run past him and then go up the incline behind him and take the SECOND left to a lake. Swim along the surface and you'll see a button behind a locked gate, swim through the tunnel beneath you, pull yourself out of the water to push a button to open the gate blocking the other button. Swim back through the tunnel and push the button to open a gate leading into another tunnel. Head back down the path that led you here, go right and take the next right to the tunnel you just opened. Follow it to a big open field with ruined houses all around. To the right is a house with a Cadeaux in it, go behind it and up the incline to push yet another large stone button to open the gate right of it. Head through it and follow the tunnel to a big area with some boulders to the right and a big tower in front of you. Walk towards the tower and drop into the water far below, enter the tower and grab the Diagenium inside the pot, push the button on the wall, and then swim to the bottom of the well in here for a Cadeaux. Exit the tower and go up the path across from it, cross a bridge (careful now, some of the planks fall off) and go past the pile of boulders, and stop at the end. You'll probably fall back down into the water quite a few times if you haven't already. Jump into the tower and pull yourself into it. Jump straight across, not to your left or right, to push in antoher button to raise a little platform on the side of the tower. Turn around and you'll see a small ledge on the side of the tower, there's a Cadeaux inside the pot. Climb back into the tower and then jump to that big wooden platform on the left. Follow it past the wooden bridge to a button you get to stand on instead of pushing, wow, variety. Now cross the wooden bridge, being weary of the falling planks, follow the path to the left to push yet another button. Talk about redundancy, goddamn, and there's like a hundred more buttons on this level. Make your way back into the tower and jump to that stone pillar directly ahead of you, then make a super jump to the right and follow the path to a Sepulchre, you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Sepulchre I). ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ IRELAND: SEPULCHRE I ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - 3 SIGIL'S - 2 CADEAUX The gate slams shut behind you and to your left and right are locked Sigil's. Ahead of you are two levers and another locked Sigil, pull the lever on the left to open the door next to it, go through it to spot another lever, ignore it for now. Follow the passage to the left to a button, stand on it to lower a gate to a Sigil. Now go pull the lever you just ignored, head through the door that opens up and look for two buttons to stand on, one lowers a gate leading to another Sigil and the other one opens up a small cavern with a Cadeaux inside and a button you must stand on to open up a gate way earlier in the level. Exit this cave and go right, left, right, and right again to collect the first Sigil in this level. When you take it, the fence around it will lower, head straight to be back in the main room. Go pull the lever you didn't pull before, head through the door that opens up and follow the hallway to a room with a button and a lever inside. Stand on the button to lower another gate leading to a Sigil, and pull the lever to open a door to the right of it, but the way is blocked by a gate. Go down the hallway to the left of the lever, not the hallway you came in by, and snag the next Sigil to make the gate lower in the previous room. Go through that gate and a Sigil will be on the left so take it, there's also a Cadeaux in that room to the right where the demon came out of. Warp to Moytura Abbey. Make your way to the large area with ruined houses all around and look for a ledge to climb opposite of where you pushed a button in this area earlier. This is the gate you unlocked while inside the Sepulchre. Climb the ledge and push the button to open a gate. Drop down and go to the left, enter the cave and wade through some water, go through the gate that you just made open and you'll emerge into an area with a big pillar with a campfire on top of it and a Cadeaux. To the left of the pillar are two blocks, push them in and enter the cave, drop down to be in another Sepulchre, stay Mike because more blocks are just ahead. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ IRELAND: SEPULCHRE II ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - GRIMOIRE INFERNALE - 4 SIGIL'S - 1 CADEAUX Push in the next block to be inside the second Sepulchre. Run through the spike trapped corridor, ignore the stairs going down on the right, they just take you to a locked Sigil. You'll come across another block, push it in. You'll immediately see stairs going down on the left, ignore them, they take you back to where you've found the sword. Go down the stairs in front of you, waste the demons and continue along to a corridor that branches left and right. This part can be really confusing so pay attention to detail and follow these directions to a tee. Go down the hall on the right, stand on the button to lower a door to your left, just ammo inside. Continue along to a hallway to the right, a locked Sigil is