"Um... well, Ok..." That's how it started. I went to a local store and I was forced to buy Xenogears, so to speak. I really didn't care about it. Played it for a bit, forgot about it quick. Two years later, I decide that I'm going to complete the game. Or at least get a little far. I started playing. After a slow start, I found myself playing a wonderful game, an excellent RPG. It wasn't a game, it was an _experience_ An experience you've got to live. However, as it proceeded further, it got annoying and boring sometimes. However, the game, the game, oh the game... it caught me, and no amount of boredom could prevent me of playing. So, in the end, I finished it quite quickly. And it was worth it. I finished it, yes, finally, after two years. One of the best RPGs ever produced. And on my way, I wrote this FAQ. ---GheddonLN. ############################################################################### 5.BASICS ############################################################################### CONTROLS -------- D-PAD = Move character LEFT STICK = No use RIGHT STICK = No use START = Pause game SELECT = Show map(certain areas only) R1 = Rotate camera L1 = Rotate camera R2 = No use L2 = No use SQUARE(S) = Enter Menu TRIANGLE(T) = Jump CIRCLE(O/C) = Cancel X(X) = Accept OTHER CONTROLS -------------- S = Get into airship/sand cruiser/ship while flying/desert-walking/surfing the sea. Like many RPGs, it focuses heavily on battling and story, and traveling. In this game, you'll have to travel from various exotic locations to other places. To do so, you'll use different ways: sand cruisers, airships, etc. Battling in this game is a little different from other games. Instead of just mashing thr X button(although that works too =P) to attack, you have to input a series of button commands using the T, X and S buttons in order to attack. Depending on your Level, you may be able to perform longer combos. Also, if you input a certain sequence, you may do a deathblow. Also, in Xenogears, you can use "gears", which are fighting-robots. They handle like your characters. More information can be found further into this section. INNS ---- These Inns are nothing but hotels. In here, you can pay the innkeeper a certain amount of money so you can stay at the hotel. Doing so will fully heal yout characters(but not your gears). BATTLE OVERVIEW --------------- Like I said, to battle, you need to use three buttons: S, T, X, and AP. Each time you press one of those buttons, you'll perform an attack. If you have big AP, you can perform huge combos using different kinds of button combinations. Also, if you pull out a certain seqeuence, you may perform a deathblow! More on that later. AP -- AP is what'll you use to perform attacks during battle. Each attack is worth different amounts of AP: An T attack(weak) is worth 1, a S attack(medium) is worth 2, and an X attack(fierece) is worth 3. The more AP you have, the longer the combos you can pull out. ATB --- ATB is the little bar next to each character's photo that appears during battle. It fills up as time passes. Once it is full, the character can take action. ATBs can be speeded-up by using certain abilities and items, although it can also be slowed down by using certain abilities, spells, and weapons. Also, characters have a MAX AP limit that's used for combos. The MAX AP for normal attacks is 7, while for combos is 28. To build combo AP, save attack AP by cancelling your attacks at time(i.e, if you've used 3 AP dto attack, cancel, and you'll save 4 AP). DEATHBLOWS ---------- Deathblows are special skills which you can do by pressing a certain button combination. For instance, Fei's Yamikei deathblow is done by pressing X, T, X(requires 7AP). Deathblows are only learned once you have the required level and AP. To learn deathblows, you must develop compatibiliy with them To do so, battle around. When you're going to attack with the character you want to learn a deathblow with, press the DB's button sequence until you learn it. If you want to learn the deathblow quite fast, use these buttons sequences: T, T, T, T, T, T, T(7AP), S, T, T, T, T, T(7AP), X, T, T, T, T(7AP), T, S, S, T(7AP), or similar until you learn it. To check how good are you doing with your DB learning, check the status screen. Sometimes your compatibility will reach a certain amount and won't develop more; in that case, just keep battling until you learn the deathblow. STATUS EFFECTS -------------- There are many status effects, some of them bad, some of them good. They're divided into two categores: PHY or Physical and MNT or mental. Physical status alter your parameters such as strength, defense and ether defense, while MNT status affect directly your characters(i.e. Confusion, Poison). Status effects can be cured by using certain items and spells. Not all status effects are bad, however; beneficial status effects, most of the time, are got by using a certain spell or item. For the breakdown: Stop = Character cannot attack DOWN = Certain paramater went down Blind = Character has low Accuracy Slow = Character's ATB moves slowly Poison = Character loses HP after each turn Confusion = Character attacks enemies and allies alike UP = Certain paramaters go up Forget = Character can't use ability Sleep = Character falls asleep Armor DMG(Gear) = Gear receives more damage. Stop = Gear cannot attack Slow = Gear ATB's move slowly Power Loss = Gear does less damage Fuel Leak = Gear starts losing fuel Camera DMG = Gear loses Accuracy and Evasion EthMachine out of control = Gear starts losing EP EthMachine shutdown = Gear cannot use Ether attacks. Pilot Confuse = Cannot control gear. BATTLE COMANDS -------------- ATTACK - Regular command; lets you input your button sequences to attack. COMBO - Once you have enough Combo AP stored, you can use this command to perform varios of your DBs at ONCE. Really useful. - This varies from character to character; lets you use his/her unique skills(ether, chi, arcane etc). ITEM - Character is able to pick an item and use it. ESCAPE - Character _tries_ to run away from battle. This fails sometimes. DEFENSE - Character defends and receives less DMG for one turn- CALL GEAR - Character calls upon his/her gear(only if gear-less). PARAMETERS ---------- Characters: Attack - Determines how much damage the character can do. Accuracy - Determines how often you successfully hit an enemy Evade - Determines how often you evade an enemy's attack Defense - Determines how much DMG you take from physical attacks. EthDef - Determines how much DMG you take from ether attacks. Ether - Determines how much DMG you do with ether attacks. Agility - Determines how fast your ATB fills-up. Gears: Output - Determines how much DMG you do to an enemy. Ar - Determines how much DMG you take from physical attacks. Ether Ar - Determines how much DMG you take from ether attacks. Ether Machine - Determines how much DMG you do with Ether Attacks. Response - Read "Accuracy" and "Evade"(yes, determines both parameters). Frame - Gear's Hit Points. Fuel - Gear's fuel. You use up fuel when attacking. GEARS ----- Gears are ancient machines recently discovered. They're humanoid-like, and are using for war and other purposes. You'll be using them throughout your journey. When using gears, it's practically the same as if you were using a normal character. The main differences are that in order to attack, you need to use up Fuel, and that you cannot perform long combos unless you've got the necessary attack levels. Read on to learn more. BATTLE COMMANDS(GEARS) ---------------------- ATTACK - Perform an attack, or two attacks if you have an attack level of one or higher. CHARGE - Gear restores fuels. Amount varies of equipment. ETHER MACHINE - Gear can use its special attacks(ether, arcane) SPECIAL OPTIONS - Gear can use some unique options, or heal itself(if it has the correct equipment). BOOSTER - Gear speeds-up, consuming fuel after each turn to keep it up. ESCAPE - Gear party tries to escape. ITEMS - Gear can use items. ATTACK LEVELS(GEARS) -------------------- Gears start off the battle with an attack level of 0. This means they can only perform one attack: a 10 fuel attack, a 20 fuel attack or a 30 fuel attack. However, as the gear owner gains more deathblows, the gear itself will learn its deathblows, thus gaining more attack levels. Higher attack levels mean you can input two different commands instead of one. To build attack levels, attack with normal attacks, not deathblows. Once you've used a deathblow, you'll lose all attack levels you had and you'll have to build 'em up again. FUEL ---- In order to attack, gears need touse fuel. Each gear has a certain amount of Fuel, and each time it performs an attack, it uses up some. There are four kind of attacks: 10 fuel attacks, 20 fuel atks, 30 fuel atks and deathblows, which use different amounts of fuel. To restore fuel during battle, use the "charge" command. BOOSTER ------- The Booster is a command each gear has. Once you select it, the gear's speed will be increased. It'll consume some fuel to activate the booster, and after the gear uses a command(doesn't matter which) it'll consume some more fuel. Basically, after each turn, a gear who has booster on will consume fuel. Boosters are invaluable during most boss fights, and they're worth the fuel loss. UPGRADING --------- Gear's "inside" can be upgraded. I'm not talking about stuff like weapons and equipment; I'm talking about their engines, frames, and armor. These can be bought at Gear Shops. Gear shops sell weapons and normal equipment, but they'll also tune up your gears. When you tune up, you can fully restore your gears HP and Fuel by paying a certain price to the shop owner. But most importantly, you can upgrade your gears. There are three kinds of upgrade-able parts: Armor, Engine and Frame. Armor is for defense and ether defense, the frame is for HP, and the engine for output(attack power) and fuel. Upgrading normally costs a lot of money, so be sure you start saving money =P SPECIAL OPTIONS --------------- Certain