To use this, if there's something you wish to find instantly in my FAQ, in the above table, on the left is the name of a section or sub-section. To the right is a weird code, like GOK5.1. Basically, if you wish to go to the section where I tell you about Goku under The Playable Characters Of The Story, on your Keyboard, hold Ctrl and then hit F and a window will open. Type in GOK5.1 and hit Find Next. It'll bring you to that section instantly. The code to reach the Table Of Contents is just that: Table Of Contents. I hope this makes browsing my FAQs easier for you. Enjoy! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = I. Introduction . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ INTR1 ] = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Hello and welcome to another one of Kain Stryder's Walkthroughs. This time, I'm handling Castlevania: Lament Of Innocence for IGN, as it's my third project with them. I'll be covering everything from the basics to the game, right down to the final little detail about an enemy and exploration of the castle itself. Being a huge fan of the series, writing and helping you, the reader, won't be that difficult and I'll personally enjoy writing my first walkthrough for a Castlevania game myself. Just a slight note, though. This walkthrough is meant to be on IGN and IGN only and is NOT to be taken and claimed as someone elses work, sold for a profit or anything along these lines. I wrote this for the public to access for free and to get help in a game, not for some petty thief to rip and steal my work to make a extra buck. So please, use my walkthrough as a source and handbook and don't edit it in any way, shape or form to add or claim as your own. Anyway, with that said, let's get onto the walkthrough and I hope you have a blast with Castlevania: Lament Of Innocence! Update: This Walkthrough is now available at GameFAQs, Neoseeker and any other sites I've allowed via E-Mail to host this file. If I did not give you permission to host this FAQ on your site, then you're hosting it illegally and if you're reading this on a site with any variatin of "cheat" in its name, please notify me so I may take the necessary action. Thanks. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = II. Current Updates . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ CURUP2 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 5/14/07 - Just writing in to let any readers know if they E-Mail me any questions or comments, that my address still works. My willpower to write walkthroughs over the last few years died, mostly to college and real life, but I may just start this up again. Feel free to write in, thanks. 4/28/04 - Not alot this time. Thanks to Warren Shaw for telling me about the Shortcake on Floor 3 of the Anti-Souls Mysteries Lab, which I've added to The Walkthrough. Other than that, nothing much else, so, see you next time! 4/5/04 - Eh, nothing new. Just corrected a typo in calling Michiru Yamane a man when she's a woman. Sorry. Thanks goes out to Daniel Jones for that. Nothing else is new, though. 3/14/04 - Well, thanks to a contributor named Ket, I've added up two new locations to where you can duplicate your Items in the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon. It's under the Secrets Section, so check it out if you're interested. Other than that, nothing else is new, so, until the next time I update, see ya! 3/2/04 - Nothing new, except thanks to getsmart for pointing out that in Crazy Mode, you DO infact have Defense and Armor. I've never played Crazy Mode, yet I've played through the main game 4 times now...heh. Anyway, thanks to him and I've corrected that mistake now. Other than that, nothing's new. 12/16/03 - I added the new layout to this walkthrough. How's it look? I've also added yet another location where you can clone your Items, so that's been added to the Secrets section, so check that out if you wish. Other than that, I fixed up an error in the walkthrough, thanks to geode for pointing that out to me and he's been added to the Credits section. Also added yet ANOTHER area where you can clone your Items, so check the Secrets section for more on that. So, with that, enjoy! 11/14/03 - Added an addition to the Secrets section, which I put in a new place where you can duplicate Items. Enjoy! 11/6/03 - This walkthrough and everything in it is complete. You'll find everything you'll ever need to now here and I've labeled this as the final version. If I ever need to update this FAQ again, I'll do so, but in the meantime, I hope my walkthrough helps you and well, enjoy! Until the next time I update... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = III. FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions.) . . . . . . . . . . . . [ FAQ3 ] = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Q. I'm missing a few rooms, even though I have xx.x%! What am I missing? A. Ah, good question. A new feature to the Castlevania series is the "Complete" stamp that you'll obtain once you completely uncover EVERY room in an area of the castle. It appears on the Map, right under your percentage. If you see it, then that means you've found every room and nothing is left to find. (Note: When I say this, it means you've found every room, but you MAY have missed an Item or something in it, so regardless, the "Complete" stamp appears just for you uncovering a room, not for finding Items.) Though, if you don't see it, then you'll know you're missing something. Quite handy when you're at 99.8% and desperately needing to find that final room. Q. How many characters besides Leon can you play as and if so, who are they? A. Besides Leon, you can play as Joachim Armster and Pumpkin. I won't tell you who they are, so play the game and see for yourself. Q. Cool, so how do you unlock them? A. See Section XV. Secrets for more on that. Q. What's the max amount of stats Leon can have? (HP, MP, Hearts.) A. It's said there's 10 of the HP, 5 of the MP and 7 of the Heart Max Ups, which would make your stats 300 HP, 300 MP and 150 Hearts maximum. Q. I'm kind of confused where to go first. Does the order matter? A. Actually, yes it does. Depending on which area of the castle you go to first could mean life or death. I personally went through the House Of Sacred Remains first, then the Garden Forgotten By Time second and I fought Medusa twice before I killed her. Meaning, some areas will prove difficult for you than others will. If you follow my walkthrough, you'll be fine, but if you find you have problems in one area, exit and try a new one. Q. How long will it take me to complete the game? A. Give or take, if you're a professional Castlevania player or just an over all great gamer, about anywhere from 6-9 hours. Longer if you wish to get all the enemy drops and whatnot. It's a short game, yes and I completed it in literally a day. So, don't expect it to even last you a weekend. Q. How's this game tie in to the rest of the series? A. Well, being a Castlevania buff like I am, the game, according to Konami now, is THE beginning of the Belmont-Dracula feud. (Though, it was said that Akumajo Dracula X: Dark Night Prelude (Demon Castle Dracula X.) or Castlevania Legends as it's known in America was the start of it all, with Sonia Belmont.) It takes place in 1076 in Europe, almost 400 years before Sonia. Even though Konami took a step away from the entire Vlad Trepes thing and Bram Stolker's Dracula and started their own thing, which actually has a few loop holes here, (I won't mention them, as it'll totally ruin the game for you. If you're a Castlevania maniac, you'll see them, but if you're not, play Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night and you SHOULD see how everything comes together, mainly with Alucard, his mother and Dracula.) the game documents how and why the Belmonts forever fight Dracula and the night and as it stands, it has the best story of any Castlevania. So, play and find out. Q. What's a good, fast way to make money? A. See the Secrets section about copying Items, but if you want to do it the honest way, in the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon, near the entrance to the place, there's a hallway with 2 Spartacuses. Each one usually drops White Money Bags or $250 apiece, so kill them, exit, fight, repeat. If they don't drop them, they still drop $100 and even better, if you can get the Member Plate from them, you'll get 10% off at Rinaldo's Shop. Q. I'm playing through as Joachim right now and I'm in the Ghostly Theatre, but I can't get to the rooms that have the falling spike platforms. How do I get up there? There's no platforms for him to jump onto! A. Yeah, this part is DAMN tricky. For the first room, the one that has the door to the northwest, stand in the VERY north corner of the room, RIGHT under the door for like, 30 seconds and a platform will rise up under you and cary you up. As for the other spike room, same thing goes. Stand in the small safe spot facing the fall that's right under the pole and wait 30 seconds or so and a platform will rise up. There you go. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = IV. How To Play . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ HOTOP4 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A. Controls And Menus . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ COAM4.1 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- First come the basics of the game and with the basics come the controls. So, let's take a look at what does what, shall we? (Note: The controls for Pumpkin are the same as those for Leon. Controls for Joachim have been listed below.) D-Pad - Used to bring up the Real Time Window while on the playing field and is used to cycle through the lists in said window. On the Menu, it's used to browse your options. Left Analog Stick - Used to walk/run with Leon/Joachim/Pumpkin. To walk, barely move the Left Analog Stick and to run, tip the Left Analog Stick all the way. Also is used in the Menu to cycle through options. On the Map, it lets you view the Map at different angles. (Note: Pressing the Left Analog Stick does nothing, unlike the Right Analog Stick.) Right Analog Stick - Tip it sharply to open the Real Time Window and barely move it to cycle through the options in said window. (Or press the Right Analog Stick to open it.) Also used to cycle through choices in the Circle Window. On the Map, it lets you move it around to see whatever area you wish. Select - Opens up the Map and also is used to close it. Start - Opens up the Menu and also is used to close it. Does nothing on the Map. Square Button - On the playing field, it's used to perform a light Whip attack, to open doors, examine objects and to confirm a selection here and on the Menu. On the Map, it let's you put the Map back to the way you had it when you opened the Map at the start. For Joachim, press it rapidly to release his 5 Swords. Triangle Button - On the playing field, it's used to perform a heavy Whip attack and to open doors. It does nothing on the Menu. On the Map, it exits you back to the playing field. For Joachim, allows you to change his Sword Stance. X Button - On the playing field, it allows you to jump or confirm an option. Press it while in midair after jumping to Double Jump. This also is used while in the Menu. On the Map, it brings up the Control Guide to show you what buttons do what. Circle Button - On the playing field, it's used to perform your Sub-Weapon attack and is also used to cancel an option. Also used on the Menu and on the Menu, in the Item List, it let's you orginize your Items. On the Map, it's used to switch Floors to see the other Maps of the area. Used in conjunction with the R1 Button to activate Leon/Pumpkin's Relic. Use this again to deactivate it. For Joachim, depending on his Sword Stance, he'll release one of two magic attacks. If his Swords are behind him, he'll release a Dragon Ball Z Kamehameha type attack and if his Swords are surrounding him, he'll do a fan like blade cutter attack that circles him with great speed. R1 Button - On the playing field, it allows you to Guard attacks or perform the Guard stance. In the Menu, it lets you cycle through the Menus and on the Map, it lets you Zoom In. Used in conjunction with the Circle Button to activate Leon/Pumpkin's Relic. Use this again to deactivate it. R2 Button - On the playing field, it allows you to Guard attacks or perform the Guard stance. In the Menu, it lets you cycle through the Menus and on the Map, it lets you Zoom Out. L1 Button - Press and hold it down to open the Orb Circle Window, then use the Right Analog Stick to cycle through your Orbs, until you are satisfied on your selecton. Release the L1 Button to exit the Orb Circle Window. On the Menu, it's used to cycle through your Menus and on the Map, it lets you display different modes/views of the Map. L2 Button - Press and hold it down to open the Relic Circle Window, then use the Right Analog Stick to cycle through your Relics, until you are satisfied on your selection. Release the L1 Button to exit the Relic Circle Window. On the Menu, it's used to cycle through your Menus and on the Map, it let's you set a Marker Stone where ever you wish. And so, there you have the controls for the game. Study them, master them and you'll go far. Next, as you begin your game and load it up in your PlayStation 2, if you watch the beginning story or skip it, you'll be brough to the Main Menu, with a few options for you to select: Continue - Only appears if you've played the game before and have data saved to your Memory Card. If not, you will not see this option. Either way, to continue your game, select this option, load the file on the File Select screen of your choice from previous play and continue on. Castlevania: Lament Of Innocence takes up 124 KB on your Memory Card, so be sure you have enough for it before you begin playing. New Game - If this is your first time through the game or you wish to start anew, select this option. You'll be taken to the Name Entry screen, so that you can give your Save File a name. Do so and then at the File Select screen, select a slot to save your data to, then the game will begin. Options - This option lets you change or edit various things in the game to suit your playing style. Here's a rundown on each area: Key Config - Depending on how you like to play, you are allowed to change the 4 color buttons or the Square, Triangle, X and Circle Buttons to whatever keys you wish. If you want the controls back to how they originally are, select the Default Setting at the bottom of your screen. Sound Setting - This area has a few things to look at. They are: Sound Type - Change it from Stereo, Mono or to Dolby Surround Pro Logic II to get the BEST results in the music for the game. B.G.M. Volume - Gives you a percentage rating to how strong the music in the game will be. Edit this to however you see fit. S.E. Volume - Gives you a percentage rating to how strong the sound effects in the game will be. Edit this to however you see fit. Note on Dolby Surround Pro Logic II: To get this to work, connect your PlayStation 2 to a sound system with Dolby Pro Logic or Dobly Pro Logic II decoding, then just select Dolby Surround Pro Logic II as your Sound Type and you're set. Language - This allows you to change the Spoken, the Game Text and the Subtitles language in the game, either from English to Japanese. Only one total over all option, so if you choose Japanese, be prepared to play the game in full Japanese. Vibration - Select On or Off if you want the vibration on while playing the game. Note: All of these options except Language can be changed in the Menu during gameplay. Sound Select - The final option on the Main Menu, this option only appears once you've completed the game and bought the Music Box from Rinaldo's Shop. Then this option will appear. Here, you can listen to the various songs in the game, hell, even some remixes from Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night! What's even better is Michiru Yamane gives her comments on each song! Read Death Flower Succubus's for a good laugh. (My only qip with this is that you don't get to listen to the Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night remix song of the Entrance Theme, which they do use in this game, but it's for Joachim's Boss Battle them when you play as him. A KICK ASS remix, just too bad it's not in the Sound Select.) Ok, now with that done, let's take a look at the Menu in the game and examine each part of that, so you know what each area is. First, on the Menu, before we go to any of the sub catigories, you'll notice things on the first screen, so we'll look at these first. (Note: All the below also applies to Pumpkin, but since Joachim has NO Menu screen, ignore all this for him.) Leon Belmont - When you scroll over to Leon and select him, you'll bring up a Menu with the following on it: Player Records: Total Defeated Enemies - Shows you how many Enemies Leon has killed in total. Max Combo - Shows the highest Combo Leon has pulled off. Total Quick Steps - Shows how many times Leon has used he Quick Step to dodge attacks. Total Guard - Shows how many times Leon has used the Guard ability. Total Perfect Guard - Shows how many times Leon has gotten a "Perfect!" while Guarding. Highest Perfect String - Shows how many times Leon has gotten a "Perfect!" in a row. Boss Rush Mode: Best Time - Shows you Leon's best time in Boss Rush Mode. Previous Time - Shows you Leon's last play through time in Boss Rush Mode. Now, these statistics are here just for fun, though some people think that some of them relate to how fast you learn Skills. Think of it as you will, since I really never followed this thing at all and managed to learn all the Skills without it's help. Armor - Shows you the current Armor Leon is wearing. Sub - Shows you the current Sub-Weapon Leon has. Whip - Shows you the current Whip Leon is using. Orb - Shows you the current Orb Leon is using. Accessory - Shows you the two (Or three.) Accessories Leon has Equipped. Relics - Shows you the current Relic Leon has Equipped. Time - Shows you how long you've been playing the game. Gold - Shows you how much Gold Leon has in his possession. HP - Represented by the first number being Leon's remaining HP and the other number being his maximum amount. If this reaches 0, Leon dies. As Leon takes damage, his HP will go down. Make sure that he never reaches 0. MP - Represented by the first number being Leon's remaining MP and the other number being his maximum amount. If this reaches 0, Leon can't use Relics until he refills it. MP is used for Relics. Heart Symbol - Represented by the first number being Leon's remaining Hearts and the other number being his maximum amount. If this reaches 0, Leon can't use Sub-Weapons until he finds more Hearts to refill it. Hearts are used for the Sub-Weapons, as well as the Sub-Weapons pared up with Orbs. Be sure you always carry a healthy supply of them, as they can prove to sometimes be better than your Whip. Atk - Leon's attacking strength with the Whip. The higher this is, the more damage he does. Def - Leon's Defense against Enemy attacks. The number represents a percent, so if the number is 20, then Leon has a 20% reduced damage effect from Enemy attacks. A full 100 would mean he's invincible. Con - Leon's Constitution. This represents how fast Leon recovers from Status Ailments. The higher this is, the faster he recovers. Int - Leon's Intelligence. This represents the damage the Sub-Weapons do. The higher the number, the better the damage. Lck - Leon's Luck. This determines how often an Enemy will drop an Item for Leon to acquire. The higher this is, the more likely it will be for Enemies to drop Items that they may have. Status - Broken up into many different parts. They are: Good - Leon is perfectly fine and has nothing wrong with him. The best Status possible. Poison - Leon will turn green and will take 1 HP of damage over a period of time. When he takes damage, his body violently spasms and his actions are interrupted, no matter what you're doing. Use a Serum to cancel this effect or if you wait long enough, this will end. Curse - Leon will turn yellow and will not be able to use Skills or any form of Magic for a set period of time. Use a Uncurse Potion to remove this effect immediately or just wait a while and the effect will end. Stone - Leon will become a statue and will be unable to move or defend from Enemy attacks. Rotate the Left Analog Stick rapidly and he'll break free of it. If you do nothing, he'll never recover. Paralysis - Leon will bow down and won't be able to move at all. To recover from this, rotate the Left Analog Stick and he'll regain movement, but if you do nothing, he'll slowly recover from it. Curse% - Shows you how well Leon can block from a Curse attack. If the percent is 0, then Leon has no chance of dodging the attack and will be Cursed. Though, if he has, say, 75%, then there's a 75% chance of him not becoming Cursed. Only certain Accessories allow this, though. Stone% - Shows you how well Leon can block from a Petrification attack. If the percent is 0, then Leon has no chance of dodging the attack and will be Petrified. Though, if he has, say, 75%, then there's a 75% chance of him not becoming Petrified. Only certain Accessories allow this, though. Poison% - Shows you how well Leon can block from a Poison attack. If the percent is 0, then Leon has no chance of dodging the attack and will be Poisoned. Though, if he has, say, 75%, then there's a 75% chance of him not becoming Poisoned. Only certain Accessories allow this, though. Note: There is no way to guard from Paralysis. Ok, that's all covered. Now, we'll look at each main sub catigory: Item List - Area where all your normal Items and Event Items are stored. To view the Event Items, use the R1/R2 and L1/L2 Buttons to scroll between the two. You can't use any Items here, as any Item you use MUST be used in the Real Time Window. Though, here you can orginize your Items in any order you wish. Equip List - Area where you can view your Whips, Armors and Accessories. To do so, just browse using the R1/R2 and L1/L2 Buttons. Though, you can't Equip them here and to do so, you must do it in the Real Time Window, but you can orginize your Items here in any order you wish. Relics List - Area where you can view your Relics. You can't Equip them here, as you must do it in the Relics Circle Window, but you can orginize them in this window in whatever order you wish. Orbs List - Area where you can view your Orbs. You can't Equip them here, either, as you must do this in the Orb Circle Window, but you can orginize them in this window in whatever order you wish. Skill List - Area that lets you see all the current Skills you've learned. For the Skills you have learned, you'll see details on how to perform them and a short description on each. If you see a bunch of question marks for a Skill, that means that's a Skill you've yet to learn. Encyclopedia - A massive 12 page list of all the Enemies in the game, complete with stats on all of them, but all this information ONLY appears if you first encounter an Enemy and defeat it. If you meet an Enemy, but don't kill it, all you'll get is their page and image, with their stats unknown. To fill in their Drop Items, you must fight them until they drop them, then the Encyclopedia will be updated. In the Encyclopedia, you'll find the following information on each of the Enemies in the game: No. - Tells you the number of the Enemy of how it appears in your Encyclopedia. Name - Tells you the name of the Enemy. HP - The amount of HP the Enemy has. Tolerance - Immunity that an Enemy has. Though it's not 100%, they won't really be effected by whatever appears next to this slot. If nothing is there, that means they have immunity to nothing. Weakness - Anything that appears here means that this Enemy is weak to whatever. If you use the Enemy's Weakness against them, you'll deal double the damage. This could be vital, so remember it. Drop