down there so continue along to another button, stand on it and continue through the passage to another button and a set of stairs going down on the right. Stand on the button to lower a gate leading to a Sigil and ignore the stairs next to you for now (or go down them just to get the Teddy signal in case you die). Continue through the corridor on the left, you'll see another corridor going right, ignore it, when you get to another button, stand on it and then take the Sigil on the right. When the gate lowers, go straight to a button and a locked grate to the left of it. Stand on the button to open up the grate and a gate will open up elsewhere outside. Drop into the hole you just revealed, push in the block and follow the long corridor to find Grimoire Infernale, read if if you want. I'd advise you don't, it's so long and boring it's like reading those two page ten thousand word ads for Zoloft in Time magazine that nobody gives two shits and a squirt about. Opposite this moronic tale is a Cadeaux. Go back through the passage that led you here, climb out of the hole, back past where you found the last Sigil and go right to spot another button. Stand on it to lower a gate to a Sigil and then take the Sigil just past the block you pushed in to enter this area, on the right. Turn around, don't go through the gate that lowers, go right and down the stairs you'll see to get the Teddy Bear signal (Sepulchre II). Drop into the room below and pull the two levers on the wall to lower the blocks above them. Go up the stairs exiting this room, go left down the hallway to be back where you've dropped down. Follow the ledge to the right to run past the blocks you just lowered and you'll come to a hallway branching off to the left and right. This is just a big looping circle, so go down the hall on the right and stand on three buttons, one of them lowers a gate to a locked Sigil, go to it on the right and take it. Turn around and hang a right in the hallway, then go down the next one on the right to a button, stand on it to make a rope go across the room below you. Drop into the room and make your way up to the rope, shimmy it across the room and drop onto another button, this makes demons appear below you. Drop down there and kill them, then go into the alcove they came out of and stand on the button in there to lower the gate to the Sigil and then shimmy the rope again to grab it. Are you sick of all these damn buttons yet? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ IRELAND: THE CROMLECH ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - COLLE - GRENADE LAUNCHER - L'ORAGE - 5 CADEAUX Make your way out of this Sepulchre to be back at the pillar with the Cadeaux on it where the knight was attacking you, go through the cave on the left (this is the gate you saw open via the button in the Sepulchre), dive in the water and swim through the tunnel, then surface and get out of the water. Exit the cavern and go RIGHT. The path is just on big circle so continue down the path, the knight will appear again and you still can't harm him, when you get to a cave on the right enter it. Run through it to a button and push it in to open a gate not far from you, DO NOT drop off the ledge to the right of the button unless you want to be at the beginning of the level. Head back through the cavern, hang a right at the path, then go into the next cave you come across on the right. You'll emerge into an area with some Stonehenge looking thing in front of you. Go to the left and warp through the fire to get that Cadeaux on the pillar you've probably been going nuts trying to figure out how to get it. Warp back through the fire and look for a block to push in, push the button behind it to open a door leading under the stone structure, go through it to get the Teddy Bear signal (The Cromlech). Drop down a few ledges and you'll see boulders all over the place. You'll see a Cadeaux on a thin ledge to the left, jump to the ledge and shimmy it to the Cadeaux, then kick yourself off on the ledge just past the Cadeaux. Above you is another ledge, climb it to snag Colle, it's a voodoo bomb. Now use the Colle to break open all the boulders in this area to find the Grenade Launcher, a bunch of rounds for it, and a Cadeaux. The one with the Cadeaux is just to the right of entering this cave. Stand far back when these babies blow or you'll die. If you want another voodoo item and two more Cadeaux, then go to the circular path just before the Cromlech and blow the boulders out of the way to find a Cadeaux in a cave. Warp to Moytura Abbey and blow the boulders to find another Cadeaux, make your way to all the ruined houses and look for the boulders to blow to get L'Orage. All the other boulders you've seen throughout the level only have ammo behind them, warp back to the Cromlech. Shimmy the ledge the Cadeaux was on previously and kick yourself onto the ledge. Turn around and make a few jumps to a tunnel, follow it to some boulders and blow them out of the way to enter the last Sepulchre in Ireland. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ IRELAND: SEPULCHRE III ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - CHALICE - MALIGNUM - 5 SIGIL'S - 7 CADEAUX You'll be in a small room with a fire in it, warp to the ledge above you via the fire if you need some health and ammo. Leave this room and enter the large room next to it with a ladder, campfire, three doorways, and a large grate in the middle. Run into the small room directly across from the one you just left, warp through the fire to find a Cadeaux on the ledge. Drop down and go back into the large room, warp through the camp fire to collect the Chalice, this will cure Jaunty but wait until you finish this level before you heal him. Drop down into the room below, or use the fire to get back down there, and climb the ladder, follow the ledge around to a lever to make the large grate in the floor open up, don't go down there yet. Drop back down into the room and go into the door to the right of the small room where you just grabbed a Cadeaux. Pull the lever in here and get the Teddy Bear signal (Sepulchre III). A door lowers and some demons attack, kill them and pull the lever in the room they came out of. Head down the corridor next to this lever, run past some spinning scythes and collect the Sigil, don't go through the gate that lowers. Go back into the room with the hole in it, climb the ladder and follow the ledge to the left, then go down the passage on the right, pass two sets of spinning blades and press the button on the wall that will be on the right to make some statue heads start moving in another room. Continue down the passage, avoiding the spikes jabbing out of the floor, and press the next button you see to make a second set of statue heads start moving. Go left, past some more spinning scythes to find a Sigil. Turn around, where the spikes are jabbing out of the floor, there are two little windows on the right, jump through either one to be in the room with moving statue heads. You can also get to this room by way of the room with the hole in it. Head down the incline to a door, it will open up and a demon will charge you, pull the lever in the room the demon came from to make a rope appear above you. Climb up the ladder, go past the moving heads, shimmy the rope to the other side of the room, head past the second set of moving heads, then head down the corridor on the right to another Sigil. Taking it makes a door open up in the room with the hole in it, so make your way back to that room. Climb up the ladder and go right, then enter the door you just made open up. Take the Cadeaux on that grate and kill the demon that appears, then pull the lever where the demon came from to open up the grate. Drop into the hole, slap some Colle on the boulders, when they blow follow the tunnel to a thin ledge with a Cadeaux on it, below you are some more boulders you can blow for one Cadeaux. Shimmy the ledge to the Cadeaux, drop down on the other side, jump to a few ledges behind you and go down the tunnel to emerge into a large room with fireballs shooting all over the place. This next part can be a real pain in the ass, so have some patience and you'll get through it. You'll see a Cadeaux on the left and the passage you need to get to on the right. Most of the tiles on the floor fall when you step on them, to get to the Cadeaux, try to hug the wall. If you fall through, which I guarantee you will, look for some boulders to blow, press a button across the water, then swim through the water to the right, climb a ladder and go down the tunnel to try again. When you finally reach the passage after falling god knows how many times, you'll be rewarded with a Sigil. By taking it you'll see a door open, this leads to the bosses lair so let's go kick his ass. Warp to Sepulchre III and now drop down the hole you've been ignoring all this time. Dive into the water and swim to the bottom, to your left and right are spinning blades, swim towards the set of blades with the Cadeaux above it, take it and then swim past it (there's nothing to find by going through the other set of blades), then pull yourself out of the water, pull the lever on the wall and drop down into the hole. Follow the pipe you're now in to a ladder, climb it and continue along to another ladder, go up and through the gate up here to get the Teddy Bear signal (Durocha's Lair). ************************************* BOSS **************************** ************************************ BATTLE *************************** The battle area is just a giant rectangular room with a shitload of pots all around full of ammo, life, and voodoo magic. Drop down into the room below and grab the lonely Cadeaux you see to trigger a cut scene. When it's over, Durocha will chase you around, shooting at you. Pop about ten grenade rounds in him and he'll fall to the floor and his head will pop off. Inside his head was a red Mini-gargoyle that will begin to fly around and shoot at you. Durocha's headless body will also be chasing you around, don't fight the body 'cause you can't harm it, kill the demon that was in his head. Use the L'orage, it's a very useful weapon. When the thing that was in this poor shmucks head falls to the floor, use your Nephilim Sword or Shard to finish it off. When it's finally dead, it will leave behind the Malignum as a wonderful parting gift. Take it and go up the stairs for the last Sigil in Ireland. Now warp to Hountfort