gears have their unique, special options that only they can use. These special options function varies, so check further into the guide for more information! HYPER MODE ---------- Hyper Mode is the gear's special kick-ass mode. You see, while you fight with gears, you should see a bunch of gibberish to the right. It ain't gibberish, actually. It shows some interesting stats: one of them is "Hyper". It shows a percentage next to Hyper. This percentage represents your chances of getting into Hyper Mode. The Higher the percentage, the higher your chances. Keep in mind that hyper mode can only be achivied once you're in attack level 3. Once you achieve Hyper Mode, you can use three secret deathblows that take little fuel and do a lot of damage. Also, you cannot reach Hyper Mode unless you have at least one Hyper Deathblow. GEAR HEALING ------------ To heal with gears, you must equip the gear with a FRAMEHPxx. The xx represents a number which can be 10, 30, 50, 70 or 90. These numbers represent how much of your health you can recover. For example, a FRAMEHP10 will recover 10% of your health and so on. This option can be accessed via the "special options" in and out gear battles. It consumes fuel. ############################################################################### 6.WALKTHROUGH ############################################################################### _.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-._ ------------------ DISK # 1 -------------------- _.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-._ A puzzling cutscene takes places, and afterwards, the game explains you what's going on in the world. Afterwards you see another puzzling cutscene(you'll know soon enough...). And after all of this, you take control of Fei, the game's main character. ----- LAHAN ----- You start off here. You're in Fei's house. Now, when you take control of him, you should check his bed in order to get his secret savings, 200G. Afterwards, head out of his room. In the small alcove across his room is a woman who'll tell Fei his past if you talk with her twice. Anyway, your main objective is to go up the stairs to the far right. In the next room, head forwards and talk with Timothy, who's wearing a blue shirt. He'll tell you that they're making preparations for his and Alice's wedding. Fei talks with him. Afterwards, try to leave. You meet up with Dan, who wants to talk you badly. Dan goes back outside, and tells you to meet him. Go outside, too. Head forwards, and you'll see Dan, for sure. Talk to him. He'll tell you that he wants you to kidnap Alice and run away with her. If you want, you can tell him it's foolish, but I think that in order to advance with the game you need to tell him that you'll kidnap Alice. If you do, he'll realize that's crazy, and tell you that he won't do it. Ok... next to Dan is Alice's house. The door is being blocked by a woman. If you talk with the woman, she'll tell you that you can go in. So, enter Alice's house. Inside, go up up the stairs. You'll meet up with Alice. Fei and her will talk. It seems Alice doesn't want to marry, eh? Anyway, after some chatting, you'll have to visit Citan Uzuki, the local nerd, to get some equipment. So, head back outside and head to the far right, into the world map. --------- WORLD MAP --------- Gain a few levels if you want to... get to Level 3, that's what I did. Afterwards, go behind Lahan, into the Mountain Path. ------------- MOUNTAIN PATH ------------- You can also gain a few levels here, but it's not necessary. So, head forwards until you come to a branch. Head to the left and keep going until Fei looks up. Afterwards, go up the ledge. Talk with the little guy here. He can explain you what a super jump is. Basically, is jumping while running. There is a gap next to the little guy that needs the use of the super jump in order to be crossed. So, run forwards the gap and jump! Head to the right then, and cross the bridge. Pick up the Aquasol, and go up the ledge. Then, follow the path until you find Citan's house. ------------- CITAN'S HOUSE ------------- You're basically on the house. Enter the house and talk with Yui, Citan's wife. She'll tell you Citan is working on some junk. Head back outside and head to the east, where you'll see a small warehouse. Approach it and you'll hear an explosion. Citan will tell you it was nothing. He's just working on some stuff. He tells you you should check something that's inside the warehouse. So, get into the warehouse. Inside, there is a gold statue. Examine it and it'll open up. Music will start to play and an angel statue will appear. Citan comes and tells you some information about it. Afterwards, he tells Fei that he should go back to the house, because Yui is going to cook something. Fei leaves and Citan keeps looking at the statue, but suddenly... it explodes! Indeed, the statue blows up. Something's wrong here; could this be an omen? Fei will enjoy his meal, of course, and afterwards leave. Head back to the mountain path and