Items - Some Enemies don't drop anything, some drop 1 thing and others drop 2 things. The first slot is their common drop and the second is their rare drop. You never know what some Enemies have, so be sure to fight Enemies until you get their Items. (Note: ALL Enemies drop money, except if it's a LARGE amount, it could be one of their drops, so watch out. Otherwise, money is NOT one of their drops. A drop could be a Potion or Heart Refresh.) Defeated - Tells you how many times you've defeated this type of enemy. And finally, at the bottom of the screen, you'll get a small description on the Enemy, as well as a picture of them as to what they look like. Options - No need to re-explain this. It's the exact same as on the Main Menu, just minus the Language option. If you want info on that, scroll up a bit and look for it, as I described it earlier under the Main Menu. And with that, that takes care of the Menu. Finally, let's take a look at the Map before I begin the explanation of the Battle System and the Real Time Windows. Map - Ok, let's get started on this. The Map in Castlevania began with Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night and is VERY similar to the Metroid series's Map. Ever since then, most Castlevania games have been based upon using a Map, with exploration thrown in, so you can revisit areas. It worked for the most part and is what made the series great to this day. For staters, let's go over what the Map is. Basically, as you enter a room, on your Map, it'll appear in blue, showing you that you have indeed visited that room and it has been added to your over all Map Percent. If you acquire a Map, you may see rooms in grey, which tells you those are rooms Leon has yet to explore, thus he hasn't gotten Map Percentage for them. Another factor is that a Save Room is colored red on your map and is very easy to spot. So, now that you kind of have a basic look at the Map, let's go into more detail about it, starting with these: Area Name - Appears at the top of the screen in fancy writing, tell you where you are in the castle right now. Percentage - In the top right corner is a number, showing you how much of the castle in total you've uncovered. If you see a "Complete" under this number, that means you have located EVERY room in this part of the castle and there is nothing left to "explore", yet there MAY be Items you missed. Just because you entered a room doesn't mean you found everything. Keep that in mind. If you have 100.0%, you have found every room in the game. Player Cursor - The red cursor that is flashing shows you where Leon or anyone else you're playing as is at at the moment. Compass - The red mark shows you which way north is. I pray I don't have to tell you the other directions... Floor - In the bottom left hand corner, you'll see different Floors for whatever area you're on. Each Floor has a seperate Map, so keep this in mind. It also shows you what Floor you are on at the moment. Blue Rooms - Designate areas you have already visited. Grey Rooms - Designate areas you haven't visted. Red Rooms - Show you where Save Rooms are. Symbol Circles - Depending on what's inside them, they show you where Sub-Weapons are on the Map. So, incase you want a different Sub-Weapon, you'll know where to find them. Key Symbols - Represent areas that are locked and need special Keys to open them. S Symbol - Designates the start of the area, as well as the teleporter that leads out of the area, incase you need to leave. (One is also supplied for you after you beat the Boss of the area, so that you don't have to backtrack.) Two Arrows - Only appearing in the Dark Palace Of Waterfalls level, these little things represent areas that you'll be dropped off to after riding the Skeleton Ride event. 1F/2F/Etc - Represent where stairs are that lead to another Floor. There's the basics of the Map in more detail, but let's go into the controls for the Map and what they do, so that you can master using the Map to the best of your ability. X Button - At the bottom of the screen, if you don't have the Menu displayed, you'll see the "Ctrl Guide" or Control Guide. Press the X Button to bring up this Menu, which has the rest of the features of the Map: Circle Button - Let's you switch Floors and see the other Map of the area, but only if you've already explored it. X Button - Put the Control Guide On or Off. Square Button - Return the Map to the original settings. Left Analog Stick - Tilt the Map at different angles or change the view of it. Right Analog Stick - Move the Map around to look at the other areas. R1 Button - Zoom In on the Map to get a closer look. R2 Button - Zoom Out on the Map to look at it far away. L1 Button - Choose the Mode you wish to view the Map in. Either Fixed or Rotate Mode. Here's a description on each: Fixed Mode - Once the Map is rotated, it's fixed and stopped from rotating. If you switch from Rotate Mode to Fixed Mode, the Map will be fixed to the North and then fixed into position. Rotate Mode - Allows you to freely move the Map around to however you see fit. If you change from Fixed Mode to Rotate Mode, the Map will be positioned to whichever direction Leon is currently facing. L2 Button - Allows you to set a Marker Stone, so that if there's something in a room and you want to come back for it later, you can place one. These will NOT disappear until YOU remove them, so don't worry. Be SURE to use them, as they can only help you. To set a Marker Stone, use this Button, then select the one you want and be SURE you're in the room you want to use it, then confirm it and it'll appear on your Map. Simple, huh? Well, that covers everything, from controls to the Menus. I don't know what else I can cover. That's everything, really. So, with that done, let's move onto the Movement and Battle System. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - B. Moving Around/Battle System . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ MOABS4.2 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, well, to start, the movement in Castlevania: Lament Of Innocence is rather easy, actually. Since you're playing in a 3D environment, you have free exploration as to where you can move around and go to, either to explore or to examine something. This is also key to when you battle, as everything is happening then and there. As you explore the castle and play the game, you'll find many things for Leon to pick up on the ground or hidden off in high or secret places. Here's a rundown on stuff you'll encounter: Money - All around the castle and Enemies drop it frequently, you'll find various amounts of money, ranging from Brown, Green, Purple, Silver and Gold Coins to Grey, Blue and Purple Money Bags. Each piece of money has a different amount, which, is the following, based in the order I just listed the colors: $1, 5, 10, 25, 100, 250, 400 and 1,000. Money is used to buy Items from Rinaldo, so be sure to always carry alot of it, as it'll go far. Items - Items appear all the time in the castle. From stuff dropped by the Enemies to things laying around in certain rooms, be sure to grab them before they disappear, as you never know when a Item will come in handy. This also applies to Equipment when you find it. (Note: Any Item you find in a room or that isn't dropped by an Enemy will NOT disappear EVER. So, feel free to grab it when it's convenient for you.) Objects - Sometimes you'll have to solve a puzzle in a room with some objects. Nothing that's terribly hard, but you'll encounter statues and Lamposts, mainly. Solve the puzzle with these and you'll get to exit the room. They aren't hard, so don't worry. As you play the game and read my walkthrough, I'll go into more detail about these, when the time comes. Doors - Of course you know what a door is. I hope you do. Well, in Castlevania: Lament Of Innocence, you use them to enter different rooms of the castle. To enter one, go towards one and when you see the blue arrows turn green, that means you're lined up properly and you can enter it. Rather easy, actually. Candle Stands - Ah, any veteran of Castlevania knows what these babies are. Destroy these to get Small Hearts and collect them so that you can use Sub-Weapons. Purple Candle Stands hold Small Hearts, but if you are at full Hearts, then they'll just drop $1 all the time. Rather useless. Yellow Candle Stands drop Sub-Weapons, so watch out for those. (Note: To get Big Hearts, you'll have to pray a Enemy drops them, as Candle Stands don't, unforunately, but the Yellow Candle Stands will drop $5 if you already hold the Sub-Weapon it holds.) Teleporters - You'll find these in the Warp Room and at the start of each area. Use them to either enter or exit the part of the castle you're in at the moment. (They also appear after you defeat a Boss.) Save Room Statue - Stand in the field near the statue in the Save Room to not only be fully healed, but also to Save your game. Be sure you have a Memory Card and once you're done, continue on. Ok, well, that covers the movement of the game and over all what you'll find on the playing field as you play through the game. Now, onto the Battle System. For starters, Leon moves with the Left Analog Stick, so get use to how to move him around. Tipping the stick all the way makes him run and barely tipping it makes him walk. Now, as for his attack, for his Whip, using the Square Button allows him to perform quick lashes with the Whip and continued use of it can make him perform a quick Combo, which doesn't allow Enemies a chance to fight back. Very useful when you need to stop Enemies dead in their tracks. As for the Triangle Button, this is the crowd control attack. It's slower than the Square Button attack, but it deals more damage and can hit a wider range of Enemies all around Leon. Useful for the damage, but Leon CAN be attacked when trying to do this, so if an Enemy is right near you, it may be wise to do the faster attack first. With these two Buttons, once you learn some Skills, you can press them in certain orders to release devastating attacks that can leave your Enemies hurting. So, there's the basic information concerning the Whip. Let's take a look at the Sub-Weapons now. Sub-Weapons are just that: Substitutional Weapons. If at any time your Whip may not be the best Weapon or you just want to get an extra hit in from afar or whatever, Sub-Weapons come in handy. There are five of them, which include the Knife, Cross, Holy Water, Crystal and Axe. Each has different abilities, with their ups and downs. Depending on the situation, one could prove to be the better over the other. The Sub-Weapons are used by hitting the Circle Button and you can only carry one of them at a time. They're very important to the game, believe it or not, unlike how most of them in past Castlevania games were thrown away, since the Cross was always the best thing to have. This time, you can combine them to create insanely powerful Weapons, even outdoing the Whip ALOT. As you defeat Bosses, you'll gain Orbs, which when you mix and match them with your Sub-Weapons, you'll get different Sub-Weapon attacks. Try them out and see what you get. Sub-Weapons consume Hearts, though, so don't think you can use them forever (Well, you CAN, but you need the Mobius Brooch. Check Section XIV. Rinaldo's Shop for more on that.) and when you use them with Orbs, they drain ALOT of Hearts, so don't always rely on them. Good back up Weapons and definitely something to have always. Also, don't always stick with one Sub-Weapon. Sometimes one could prove to be better than another, especially once you start getting more and more Orbs. Try everyone out and see which works best in the area you're in and go with it. Ok, so you now know about how to move Leon around, use his Whip and Sub-Weapons. Now let's look at the other things he can do. First, jumping. Unlike past Castlevania games, Leon can double jump, which is a luxary here, as many of the games from Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night and up started you out with a single jump and you only later could double jump. So, from the start, Leon can double jump and that's a good thing, since he'll never get any more jumping ability in the game. To make Leon jump, use the X Button and to double jump, hit the X Button again while in midair. (If you are using the Wolf's Foot Relic, Leon will be able to run and jump farther and higher. Keep this in mind.) Other than jumping, Leon can Guard, an ability given to him by Rinaldo at the start of the game. Using his now enchanted Gauntlet, as long as Leon is Guarding, he can't be harmed. Though, while doing this, he can not attack. To Guard, press and hold either the R1 or R2 Buttons. Not only is this used to guard attacks, but it's used to gain MP. Probably the most fustrating thing in the game, the only way to get MP with Leon is to Guard or to use a Mana Prism Item. When an Enemy flashes Purple, use Guard and let them hit you and Leon will flash purple and gain the MP. Remember this, as it's vital to gaining MP and Mana Prisms are VERY, VERY, VERY rare. Now, once you learn Perfect Guard, if you can block the attack just before it hits you, it'll say "Perfect!" and you'll gain more MP than usual, as well as some Hearts. Now, another thing you can do with Leon while he is Guarding is the Quick Step. It's a very helpful evasion move, which while Leon is Guarding, hit the X Button while moving in the direction you wish to go and Leon will quickly move to that direction. VERY useful when an Enemy is dishing attacks out and you need to dodge FAST. Once you get the Quick Step 2, you can move two spaces fast and trust me, it's insanely helpful for the laster battles. Next, we have the Skills. As you play through the game, Leon will learn new Skills, based on how you fight, thus you will gain new Skills that will only help your fighting style, so you'll gain the others in due time, since your fighting style doesn't lean that way. Once you learn a new Skill, a menu will pop up on the screen clear as day and you can't miss it. You'll learn Skills based on meeting certain conditions, such as attacking enough Enemies or killing a certain Enemy. So, be sure to battle alot, but if you go through the game and not stand around and battle for hours, you'll save yourself time, since you'll learn all the Skills without any problems or needing to "train". Keep that in mind as well. Now, finally, onto a overview of the Battle System. If you've ever played Devil May Cry or Devil May Cry 2, then you'll get the hang of this game with utter, utter ease. Castlevania: Lament Of Innocence is actually like Devil May Cry, but give Dante a Whip and you're set. You'll encounter Enemies in real time and using your powers, you can destroy them by fighting. As you fight, you'll take damage, but only if the Enemy manages to hit you. The better your skill, the less you'll be hit. Just be careful, as some Enemies can't be hurt at all by the Whip or Sub-Weapons and can only be hurt with Relics. Mix and match attacks all the time for the best results. So, put all the above together and you have the Battle System to the game. Learn it, master it and you'll go far. Now, onto the final part of the Battle System, the Real Time Windows and the playing field screen. First, we'll start with the playing field screen, which you are always seeing, as long as you aren't on the Menu or Map. Here's what you'll see on the screen, starting from the top left hand corner and moving counter clockwise: HP Gauge - Shows you in bar form how much HP you have left. As you take damage, the bar will decrease, as the red will disappear. If this bar becomes empty, Leon or whoever will die. Make sure that doesn't happen. MP Gauge - Situated right under the HP Gauge, the MP Gauge is colored blue and as you use Relics, it'll decrease over time. When this becomes empty, you won't be able to use Relics, so make sure to keep it full all the time or whenever possible. Sub-Weapon - Fitted right next to the HP Gauge, this shows you what Sub-Weapon you're currently using, as well as a background color, representing exactly what Orb you're using in conjunction with it right now. Relic - Fitted right next to the MP Gauge, this shows you what Relic you currently are using at the moment. Heart Counter - Represented by a Heart symbol and a number, as you collect or use Sub-Weapons, this will increase or decrease. Always try to keep it high when possible. Enemy - Of course, on the playing field, you're going to meet Enemies. They're all around the screen, so be sure to hunt them down and kill them. Item Name - Appears at the bottom left hand corner of the screen whenever you pick up an Item and tells you the name of it. (Or if you don't pick it up, but go near it, it'll still tell you the name.) Enemy Name - Appears at the bottom of the right hand corner of the screen whenever you attack an Enemy. Leon/Joachim/Pumpkin - Of course you will always see your character on the screen, so that you know where and who they are. Item - Either dropped or laying around on the screen, these things need to be picked up by you, so make it an objective. Damage/Hit - This little menu pops up whenever you successfully hurt an enemy. Each attack will show you the damage you did and if you do "Combos" or connecting follow up attacks, the damage will increase, as will your Hits. The more the better, as damage to Enemies is always good. Ok, so that covers the playing field screen. Now, finally, let's cover the Real Time Windows and we'll be done. Real Time Window - Ok, to do ANYTHING that involves Equipping or using Items, you must use this window while in the playing field. Here's a rundown on it. Basically, to use this, hit the D-Pad or the R3 Button, which is the Right Analog Stick's code name for when you press it inward or tilt the Right Analog Stick. The Real Time Window will pop up and you can cycle through the Menus, but the action in the game (If there is any.) will continue, making Leon wide open to attacks. You can still move him around and such, but it's going to be a pain if you ever hope to get anything done. Here's the order that the Real Time Window's Menus appear in when you open it: Item List Relic List Orb List Equip List Item List (Again.) When you exit the Real Time Window, whatever List you were last one, when you re-open it, it'll come back to that last list, which is helpful if you set it to the Item List right before you enter a Boss Battle or whatever. Use the X Button to confirm an option and the Triangle Button to cancel one. Now, let's examine each List so you know what each one holds for you. Item List - Go to this list to be able to use a Item to heal Leon with or something that'll help continue the game. (For example, the Curtain Time Bell.) Some Items take a second or two before they work, so don't think the effect is totally instant after you confirm the selection. Relic List - Go to this list so that you can change the Relic you're currently using. The effect is instant, as there's no waiting for it to happen, so don't worry. Orb List - Go to this list so that you can change the Orb you're currently using. The effect is instant, as there's no waiting for it to happen, so don't worry. Equip List - Ah, the biggest list in the Real Time Window. It's broken up into 4 parts. (Later 5.) They are: Whip - Select this to change your current Whip you're using. Armor - Select this to change your current Armor to something else. Accessory 1 - Select this to change your current Accessory to something else. Accessory 2 - Select this to change your current Accessory to something else. Accessory 3 - Select this to change your current Accessory to something else. (This one only appears AFTER you get the Tool Bag.) That takes care of the Real Time Window. Finally, we have the other Real Time Windows, the Orb and Relic Circle Lists. These Real Time Windows allow for quick and very fast ways to change your current Orb and Relic you're using to another one, instead of by cycling through the Real Time Window to do so. Here's the two windows and what each one does. Orb Circle List - Open it by pressing and holding the L1 Button, then use the Right Analog Stick to circle around the window and to choose the Orb you wish. To remove a Orb, press in on the Right Analog Stick. Relic Circle List - Open it by pressing and holding the L2 Button, then use the Right Analog Stick to circle around the window and to choose the Relic you wish. To remove a Relic, press in on the Right Analog Stick. Note: Just like the Real Time Window, Leon isn't able to perform any other options, other than moving around, thus he's open to attack. Be warned. Whew, ok, that covers EVERYTHING for the Battle System, Real Time Windows, etc. I hope you got all that, as it's alot to take in, but you'll get the hang of it all as you play, so don't worry. Now, onto my Tips & Tricks for you when you are playing the game. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - C. Tips & Tricks . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ TITRI4.3 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Save often. I can't stress this enough. Nothing sucks worse than getting so far in the game, then suddenly being killed and having to restart from your last save, which could set you back hours. Even if you're feeling confident in yourself and don't want to waste time saving, just keep in mind you do NOT know what lies ahead and it's better safe than sorry. - Visit Rinaldo, ALOT. As you uncover more and more of the Map, he gets better Equipment for you, which can greatly help you when you need to take less damage from enemies. Also stop by incase you need to restock up on Potions and the like, as you never know what kind of trouble you'll run into. He may even give you some advice, if you ever get stuck on a Boss or something. You never know. - Experiment with your Relics and Orb combinations. There's 5 Sub-Weapons and a TON of possible combinations you can pull off. Find the one that best works for your situation and stick with it. And never always stick with just one Sub-Weapon. You may find that the Holy Water is a HELL of alot better than the Cross at one point or that the Knife is a good thing to carry rather than the Crystal through another area. Just try stuff out and pick whatever you think works best, based on your combat style. - Don't bother trying to stand around and learn Skills. Skills are only learned based on you killing a certain enemy ONCE or if you just happen to kill enough enemies or do a certain move. If you just go through the game, you WILL get ALL the Skills with NO problem AT ALL. So don't bother trying to learn like 8 Skills in the first area of the game. Most of them are learned based on your fighting style, so again, don't worry about learning Skills. - If you find something you can't reach or a locked door you can't open, use a Marker Stone. This saves ALOT of fustration later when you're looking around for things you missed and can't exactly remember. The Marker Stones are new to the Castlevania series, so use them well and don't trust your memory. Always wise to use what the game offers. - If you're in a area and the enemies seem way to strong for you or you get stuck or something, go to another part of the castle. Take it from me, as some Bosses will prove harder than others and depending on the order you play through the game, it could prove harder than it actually is. I will tell you the exact order you _should_ play through, but it's really up to you. A challenge is open to you, it's just your choice to take it or not. - Master using Leon early in the game. He moves and reacts like a dream and learning how to use him and the controls is key. Becoming a master with him will only make your trek through the castle all that much easier. - Using the Real Time Window will prove to be a complete hassle for you, but remember, you CAN use the Left Analog Stick to move Leon around while you're doing this. It's going to be hard to do so, but it's possible. Just if you need to heal him or something, do NOT make it to the point where he's in the single digits of HP. Play it smart and do it before that. - Orginize your Items to how you see fit. This is vital when using the Real Time Window in a battle. If you need a High Potion or something, yet can't find it, it could spell your doom. Make sure you can find everything quick and easy, as that's key in this game. - Carry a few Magical Tickets with you always. If you're exploring a certain part of the castle and you locate what you need, but you're pretty deep into the area and it'll take some type to backtrack to the Teleporter, use this and you'll warp to Rinaldo's Shop. They'll come in handy, trust me. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = V. The Characters Of The Story . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ JOARM5.7 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- A man turned into a Vampire by Walter, but locked away in the Dark Palace Of Waterfalls due to his rebelious behavior. He seeks the Crimson Stone, a mysterious object that gives a Vampire unimaginable power and turns a normal Human into a Vampire, as they lose their humanity. A Boss that Leon must get by, but he has his own "mission" that can be played if Leon completes his. An interesing character and the first playable Vampire character since Alucard and Soma, if you wish to count him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - H. Death . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ DEAT5.8 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Never even seen until a certain part of the story, but his motives this time are unclear, but it's a pleasent and very, very kick ass surprise to see how everything unfolds when he enters. Just like the past games, he is another Boss you must fight, but his role is rather large in the game. Just wait till you meet him... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - I. Succubus . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ SUCCU5.9 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The beautiful, yet deadly Demon returns yet again to torture Leon this time. Another Boss that follows Walter's Orders, she is someone you must get by in order to continue. Though her role is small like in the other games she's appeared in, such as Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night, she's still as evil as ever and shows no mercy towards Leon with her antics. Deal with her and don't be fooled by her looks, as she's very deadly. She will give Leon a hint about Rinaldo, but only if she's beaten... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - J. Medusa . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ MEDU5.10 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The legendary monster that can turn anyone to stone with the look of her eyes, she is another main Boss Leon will have to deal with, even though many have failed in trying to defeat her. If defeated, she will mention something about your Whip not being complete... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - K. Pumpkin . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ PUMPK5.11 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Definitely the odd ball of the series, if not on par with Alucard from Akumajo Dracula Special: Boku Dracula-Kun. Not really in the story at all, he's just a fun character to play as. Looking like a 5 year old who got lost while he was Trick or Treating, Pumpkin plays out just like Leon does, only his Attack, Defense and Hearts are higher, while his HP and MP are lower. Definitely something to see for yourself. Hell, he even likes to hum Castlevania music! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = VI. The Walkthrough . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ THEWA6 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Note: If I am missing any Items or ANYTHING by chance, let me know and I'll give you full credit. Also, I will not tell you to stock up on Hearts every other minute. I'm leaving this to you. If you see Candle Stands and you're not at full Hearts, break them. That's my only advice for that. Though, I WILL tell you when to head back to Rinaldo, Equipment wise, but whenever YOU personally need to go and see him, go for it. Finally, my directions you are reading are based on the playing field and how the camera is fixed in the current room. Do NOT follow my instructions Map wise, unless I clearly state so. So for example, at the beginning of the castle, when you see the Prelude To The Dark Abyss text flash on the screen, I'm telling you to go east. Imagine north is the top of your TV, south is the bottom, etc. So, when I say a direction, you'll know where to go. Also, when I give Map directions, ALL the directions will be given with the compass facing north, so keep this in mind. Got it? Good. Enjoy! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A. The Beginning . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ THEBE6.1 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: For a full, voice acted out intro to the game, let the game load and don't press any buttons. You'll learn the back story to the game. When you're ready, start your game up and watch the introduction scene to the main game. As the game begins, Leon is running through the woods and a strange happening, he'll meet an old man, named Rinaldo. After some introductions, Rinaldo asks to talk to him back at his cottage. After some small talk and some explanations, mainly on why Walter has kidnapped Sara, as well as some information on Mathias that Leon never knew about, he gains the Whip Of Alchemy from Rinaldo. Not only the Whip, but his Gauntlet becomes infused with magic, also thanks to Rinaldo. He'll explain about the MP system and the Relics, so listen up. After he thanks him, Rinaldo gives you a final piece of info about defeating 5 Bosses before you can go after Walter. It's a test and a "game". He also tells you about his shop, as the scene ends and your game begins. You'll appear outside, so before continuing on, get use to how Leon controls and get comfortable with everything, especially the Menu and the Real Time Windows and using the Whip. You'll start out with nothing but the Whip Of Alchemy and the Knife Sub-Weapon and you have $0 Gold as well, so you can't buy jack from Rinaldo. When you're ready, follow the path to the northeast and exit the screen. In this area, follow the path and you'll reach the drawbridge. Watch the cutscene and afterwards, you'll enter the castle. Now the game begins... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - B. Prelude To The Dark Abyss/Castle Entrance . . . . . . . [ PTDAC6.2 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Prelude To The Dark Abyss/Castle Entrance: Floor 1 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Magical Ticket x1, Marker Stone 1, Marker Stone 2, Marker Stone 3, Map 1, Potion x1, Serum x1, Svarog Statue and Uncurse Potion x1. Note: Don't ask me why, but they call this place the Prelude To The Dark Abyss when you enter, then from there on out it's called the Castle Entrance. As you enter the castle now, head east through the door into the next room, since the door to the west leads to a locked door. You'll have to go through the game's Tutorial first. Don't worry, it's for your benefit. Follow the path here and enter the door to the north, as the one door to the east is locked...for now. In this room, follow the instructions given to you, but check the center of the room for to get the Marker Stone 1. Then, jump and climb up to the higher up area that the instructions told you to do and follow the path, grab the Potion here and exit through the door. In this room, follow the instructions again, but grab the Serum in the middle of the room, then use the Whip to throw yourself up onto the landing to the west to get the Marker Stone 2. Finally, use the new Whip technique the instructions told you about and exit to the north through the door. In the next room, you'll get your first taste of combat, which is against 3 Skeletons. Defeat them and you'll learn your first Skill, which is the Quick Step. Practice it, then head northwest and exit through this door. In this room, you'll learn how to do another Whip technique, similar to what Simon did in Super Castlevania IV on the SNES. First, jump down to the area below and grab the Uncurse Potion here, then get back up to the top platform and jump towards the Pole and Whip it and get across. It's rather easy, though it took my friend a good 5 minutes to do it...anyway, grab the Magical Ticket here, then exit the door to the west. In this room, you'll encounter a "Boss" if you wish to call it that. You'll take on a Golden Knight, but you can't hurt him with your Whip or Knife. Instead, grab the Relic in the middle of the room, which is the Svarog Statue and then allow the Golden Knight to hit you, while you are Guarding, to build up your MP. When you're ready, activate the Relic by holding the R1 or R2 Button and hitting the Circle Button, then run around him and try to get him to step into the flames you create. 3 hits will do the trick. Once he falls, exit to the north and this will end the Tutorial. Now you get to go onto the real thing. You're back in the hallway you were in before, so exit to the south and back at the Castle Entrance, take the path to the west now and enter the door. Now, this is the room that in the Secrets Section of this walkthrough, I talked about how you could duplicate Items. Now, it's cheating, so if you're a moral person, don't do this, but for those of you wanting to, near the Save Room door, stand just a tad north of the Candle Stand where you see it's a little green and face out the window. Head into your Item List and move up and down and your amount of Items should increase. If not, position yourself a little more and try again. This DOES work. Now, either way, head into the Save Room here to the east and Save your game. After this, exit the Save Room and exit the hallway to the north through the door. After the small cutscene, head west and grab the Marker Stone 3 and ignore the door to the west, as it leads to a VERY POWERFUL Boss that you aren't even ready for and you can't even get to him yet, so ignore it. For now, head east and you can now choose which part of the castle you wish to go to first. There's a Item here though, which is Map 1, so grab it. This pretty much tells you what area to go to first, so stand on the Teleporter here and you'll enter the House Of Sacred Remains, first area I suggest you go to. Note: When I tell you to MUCH later in The Walkthrough, come back to this part and read on. Ok, welcome back. At this point, I suggest you stock up on 9 Potions, High Potions, Uncurse Potions and Serums, plus if you can afford it, Diamonds for the Jewel Crush. When you're ready, head back to the Warp Room and once there, head southwest to the door and enter it. In this area, follow the winding path down and you'll enter the Basement Floor 1 Of the Prelude To The Dark Abyss/Castle Entrance, so look at the section below and continue reading. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Prelude To The Dark Abyss/Castle Entrance: Basement Floor 1 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: High Potion x1. In this area, once you reach the bottom, enter the door to the northeast and in this room, grab the High Potion in the middle of the room, then head northwest and enter this door to enter a Save Room. Save and heal up, then exit and back in this room, head northeast and use the Unlock Jewel on the door here, as you'll enter the Prison Of Eternal Torture. Follow this path down and at this time, head to The Walkthrough, Section I. Prison Of Eternal Torture and continue reading. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - C. House Of Sacred Remains . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ HOSR6.3 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - House Of Sacred Remains: Floor 1 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Black Bishop, Blue Money Bag x1, Gold Coin x9, Grey Money Bags x10, HP Max Up x1, Marker Stone 6, MP Max Up x1, Neapolitan x1, Potion x1, Purple Money Bag x1, Ramen x1, Serum x1, Silver Coin x10 and Uncurse Potion x1. Note: I like the music hear. Starts off nice, then it REALLY picks up and sounds cool. As you begin this area, nothing is in this room, so defeat the 4 Skeletons, then exit to the west through the door. In this hallway, defeat the 2 Skeletons and then enter the door to the west. In this room, the doors will lock, so kill the 5 Skeletons and 2 Skeleton Archers, then exit this room to the northeast and in this room, jump onto the Switch and remain still. Once it goes down, you'll see a door, as one circle on it glows red. After this, backtrack to that hallway you were just in a minute ago and head north now and exit through the door here. In this room, take out the 6 Zombies, then exit to the west through the door. In this hallway, first, head south and kill the 2 Skeletons, then exit to the east into the Save Room. Save your game, then head north through the door. In this room, take out 3 Skeleton Swordsmans and 2 Ghost Warriors. Kill one Ghost Warrior and you'll learn the Extension Combo. After this, explore both of the higher platforms in this room to get 2 Grey Money Bags, then exit to the west through the door. In this room, take out the 6 Ghost Warriors and 4 Skeletons. Then, I suggest you grab the Crystal in this room, cause at this point, it's better than the Knife, but ONLY in close combat. Stick with the Knife if you want something for long range fighting. Next, grab the Grey Money Bag on the platform to the east, then head to the platform to the west here and go to the end of the ledge and face the screen, as you'll see a grate blocking your way to the other platform to the southwest. Jump off and head towards the screen and try and whip the railing, as it's VERY possible to do this, but could take a few tries. Once you do this, exit this room through the door here to the west. In this hallway, take out the 5 Bats and the 1 Red Skeleton, which can't be killed and exit to the north through the door. In this room, grab the MP Max Up Item, then exit to the northeast through the door. In this hallway, take out or avoid the 2 Red Skeletons, then kill the Skeleton Hunter who's trying to shoot you, then head through the door to the north. In this room, take out the 5 Skeletons and the 1 Heavy Armor, then grab the Uncurse Potion on the platform to the east, the Serum on the platform to the west, then the HP Max Up Item to the north. Then, from where you got the Serum, jump down to the area below and press up against the bookcase here and it'll start to move. Enter the room that appears and stand on the Switch here, as you'll see another door know, as one circle on it glows red. Next, using your Map, backtrack to the bullet shapped room now that's right next to the other bullet shapped room with the Crystal Sub-Weapon in it and in this room, exit to the north through the door here and in this hallway, follow the path and exit to the north through the door. You'll enter a trap, where you have to fight Enemies, so get ready. Destroy the 4 Ghost Warriors and 4 Skeleton Knights and once you kill 1 Skeleton Knight, you'll learn a new Skill, which is the A Extension 1. After you take care of the Enemies here, exit this room through the door to the west and in this room, you'll fight more Enemies, since you'll enter a trap. Take out the 5 Zombies and the 3 Skeleton Warriors, then exit this room through the north door. In this hallway, follow the path and exit through the door to the north and in this room, you'll fight another bunch of Enemies in another trap. Take out the 4 Rune Spirits and 2 Skeleton Knights, then enter the door to the east here quickly, then exit the hallway through the door you just came through. (We did this just to get the Map Percent, since the hallway leads back to a room we were just in.) Now, back in this room, exit through the door to the northwest. In this room, you'll fight another batch of Enemies, so get ready. Take out the 4 Rune Spirits and 2 Zombies, then exit the room through the east door. In this hallway, head south and exit through the door to the south here and in the next room, you'll fight more Enemies. Take out the 2 Zombies and 2 Skeleton Knights, then exit this room through the door to the east. In this hallway, head south and enter the door here and in the next room, be prepared to fight more Enemies. Take out the 1 Rune Spirit and 5 Skeleton Swordsmans, then grab the 2 Grey Money Bags in the east and west top platforms here, then head south and use your Whip to throw yourself up to another ledge and grab the Neapolitan. Then, exit this room through the door to the southeast and in this room, take out the Enemies here, which are 6 Rune Spirits and 6 Skeletons. After this, break the Yellow Candle Stick here and take the Axe, as it's better than the Knife right now, but keep the Crystal if you like close range Sub-Weapons. Next, head up to the platform to the west and grab the Grey Money Bag here, then exit this room through the door to the east up on the higher platform. In this hallway, take out the 5 Bats and the 1 Buckbaird, then exit this hallway through the door to the north. In this room, take out the 3 Wolf Skeletons and 2 Zombies, then grab the 2 Grey Money Bags in the east and west top platforms. Next, exit this room through the southeast door and in this hallway, take out the 3 Red Skeletons and the 1 Buckbaird, then leave this hallway through the door to the north. In this room, you'll have to fight 1 Heavy Armor and 3 Red Skeletons, but to win, just kill the Heavy Armor and ignore the Red Skeletons. After this, check both east and west higher up platforms to get 2 Grey Money Bags, then exit this room through the door to the southeast. In this room, grab the Marker Stone 6, then jump onto the Switch and you'll see that same door again with another circle that glows red. After this, I suggest you use your Map and backtrack to a Save Room and Save, then using your Map, go back to the room that looks like a rectangle with a circle for it's west side, with the room to the west greyed out. That's where you need to go to continue. Once you are ready and back in that rectangle/circle room, exit the room through the door to the north and in this hallway, you'll see a quick cutscene of 15 Flea Mans coming your way. They're fast and a pain in the ass to deal with. Anyway, once you're done, follow the path and enter the door to the west and in this room, watch out for the circles that go around and try to hit you with spikes. ALWAYS keep moving and jump CONSTANTLY. Though, do attempt to grab the 4 Silver Coins and 3 Gold Coins here. After you grab these, exit this room through the southeast door and in this long hallway, follow the path and when it bends east, take it. You'll have to fight 2 Skeleton Swordsmans, so deal with them then head into the Save Room and Save. Next, head south and back to where you were before and destroy the Yellow Candle Stand here to get the Holy Water, but only if you like close range Sub-Weapons. Either way, exit this hallway to the north of the Holy Water. In this room, it's another floor with those damn spikes and even more things to collect. Grab the 6 Gold and 6 Silver Coins, then in the VERY far south corner, grab the Purple Money Bag, then exit this room through the door to the southwest. In this hallway, follow the path and exit this room through the door to the north. Now, you'll be in a room with a spike floor, so BE CAREFUL. Follow the path now and jump over the spikes once you come near you and enter the door you come across and enter it. Follow the path and kill the 2 Wolf Skeletons, then examine the door and note that you need the Yellow Dragon Key to open it. I suggest you place your Yellow Marker Stone here so you remember to come back. After this, backtrack to the previous room and continue to follow the path around the room and you'll find another door. Enter it and in this room, jump onto the Switch and you'll see that other door now will have another circle light up red on it. So both doors have 2 circles each now and only need 1 more to be lit. Now, on your Map, with the compass facing north, head back to the room all the way to the west, with a grey area to the south that leads to a room identicle to the one you're in now. Head back to that room now. Once you're there, head to the west door and exit this room through that. In this hallway, follow the path and exit through the door to the north and in this room, follow the path west and enter the door you come across. In this room, hit the Switch here and you'll see one of the doors will now be open, yet you haven't found that door yet. You will soon, though. Anyway, exit this room and now and follow the path west again and enter the next door you come across. In this hallway, follow the path and exit to the north and in this room, you'll have to fight some Enemies again, but it's rather easy. Take out the 4 Skeleton Archers and 5 Skeleton Knights, then jump up to the platform to the west and grab the Potion here, then exit the room through the west door. In this room, you'll find that door you just unlocked, so head through it and in this hallway, take care of the Heavy Armor here, then exit through the door to the north. In this room, take care of the 5 Vassagos and 7 Zombies, then get up onto the higher platform to the east and grab the Blue Money Bag here, then exit the room through the door to the south and in this room, you'll fight more Enemies yet again. Deal with 5 Wolf Skeletons and 1 Spartacus, a REALLY tough enemy and you'll win. After this, head up onto the platform to the east and grab the Potion here, then exit this room through the northwest door. In this hallway, take out the 1 Peeping Eye and 6 Skeletons, but actually, there's a "secret" here. You'll notice that the 6 Skeletons don't move at all and that the Peeping Eye here will go into a ball for it's flame attack. When it does this, hit it once with a light Whip attack and it'll roll over to the Skeletons and knock them down, like a bowling game. Everytime you hit the Peeping Eye, you're killing it, so be careful. To win this "game", you must destroy 3 sets of Skeletons. The first set is 6, the next is 3 and the final is 4. If you can kill them all by using the Peeping Eye before the Peeping Eye dies, you'll get a bowl of Ramen. Sweet, huh? When you're done, head through the door here to the north and in this room, jump onto the Switch to unlock the other door now that you have found yet, but soon will. After this, backtrack 3 rooms and this time, back in the room on your Map that has another door that leads to a greyed out area, head north now through the door here and in this hallway, follow the path and exit through the door to the north. Now, you'll appear in a large room now with a puzzle to solve. Head north and jump onto the Switch here and let it go all the way down. Then, jump up onto the higher platform to the north and head west to the ledge and you'll see Poles you'll need to whip yourself over. You just unlocked the door, but electricity prevents you from just walking back. You have a set amount of time to make it to the door, otherwise you have to try again. (You'll also see a cutscene showing you where to go, so that helps.) Once you make it over, enter the door to the north and in this hallway, you'll find a Yellow Candle Stick with the Cross inside. Take it if you wish, otherwise, follow the path and head down the stairs you comes across to the south. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - House Of Sacred Remains: Basement Floor 1 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Bloody Cape, Blue Orb, HP Max Up x1 and White Tiger Key. As you begin the basement level of the House Of Sacred Remains, head north and enter the door. In this room, you'll have to fight more Enemies again, this time dealing with 3 Astral Fighters and 4 Vassagos. The Astral Fighters are a BITCH to handle, so watch it. After you win, head east through the door here and in this hallway, follow the path and head through the door here to the north. In this room, go through the door here that you recently unlocked and in this hallway, take out the 5 Skeleton Archers here, then enter the door to the north. In this room, grab the White Tiger Key here, then backtrack to the room where you fought the 3 Astral Fighers and 4 Vassagos. Now, in this room again, head west through the door here and in this room, take out the 1 Executioner and 2 Vassagos here, then head east through the door here and in this hallway, follow the path and head through the door to the north and in this room, don't try to fall to the area below, as 2 Wolf Skeletons are there, alone with 2 Red Skeletons. Now, head across the platforms up here and watch out for the lasers here and do NOT jump over them. The wooden boxes holding you up can't hold you if you jump into the air and have you land on them. So you'll have to run past the lasers when the time's right. Once you get across the platform, head through the door here and in this hallway, head through the door to the east and in this Save Room, heal up and Save your game. Now, backtrack to where you fought the Executioner and 2 Vassagos, then head through the door to the west here. In this hallway, there's a Yellow Candle Stand that holds the Knife Sub-Weapon, so grab it if you want, otherwise, you'll just get a Big Heart for your troubles, if you have the Knife already, then head through the door here to the north. In this room, you'll have to solve a puzzle to open two doors. You can only open one door at a time, so let's start with the one to the southwest. First, hit the statues here to get this pattern, from Leon's Left to his right: Goat, Girl, Goat, Girl, Girl. Once this happens, the door will open, so enter it to the southwest and in this room, grab the HP Max Up, then exit this room and in the previous room, to solve the other door's puzzle, hit the statues from Leon's Left to his right like this: Girl, Goat, Goat, Girl, Goat. After this, the other door will open to the east, so go and enter it. In this room, you'll have to fight 10 Poison Zombies and 3 Astral Fighters. Kill one Poison Zombie and you'll learn a new Skill, the A Extension 2. After you take care of everything here, head north through the door here and in this hallway and take care of the 3 Evil Swords here. After this, head through the door here to the north and in this room, grab the Bloody Cape Accessory for Leon. Equip it, since you may not have any other Accessories right now and it's better than nothing. Now, backtrack to the Save Room you used just a little while ago and heal up and Save your game again. Now, once you're done, exit the Save Room and head north and follow the path and take out the Executioner here, then get ready to encounter the first REAL Boss in this game, the Undead Parasite. Head through the door and you'll fight him. If you want a strategy for him, head to Section VII. Boss Guide now and look for his name and hints on how to beat him. After you win, grab the Blue Orb and note on your Map you don't have a Complete yet under your Map Percent. That's because the Yellow Dragon Door holds the final area for this place, but you'll have to come back later, so DO NOT forget. Anyway, step onto the Teleporter that appears now and you'll appear back outside of Rinaldo's House. Whew, that's 1 area down, 4 to go. Now, since you have some cash now, you'll probably want to buy some stuff from him, so head in and do so. One thing you'll definitely want to buy now, IF you have 15.0% of the Map cleared, which you SHOULD if you followed my walkthrough so far, is the Earth Plate. Buy it and Equip it immediately. Buy some Potions and the like if you need them and if you have enough, grab the White Bishop and if you have even more, grab the Sacrificial Doll as well. Whenever you're ready, exit his shop and head back to the castle. As you enter the castle, you'll see a scene where the Blue Orb in the Castle Entrance will glow now. After this, head to the Save Room nearby and Save your game, then head back to the Warp Room. Now, head onto the platform all the way to the west, which will take you to the Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - D. Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ ASML6.4 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab: Floor 1 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Ancient Text 4, Blue Money Bag x1, Marker Stone 4, Map 2 and White Orb. As you begin this area of the castle, take out the 2 Skeletons here, then head north through the door and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the west. In this room, you'll have to fight 5 Ghost Warriors and 4 Skeleton Knights. Afterwards, head through the door to the west and in this hallway, follow the path and kill the 3 Flame Zombies here and then enter the door to the north. In this room, take out the 2 Hellhounds and 1 Armor Knight and when you kill 1 Hellhound, you'll learn a new Skill, which is the Quick Step 2. After this, head through the door to the north and follow the path in the hallway and enter the door to the west. In this room, take out the 7 Flame Zombies and 7 Frost Zombies, then notice the statue here. Unfortunately, you can't break it yet to get to the room behind it, so use your Red and Blue Marker Stones here and return once you get the Whip Of Flames and Whip Of Ice. Then, after this, head north and enter the door here and in this hallway, take out the 3 Flame Zombies, then if you want it, grab the Cross Sub-Weapon here, otherwise, head through the door to the north, then take out the 2 Axe Armors and 6 Ghost Warriors, then on your map, backtrack to the room before the room where your Map Markers are right now, the one with the long hallway that leads back to the start. Head back there and in this hallway again, head south and enter the door here. In this room, take out the 4 Flame Zombies and 8 Ghost Warriors, then exit this room through the door to the west, then stop. Look on your Map now and head to back to that hallway you were just in before you where in the previous room and follow it to the end again and kill the 3 Flame Zombies here, that way you know where you're going is right and enter the door to the north. Now, in this room again, head east and enter the Save Room and Save your game, then exit this room and head west through the door and in this hallway, follow the path south and enter the door here and in this room, take out the 6 Frost Zombies and 3Skeleton Swordsmans, then exit this room through the door to the northeast. In this hallway, grab the Axe Sub-Weapon if you want it, but either way, take out the 3 Flame Swords and head north through the door and in this room, take out the 2 Axe Armors and 6 Skeleton Swordsmans, then head through the door to the northeast and in this long hallway, follow the path and enter the first door you come across and in this room, kill the 2 Peeping Eyes and 1 Astral Warrior. Killing the Astral Warrior will net you the Draw Up Skill, so kill him. After this, grab the Blue Money Bag here, then exit the room and continue north and enter the next door you come across. In this room, kill the 1 Axe Knight and 2 Red Skeletons, actually, killing the Axe Knight is enough and when you're done, grab the Marker Stone 4 in the corner, then exit this room. Back in the hallway, grab the Crystal Sub-Weapon if you want it, otherwise, grab the Map 2 Item, which is the Map to the Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab, then ignore the next door you come across and continue north and enter the door to the east and in this room, take out the 5 Flame Zombies and 1 Mad Diver, then grab the Ancient Text 4 Item, then exit this room and back in the hallway, go and enter the door you just passed and in this room, head north up the stairs to Floor 2. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab: Floor 2 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Blue Money Bag x1, Heart Max Up x2, High Potion x1, HP Max Up x1, Potion x1, Purple Money Bag x1, Red Orb, Yellow Dragon Key, Whip Of Flames and Wolf's Foot. As you begin this Floor, head south and enter the door here and out in the hallway, head south and grab the Knife Sub-Weapon here if you want, otherwise, continue on and enter the first door you come across. In this room, take out the 4 Astral Warriors, then grab the Blue Money Bag here, then exit the room. Back in the hallway, continue south and enter the door here to enter a Save Room. Save and heal up, then exit and continue south and enter the door to the east here. In this room, grab the Purple Money Bag, then exit through the door to the east. In this hallway, head to the end of it and examine the door to see that you need a Red Phoenix Key. At this point, use your Red Marker Stone here and leave your Blue Marker Stone on at the statue on the first Floor still. (On your way back, watch out for 2 Hellhounds and 1 Axe Knight now.) Then, backtrack to the long hallway again where the Knife Sub-Weapon is and head north now, to the very end of the hallway and enter the door to the east and in this room, take out the 8 Hanged Mans, then grab the High Potion here and exit the room. Back in the hallway, head through the door to the north and in this room, watch out for the 2 Skeleton Flowers below you and jump down to the area below you and head all the way north and check behind the pillar here to get a Heart Max Up. Then, jump up the stairs nearby and ignore the door nearby and instead, wait for the moving platform to come back to you and jump onto it and attempt to jump over to the other side to the east that has a door there. Once you're over there, enter the door here and in this room, grab the HP Max Up, then exit this room and get back onto the moving platform. Next, ride it past the door you just came out of and jump onto the other platform to the east you come across. On this platform, grab the Potion here, then to the southeast you'll notice some Poles for you to Whip onto. Do so and you'll find a Boss Door and to the south a bit, another Heart Max Up. Grab it, then if you are ready, enter the Boss Door, which leads to the first optional Boss of the game. (Note: Make sure you have Saved your game and have enough Potions on hand.) As you enter, you'll fight the Flame Elemental, so if you want a stategy on him, head to Section VII. Boss Guide for more on that. Otherwise, fight him on your own. After you win, you'll get the Whip Of Flames. I suggest you use it, since it's better than the Whip Of Alchemy. Once you're ready, heal up if you need to, then head to the north end of the room with the moving platform in it and exit to the west through the door. In this hallway, follow the path south and exit this room through the door to the east. In this room, take out the 1 Red Ogre and 4 Red Skeletons, actually, just the Red Ogre, then exit the room through the door to the northwest and in this hallway, head south and exit through the door to the east. In this room, head southeast and on the ground, look for a yellow tile and stand on it. You'll be brought to a secret room, which holds the Yellow Dragon Key, the Key you needed for the House Of Sacred Remains. Take it, then head back up to where you were and head up the stairs to Floor 3 to the west, but when I tell you to come back to this part of the walkthrough, do so. In the meantime, continue on reading the Floor 3 part. Welcome back. Ok, back on Floor 2 now, on your Map, head into the grey room to the north of where you are. So, head north through the door from where you entered into Floor 2 again and in this hallway, take out the Peeping Eye, then enter the door to the north. Back in this room, ignore the Red Ogre and 3 Red Skeletons and head east through the door and in this hallway, head east into the Save Room and heal up and Save. Then, exit the Save Room and head north and enter the Boss Door. Inside, there's no Boss...yet. Head east over to the wall where it says "meth" on it and examine it. It'll give you an option, so say yes and then the Boss will appear. If you want a strategy on him, head to Section VII. Boss Guide now, otherwise, fight him yourself and continue on. After you win, grab the Red Orb and then step into the Teleporter to head back to Rinaldo's Shop. At this time, if you've followed my walkthrough to a point, Rinaldo will be carrying the Meteor Plate, a better piece of Armor for Leon, so buy it and Equip it immediately. After this, buy anything else you may need, then make your way back to the castle and once inside, you'll see the Red Orb here light up. That's 2 down now. 3 to go. Go and Save your game, then head back to the House Of Sacred Remains now and head back to the Yellow Dragon Door and open it now with your Yellow Dragon Key and enter it. Inside, you'll get the Black Bishop, a great Relic for Leon. After this, use a Magical Ticket to exit or just backtrack to the Teleporter and leave this place. (Note: At this time, you have Completed the House Of Sacred Remains completely, hopefully. Your Map Percent, at this point, SHOULD be 36.2%. If not, something's wrong, so backtrack and look for any rooms you may have missed. Either way, if not, you're gold, so let's continue on.) Next, head back to the Warp Room and head to the platform to the east of the one that leads to the House Of Sacred Remains. Now, head to The Walkthrough, E. Dark Palace Of Waterfalls now to continue on. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab: Floor 3 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Ancient Text 1, Ancient Text 3, Arctic Ring, "E" Tablet, High Potion x1, Megingjord, MP Max Up x1, Potion x1, Shortcake x1 and Super Potion x1. As you begin Floor 3, take out the 4 Astral Warriors, then exit this room through the door to the east and in this hallway, grab the Cross Sub-Weapon if you want, otherwise, head all the way north and you'll see a black painting on the wall. Jump into it and in this room you appear in, grab the Arctic Ring, then exit through the black painting now and back in the hallway, head south and enter the door you see. In this room, take out the 3 Mad Divers, then grab the Ancient Text 3 Item and exit the room. In the hallway again, head south and enter the next door you come across and in this room, take out the 1 Axe Knight and 2 Axe Armors, then grab the Super Potion and exit the room. In the hallway again, continue south and enter the next door to the east you come across and in this room, take out the 4 Hellhounds, then grab the Ancient Text 1 here and exit the room. Then, in the hallway again, continue south and enter the next door you come across and in this room, take out the 1 Flame Demon and ignore the 3 Red Skeletons here and grab the MP Max Up, then leave the room. Then, in the hallway again, head south and exit this place through the door to the east. In this rather large room, you'll have to quickly reach the top before the platforms disappear. To do this, head north and leap up to the higher up platform and hit the horsehead to hit a lever. Then, head northeast and then hurry as fast as you can up the platforms and Poles here and get to the top. If you fail, just keep trying and once you make it up, head through the door to the north and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the north and in this small room, grab the "E" Tablet, a vital Item to beating the Boss of this place. Then, around this area, hidden from the camera, is a Shortcake, so, make sure you grab it. After this, backtrack to the room with the 2F symbol on your Map. Once there, head west through the door here and in this hallway, follow the path and take out the 2 Flame Zombies and 2 Flame Swords, then exit through the door to the north. In this room, take out the 4 Hellhounds and 2 Flame Demons, then exit the room through the door to the northwest. In this hallway, follow the path and exit this place through the door to the north. In this room, don't bother trying to cross the bridge, as you just simply aren't fast enough and instead, head to the area below and watch out for 10 Hanged Mans here and grab the Potion and High Potion here, then place a white Marker Stone here, so you remember about this room to come back to later. After this, head back down to Floor 2 and at this time, head back to the Floor 2 section of this walkthrough for the Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - E. Dark Palace Of Waterfalls . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ DPOW6.5 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Dark Palace Of Waterfalls: Basement Floor 1 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Blue Money Bag x1, Gold Coin x1, Green Orb, Heart Max Up x2, Heart Repair x1, HP Max Up x1, Map 3, Marker Stone 8, Meditative Incense, MP Max Up x1, Purple Money Bag x1, Raccoon Charm, Super Potion x1 and Whip Of Ice. As you begin this area of the castle, take out the 4 Skeletons here and then head west and exit through the door to the north. In this long hallway, you'll see a small cutscene with 2 Fish Mans coming in to attack you. Deal with them, then when you come to a fork, head northeast and take out another Fish man, then head through the door to the north. In this room, kill the 5 Fish Mans and 5 Skeleton Swordsmans, then exit this room through the door to the northeast. In this long hallway, take out the 1 Fish Man you see, then take out the 3 others that come in. After this, head northwest when you come to the fork and enter the door to the north. In this room, take out the 4 Fish Mans and 3 Frost Swords. After this, head through the door to the west and in this hallway, grab the Axe Sub-Weapon here if you wish, otherwise, exit this place through the door to the north. Now, in this room, hit the lever with your Whip until you get a message telling you that a bridge has now appeared in the room with the large waterfall. Don't worry about this yet. Now, exit this room and backtrack through the hallway here and in the next room, head through the door to the north. In this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the north and in this room, take out the 1 Flea Man, then get ready to take out 16 Flea Mans. After this, head southwest through the door and in this hallway, take out the 2 Mermans and 2 Lizard Mans, then head northeast at the fork and follow the path and enter the door to the north after killing 1 Merman to enter a Save Room. Save and heal up, then exit and backtrack to the fork here and head northwest this time and enter the door to the north. In this room, take out the 5 Skeleton Soliders and 1 Heavy Armor, then take out the 6 Vassagos. After this, grab the Map 3 Item here, then exit this room through the door to the northwest and in this hallway, take out the 2 Mermen, then exit this place through the door to the north. In this room, grab the Marker Stone 8 Item, then look on your Map. To the north should be a small grey area that you've yet to explore, mainly just a hallway and a room. Head back to the room on your Map now that is just south of the greyed out hallway. In this room with the 17 Flea Mans, head northeast and enter the door here and in this hallway, take out the 2 Skeleton Archers and 2 Mermans, then exit through the door to the east. In this room, take out the 4 Fish Mans and 1 Merman. After this, backtrack to the first fork on this Floor near the S Symbol on your map and this time, head northwest through the door to the north after taking care of 1 Merman here. In this room, take out the 2 Frost Swords and 1 Frost Demon, then exit this room through the door to the northwest. In this hallway, take out the 3 Fish Mans, then at the fork, head northwest to the dead end and grab the Axe Sub-Weapon here if you wish. Once you reach it, you'll notice the wall looks odd. Turn around and walk back and you'll see that a Heavy Armor has appeared. Lure him near the wall and try and get him to throw his Mace at you. He SHOULD hit the wall if he's close enough and a opening will appear. Enter it and in the next room, take out the 1 Axe Armor and ignore the 4 Red Skeletons, then enter the door to the northwest. Next, in this room, jump down to the area below and head east to find a Purple Money Bag, then, jump back up to the higher up platform and then jump west to the next higher up platform. Here, jump high east and Whip the banister and land on this platform, then head west onto the pillar, then jump high west and Whip the banister and you'll appear near a door. Don't enter it, UNLESS you want to fight another optional Boss, which I suggest you do. If you are prepared and have enough healing Items, continue on, if not, enter this door now. Anyway, to fight the optional Boss, from where you stand now, jump south from the door and you'll land on a pillar. Then, jump west and Whip the banister and grab the Super Potion nearby, then jump east and Whip the banister, then jump high west and Whip the banister, then jump high east and Whip the banister and you'll reach the Boss Door. If you are ready, enter it and if you need a strategy on the Frost Elemental, head to Section VII. Boss Guide for more on her, otherwise, fight her yourself and continue on. After you win, you'll gain the Whip Of Ice. Use it if you wish, otherwise, stick with whatever Whip you want. Next, exit this room and back in the previous room, head to the door you passed earlier and enter it now. In this room, grab the HP Max Up, then head into the Skull Head here, but WAIT AND READ THIS BEFORE DOING SO: Even though this is a fun type of ride, there's a prize to be won from it. Basically, if you can manage to collect all 40 Silver Coins, you'll get the Meditative Incense, a Relic for Leon. Now, to get all 40, as the ride begins, move all the way to the east and you'll grab the 5 Silver Coins here. Then move all the way to the west and grab the 5 Silver Coins here. Then back to the east, then the west and repeat. Now, there's things here that'll be in your way and hurt you, but just let them hit you, as the damage is small and you're focusing on getting the Meditative Incense. Once you get all the Silver Coins, you'll hear a chime, so stand in the middle of the platform now to grab it at the end. If you fail to get it, you can try again, but you'll have to head back to this room to do it. Anyway, when you're ready, attempt it and pray you get it. Now, at this point, head to the Dark Palace Of Waterfalls: Basement Floor 2 section now (It's right below this.) and come back to this part when I tell you to. Welcome back. Well, after you ride the Skeleton Ride, back on this Floor, look at your Map. See the grey area to the east? Head back to that hallway before it now, the one where you had to have the Heavy Armor break the wall and the one with the Axe Sub-Weapon in it. Once there, head northeast at the fork and take care of the 1 Fish Man here, then enter the door to the north and in this room, take out the 4 Fish Mans and 1 Merman, then head through the door to the northeast. In this room with the 3 Axes, pass by the first Axe, then high jump up to the ledge to the east to find a Heart Max Up, then high jump to the west from here and Whip the Pole to reach another ledge, which holds the Raccoon Charm. Equip this as an Accessory, as it GREATLY increases your Luck. After this, head north and exit this room through the door to the north. In this hallway, head south and take out the 2 Mermans and 1 Heavy Armor and at the fork, head northeast and kill another Merman and enter the door to the north. In this room, take out the 4 Rune Spirits and 2 Vassagos, then jump down to the area below and grab the Heart Repair in the middle of the room. Next, climb back up to the platform above you to the east and now Whip yourself across the Poles to the west and collec the 1 Gold Coin here, then jump high over to the east and Whip yourself across the higher up Poles here to the other side and grab the Blue Money Bag here. Then, high jump to the west and Whip yourself again across the next highest set of Poles to the other side, then enter the door to the northwest. In this room, grab the Heart Max Up, then exit this room and in the previous room, backtrack now to the next previous room. Back in the hallway now, head south and take out the 1 Merman, then enter the door to the west that leads to a Save Room. Save your game and heal up, then exit and back in the hallway, head south and enter the door to the east and in this room, exit this room through the door to the northeast. Now, in this room, follow the path and you'll find a Boss Door. Now, get ready, as you're about to fight Joachim. Enter it and after a cutscene, which Leon meets a mysterious Vampire named Joachim and learns that he's after Walter as well. Not only that, but he learns about the Ebony Stone, but he won't learn anymore, as you'll be forced to fight him. If you want a strategy, head to Section VII. Boss Guide for one, otherwise, kill him yourself and move on. After you win, Joachim will tell Leon about the Ebony Stone and he'll learn about it and also hear about the Crimson Stone. After this, Joachim will die and the Green Orb will appear. Grab it, then you'll see another cutscene, as Leon wonders about the Crimson Stone and Alchemy, thinking Rinaldo will know about it and walk off, as a misty figure watches. After this, you've done all you can here, but you'll have to come back later, so keep that in mind. For now, step onto the Teleporter and get out of here. Once back at Rinaldo's Shop, enter it and a cutscene will take place, as Leon asks him about the Ebony and Crimson Stones. He begins to tell him about them and mentions the Philosophere's Stone and mentions how the other two were made accidentally, but the Crimson Stone makes the souls of Vampire's into power for the owner. If a Human uses it, they'll lose their humanity. Hmm...and with both of these, the owner will have an insane amount of power, but both have gone missing...odd. Anyway, the cutscene will end and you're free to shop with Rinaldo. After you're done resupplying your Items, check your Map Percent. If you've followed my walkthrough to the point, it SHOULD be 49.7% right now. If not, you've missed something, so browse through it and get back on track. If you're on track, then continue on and if you don't really care, well, continue reading anyway. Your next goal is to head back to the castle and when you enter, you'll see the Green Orb light up now. That's 3 down now, 2 to go. Go ahead and Save your game now, then head back to the Warp Room and step onto the Teleporter to the west of the one that leads to the House Of Sacred Remains and you'll enter the Garden Forgotten By Time. So, right now, head to The Walkthrough, F. Garden Forgotten By Time to continue on. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Dark Palace Of Waterfalls: Basement Floor 2 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Blue Dragon Key, HP Max Up x1, Little Hammer and MP Max Up x1. After riding the Skeleton Ride, you'll be dropped off in a room on Basement Floor 2 and there's a lever nearby. Hit it until you get a message about the flow of water changing, then exit this room to the northwest. In this room, take out the 1 Cyclops and 2 Merman, then exit through the door to the east and in this huge hallway, take out the 2 Flea Mans and 1 Cyclops and head south, then at the fork head northeast and enter the door to the north. In this room, take out the 2 Lizard Mans and 1 Cyclops, then head through the door to the northeast. In this hallway, grab the Crystal Sub-Weapon if you wish, otherwise, exit this place through the door to the north. In this room, take out the 12 Lizard Mans here and if you need to heal, don't waste an Item, as there's a HP Max Up in the north corner, so grab that to heal yourself completely and gain 10 HP, but be sure to get it anyway. After this, backtrack to the LONG hallway where you see a Black Key symbol on your Map. Place a Marker Stone here, as you'll find the Key to that door later on and want to come back. Anyway, exit this hallway by heading south and then exit the hallway through the door to the east. In this room, take out the 1 Armor Knight and 4 Mermans, then exit the room through the door to the northwest. In this room, watch out for the 3 swining Axes and head south and exit this room through the door to the east. In this hallway, follow the path south and take out the 3 Skeleton Archers and 3 Lizard Mans, then head northeast at the fork and enter the door to the north. In this room, take out the 2 Lizard Mans and 10 Flea Mans, then head through the door to the northeast. In this hallway, take out 2 Flea Mans and 2 Lizard Mans, then head north until you see a frozen door. Use the Whip Of Flames on it if you have it, otherwise, use a Marker Stone here to remember to come back later. If you do have the Whip Of Flames, after destroyting the ice, enter the door and in this room, grab the Little Hammer, another Relic for Leon. After this, backtrack to the room where you fought 2 Mermans and 10 Flea Mans just previously and exit this room now through the door to the northwest. In this room with the 3 Axes, head over and exit this room through the door to the north and in this room, take out the 2 Frost Demons and 3 Heavy Armor, then exit this room through the door to the southwest. In this hallway, take out the 4 Lizard Mans, then at the fork, head northwest and grab the Potion and exit this place through the door to the north into the Save Room. Save your game and heal, then exit back into the hallway and head back to the fork and head northeast this time and exit this place through the door to the north, but get ready for a Boss fight against the Doppelganger. If you want a strategy on him, head to Section VII. Boss Guide now, otherwise, fight him yourself and win and then continue on. After you win, exit this room through the door to the northeast and in this hallway, grab the Cross Sub-Weapon if you want, otherwise, exit this place through the door to the north. In this room, ignore the Skull Head here and enter the door to the northwest and in this room, you'll have to hit all 3 Lamposts to open the door and you'll have 8 seconds to do so the second you hit the first Lampost. Just start with the one that's close to you and hit the other two as you head southeast and then enter the door to the east as fast as possible. In this room, you'll find the Blue Dragon Key, so take it, then exit this room and then backtrack through the previous room and in the room now with the Skull Head, but yet again, WAIT. Just like before, this is another little game for you to play. Same strategy as before, but the prize this time at the very end is a MP Max Up, so if you fail to get it, go and try again. Anyway, at this time, head back to the Dark Palace Of Waterfalls: Basement Floor 1 section (It's above this part.) and continue reading The Walkthrough there. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - F. Garden Forgotten By Time . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ GFBT6.6 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Garden Forgotten By Time: Floor 1 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Blue Money Bag x4, Heart Max Up x1, HP Max Up x1, Jewel Crush, Marker Stone 5, Potion x1, Red Phoenix Key, Ring Of Fire, Ring Of Thunder, Saisei Incense and Tool Bag. As you begin this area of the castle, take out the 3 Skeletons here, then head northwest through the door and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the north. In this room, kill the 8 Skeletons, then exit this room through the door to the northwest. In this hallway, take out the 2 Skeleton Swordmans, then continue on and enter the door to the east and in this room, hit the Statue here all the way until it locks into place. You'll then see a door as one of the circles on it glows red, just like in the House Of Sacred Remains. Anyway, exit this room and back in the hallway, enter the door to the northwest. Now, in this room, take out the 13 Bats and the 5 Ghosts, then exit this room through the door to the northwest. In this hallway, head west into the door you come across and in this room, you'll see a small cutscene of what you must do. Though, before attempting to Whip yourself across on the Poles, jump down to the area below and look behind the stairs to find a HP Max Up, then head southwest to find a Blue Money Bag. Then, head back up and the trick to crossing this part is to jump and Whip the Poles just as they're reaching the top. Do this once, then land on the platform, then do it again, this time doing it twice, then when you pass the second Pole, hit the Switch and land, then jump over and enter the door to the west. In this hallway, take out the 2 Skeleton Swordsmans and 1 Skeleton Archer, then enter the door to the north. In this room, hit the Statue here into place like you did before and you'll see the same door again, as another circle will glow red now. Next, backtrack to the hallway you where in before the room with the Poles, the one with the Axe Sub-Weapon in it on your Map. Back in the hallway, head south and grab the Axe Sub-Weapon if you wish, otherwise, at the fork, head north and enter the door to the north and in this room, take out the 1 Evil Stabber and ignore the 2 Red Skeletons and once you kill the Evil Stabber, you'll learn the Rising Shot Skill. After this, grab the Potion, then exit this room the same way you came in. Back in the hallway, head south all the way now and enter the door to the east and in this room, take out the 4 Astral Warriors and 2 Buckbairds, then exit this room through the door to the northwest. Now, in this hallway, head west into the door here to enter a Save Room, so Save your game and heal, then exit and back in the hallway, head north and enter the door to the north. In this room, take out the 3 Ghosts and 2 Shadow Wolfs, then head northwest and grab the Map 4 Item and enter the door here as well. In this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the north and in this room, you'll see a small cutscene of 2 Gargoyles coming to life. Take them out, then another one will fly in, so kill it. After this, head northeast and enter the door and in this hallway, head all the way south and enter the door to the east and in this room, take out the 4 Storm Skeletons, then head through the door to the northeast. In this hallway, follow the path and head to the door to the north and use the Blue Dragon Key here and in this room, grab the Tool Bag, a great Item that lets you now Equip 3 Accessories total, so Equip another one right away. After this, backtrack to the hallway on your Map that to the east leads to a grey room. Once you're back in the hallway, head east at the fork and enter the door to the north and in this room, take out the 6 Axe Armors here, then take out the 2 Evil Stabbers and then exit through the door to the northeast. In this hallway, head north at the fork and grab the Knife Sub-Weapon if you wish, otherwise, exit through the door to the north. In this room, take out the 3 Shadow Wolfs and 1 Gargoyle, then grab the Blue Money Bag to the northwest, then exit the room through the door to northeast and in this hallway, take out the 1 Buckbaird, then exit the room through the door to the east. In this room, take out the 2 Skeleton Archers and 1 Thunder Demon, then exit the room through the door to the northeast and in this hallway, head all the way north and enter the door here and in this room, kill the 3 Skeleton Archers and 1 Gargoyle, then head through the door to the northeast. Now, in this hallway, take out the 5 Ghosts, then exit this room through the door to the east and in this room, kill the 3 Skeleton Soldiers and 1 Evil Stabber, then grab the Blue Money Bag to the northwest and next, on your Map, head back to the hallway where you see a greyed out Save Room to the north in the hallway to the east. Once you're back in the hallway, head east at the fork and then head through the door to the west to enter a Save Room. Save up and heal, then exit and back in the hallway, head north through the door and in this room, kill the 1 Mist to learn the Energy Blast Skill, (Note: I am NOT sure about learning the Energy Blast Skill and the Rising Shot Skill from the Evil Stabber and Mist Enemies, so if you don't learn them from these guys, then don't worry, just means you'll get them later or perhaps before this, but oh well. I haven't listed a few Skills here that I did learn from Enemies, but from past Experience, I didn't exactly learn them from them last time, so I didn't put them down here as ones you learn from them if you beat them each time and that it's guaranteed. Ah well.) then, do NOT kill the Man-Eating Plant and instead, lure it over to the wall to the west and jump high to see a ledge that's out of your reach. Bring it over as close as you can and then Whip it a few times, stop and it should open up. When it does, jump onto it and use it as something to jump off of to reach the ledge. Once up here, grab the Blue Money Bag, then enter the door. In this room, grab the Jewel Crush Accessory, then hit the Statue here into the hole and you'll see another door now, as one of the circles glows red. After this, exit this room and feel free to kill the Man-Eating Plant now, otherwise, head through the door to the northeast and in this hallway, head north and grab the Holy Water Sub-Weapon, otherwise, head through the door to the north. In this room, take out the 3 Poison Lizards and 1 Thunder Demon, then head through the door to the southwest. In this hallway, follow the path and exit through the door to the north and in this room, grab the Marker Stone 5, then hit the Statue here into the hole and you'll see the other door now, as the final circle glows red, then they'll all turn green and the door will unlock. You'll find this door soon enough, but for now, backtrack to the hallway that has the Holy Water Sub-Weapon in it and once there, head south all the way and enter the door to the east and in this room, take out the 1 Mist and 2 Shadow Wolfs, then exit this room through the door to the northeast. Now, in this room, take out the 2 Buckbairds, then do NOT kill the Man-Eating Plant here. Instead, lure it over to the northeast corner and once there, get it to open and use it as a platform to reach a higher up platform to the northeast, then enter the door here. Now, in this hallway, take out the 3 Thunder Swords and 4 Spirits. Then, head north and exit this place through the door to the north and in this room, you'll have to hit the 2 Switches behind the Statues here and you must be fast. Though, once you hit one of the Switches, 5 Spirits appear, but ignore them. Hit both Switches fast enough and you'll see the ledge will appear. Jump up onto it and exit this place through the door to the north. Now, in this area, take out the 2 Skeleton Soldiers and 6 Ghosts, then jump down and look to the northwest area in the small little structure to find a Heart Max Up, then, use the Lamposts to the northeast to get yourself back up to the higher platforms. Though, use a Map Marker here, as there's a door to the northwest that you can't reach yet, so you must come back later. Anyway, head northeast and enter the door you see here and in this rather large room, head up the stairs and take out the 3 Poison Lizards and 5 Ghosts and once you reach the top, you'll now be on Floor 2, so head to the section below this one to continue on in Floor 2. Just come back to this part, right here, once you're told to. Welcome back. Now, as you come back to the room with the Man-Eating Plant, head northwest and enter the door and in this hallway, kill the 5 Ghosts and 1 Armor Knight, then grab the Crystal Sub-Weapon if you wish, otherwise, exit this place to the north through the door. In this room, take out the 1 Skeleton Flower and 1 Gargoyle, then exit the room through the door to the northeast and in this room, take out the 3 Buckbairds and 1 Skeleton Flower, then take out the 5 Poison Lizards and 1 Skeleton Flower. Then, exit this place to the northwest through the door and in this hallway, take out the 2 Armor Knights, then head through the door to the north and in this room, hit the Statue into the hole and you'll see the other door again, as the final circle turns red, then as they all turn green and the door will unlock. Now, backtrack to the room where you just fought the 5 Poison Lizards, 3 Buckbairds and 2 Skeleton Flowers and once you're back here, exit this room through the door to the east. In this room, take out the 3 Skeleton Flowers and 1 Poison Lizard, then head through the door to the west, which is that door that you recently just unlocked. Inside, grab the Red Phoenix Key, then exit this room and in the previous room, exit through the door to the northeast. In this room, grab the Ring Of Thunder to the south, then head east and enter the door here to find a Save Room. Save and heal up, then backtrack to the room with the last Statue you put into place and once you're back here, head through the door to the northeast. In this hallway, take out the 2 Gargoyles, then head north and enter the door you see and in this room, you'll notice nothing but Statues here and no exit. Head southeast and break the Statue to the northeast to find a door behind it and enter it and in this hallway, head east into the Save Room and again, Save and heal up, then exit back into the hallway and head north to find the Boss Door. Now, go ahead and enter if you're ready and as you do, you'll see a cutscene, as Medusa appears and shows and tells Leon who she is. After this, you'll have to fight her, so if you want a strategy, head to Section VII. Boss Guide now for one, otherwise, fight her yourself and move on. After she dies, she'll talk about the Whip and Leon will boast about it's power, as she wonders if it's become complete. Leon asks about what she means, but she just tells him it's still no match for her Master, as she dies. After this, grab the Purple Orb, then step onto the Teleporter to head back to Rinaldo's Shop. As you enter the shop, Leon will ask Rinaldo about the Whip gaining it's complete form and Rinaldo will mention it's gotten stronger due to it "liking" Leon, but it's still not complete. Leon will ask how to make it so, but Rinaldo strictly tells him not to worry about it and to focus on more important things. After this, go ahead and shop from Rinaldo and at this point, if you have 60.0% or higher of the Map Percent, you can buy the Moonlight Plate from him. Do so and Equip it immediately. Other than that, stock up on anything else you may need, then leave Rinaldo's Shop. Now, at this time, head back to the castle and you'll see the Purple Orb here glow. That's 4 down now. Only 1 left. Next, go back to the Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab, as with the Red Phoenix Key in your hand, you can unlock the door there now AND after getting what's inside there, you can cross that crumbling bridge there as well, PLUS you can now break that Statue you saw before. So, first, head back to the room with that Statue that you should've marked on your Map. So, once there, hit the Statue with your Whip Of Flames until it's bright red, then switch to the Whip Of Ice and hit it until it breaks. Once it does, enter the door to the east and in this room, grab the White Orb. Next, head back to the Red Phoenix Door that you should've also marked and once here, open it with the Red Phoenix Key and enter the room. In this room, grab the Wolf's Foot, a great Relic, then head back to the room also in this area that you also marked, that has the crumbling bridge. Once here, use the Wolf's Foot and then cross the bridge, as you'll easily make it over with this. Once you do, exit this room through the door to the east and grab the Megingjord Accessory here and Equip it if you wish. After this, look at your Map Percent, as you now have officially cleared out the Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab. Now, use a Magical Ticket if you have one, other wise, just get out of here. Now, you're next step is to head back to the Garden Forgotten By Time, so head there now. Once there, in the first room you're in, exit through the door to the northeast and in this hallway, take out the 5 Ghosts, then enter the door to the north, as this is the other door you unlocked earlier, but never went through, due to the insane amount of backtracking. Anyway, in this room, grab the Ring Of Fire, then, you'll have you head ALL the way to that area you where in where you got the Heart Max Up, the one area that was on the way to fighting the Thunder Elemental. You should have placed a Marker Stone there, so head there now. Once you're back here, head to the higher up platform to the northeast a bit, then use the Wolf Relic here to leap off and jump northwest here to get yourself up onto the platform. Once you do this, head through the door to the northwest and in this room, take out the 1 Evil Stabber and 1 Thunder Demon, then head through the door to the northwest. In this hallway, take out the 3 Thunder Swords, then head north and enter the door here and in this room, grab the Saisei Incense, another Relic for Leon. After this, note on your Map that you have now fully completed the Garden Forgotten By Time, HOPEFULLY. At this point in the game, you SHOULD have now 69.9% IF you've been following my guide to the tiniest detail. If not, backtrack, look for rooms, etc, otherwise, if you don't care and/or wish to go on, exit this place and Save your game now and heal up and prepare at Rinaldo's Shop. After this, head back to the Warp Room and take the only remaining Teleporter left, which leads to the Ghostly Theatre. Now, at this time, head to The Walkthrough, G. Ghostly Theatre now to continue on with the game. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Garden Forgotten By Time: Floor 2 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Whip Of Lightning. At the top of these stairs, head north and enter the door here to the east. In this room, hit the Statue into the hole and you'll see that other door now that'll have another circle turn red. Now, after this, head south and enter the door to the east and in this hallway, take out the 1 Axe Knight, then head north and you'll see a Boss Door. Get ready, since you're going to fight an optional Boss at this point. If you're ready, head through the door, if not, skip it. Once inside, you'll have to fight the Thunder Elemental, so if you want a strategy on him, head to Section VII. Boss Guide now for one, otherwise, fight him yourself and then move on. After you win, you'll get the Whip Of Lightning and Equip it now if you wish. Next, backtrack down to Floor 1 and back to the room with the Man-Eating Plant. Now, head back to the Garden Forgotten By Time: Floor 1 section now. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - G. Ghostly Theatre . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ GT6.7 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Ghostly Theatre: Floor 1 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Ancient Text 2, Aroma Earring, Blue Money Bag x4, Heart Max Up x1, High Potion x1, HP Max Up x1, Map 5, Marker Stone 7, Potion x2 and Yellow Orb. As you enter this part of the castle, watch out for 2 Skeletons here, then exit this room through the door to the west and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the east. Now, in this room, fall down to the area below and take out the 4 Skeletons and 1 Skeleton Hunter, then grab the Heart Repair to the northeast. After this, head back up to where you came in by climbing the stairs to the west and follow the narrow path to the south, as you'll see a Bonehead (Not an actual Enemy this time, unfortunately.) who is shooting a laser. To get past this, have Leon facing west and you'll notice the laser will stop. Now, go into Guard form and move Leon past the Bonehead and once safely across, let down your Guard and continue on the path and exit this room through the door to the east. Now, in this hallway, take out the 1 Buckbaird, then grab the Crystal Sub-Weapon here if you wish, then at the fork, head north and in this room, take out the 2 Ghosts and 3 Skeleton Warriors, then head down the stairs and check the west corner here for a Potion. Next, head back up the stairs and head west and enter the door you find here and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the east. Now, in this room, you'll see there's alot more Boneheads around this time, but before attempting to cross all this, jump down to the area below and kill the 4 Skeletons and 1 Skeleton Archer, then grab the High Potion to the east near the stairs and then climb back up the stairs and back with the Boneheads, to get past the first one, have Leon facing east, then get by him, then to get past the next one, have Leon facing north as you move, then for the next one, have Leon facing south, then for the next one, have Leon facing southeast. After this, enter the door to the northwest, but then quickly exit through the same door you just came through. (This was just to get Map Percent. The area to which this hallway leads to, you'll go to from a different path.) Back in this room with the Boneheads, head west this time and follow the path until you reach another laser. Face south with Leon, then move him with the Guard stance to get by, then enter the door to the northeast. Next, in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the east and in this room, take out the 4 Ghost Soldiers and 3 Skeleton Soldiers, then head southeast down the stairs and in the west corner is a Blue Money Bag, so grab it, then grab the Holy Water Sub-Weapon to the east if you wish, otherwise, exit this room through the door to the east and in this room, take out the 4 Zombies and 6 Spirits, then grab the Aroma Earring Accessory here, then exit this room and in the previous room, exit through the door to the north. In this hallway, follow the path and exit this place through the door to the east and in this room, you'll notice little circles appearing on the ground, which are shortly followed by giant rocks hitting those areas. Right now, Leon is being attacked by a giant Meteor like thing, so never stay in one place. Anyway, you'll notice two different kinds of Statues here, which are Orange and Blue. To solve this puzzle, you must have those rocks that are coming at you destroy the Statues, so first, we'll go with the Blue Statues. Head north first to the little area and jump up to find a Pole to Whip onto. Use it and you'll find the first Blue Statue to the east. Once you get it destroyed, (Just stand near it and the rock will destroy it.) head west and jump to find another Pole, which Whip yourself onto it and you'll find another Blue Statue over here. After this, head all the way to the southwest to find another Blue Statue and once it's destroyed, head northwest up this little platform and you'll find the final Blue Statue. Once it's destroyed, the rocks will stop and the door to the northeast will open. But first, grab the Ancient Text 2 Item, then exit this room through the door to the northeast and in this room, grab the Heart Max Up Item, then exit this room and back in the previous room, this time, take out the Orange Statues, which there's only 4 of them and they're all on the ground level. After you take them out, exit this room through the door to the southwest and in this room, take out the 2 Ghosts and 4 Spirits, then head down the stairs and in the west corner is a Potion and after grabbing it, head back up the stairs and exit this room through the door to the west and once in this hallway, just exit through the door you just came through and back in this room, exit through the door to the northeast. Now, in this room, take out the 4 Shadow Wolfs and 4 Spirits, then exit this room through the door to the north and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the east and in this room, take out the 3 Shadow Wolfs, then backtrack to the room where you just fought the 4 Shadow Wolfs and 4 Spirits and this time, exit through the door to the southeast. In this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the north and in this room, take out the 1 Axe Knight and 8 Astral Knights, then exit this room through the door to the southeast. In this hallway, take out the 2 Ghosts, then head up the stairs to Floor 2 and at this time, head to the Ghostly Theatre: Floor 2 section, which is right below this and when I tell you to, come back to this part of the walkthrough. Welcome back. Now, once you're in the hallway again with the Crystal Sub-Weapon that's near the start of this part of the castle, head south this time and exit through the door to the east. In this room, head west to find the Marker Stone 7 Item, then take out the 2 Ghosts and 3 Skeleton Warriors, then head south down to the lower level and in the east corner is a Blue Money Bag. After you grab it, head back up the stairs and head east through the door and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the northeast and in this room, use the rocks here again to destroy the 4 Orange Statues and once you do so, exit this room through the door to the southeast. In this hallway, take out the 2 Shadow Wolfs, then enter the door to the west to enter a Save Room. Save and heal up, then exit and back in the hallway, head north and enter the door to the west and in this room with the rising spike platforms, head west over to the wall and jump up. You should see a platform above you and a Pole for you to Whip onto. Use the Wolf's Foot to get an extra boost in your jump to reach it if you need to, but once you're up here, enter the door to the northwest and in this room, grab the HP Max Up Item, then exit this room and in the room with the spike platforms, head southwest and enter the door to the west here. In this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the northeast and in this room, take out the 3 Ghost Soldiers and 2 Skeleton Warriors and then in the west corner below the stairs, grab the Blue Money Bag here, then in the northeast corner up the stairs, if you want, grab the Axe Sub-Weapon, otherwise, head northwest and enter the door here. In this room, take out the 2 Skeleton Warriors and 4 Spirits, then head through the door to the east, but quickly exit and then in the previous room now, head south and in the east corner below the stairs, grab the Blue Money Bag here, then exit this place through the door to the southwest. In this room, take out the 5 Zombies and 5 Shadow Wolfs, then exit this room through the door to the northwest and in this hallway, follow the path and once you get to the door to the west, use the White Tiger Key on it and in this room, grab the Heart Brooch Accessory, then backtrack to the room where you just fought the 5 Zombies and 5 Shadow Wolfs and this time, exit this room through the door to the west. In this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the north and in this room, take out the 1 Armor Knight and 8 Astral Knights, then exit this room through the door to the door to the southwest. In this room, take out the 2 Ghosts, then head up the stairs to Floor 2. Now, yet again, head back to the Ghostly Theatre: Floor 2 section and when I tell you to, come back here. Welcome back again. Now that you're back on Floor 1, in this room, you'll have to face 1 Red Ogre and 1 Cyclops and once you kill them, head through the door to the northwest and in this room, grab the Map 5 Item, like you'll need it and then head northwest to find the Boss Door. Make sure you're completely ready and when you are, enter. Once inside, you'll find nothing here. Hmm...odd. Well, to make "something" appear, use the Curtain Time Bell Item you just got and when you do, a cutscene will take place, as Leon see Sara on the stage. As the two are glad to see each other, Leon wishes to leave, but Sara tries to stab him, but he sees this and asks who she is. After seeing her plan failed, "Sara" reveals herself as the Succubus. Leon curses himself for being so careless, as the Succubus talks about killing him. Leon sees he'll have to fight her, as she tells him she changed her mind and will instead fight him instead of her other plan that just failed. You'll now fight her, so if you want a strategy on her, head to Section VII. Boss Guide now for one, otherwise, fight her yourself. Afterwards, you'll see a cutscene with the Succubus with her telling Leon if she knew this would've happened, she would've fought him as Sara and then she mentions Rinaldo. Leon asks her about what she means and tells him something about his daughter, as she dies. After this, grab the Yellow Orb, then notice on your Map that you've fully completed the Ghostly Theatre. Good job and now, head onto the Teleporter. Once you're back at Rinaldo's Shop, head inside and you'll see a cutscene, as Leon asks Rinaldo about his daughter, but he doesn't want to talk about, but Leon pushes him, as Rinaldo agrees to tell him. He tells Leon 5 years ago, he returned home to find blood everywhere and that his son and wife were dead, with his daughter there, with blood from her fangs, as Leon realizes that she was a Vampire and Rinaldo tells him Walter did it and that she left through the window without looking at him. Then, he built the Whip Of Alchemy and went after her. Leon tells him to stop, as he heard enough and sees that's why he "owes" Walter. Rinaldo explained he fought him, but nothing happened and he now stays here to help others and Leon understands, as Rinaldo tells him to forget everything he said and to focus on himself, but Leon tells him his grief will only make him stronger and thanks him. He dismisses Leon and after this, shop from Rinaldo now and if you have 80.0% or more of the Map uncovered, Rinaldo will have the Solar Plate Armor in, the best Armor for Leon in the game, so buy it, then Equip it immediately. After this, exit and head back to the castle and you'll see the Yellow Orb light up now. That's now all 5 Orbs and the path to Walter opens. Though, before you head through the door that was just unlocked, head back to the Warp Room and head back to the Dark Palace Of Waterfalls now, as at this point, this is the only area left that isn't totally Complete and is the only area left with a door that needs to be unlocked. Once there, head back to the Black Turtle Door you marked on your Map and once there, use the Black Turtle Key to open the door and enter it and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the north. In this room, grab the Draupnir Accessory, which I suggest you Equip. After this, notice on your Map that this area is now fully complete and for a status check, you SHOULD have 84.7% of the Map complete in total now. Again, if not, backtrack, search around, everything, as ALL 5 areas of the castle should now read "Complete" under the Map Menu. Anyway, if you don't care and/or you're ready to continue, exit this place by using a Magical Ticket or just get out of here the old fashioned way and once back at Rinaldo's Shop or back in the Warp Room, head to the Save Room nearby and Save and heal right now. After this, head back to the main entrance to the castle and go ahead and enter the room that leads to Walter now to the north and at this time, head to The Walkthrough, H. Pagoda Of The Misty Moon and continue on there. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Ghostly Theatre: Floor 2 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Black Turtle Key, Brisingamen, Curtain Time Bell, HP Max Up x1 and MP Max Up x1. Once you come up to Floor 2, take out the 2 Ghosts here, then follow the path and head east into the door you see to enter a Save Room. Save your game and heal up, then exit and back in the hallway, follow the path south and exit this place through the door to the east. In this room, fall down to the area below first and take out the 23 Hanged Mans here, then grab the Mana Prism that's floating in the middle of this area and after this, climb back up the stairs to the west and back up here, follow the path to find more Boneheads to get by. First, face west to get by the first one, then carefully move Leon away from it and once you're save, head to the next one, then for this one, face north and move, but you'll have to jump over a small spot here, so be careful and ALWAYS be facing north or you'll get shot down. Once you're past this one, for the next one, face west and move and you'll have to jump here again, too, so be careful and for the next one, face east and once you get by it, enter the door to the north and in this room, grab the Black Turtle Key, which will now complete your collection of Keys. Now, after this, you must backtrack all the way to the beginning of this part of the castle, as if you'll notice on your Map, there's another area for you to take. To make things easier, you can use a Magical Ticket to warp back to Rinaldos and all, which I recommend you do, since if you don't want to trek all the way back, it'll make things easier and much faster. But anyway, at this time, go back to the Ghostly Theatre: Floor 1 section of this walkthrough, which is above this part and continue on and come back here when I tell you to. Welcome back. Ok, in this hallway, take out the 2 Ghosts, then head through the door to the west and in this room, you'll see it's another room with spike platforms rising and falling. This time, head west a bit until you see a safe area to stand from getting hit by the spikes that's up agains the wall. Once here, jump up and you'll see a Pole here. Whip yourself up, then head west here to find a MP Max Up, then head east and Whip yourself across with the Pole you see here to find a door, so enter it. In this room, you'll find the Lucifer's Sword Relic, another Relic for Leon and after you get this, exit and head northwest to find the exit to this room and enter the door here. In this room, take out the 10 Spirits and 1 Axe Armor, then exit this room through the door to the southeast and in this hallway, grab the Knife Sub-Weapon if you want, otherwise, enter the door to the west. In this dark room, you'll have to make your way across a series of platforms and if you fall off, Leon will just restart from the beginning of the room. He does NOT die, so don't worry. Anyway, from where you stand, jump east onto the platform, then jump northeast onto the next one, then jump northeast again to another, then jump east as far as you can to reach a door, so enter it. In this room, you'll find the Brisingamen Accessory and after this, exit this room and make your way back to the door that you entered this dark room in. Now, from where you are back at where you entered, head east onto the platform, then northwest onto the next platform, then northwest again onto the next platform, then northeast onto the next platform, then northwest onto the next platform, then northeast onto the next platform, then southeast onto the final platform and here, you'll find another door. Enter it and in this room, you'll find the Curtain Time Bell Item, an Item vital to beating this part of the castle. After you get this, exit this room and backtrack to the start of the dark room and then exit this place completely. Back in the hallway, head north and enter the door here. In this room, take out the 3 Buckbairds and 1 Axe Knight, then exit this room through the door to the northeast and in this hallway, take out the 2 Skeletons, then enter the door to the west to enter a Save Room. Save and heal up, then exit back into the hallway, head through the door to the east and in this room, CAREFULLY cross over this part or else you'll be knocked back down to Floor 1 and you'll have to do some MAJOR backtracking, so watch out for the laser thing here. Anyway, enter the door to the northwest at the end of this room and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the east and in this room, head east and you'll see a HP Max Up Item across a gap. Carefully jump over and grab it, then after this, jump down to the area below and at this time, head back to the Ghostly Theatre: Floor 1 section. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - H. Pagoda Of The Misty Moon . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ POTMM6.8 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Pagoda Of The Misty Moon: Floor 1 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Crystal Skull, Heart Max Up x1, HP Max Up x1, MP Max Up x1, Super Potion and Vampire Killer. As you enter the final area of the game, you'll see a cutscene, as Walter shows himself and welcomes and greets him, with introductions, though Leon is NOT happy. Walter shows him Sara, as she doesn't respond, as Leon asks this and Walter tells him she's tired and so is he, as he uses his powers on him. Though, Leon breaks out of it and Whips him, but it does nothing. After seeing it's Rinaldo's Whip and as Leon sees it doesn't work, Walter decides to "reward" Leon with Sara and returns her, then tells him that he'll he on the highest Floor of this area and looks forward to meeting him. After this, Sara wakes up, Leon is happy and takes her to Rinaldo, but as they near Rinaldo, Sara is hit with electricity and Rinaldo appears, asking what's going on. He sees Sara and tells Leon to wait inside and he meekly agrees. The next part, I won't explain, as it holds MANY spoilers to the game, so watch this cutscene to find out yourself. I will tell you, though, after this, you will gain the Vampire Killer, the complete version to the Whip Of Alchemy and after watching this scene, you'll now have a HUGE insight to the Castlevania series and alot is explained/showed to you. After you get the Vampire Killer, if you need to, restock up on any Items at Rinaldo's Shop, then make your way back to the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon. Once you're back here, in the first room, head through the door to the northeast and in this hallway, if you wish, choose ANY of the Sub-Weapons in the game here that you may want and when you're ready, head through the door to the north. In this room, jump down to the area below and to the southeast, behind the stairs, grab the Super Potion here, then head back up to the higher platform and head across this part SLOWLY and carefully, dodging the lasers. Once you're across, exit this place through the door to the northwest and in this hallway, take out the 2 Spartacuses here, then exit this room through the door to the north and be SURE you are ready, as you're about to fight another Boss. When you're ready, enter and you'll see a small cutscene, as you'll have to fight the Doppelganger again for the final time. If you want a strategy for him, head to Section VII. Boss Guide now, otherwise, fight him yourself and continue on. Afterwards, grab the HP Max Up Item in the middle of the room, then exit this place through the door to the northeast and in this hallway, take out the 2 Chaos Swords and 1 Gaap, then exit this place through the door to the north. Now, in this room, take out the 2 Phantoms, BUT, you MAY want to keep entering this room to fight them until they drop their rare drop, the Crystal Skull, a Relic for Leon. You don't have to get this, but it's something for Leon and another Relic. Either way, once you're ready, head through the door to the northeast and in this room, head east, dodging the lasers here and enter the door to the northeast. (Also, don't bother falling down in this room. There's nothing here to get.) In this hallway, take out the 2 Death Reapers and 2 Chaos Swords and once you kill one of the Death Reapers, you'll learn the Sonic Edge Skill. After this, head through the door to the north and in this room, destroy the 6 Mirage Skeletons, but WAIT. If you wish, keep fighting them and they may drop the Invincible Jar, yet another Relic for Leon. You don't have to get it, but it's a DAMN good Relic. Either way, to defeat these Mirage Skeletons, find the "real" Mirage Skeleton that's walking around away from the others. Kill that and the others will fall and die. Once they do, first, head through the door to the northwest and in this room, grab the Heart Max Up Item, then exit and in the previous room, head through the door to the northeast and in this room, grab the MP Max Up, then, backtrack now to the room with the lasers and once you're back here, head all the way to the west and enter the door to the northwest. In this hallway, follow the path and climb the stairs to the north and at this time, head to the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon: Floor 2 section, which is right below this one. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Pagoda Of The Misty Moon: Floor 2 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: "IV" Tablet, "VI" Tablet, Dragon Crest, HP Max Up x1, and Unlock Jewel. Ok, now that you're on Floor 2, in this hallway, head south and in this room, you'll have to hit some Lamposts here to open the doors, plus you have those damn circles on the ground that send spikes up at you if you stand around too long. Anyway, there's 6 Lamposts this time and you'll have 20 seconds to get to the door once you hit the first one and your goal is to exit this room through the door to the northwest. Once you do, you'll come into a hallway and once here, follow the path and exit this place through the door to the north. In this room, take out the 3 Death Reapers and 1 Phantom, then exit this room through the door to the northeast. In this LONG hallway, take out the 2 Red Ogres and 2 Dullahans, then exit this place through the door to the north. In this hallway, take out the 1 Gargoyle, then head south and exit this place through the door to the northeast and in this room, take out the 1 Gargoyle and 1 Gaap, then exit through the door to the northeast. In this hallway, take out the 4 Axe Knights and 1 Flame Demon, then exit this place through the door to the northeast and in this room, take out the 2 Executioners, then exit this room through the door to the northeast. Next, in this hallway, enter the door to the west and in this dark room, it's the same thing as it was in the Ghostly Theatre. So, this time, jump north onto the platform, then jump northwest onto the next platform, then jump west to the next two platforms, then jump southwest onto the next platform, then jump southwest again onto the next platform, then jump northwest onto the next platform, then finally, jump northeast onto the next platform and enter the door here. In this room, grab the HP Max Up here, then exit this room. Back in the dark room, head back to the start to where you came into this room from the hallway and once there, jump northwest FAR onto the platform, then jump southwest onto the next platform, then jump west onto the next platform against the wall now, then jump north onto the next platform, then jump east onto the VERY small platform to find another door. Enter it and in this room, you'll find the Unlock Jewel, an Item you'll be using in JUST a minute, but for now, totally exit the dark room and head back into the hallway now. Once back here, head south and enter the door to the northeast and in this room, take out the 3 Lizard Knights, then head through the door to the northeast. In this hallway, take out the 2 Chaos Swords and 3 Spartacuses, then exit this place through the door to the northeast and in this room, take out the 4 Death Reapers, then stop. At this time, I'm going to suggest that you go ahead and take on possibly THE hardest Boss in the game, stronger even than the final Boss. It's up to you, but if you're going for 100.0% of the Map and if you wish to Unlock Boss Rush Mode, you must do this. You're more than prepared at this point, since you now have ALL the HP, MP and Heart Max Ups, as well as the best Armor in the game and everything else. Though, if you really wish to be prepared, getting the Invincible Jar could help GREATLY. Anyway, if you wish to do this, use a Magical Ticket right now to head back to Rinaldo's Shop and at this time, head back ALL the way to The Walkthrough, B. Prelude To The Dark Abyss/Castle Entrance now. If not, continue reading and continue on here. Either way, come back here when I tell you to and if you aren't doing this, just keep reading. Welcome back or let's continue on. Now, at this time, make your way back on your Map to where you see the "1F" Symbol and once there, head through the door to the north and in this room, take out the 3 Lizard Knights and 1 Phantom, then exit this room through the door to the northwest. In this long hallway, take out the 3 Lizard Knights and 1 Gaap, then follow the path and exit this place through the door to the north and in this hallway, take out the 1 Gargoyle, then head south and enter the door to the northeast. In this room, take out the 3 Spartacuses, then exit this room through the door to the northeast and in this hallway, take out the 1 Gaap and 2 Death Reapers, then exit this place through the door to the northeast. In this room, deal with the 2 Dullahans, then exit through the door to the northeast and in this hallway, enter the door to the west and in this hallway, follow the path and enter the door to the north. In this room, grab the "VI" Tablet here and you'll notice to the north there's a thing on the wall to put it. If you try to, it will fail, since the order goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, not 1, 2, 3, 6, 5. So, you must find the "IV" Tablet to unlock the door to the northeast. Hmm...well, we'll find that now, so exit this room, backtrack through the hallway and back in the other hallway, head south, then enter the door to the northeast. In this room, take out the 2 Lesser Demons, then exit this place through the door to the northeast and in this room, take out the 2 Spartacuses and 2 Red Ogres, then exit this room through the door to the northeast. In this room, kill the 8 Hanged Mans, then exit this place through the door to the northeast. Now, back to where you started, look on your Map. Near the "1F" Symbol, to the west is a room that has a path leading to the south. It's the room with those Lamposts you hit before. Make your way back there now and once you're there, exit through the door to the east and in this hallway now, take out the 2 Red Ogres, then head north through the door and in this room, first, head west to find a door here and enter it to enter a Save Room. Save and heal up, then exit and head south to find another door, so enter it and in this room, you'll see a weird object on the table, with a lever nearby. Examine the object and put the "VI" Tablet into it, then hit the lever and you'll see a small cutscene. Afterwards, examine the object again and the "VI" Tablet is now the "IV" Tablet. Ok, so take it now and next, head back to the room where you found the "VI" Tablet and once there, examine the object here and place the "IV" Tablet on it and the seal on the door will break. Now, enter the door to the northeast and in this room, grab the Dragon Crest, the Item that's used to gain you access to the Throne Room, where Walter awaits. Now, head back to the room you were in before that had the Save Room and the room with the object on the table and the lever and once there, head to the Save Room, Save, heal up and get ready, as you're about to face Walter and end the game. If you are fully prepared and ready, from the Save Room, head northwest up the stairs and enter the door here to the north and outside now, head up the long staircase, just like in every Castlevania and you'll see a Boss Door. Again, if you're ready, enter it, but BE SURE you have as much healing Items as possible and you're prepared to the max. I can't stress this enough. Anyway, approach the Boss Door and use the Dragon Crest on it and you'll enter, as a cutscene takes place. Leon will see Walter, as Walter welcomes him again and Leon tells him he'll never forgive him. Walter tells him he sees he's enjoying what he gave him and Leon tells him thanks to him, he can now kill him. Walter sees this and tells him his power is stronger, as Leon throws it back in his face and Walter sees he means business, as you enter a Boss Battle. At this time, if you wish for a strategy, head for Section VII. Boss Guide for one, otherwise, fight him yourself and continue on. (Also, note on your Map, if you've been following my walkthrough to the point, you now have 100.0% of the Map. Congratulations on that!) After Walter falls, you'll see a cutscene, which I will NOT explain, as it greatly shows spoilers to the game, so play the game and kill Walter to see this yourself. Anyway, after some VERY surprising events, especially as to who Dracula REALLY is and everything that'll surely stun the Castlevania fanboys, you'll fight the final Boss of the game: Death. If you wish to get a strategy on him, head to Section VII. Boss Guide now, otherwise, fight him yourself and then sit back and enjoy the ending to the game. Note: After killing Death, head to The Walkthrough, J. Ending. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - I. Prison Of Eternal Torture . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ POET6.9 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Prelude To The Dark Abyss/Castle Entrance: Basement Floor 2 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items To Get: Black Orb. Once you reach the bottom of the stairs, get ready and enter the Boss Door if you are ABSOLUTELY sure that you're ready. After you enter, you'll see a small cutscene and you'll begin to fight Forgotten One, THE hardest Boss in the game. If you wish to get a strategy on him, head to Section VII. Boss Guide now, otherwise, fight him yourself, but I STRONGLY suggest you get a strategy on him. He is NOT a pushover or EASY in the LEAST. He is a NIGHTMARE. Be warned. After you win, the Black Orb will appear, so grab it and congratulations on beating the hardest Boss in the game. Now Walter doesn't even stand a chance against the likes of you! Also, now note that the Prison Of Eternal Torture/Prelude To The Dark Abyss/Castle Entrance is now fully completed on your Map. Good job! At this point, you SHOULD have 95.2% of the Map found. If not, again, backtrack and look for anything you missed, as the only area left that we haven't fully covered is the Pagoda To The Misty Moon. Now, if you don't care really and/or you're ready to continue, exit this place, head back to Rinaldo's Shop to restock on supplies, Save, heal up and then head back to Floor 2 of the Pagoda Of the Misty Moon and once there, head back to The Walkthrough, H. Pagoda Of The Misty Moon: Floor 2 and continue reading now. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - N. Ending . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ ENDI6.10 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- After Death bites the dust, you'll see the final cutscene to the game, which, again, I'm not spoiling it for you, though I like how everything comes together now and sets the stage for all the Castlevania games now. After this is over, the credits will role and just enjoy the ending, which has a really kick ass version of Vampire Killer, the famous track from most Castlevania games playing. I'm glad they stuck it in this game, as it's a personal favorite song. After the credits roll, you'll get some things that you can do in a New Game, such as playing as the Vampire Joachim Armster and unlocking Crazy Mode. For more on this, head to Section XIV. Secrets for more on what you can unlock. Joachim's Mission is just like Leon's, except he has no access to shopping with Rinaldo, since Rinaldo isn't even at his shop, he can't Equip anything, use Items, Relics, Orbs, nothing. If you see an Item around, such as a Potion, if you pick it up, it'll heal Joachim, so be careful and use them only when you need to. Also, Joachim starts off VERY WEAK, but he becomes stronger than Leon if you manage to find all the power ups for him, which all the Items behind doors and everything have been replaced with Attack and Defense Ups, plus HP and MP Max Ups, so be sure to find them all. He can open locked doors without the keys and sometimes, you'll find worthless Items, such as healing Items behind some doors, so use them if you need to. Other than that, yes, it IS possible to get 100.0% with Joachim AND even beat Forgotten One, but also, he can't use Sub-Weapons either, but he does use 5 Swords as his Weapons and he has 2 Magic attacks, so use them as best as you can. He can't Guard, but he gains MP for every thing he hits with his Swords that's either a Enemy or Candle Stand. Anyway, use The Walkthrough again if you play through as Joachim, since it's the same game, but Items WILL be different. You won't see my writing a walkthrough for Joachim, but just know that not a whole lot is different other than I what I just told you. That and Joachim does not fight the Doppelganger in the Dark Palace Of Waterfalls, but the main Boss there is Joachim, but it's called the Doppelganger. Other than that, have fun and once you beat Joachim's Mission, you can play as Pumpkin, which, literally, he plays like Leon and has access to everything Leon does, just he has a higher Attack and Defense, yet lower HP and MP. Same game with him, too and EVERYTHING for Pumpkin is JUST the same with Leon, walkthrough wise and Item location wise, except he uses a Pumpkin Bomb Sub-Weapon as his only Sub-Weapon, but it can be mixed with Orbs. Got it? Good. Oh and congratulations on beating Castlevania: Lament Of Innocence! Now enjoy the massive replay value this game has and thanks for reading my walkthrough! I greatly appreciate it. If I've missed anything by chance or whatever, feel free to E-Mail me and let me know at ssj4kain@aol.com. Thanks! Note: Once the credits are done rolling, Save your game, over your Save Data and if you go back into it and head to the Warp Room, Boss Rush Mode is now available, but ONLY if you killed EVERY Boss in the game. If not, you'll have to kill them before it'll appear. It appears right on the creature's skull in the middle of the Warp Room, so stand on it and have fun. If you want a strategy for Boss Rush Mode, such as the order of the Bosses that they appear in and whatnot, head to Section VII. Boss Guide and read on. Also, Rinaldo's Shop now sells the Music Box and Jade Mask Items, which if you buy the Music Box, you'll get the Sound Select Option on the Main Menu, plus if you beat Crazy Mode, the Mobius Brooch will also appear in Rinaldo's Shop, so be sure to do all this if you wish. Otherwise, that's it. My walkthrough's comeplete and again, I thank you. See you later! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = VII. Boss Guide . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ BOSGU7 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A. Undead Parasite . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ UNPA7.1 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1200. Tolerance - None. Weakness - Holy Water, Cross. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - Undead infested by parasites from working on constructing the filthy Great Shrine. Strategy - Alright, the Undead Parasite's actually rather easy, but if you're unprepared, it could mean your demise. If you have Holy Water here, you'll do pretty well, as even though the Cross is it's other weakness, it's still pretty weak. Anyway, the Undead Parasite has a few nasty attacks. The giant worm thing will poke it's head out of holes around the room and either fly around the room or breath fire at you. Other than that, Soulless Enemies pop up and try to attack you. They're VERY weak, so don't worry. Your first priority is to destroy the 4 Eyeballs around the room, so focus your attacks on them. Use Holy Water or the Cross if you wish, but I suggest just using the Whip, even if those are it's Weaknesses. Once they pop, that means that Eyeball is dead. After you take care of the 4 Eyeballs, you'll take on part 2 of the boss, which is this odd looking...growth or something. Anyway, there's a new type of Soulless here, so watch out. Other than that, you're playing Whack-a-Mole with the growth thing, as it goes around the room, popping up from different holes, so you'll have to chase it, beat the crap out of it, repeat. The giant worm will still do it's attacks it did the first time, but other than that, nothings new. Heal up when you need to, but just beat it to death and once it's HP Gauge is empty, it'll fall. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - B. Flame Elemental . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ FLAEL7.2 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1500. Tolerance - Fire Weakness - Ice. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A Knight surrounded by red hot flames. Strategy - Flame Elemental has a few nasty attacks. He has a combo where he'll slash at you with his Flame Sword for a few hits, which can REALLY hurt you if you don't dodge it and he has an attack where he summons a tornado of flame with a good size radius around him, so watch it. He also has an attack where he'll send a wave of flames at you, but other than that, if you can just dodge really well and heal up when you can, you'll do fine. He's REALLY weak to Ice, but you have no Ice attacks, so just Whip him to death and use Sub-Weapons when you can. Just keep your assault up and dodge when he comes at you and you'll come out victorious. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - C. Golem . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ GOL7.3 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1500 Tolerance - Lightning, Knife. Weakness - None. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A man-made monster made of stone. Strategy - The Golem, contrary to belief, is actually rather easy. Though, I hope you aren't using the Knife Sub-Weapon here, since he has a tolerance to it. Anyway, the Golem does have a few nasty attacks, though. He has a slight wind up punch that can do a good amount of damage over a large radius and he has a stomp move, which will Paralyze you if it hits. If this happens, rapidly rotate the Left Analog Stick. Then he has a slam attack, where he'll hit the ground with his fists and cause debre to fall from the ceiling. If you are using the Whip Of Flames, it'll really do some damage to him, but over all, he's not that hard of a Boss. Just dodge him when you can and dish attacks out. The Axe Sub-Weapon here does some REALLY good damage to him fast, so combine it with the Blue Orb and let it rip. After you destroy his HP Gauge, round 2 begins, as he breaks apart, but shows he has 1 HP Gauge left. At this point, Golem can only be hurt by hitting the Red Orb in his chest. His only new attack this time is a Rocket Punch, which he fires his fist out on a chain. It's VERY accurate, so watch out. When he does that, he's vulnerable to attacks, so Whip him as much as you can at this time. Don't bother using the Knife Sub-Weapon here, as you're better off with your Whip, even if it is one of his Weaknesses. Just keep up your assault, heal when you need to and he'll go down for the count. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - D. Frost Elemental . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ FROEL7.4 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1500. Tolerance - Ice, Holy Water, Crystal, Cross. Weakness - Fire. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A Knight that harnesses arctic chill. Strategy - First off, if you have the Whip Of Flames, USE IT. It'll GREATLY help you here. Now, to begin with, the Frost Elemental has some rather good attacks. Her attacks consist of a shockwave of ice which stretches out to hit a rather large area and can Paralyze you, an attack with a large Ice Sword, a purple magic attack with a Sword that you can block and absorb, a beam attack and a spinning attack with two Ice Swords. Anyway, to beat her, if you have the Whip Of Flames, it makes things easier, but she's actually rather easy to beat regardless. The Svarog Statue Relic works well, too, so use it if you wish. Either way, just assault her and heal when necessary and you'll win. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - E. Doppelganger . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ DOPPE7.5 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1000. Tolerance - None. Weakness - None. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A monster that looks like Leon. The weapons are not perfect copies. Strategy - For a clone of Leon, he proves he's not pushover, so don't take him lightly. His moves are basically the moves that Leon has and he uses some of the Sub-Weapon/Orb combinations, mainly the Axe and Holy Water ones, so be careful. Your best strategy is to just Whip him long and hard and keep at it, healing when you can and dodge when possible. The good thing is, like Leon, he's VERY easy to push back, so attack him once and he's stunned, so follow up with your attacks. Anyway, just keep your assault up and once you get him down to an inch of his life, he'll retreat into the water and you'll win and have to fight him another day. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - F. Joachim . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ JOAC7.6 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1500. Tolerance - Knife, Axe, Crystal. Weakness - Ice, Holy Water, Cross. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - He was turned into a Vampire by Walter and imprisoned because he rebelled. Strategy - Joachim's attacks mainly consist of using his 5 Swords and they are all nasty. His attacks include an attack where he launches all 5 Swords at you at once and they can home in on you, too AND they can teleport. Another attack is he has golden Swords rise up from the ground like spikes, which can hurt, plus he has an attack where he'll spin around with his Swords out and try to hit you, but not only that, he can send a couple of them out like Boomerangs to hit you as well. Anyway, you'll notice you can't hurt him. To hurt him, you'll have to destroy 3 Blue Orbs on each side of the room before his defense is destroyed, but just watch out for flames that rise up near them, as he has extra defense there. Once you do this, bash him as much as you can, yet once the Blue Orbs recover, destroy them again and repeat. You can also hurt him by sending his Swords back at him when he throws them out like Boomerangs, but it does petty damage and it's not worth it. Anyway, to make things go faster, use the Whip Of Ice here, IF you have it, as he's weak to Ice. Holy Water also helps here, so try combining it with the Orbs to really add on the damage. Anyway, just keep your assault up and heal when you need to and you'll win this. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - G. Thunder Elemental . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ THUEL7.7 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1500. Tolerance - Lightning. Weakness - Knife, Axe. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A Knight surrounded by lightning who unleashes flashes of light. Strategy - Alright, yet another optional Boss for you to fight and he's also not a pushover. Thunder Elemental's Attacks consist of him throwing a series of Lightning Bolts at you that are quite accurate, him attacking you with his Lightning Spear a few times, an attack where he causes a surge of lightning all around him and a good radius around him as well, another attack with Lightning Bolts, but with MUCH more of them and he also attacks with a few regular moves. The best way to beat him is to just Whip him to death and if you have it, the Knife or Axe Sub-Weapons mixed with the Orbs, as they're his Weakness. Other than that, just heal when you need to and you'll come out a winner. Not too difficult, really. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - H. Medusa . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ MEDUS7.8 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 2000. Tolerance - None. Weakness - Axe. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A legendary monster whose gaze can turn people to stone. Strategy - Medusa, as usual like in the past Castlevania games, is quite the opponent. This time, she sports attacks such as one where she'll fire Stone Eyes from her eyes at you and if they hit, you'll be Petrified, so break out of it immediately, as well as her attacks with her Snake hair that she can do a single or double hit with those. She also has an attack where she'll roll into a ball and roll around the room, not to mention her Bloody Tears, which if you touch them, you'll take damage. Once she says "Damn you!", she'll start throwing out Snake Heads, which can REALLY hurt you, that and she'll float in the air and drop dozens of Snakes onto the floor to attack you, so be careful. Now, basically, to beat her, even though she's weak to the Axe, all the Orb combinations don't do a whole lot, really to her and you're best to just use your Whip, even though it'll take a while. She has GOOD Defense, so this'll take some time. Just bash her and heal when necessary and dodge her Stone Eyes when possible and you'll be victorious. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - I. Succubus . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ SUCCU7.9 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1000. Tolerance - None. Weakness - Fire, Knife. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A monster that sucks up a person's essence by taking advantage of their feelings. Strategy - For starter, the Succubus has some deadly attacks up her sleeves, well, if she had any. But anyway, her attacks consist of Roses that grow all around the area and if you touch them, you become Poisoned, an attack where she fires green lasers at you, either 1 shot or a triple shot and a charged attack of this, which is pink when she fires it, but you can Guard it to get MP, as well as an attack where she clones herself and makes two copies, both fake and you have to find the real her, as well as an attack where if you get too close to her, she'll do a Tornado Rose attack, where she spins around to hurt you, not to mention she has an attack where she'll attach herself to you and drain your HP, but she may use a lightning bolt attack before this to Paralyze you so she has a chance to do this and finally, she has an attack that she uses when she gets weak that's like a Torn Snake that attacks you, goes into the ground, comes up to hit you, etc and it's a BITCH to avoid. Now, the way to beat her is to Equip the Whip Of Flames if you have it, as she's weak to Fire and to just attack her as much as possible. She's not really too hard, but she can be if you let her hit you enough. So, attack her, heal when you need to and dodge everything she throws at you when you can and you'll be fine. Use the Knife Sub-Weapon here if you have it to add on some damage, but I suggest sticking with the Whip. Just keep it up and eventually, the Succubus will fall and you'll win. Note: I learned the Spinning Blast Kill after killing her both times, so perhaps you do learn this from her...oh well, if not, don't worry about it, as you may have gotten it before me or you may have not learned it yet, but fear not, you'll get it eventually. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - J. Doppelganger . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ DOPPEL7.10 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1500. Tolerance - None. Weakness - None. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A Doppelganger that is only a copy of Leon's Appearence and fights with its fists. Strategy - This time, the Doppelganger is back for round 2 and he's more powerful than before. This time, he's ditched using the Whip and instead fights with his hands. His attacks consist of an attack where he has flames engulf his fists and he'll do some punches/uppercuts with them and he can do this with his feet as well. He also still uses the Holy Water Sub-Weapon mixed with the Orb and he also has a charging attack, but I'm not sure if it's one of the Axes's Moves or not. Either way, your best strategy here is to test out your new Vampire Killer and see exactly how powerful it is. It DEFINITELY packs a punch now, so the best thing to do here is to just slam him with it and watch how fast his HP Gauge drains. Though, don't take the Doppelganger lightly, as his moves are deadly, but heal when you need to. Anyway, keep your assault up and you'll do fine and the Doppelganger will eventually fall for the final time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - K. Forgotten One . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ FORON7.11 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 4800. Tolerance - Fire, Lightning, Cross. Weakness - Ice. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A man-made monster, eternally sealed away due to an enormous uncontrollable power. Strategy - Ok, Forgotten One has 3 layers to himself, meaning he has 3, yes 3 HP Gauges, thus he has the life of 3 Bosses put together. Also, note that this is THE bloodiest battle in the game and quite possibly the bloodiest Boss I have ever seen in my history of gaming. No wonder why this game was given an M rating, but hell, it's DAMN cool. Anyway, his first section is you ripping away at his Organs and his Heart. All he'll do to attack is is drop Maggots down, which can Curse AND Poison you if they hit, so destroy them and he can bleed on you. (Yes, the famous line from Monty Python And The Holy Grail comes true, this WILL hurt you.) Now, all you have to do is Whip his Organs and his Heart away and once his HP Gauge is destroyed, round 2 will begin, but use the Whip Of Ice here, as it'll do more damage than the Vampire Killer, since he has a Weakness to Ice. This round is MUCH harder, as the first round was only a prelude to what you REALLY had to fight. This time, Forgotten One will attack you personally, but only with his left arm, as his right arm seems to be totally gone. Anyway, all he can do is a sweeping motion with his arm to knock you either to the end of the platform or to the other end of the platform, into a spike wall. That and he can squeeze his hand to drop tons of blood to hurt and Poison you with and he can take his fist and try and smash you with it. That's all he does, really. Anyway, to counter this, I suggest you save your MP for the final part, but if you're having trouble here and are running out of healing Items, use the Invinicble Jar Relic to give yourself an extra boost. His weak point here is his arm, which is a pain to hit, but his chest is also hitable, though it's far away and you'll deal more damage to his arm, anyway. Now, when he takes his arm and holds it to his chest and it starts shaking, wait a second, then double jump in the air and you SHOULD jump over his arm as he sweeps the area. If not, get ready to meet a world of pain. That and when he has his hand at the far end of the platform set down, get ready to jump, as he's going to do a sweeping motion as well. Anyway, keep up your assault, heal when you can, if you ABSOLUTELY need to, Equip the Jewel Crush Accessory and use a Diamon to fully heal Leon's HP and MP, but once you kill this part of him, round 3 will begin and this is the last part of him. Now, this time, get ready to be killed in 2 hits. Literally. If he manages to hit you with his breath, it's all over. The only way to avoid this is when he has the ceiling drop down rocks that'll appear on the platform. Since you're facing his head and literally 5 feet from him, hide behind the rocks when he does the Breath attack and you'll be fine. Though, once you see the rock you're behind have some HUGE cracks in it, move to another rock FAST. Once he does his Breath attack and it passes you, go out and just Whip him like crazy. The way to know when he does his Breath attack is if you see white gusts of wind around his head, as that is the cue to get behind a rock, FAST. If he screams and has nothing, he's just summong rocks for you to go behind, so keep up your assault. Just keep doing this and use the Invincible Jar or Black Bishop Relic here to go all out on him and once his HP Gauge reaches 0, it's Game Over for him, same goes for you if you lose. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - L. Walter . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ WALTE7.12 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 1500. Tolerance - Knife, Axe. Weakness - Holy Water, Cross. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - The Vampire beloved by the eternal night. Master of the castle. Strategy - The first part of this Boss Battle is a breeze. Just Whip Walter once and you'll see a cutscene as Walter's Protection is destroyed. He's quite amazed and Leon tells him he has no protection left and he will avenge Sara now, but Walter tells him it's not over yet and the Boss Battle continues. Walter, just like Dracula, uses similar attacks, such as teleporting around and using his famous Balls Of Destruction. Walter's Attacks consist of him teleporting around constantly and either releasing 1 or 3 Balls Of Destrctuon. Not only that, but he also releases shockwaves of power that are insanely hard to dodge, so be careful. That and when he says "Behold my strength!", get the HELL away from him as far as possible, as he turns into a Monster and releases a GIANT shockwave of power. Now, he also has a charging slash that he does with his arm if you get close, so watch out for that as well and finally, he has an attack where he'll send an energy blast of waves together at you. Anyway, the best thing you can do is Whip him to death and to use the Holy Water and Cross Sub-Weapons on him. If you got the Black Orb from fighting Forgotten One, Six Saints REALLY helps here, the Cross mix with the Black Orb. But anyway, you'll deal max damage with your Vampire Killer, so focus on hitting him with that and save your energy, as he is NOT the final Boss and you'll be surprised as who it really is. Just keep your assault up and after a little while, Walter will fall for good. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - M. Death . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ DEAT7.13 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit Points - 4444. Tolerance - None. Weakness - None. Drop Items --------- --------- Description - A being that hunts souls. Loyal to the master of the Crimson Stone. Strategy - Well, this is it. The final Boss of the game turns out to be none other than Death and I must say, I am surprised. Anyway, Death is not easy and proves this. His attacks consist of an attack where he send out Skulls that follow Leon around and explode, him sending out his Scythe like an Axe, an attack where he sends a combined energy blast of waves that home in on Leon, that and he can also attack you regularly with his Scythe and then finally, an attack called Deadly Tempest, which he fires giant waves of flames from above at Leon, which when they hit the ground, they explode into a large shockwave. Anyway, this Boss Battle is insane. Sub-Weapons don't hurt him, so those are worthless and with 4444 HP, Death isn't going to fall that easily. He moves around the outer circle of the room, thus hitting him is a bitch, since if you're knocked away, it takes time to get back to him, which by then, you'll probably be hit away again. If you have it, the Invincible Jar will REALLY help here, otherwise, have the Saisei Incense on or the Black/White Bishop being used and heal when necessary. So, just keep your assault up and PRAY you come out of this alive. Just dodge his Deadly Tempest AT ALL COSTS. It can REALLY hurt you and with limited healing Items, it'll leave you crying. Anyway, do the best you can, pull out everything, as this is the end, so don't hold back on saving anything and once his HP Gauge hits 0, Death meets his demise. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - N. Boss Rush Mode . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ BORUM7.14 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you attempt Boss Rush Mode, I suggest you make sure you have a TON of healing Items and are fully prepared, as you're about to face EVERY Boss in the game. You get nothing for completing this, other than a time of how long it took you to beat it, but that's it. So if you want to do this for a challenge, do so, otherwise, you don't have to. Either way, if you're ready, go ahead and enter it. After each Boss Battle, you'll get some Big Hearts and some Potions, so at least you can keep your supplies up. Anyway, here's the order of how the Bosses will appear in Boss Rush Mode: Flame Elemental Frost Elemental Thunder Elemental Doppelganger (Dark Palace Of Waterfalls.) Doppelganger (Pagoda Of The Misty Moon.) Undead Parasite Golem Succubus Medusa Joachim Forgotten One Walter Death Anyway, once you beat Death, you'll complete Boss Rush Mode. Good job, as this is NOT easy by any means, so pat yourself on the back. If you need strategies for each Boss, scroll up and find it. Note: After defeating Walter, you will fight Death immediately and have NO time for recovery and you won't get any Big Hearts and Potions, so be prepared. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = VIII. Analyzing The Enemy . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ ANTEN8 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Alright, here's a rundown on the various Enemies in the game, their stats and Items they drop. Just note, when playing through the game, to get each Enemy's Stats listed in your Encyclopedia, you MUST encounter them and then DEFEAT them, otherwise, you'll just get a picture of them and no information. [ SKILI10 ] = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= New to the Castlevania series is the special attacks called Skills. Unique to Leon and Pumpkin only, as you advance through the game and meet certain requirements, Leon will learn new devastating combos with the Whip that'll help him in many situations. (Pumpkin begins his game with all Skills already learned.) Though, to learn each Skill takes some time and to unlock most of the Skills, you either need to meet certain requirements, such as defeating a certain enemy or use a Skill enough times. Sub-Weapons . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ SUBWE11.4 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Axe. Where's It Found?: Everywhere. Description: Unlike in the past Castlevania games, the Axe this time isn't a hard to use Sub-Weapon and instead this time acts more like a Boomerang and is thrown out like one as well, but it doesn't come back, unfortunately, but Leon does throw two of them. A great Sub-Weapon to always carry around with you and is good in every situation. (An Axe made of silver.) Hearts Used Per Attack: 4. Name: Cross. Where's It Found?: Everywhere. Description: Like the Axe, the Cross has been changed and instead of a Boomerang this time, it circles and protects Leon from attacks. If enemies happen to get close to you, they'll be hit by the circling Crosses and be knocked back. Good for protection, but over all rather weak, which is odd, since the Cross has been known to be the best Sub-Weapon in every Castlevania game. (A Cross imbued with a pious prayer.) Hearts Used Per Attack: 4. Name: Crystal. Where's It Found?: Everywhere. Description: A new Sub-Weapon to the Castlevania series, the Crystal is used as a land mine or bomb if you will. Description: Nothing new about this Sub-Weapon, as when it's used, as quick flash of blue flames will rise up in front of Leon, offering a great attack to enemies that get too close. Good in sticky situations, but worthless in long range fighting. (Water purified at a Church. Bursts into flames near evil power.) Hearts Used Per Attack: 4. Name: Knife. Where's It Found?: You start the game with it and it's also found everywhere. Description: Well, probably known as the weakest and most worthless Sub-Weapon in any Castlevania game, the Knife is yet again a long range weapon, even though it's very weak, it can be thrown out fast. Not really recommended for heavy combat, but from experience, don't rely on it that much. (A Knife made of silver.) Hearts Used Per Attack: 1. Name: Pumpkin Bomb. Where's It Found?: You always have it when playing as Pumpkin. Description: Pumpkin throws out a Pumpkin Bomb and it comically bounces around a bit until it explodes in a small radius. Rinaldo's Shop . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ RINASH14 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Like in the past Castlevania games, as the series turned to a more RPG approach, you were allowed to shop at a merchant's store to buy yourself Potions, Weapons, etc. Well, Lament of Innocence is no exception. Throughout the game, Rinaldo has his shop setup, which you can return to it at any time you wish, even faster if you use a Magical Ticket. The farther you go through the game, the better hies wares become, so be sure to stop in frequently to see what Rinaldo is selling now. It's also a good idea to stop in here and there, as if you get stuck, Rinaldo will give you some advice. Also, at any point in the game you have something you want to sell him, you can, as he'll take anything of yours, except vital Equipment, but unlike Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night, you aren't limited to just selling Jewels, so keep this in mind if you're just a few bucks away from buying that new piece of Armor. To talk to Rinaldo, press the Triangle or Square Button and the following will appear: Buy - Lets you cycle through his current wares. Select the one you wish to buy, then select how much you wish to buy, confirm your selection and continue on. Sell - Lets you cycle through your Items and sell anything you don't want to Rinaldo. Select an Item, then select the quanity, confirm it and then continue on. Exit - Leave Rinaldo's Shop. All the Items in the window will show you the name and then next to them, a number. This number shows you how many you currently have in your possession. If you happen to have 9 of an Item, it'll be greyed out in Rinaldo's Window, as you have the limit to what you can buy. (5 if you are playing Crazy Mode.) And finally, to the far right is the price for each Item. Note: The Mobius Brooch will appear here once you complete the game on Crazy Mode. It will sell for $200,000, so be prepared. Item Name |Price --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Potion |200 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- High Potion |800 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Serum |100 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Uncurse Potion |100 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Magical Ticket |200 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Memorial Ticket |800 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Diamond |10,000 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ruby |3,000 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire |2,000 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Opal |1,000 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turquoise |800 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zircon |400 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music Box |3,150 (Appears after you complete the game.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Earth Plate |1,000 (Appears after you've uncovered 15.0% of the Map.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meteor Plate |2,000 (Appears after you've uncovered 35.0% of the Map.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moonlight Plate |4,000 (Appears after you've uncovered 60.0% of the Map.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solar Plate |15,000 (Appears after you've uncovered 80.0% of the Map.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sacrificial Doll|2,000 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jade Mask |999 (Appears after you complete the game.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- White Bishop |3,000 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = XV. Secrets . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ SECRE15 ] = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Boss Rush Mode - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unlock Boss Rush Mode with any character, simply beat every Boss in the game, including Forgotten One. Afterwards, just head to the room where you choose to go to each of the five areas of the castle and in the center will be a new tile to stand on, which is Boss Rush Mode. Just be VERY prepared before you enter it, as you will be fighting EVERY Boss in the game, but you'll get Potions and Hearts after each one. Other than this, there is no reward for beating Boss Rush Mode, other than seeing how long it took you to beat it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Crazy Mode - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unlock Crazy Mode, beat the game with Leon and after the credits, you'll be given a password to play the game through on Crazy Mode. Crazy Mode is just like a more difficult game, where this time, where this time you can carry even less amounts of Items and Enemies are slightly harder. If you manage to beat this Mode, you'll unlock the Mobius Brooch at Rinaldo's Shop. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Item Duplication Trick - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apparently, there's a way to duplicate your Items and even make a good sum of money very fast. To do this, enter the castle and head to the west through the door that leads to the Save Room and the room to the other 5 parts of the castle. In the hallway here, near the Save Room, look on the carpet for a green moon that's shining through the window. Go and stand on it and face out the window, then open up your Menu and go to your Items. Scroll down the list and you'll notice that your Items are going up in number now each time you go over them. Sweet, huh? This can be used on Diamonds, which can net you a VERY huge profit to get you money fast and easy. Update: There's a new place where you can clone Items at. In the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon, right as you reach Floor 2, on the carpet there's a circle design here. Stand near it and head into your Item List and go nuts. Update Again: There's yet another place now where you can clone Items. Yet again, it's in the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon and it's right outside the room where you get the "VI" Tablet from. Standing in the light again just like back in the Prelude To The Dark Abyss/Castle Entrance and head to your Item List and have fun. Update AGAIN: Yet ANOTHER spot has been found. In the long hallway before the room where the machine that changes the "VI" Tablet to the "IV" Tablet and where the Save Room is, right before the path to Walter, standing on the circular design here, head into your Menu and you can clone your Items. Jesus, how many of these things are there? Note: Not only can you clone your regular Items, but you CAN clone your other things, such as Whips, Armor, etc, even though most of it proves useless, but hey, something to know. Also, apparently, since the game design of levels in this game is repeated alot, ANY area of the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon that has the design to it that is the same as the areas where you can clone Items will also allow you to clone Items there. I'm not sure how many areas remain, but I'll do some research. If you have found a place I haven't mentioned, feel free to let me know and I'll give you credit. Not sure if there's any other places besides the one at the start of the game as well, since there MAY be other places to do this in other parts of the castle. Oh well, we'll see. ANOTHER Update: On the 1st floor of the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon, in the corridor where there are two Chaos Swords and two Death Reapers. (Which is between the room with lasers/platforms and the big room with the only Mirage Skeleton.) It's about a little above half way on the left side of the carpet's edge. Between the 3rd from the bottom from the left up pillar in the left wall and the left middle/2nd torch pedestal. (The Moon shines around the area, but it's not directly in its light as far as I can tell.) Then, there's yet another one: In the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon, on the 2nd Floor, the right side, there's a long corridor with the 3 Lizard Knights and 1 Gaap. If you come from the north/top of the Map, it's the second circle emblem on the green carpet, to the left of it. Thanks to Ket for this! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Start The Game With All Skills - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- To start a game with all of Leon's Skills already learned, first complete the game, then enter @Llskill and Leon will start with all his Skills. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Unlock Playable Character Joachim Armster - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- To play as the Vampire, Joachim Armster, that Leon met in his game, complete the game with Leon and after the credits, you'll be given a password to play as Joachim, which is @Joachim. Unlike Leon, he can not use equipment of any sort, including Items and he can't use Sub-Weapons. He uses 5 Swords to attack with and can attack two different ways with them. He has 2 magic attacks, but it depends on which way you're using the Swords at the time. He starts off very weak, but most of the Items in the game are stat increasing ones to him, so by the end, he will be eventually more powerful than Leon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Unlock Playable Character Pumpkin - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- To play as the...er...unique character, Pumpkin, complete the game with Joachim and after the credits, you'll be given the password to play as Pumpkin, which is @Pumpkin. He plays out just like Leon, only he has more Attack and Defense, but less HP and MP, though he starts with all of Leon's Skills and has only one Sub-Weapon, the Pumpkin Bomb and it CAN be mixed with Orbs, which is good. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = XVI. [ CREDI16 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Well, here's where I give credit to the ones that helped make this walkthrough possible. Here's the following people I'd like to thank: Konami - For making the game of course and yet another kick ass Castlevania. I can't wait for the next game, so in the meantime, keep up the great work! Myself - For doing this walkthrough of course. It was hard work and took alot of time, but it was well worth it. I hope you enjoy the walkthrough! Stephen Ng - For giving me this game of course to do for IGN, a great site, which you're reading this on right now. Thanks! geode - For pointing out a mistake in my walkthrough in the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon. I've fixed it, as it just was you didn't have to hit the Lamposts when going through the door to the east once you got the "VI" Tablet. A simple mistake, but thanks for pointing it out. getsmart - For mentioning that in Crazy Mode you do infact have Armor and Defense. Ket - For pointing out another location in the Pagoda Of The Misty Moon where you can duplicate your Items. Thanks! Daniel Jones - For pointing out my mistake on calling Michiru Yamane a man when she's infact a woman. A simple typo mistake on my part, but thank you for pointing this out to me! Warren Shaw - For telling me about the Shortcake Item in the Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab on Floor 3. Thanks alot! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = XVII.