Church in the Bayou to heal Jaunty, then warp to Boneyard: Deadside Canyon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ BONEYARD: DEADSIDE CANYON ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - PESTE - DIAGENIUM - 3 CADEAUX Now we finally get to explore Deadside extensively, it's about time. Wow, this place really came to life since the last time you were here at the beginning of the game. This is the exact spot you were in at the start of the game, so follow the path, wasting Duppies everywhere, and you'll come across the Teddy Bear signal (Boneyard Gates). Jaunty is straight ahead guarding the Marrow Gates, don't talk to him yet. Warp through the campfire you see to follow the exact same path to where you found the Teddy Bear, Peste will be where the bear was. The only difference along this path from the first time you went down it, instead of a rope to shimmy across the gap, there's a little wooden cage to make it across the chasm. When you get Peste (the crappiest weapon in the game, don't even use it), warp to the gates and have a little chat with Jaunty, then he'll open up the gates for you. Head through the gates and then go into the hut on the right for a Cadeaux, leave and walk towards the hut directly across from you and head down the path on the right to emerge in an area with some huts sitting atop stalagmites. Look for a thin path along the right wall and take it up to a hut. You'll see a broken bridge leading to some more huts, don't cross it yet. Go into the hut to the left of the bridge and pull the lever on the wall to raise the first half of a skull gate. Next to this hut is another one above you, climb up to it and blow the 2x4's off the door and take the Diagenium inside. Jump across the broken bridge, go through the hut and you'll see two more to your left and right. Go to the one on the left to find a Cadeaux behind it, then blow the planks off the other hut and pull the lever inside to open up the rest of the skull gate. Head through the gate and drop down into an area with humongous bloodfalls pouring into a pool of blood, there's a locked gate directly ahead of you. You'll see a large Gargoyle type creature reveal itself, that's the level boss. He'll pester you now and then, the only way he'll stop bothering you is to shoot him a few times. Dive into the blood pool, swim to the bottom grabbing a Cadeaux in the process, swim through the tunnel with spinning blades and surface. Look for a cracked wall behind one of the small blood falls, smack a wasp on it and then push the button behind to open the gate in the room with the larger blood falls. Swim back through the tunnel, then head through the gate you just opened. Go up the very long tunnel and you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (The Well of Blood). Next to you is a button, ignore it. Jump into the wooden cage and then jump onto the long wooden bridge. Follow the bridge to the right and press the button to make that wood cage you were just in lower and another on will raise. Go along the bridge to another button, press it to make the bridge move, then jump to the wood cage and into the coridoor. If you happen to fall off, that button you ignored when you got the warp signal will reset the bridge and cage. Follow this long tunnel to another wood cage, jump into it and then onto another bridge. Head down the bridge to the left and press the button at the end, this will make the bridge move. Follow the bridge to the other side, press the button to raise another cage. Jump on it, then into the tunnel behind it and follow it up to a rope. Shimmy the rope to the other side of this gigantic pit. You can't kill those things flying around so watch their flight path, don't let them fly into you while you're on the rope or they'll send you plumeitng to the bottom of the pit, and if that happens, it sucks to be you. When safely across the rope, drop down and head forwards to get the Teddy Bear signal (Duppie Village). ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ BONEYARD: DUPPIE VILLAGE ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - EXPLOSER - MORT - 7 CADEAUX This village can be very, very confusing so pay attention to detail, follow these directions to a tee and you shouldn't have any problems. Walk forwards through the hut and drop down into the area far below. To your left and right are spinning wooden platforms but they're anchored to the ground. Go shoot the four rings off each of them to make them raise high above you. You'll see huts close by that you can't get to, while FACING them looking towards the stairs, go up the stairs behind them on the LEFT. When there's no more stairs to climb, pull yourself up onto the ledge above you, then another one. Go up some more stairs to another ledge above you, climb it and follow the path to a hut, grab the Cadeaux behind it and then press the button inside to raise a platform. Go down the path that led you here and when you get to the last ledge you climbed, climb to another one above it. Ignore the path in front of you and go up the stairs on the right and then go up the first path you get to on the left, don't continue up the stairs. Follow the path, crossing tiny wooden bridges, and you'll see