cross the bridge. Once you do, you'll hear an explosion-like sound. What the? A bunch of gears will fly above you! It seems they're headed towards Lahan! Citan comes in and tells you about. Let us make haste! Jump down and run towards Lahan. ----- LAHAN ----- Everything's on fire! Oh crap! Well, watch the cutscenes. After some of them, you will take control of Fei inside a gear. You will have to fight two gears with it. Your gear has an ether attack called guided shot, which does decent damage. But you should attack the enemy gears with physical attacks, using both the T and S button, as the X button normally misses. After you've taken care of both gears, you'll see more cutscenes. Long ones, at that. Really long. Some stuff happens. After all of this "stuff" is done, you'll be on the world map again. You should have gained a few levels on the gear fights, so don't worry about leveling up right now. Instead, head towards the Blackmoon forest, next to Lahan, and enter it. ---------------- BLACKMOON FOREST ---------------- Head deeper into the forest, and you'll see bird fly away... this little scene scared the hell outta me o_O. Anyway, stick to the left and head forwards, until you find a pig-like monster that jumps into ledge. Jump into the ledge, too. You'll start to slide down, but keep jumping to the right until you reach solid ground, right next to a save point. Save up, and head to the right. You will see another pig-like monster standing in front of a boulder. Examine the pig-like monster, and you'll have to fight a couple of them. They're really easy. After you beat them, the boulder will start to move. Quickly get out of the way. After it's slided away, it'll reveal a road. Walk through the road. A woman will pop out of nowhere and will try to take control over Fei with a gun. She's a rookie, it seems, as Fei quickly takes control of the situation... or something like that. Fei wants the woman to kill him... he slowly approaches here, she shoots him, but she misses... how pathetic. Suddenly, a monster jumps out of nowhere, and attacks the woman. You will have to fight the monsters. They're too, goblin-like dudes who seem tough but are easy. Use a couple of combos on them and they'll die. Afterwards, both Elly(that's the woman name) and Fei will camp. Once you take control back of the couple, examine the signal here. Basically, it is telling you to jump into the ledge to the left. You'll need to do a super jump. Once you safely land, head to the right and cross the gap using the log. A cutscene ensues once again. Fei is called a coward, a bunch of crap happens, and Elly leaves for a while. You'll see another puzzling cutscene(damnit! I love this game :)) and all of a sudden, a dragon will attack Elly. Once you take control back of Fei, head up the pathway here, into the next screen. You will see Elly, who's been taken by a Rankar dragon. Fortunately, Fei is around. Time to fight! ------------------ BOSS: RANKAR DRAGON Well, at first, you'll use Fei. Attack the dragon a couple of times until Citan comes. Then, you will have to fight the dragon with your Gear. Although you're stronger now, the dragon will still be tough; mainly annoying. Constantly attack the dragon with your S and T attacks, but forget about the X attack: it normally misses. Also, Guided Shot will most likely do 0 damage. If the Rankar Dragon slows you down with his mist-like attack, use Booster in order to increase your speed. Keep hitting the Dragon with S and T attacks until he goes down(after a while). ------------------ After the fight, a cutscene takes place. Once it is done, you'll be standing next to Weltall, our Gear. Head to the far right where you'll find a small passage. Go through it. Watch the cutscene that takes place. Once it is done, you'll be on the world map. Step into the desert and walk through it, heading forwards(north... but basically you're at the east, so what the hell) until you find a fortress-like city. It's actually Dazil, our next destination. Before entering, fight around the desert. Enemies here give good EXP. Get Citan to level 10-11, and Fei to level 12. Around those levels is good, anyway. Afterwards, you may enter Dazil. ----- DAZIL ----- Citan will tell you that you must look for some Gear parts in order to repair Weltall. Before doing so, you may want to step into the inn and heal your wounds. Inside the inn a funny cutscene will take place, too. Explore the town's various houses to learn more about what's going on. After you're done, head to the bottom part of the town where you'll find a huge, dome-like place, that's actually Ethos workshop. Get inside and talk with the guy here. He's supposed to be the one who could help you to fix Weltall, but it seems he hasn't got the right parts. Oh well, step back outside, and Fei and Citan will talk about Weltall. After a little, you'll take control of them once again. Head down and head to the town's center(plaza). Citan will see a sand buggy standing there, and will suggest you to rent one. Before doing so, buy some new equipment(there is a store here in the plaza) as well as some new items, like a SurvivalTent, Rosesols and aquasols. Once you're done with shopping, return to where the buggy is(the plaza) and enter the house right next to it. Inside, talk with the guy that's sitting behind a wood desk. This guy will tell you that you can take the buggy if you want to. Citan says he'll look for parts for Weltall in the desert. Once you take control of Fei, head back outside and head out of Dazil. In the desert outside, walk to the west. After some walking... ----------- AVEH DESERT ----------- A couple of gears pass by. Follow them. You will see a scene, and then two more gears will appear. They'll head to the east. Follow them into the next screen, where you should go around the big sand mountain and then head north into the next screen. Another cutscene takes place. A couple of sand vehicles pass by. Fei will steal one. Watch the cool cutscenes. After a while, you'll have to fight the two gears you saw before. ------------------ BOSS: Enemy Gears x 2 Use Guided Shot as well as the X attack(30 fuel points) on each gear. They will go down after one guided shot and a X attack. ------------------ Afterwards... ------------------ BOSS: Wyrm You're still on your gear, don't worry. I'd recommend using guided shot. Normal attacks don't damage the wyrm, so your only option is to use guided shot. Keep shooting the Wyrm, and watch your fuel. Do not use normal attacks. After a little, the Wyrm will die. ------------------ -------------- AVEH TRANSPORT -------------- Watch the cutscenes that take place, until Fei wakes up. He will chat with Citan a little and then you'll take control of him again. Save at the Memory Cube and talk with Citan once again. Once he says that you should rest, tell him it's a good idea. Fei will take a rest then. Watch the following cutscenes. Suddenly, the transport will start to sink and you'll take control of your party once again. Head out of the room you're in and head to the left. There is a room next to the one you were in that contains a rosesol. It may not be a good idea to stop by, since the sand will get you and kill you(you won't have to reload, don't worry). So, keep heading west QUICKLY and head down the hole to the engine room. Head east and go up the ladder there. Jump into the catwalk and head north. Pick up the Leather equipment, and then head to the right(north). If there are any gaps, jump them over. Go up the ladder at the end of the path. In the next room, head north and make use of the save point. Then, head north, turn west and then head south until you find a ladder. Go up it and watch the cutscene that follows. Afterwards, jump into the crane, and head forwards, towards the crane's end. Do it fast, because you're risking Welltall here! Once you reach the crane's end, Fei will descend and get into Welltall. Watch the cutscene. After a little... ------------------ BOSS: Brigandier Once again, you should use Guided Shot as well as X button attacks(30 fuel points). Guided Shot will do more damage, so use it constantly. You may as well use some death blows with your gear. You've got one that's done by pressing T, S and one that's done by pressing T,T. Use them wisely. Keep pounding the Brigandier and he'll go down after a short while. ------------------ After the battle, you both fall into a cavern. How fortunate... ----------------- STALACTITE CAVERN ----------------- The blonde pirate will present himself: He's Bart, and is now part of your team( since Citan is nowhere to be found). After the usual cutscenes, you'll take control of Fei once again. In this dungeon, you'll be inside your gear. Save at the save point nearby and fly to the southwest portion of the cavern. Examine the big boulder there and Fei will push it out of the way. So, pick up the Gold Nugget that's in front of you and head to the southwest afterwards into a green tunnel. Go through it into the next screen. Head southwest, across the tunnel, into the next screen. Here, head forwards and walk across the bridge until you find a gray robot. Talk with him, and then head into the next screen. The camera will focus into a small house next to a save point, that's to the southwest. Jump into the platforms above and head southwest. Make use of the save point and enter the small house. You willl find Balthazar, or Bal, if you prefer. He sells Gear parts, upgrades your gears and sells items, too. You should buy some items from him and do some tune-up for your gears(I hope you have the money). Now, head back outside and save up. Head north, jumping when needed, then turn east and head into the next screen. Head east into the next screen. Is another long tunnel. Walk across it and head into the next screen. Turn north here and then turn west when you can. You will find a switch here. Press it and it will disengage. Now, jump down and head all the way back to the bridge where you found a Gray Gear who talked trash. Next to the Gray Gear there