one of the spinning platforms you raised. Jump onto it, then jump onto the wooden platform behind it, follow it to a ladder and climb it. Follow the bridge to the end where those voodoo skulls are and jump into the tunnel on the left. Follow the tunnel to the first right, take it and then drop into a hut. Exit the hut and hang a right, follow the path to a Cadeaux and turn around. Run back down the path past the hut, drop down off a ledge and you'll see a hut ahead of you, jump to it and get the Teddy Bear signal (Swinging Hut). Turn to your left and walk to the edge, look down and you'll see a hut far below you, jump to it to find the Exploser inside. Exit this hut and to the right of it are four rings anchoring the hut high above, shoot them to make the hut start spinning. Warp back up to the Swinging Hut. Wait for the spinning huts door to align with you and jump into it. Go to the other door and when it spins past a path, jump to it. Follow the path and when you see a hut suspended by ropes, drop down. Shoot the four rings to make the hut start spinning. Go towards the big blood lake, you'll see a boat, this is how you'll be exiting this level. Swim to the right, and when you see some pots on the right, climb out of the water and grab the Cadeaux in one of the pots. Continue to the right and when you see four rings anchoring a bridge, shoot them to make the bridge rise. Head towards the boat and climb the stairs to get the Teddy Bear signal (Demon Statue). Warp back to the Swinging Hut. Jump into the spinning hut, then jump to the path and follow it to another spinning hut. Jump inside of it and then jump to another path, follow it to be inside of a large hut. Press the button on the wall to open up the gates in front of the boat and continue along to another hut, grab the Cadeaux and push in another button to raise another bridge next to the hut. Jump to the bridge, then to the path on the other side of it and follow the path to another hut, you'll also get the Teddy Bear signal (Secret Path). Push the button inside the hut to raise a bridge, exit the hut left of the button, cross the bridge to be back in a tunnel. It should look familiar, you were just here a minute age, run through the tunnel and ignore the corridor on the right. At the end of the tunnel is a rope, jump to it and shimmy it down to collect a Cadeaux on the platform. Jump back up to the rope and shimmy it all the way up to a hut. Drop down and then enter the hut to push in another button to raise a platform. Go behind the hut for a Cadeaux, you'll see a flag on the left, jump to the ledge behind it, it's hard to see but it's there. Grab the Cadeaux and then follow the path to a tiny wooden bridge, keep following the path to the end. Jump to the path across from you and follow the path to some stairs, go up them to another gap, jump across to the small wooden ledge. Continue along the path and jump over two more gaps. At the end will be a spinning platform, jump to it and then jump onto the wooden platform on the right to snag Mort, the last weapon to find in the game to add to your extensive arsenal. Warp to the Demon Statue and take a boat ride. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ISLE OF THE DEAD ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - 2 SIGIL'S - 6 CADEAUX I'm sorry to say that this is the last level in the game. It's a fairly short level too, it shouldn't take you that long. When the boat ride is over, you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (The Resting Place). Stay on the boat and jump to ledge on the right, the one with the campfire. Pull yourself up and then warp through the fire, kill all the monsters and go left of the fire. Jump to the ledge beneath you and grab the Cadeaux behind the pillar. Warp through the campfire up here and you'll be high above the lake with a building next to you housing a Sigil. You can't get inside to building to grab the Sigil but you can grab the Cadeaux on the side of it. Drop down to the right of the fire, warp through the next one you see, drop off the ledge and you'll see a blood lake on the right. It's really dark around here so equip the Chalice to act as a light if you're having trouble seeing. Wade through the shallow blood water and climb the ladder, then climb the next two. Go down the stairs on the right and drop down into a corridor, paste some Colle on the cracked wall on the left for a Cadeaux. Follow the corridor to another cracked wall and blow a hole through it. Continue along and drop down a few ledges to a lava pit. Jump into the corridor on the right, it's hard to see but trust me it's there. If you're having some difficulty jumping into it, try running from the back left corner of the ledge you're on and jump into it at an angle. When you're finally in there, a door will open. Go through it to get the Teddy Bear signal (Spike Trap). On the other side of the lava pit on a thin ledge is a Cadeaux, jump along the thin ledges around the lava pit to snag it. Go back into the spike pit, kill all the cretants and pull the lever at the bottom of the stairs to extend a rope across the room. Shimmy the rope to a Sigil and be sure to take the Cadeaux to the left of it. Drop down onto the checkered floor and smack a wasp on the cracked wall to blow a hole in it. Go through the hole to be in a glowing corridor. To your right is a locked door, that is where the level boss is hiding out, it will be a while before we go in there. Straight ahead is a Cadeaux behind the wall. Go down the corridor to the left and you'll run into another Sigil. Keep on truckin' down the hall to a lever, pull it to make a statue lower elswhere in this level with a Sigil behind it. Warp to Gehenna: The Pit, look at The Codex and head through the door now available since finding all the Sigil's in Ireland, you'll get the warp signal (Recreant Vault IV). Stand in the middle of the circle on the floor, read from the book and head through the door that opens. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ISLE OF THE DEAD: SEPULCHRE ENTERANCE ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - DIAGENIUM - 2 SIGIL'S - 1 CADEAUX All the demons for the rest of the level will be about twice as strong as they were in all the prvious levels, so get ready for some tough battles. Head directly into the corridor across from you and you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Sepulchre Entrance). Pull the lever ahead of you to make a ladder raise in the next room, go down the corridor left of the lever and drop into the room, grab the Diagenium, then climb up the ladder on the other side of the room. A door will lower, follow the hallway on the left, not the one straight ahead of you, enter a room with a moving platform above you (you can't get to it yet), and you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (The Lava Pit). Snag the Sigil behind the statue you lowered via the lever in the Spike Trap. The boss will reveal himself, just ignore it and run into the corridor you came from and then go down the one on the left, drop into the room and kill all the demons, then use the Malignum to shoot the two glowing globes on the wall to lower a door. Go through it to enter a room with a blood pool and two levers across from you. Grab the Cadeaux on the bottom of the pool, then pull the levers to raise two platforms in the room you just came from. Go back into that room, climb the ladder and jump across the two platforms. There's a hallway in front of you and one to the left. Go down the one on the left and look for three cracked walls to blow with Colle. Past the Colle on the third cracked wall and you should blow all three with one Colle. Behind those cracks are a Sigil and a lever you must pull to lower another statue in the Lava Pit. Leave this corridor and then head into the one on the left and follow it to a blood pool, you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Blood Pool). ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ISLE OF THE DEAD: BLOOD POOL ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ITEMS TO FIND: - 8 SIGIL'S - 2 CADEAUX Go across the bridge on the left and jump into the corridor, pull the lever on the wall to raise a gate in the blood pool. Go dive in the blood and swim through the gate, look for a Cadeaux on the bottom and then surface to find another Sigil, taking it lowers a door in the room where you just pulled a lever. Swim back through the blood the way you came and climb the ladder on the left, cross the bridge and go through the newly open door on the right to find yet another Sigil. Go to the hallway that led you to the blood pool and blow up the cracked wall in it, go up the stairs and follow the corridor to a room with a ledge going to the left and an orange glow beneath you. Drop down into the glow and you'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Mutant's Lair). Run straight ahead for another Sigil. Turn around and climb the ladder where you dropped off, follow the ledge around the room past some moving statue heads, blow a hole in the cracked wall and head on through. Climb up a few ledges on the right and go up the stairs to be outside. Enter the building (this is the one you saw at the beginning of the level) for another Sigil and pull the lever on the wall to lower another statue in the Lava Pit so warp there. Climb up the lowered statues and wait for the moving platform to come to you, jump on it and turn to the left. When you see a little alcove with a Sigil in it, jump in there to grab it. Get back on the moving platform, ride it for a little bit and then jump into the corridor you'll see. Follow the hall branching to the right for a Sigil. Turn around and go down the corridor on the right to be high above where you entered this Sepulchre. Wait for the moving platform to come to you and jump onto it, you'll see another one on the right you need to jump onto. You might have to do a few revolutions around the room for them to align properly to make the jump. When you're finally on the second moving platform, ride it to the ledge with the campfire on it and jump to it. Snag the Cadeaux and warp through the fire. Follow the corridor to a Sigil and take it to make the boss door open up in Spike Trap, warp there. Shimmy back across the rope, drop into the corridor on the other side, go right and follow the long corridor to confront the King of the Duppies, Ogou. *********************************** BOSS ****************************** ********************************** BATTLE ***************************** Watch the cut scene and prepare for a really easy battle. You'll get the Teddy Bear signal (Ogou's Chamber). During the battle, he'll release a bunch of monsters. Equip your Shadow Gun and the Malignum and shoot him with fully charged combos and he'll die in no time. Seriously, this guys a wimp and you probably won't even die. Don't forget to finish him off with a Nephilim item or he won't die. When he croaks, he'll leave behind the last Sigil in the game. You'll notice that you have everything you can find in this game except three Cadeaux, I don't know where they are. I'm sure I'll eventually find them and add them to this guide but I don't know when that will be. After writing this guide, I'm Shadow Man twoed out and it will probably be a while before I play the game again, if ever. If you know where the missing Cadeaux are, please e-mail me their locations so this guide can be complete, I will credit you for any information you supply. Now that The Codex is full of Sigil's, warp to Gehenna: The Pit for the final showdown. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ GEHENNA: THE PIT ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- DEFEATING ASMODEUS: Stand in the middle of the moving floor and read from The Codex. That hideous statue in front of you will open up. Inside of it is a globe you must destroy with the Nephilim Blade. Do so and the pit will lower, jump down there to watch the cut scene. When the fight begins, Asmodeus will be a giant spider demon. This dude is tough to beat but if you die, his energy won't recharge unless you quit the game. What kind of kiddie shit is this Acclaim? When I fight a final boss, any boss actually, I WANT A CHALLENGE. So it really doesn't matter if you die a hundred times, you'll kill this freak eventually. Anyways, he'll shoot projectiles at you, and a big ball of fire that releases a deadly shockwave. Just kill him the same way you did the Duppie King. After he takes so much damage, he'll fly way above the room and drop some small spiders into the pit, he'll also be shooting at you so keep moving. Just kill all spiders to make him come back down. After so long, he'll die and you get to watch yet another infamous, shitty, Acclaim ending. Acclaim, you guys rule but you really need to work on endings for your games, they all suck, no offense. Well, this is the end. Hope I helped! ======================================================================= ******************************************* 9) CREDITS, E-MAIL RULES AND LEGAL THINGS ******************************************* CREDITS: - Acclaim for making another great game. E-MAIL RULES: randym1375@yahoo.com - DO NOT SOLICITE! I don't care what your crappy little product is all about or how cheap you're selling it, I don't want it! - NO CHAIN LETTERS: I will not send them on and if I go bankrupt, get a horrible disesase, an anvil drops on my head, I die, blah, blah, blah, because I don't send the letter on, oh well. I'm not a superstitious fool. - NO FAN CLUB CRAP! I don't care what your geeky little club is all about, I will not join. - NO MONEY MAKING SCHEMES! That means you EXCEL (not Microsoft affiliated for all you who don't know about this scam artist company Excel) and all of you other bullshit scam artists out there. - NO JUNK MAIL! If you write a crappy newsletter or just want to send out your trash to me DO NOT FEEL FREE TO DO SO! If you do then I'll send you a virus. How does that appeal to you? - If I don't know or trust you I will not open up any attachements so don't bother to send me any. Even though I state this it's amazing all the idiots out there that still send me attachements. - I don't care what kind of language you use just don't swear directly at me. If you do well then "Fuck you too," you won't be hearing from me. - If the answer is in the walkthrough you will most likely not get a response from me, maybe a smart ass comment depending on the mood I'm in at the time. I have better things to do than to answer questions that have clearly been answered. Go back to the third grade and take up some Reading Comprehension classes, I think it's time to renew your subscription to Highlights magazine. Hooked on Phonics worked for me, maybe it'll work for you too. - And as long as were talking about e-mail I'll most likely ignore, please write ledgible e-mail's without all these modern day acronyms all you tennie boppers IM and text eachother with, I'm kind of old school and aren't hip to all their meanings. - And one more thing: I KNOW THERE ARE TYPOS in this guide. I typed it in word pad and if you knew anything at all, then you should know word pad doesn't have spell check, plus I'm only human and thus not perfect. When you type in a million plus characters you're bound to make a mistake. It's amazing all these anal retentive asshole yuppies out there who e-mail me and make a big deal because I didn't use proper grammer or spelled a word wrong, whick 98% of the time is due to a typo and not my ability to spell. Get a life you pathetic morons! Maybe someday I'll notice the typos and fix them, then again maybe I won't just to piss you off!