is a small passageway. Go through it, and head west. You will find the switch here, standing on a high platform. Jump into the platform in front of it and then jump into the switch's platform. Disengage it. Next to the switch's platform is another platform in where you can get a Whip for Bart's gear. Now, return to Bal's place and talk with him. He'll unlock the Sand Barrier. Before heading out, you may want to do some leveling up: you can get to Level 20 quite easily here(poor Citan; he's still level 10-11!!!).Use Bal to heal your gears. Also, learn 5AP deathblows or even 6AP deathblows. Ok, so, head west from Bal's house and head through the now unlocked sand barrier. Then, head south into the next screen. Keep heading south until you find a gondola. Get near it and once it asks you if you want to get into it, select yes. You'll leave your gears, but it's only for a short while. Once the gondola ride finishes, examine the big generator here. Select to turn on the main power. Head back to your gears, and head into the lift directly in front of the gondola. Push the button there, and head down. Head south and drop into the pit. Then, jump into the platform to the other side, and use the memory cube there. Afterwards, use the lift next to it. When you reach the bottom, head south until a cutscene takes place. Keep heading south(jump down the bridge) until the massive gear that was flying around decides to attack you. ------------------ BOSS: Calamity. First off, use Bart's Wild Smile on it. Twice. Afterwards, use your best attacks: 30 fuel attacks, as well as Level 2 deathblows, and some ether attacks(like Guided Shot). Just keep pounding Calamity with Deathblows and ether attacks until he falls. Be aware that he's got a very nasty missile attack that causes up to 500 points of damage. Be ready for anything. ------------------ Watch the cutscene that follows. Go around the destroyed bridge, and jump into it. Then, get out of the cave. Bart and Fei will talk a little, and then you'll end up in the Yggdrasil, Bart's ship. --------- YGGDRASIL --------- Fei will talk with Citan a little bit. You'll then take control of both characters, Fei and Citan. Citan has gained some levels(heh, I was wrong) but I suppose you're still ahead from him. First off, head north from where you area. You'll be in front of Weltall. The guy to the right will rename Weltall if you want to. Reutrn to the previous screen, and head north once again. Once you find a door, go through it. You'll be in the hall. The rightmost door leads into a sleeping cabin, whereas the west door takes you to the dormitory, where you can take a rest. There is a door to the northeast, here, that takes you back to the hallway. If you want, head back to the Gear Hangar and buy some parts there(there is a shop just in front of the door that takes you to the hallway). It'd be wise if you upgraded Weltall, so do it. Ok, back in the hallway, there is a door to the far north that takes you to the rest area. Maison will sell you items and equipment here, and you should buy some stuff. If you go down the stairs next to Maison's post, you'll be on the engine room. There are two doors here, both leading to rooms containing nothing. However, if you head a little to the north, you'll reach the real engine room. Here, you can talk with technicians and stuff. Head back to the hallway, and head through the northwest door. It is actually an elevator: it'll take you to the higher levels. Head through the door next to the elevator. You'll be on the bridge. Talk with the Sigurd. You'll see the Yggdrasil sand cruising on the world map. After a little, it'll stop at Bart's hideout. -------------- BART'S HIDEOUT -------------- Follow Maison and Citan into the dining hall. Maison will talk with the party and drink a cup of tea with them. Watch the cutscenes, and afterwards get out of the dining room. Head north and then east and go through the door there. Citan will talk with Bart about some ancient scrolls, and they'll take a look at them. It shows a gear... interesting. Watch the trio talk about it. Afterwards, you'll take control of Fei once again. Enter Bart's room and get the Iron Whip there. Afterwards, try to exit, and Bart will kick in. Fei will hide. Watch Bart as he talks. After he exits his room, head towards the elevator here and head down. Once the elevator stops, head out of it and approach the shaft. Bart will come out and will ask for a second. Tell him "sure" and watch the cutscene. After it, use the elevator to the southeast to head into the Gear Hangar. Talk with the technician who's handling Weltall. Fei will stare at it for a moment. Sigurd and Citan will come after a while. They'll talk with Fei a little. Afterwards, use the elevator to get into the residential area once again and get into the bedroom, north of the elevator. Use the memory cube inside, and talk with the guy next to the door. Tell him "alright" and then "I'm ok". Fei will take a rest. Watch the cutscene. After you take control of Fei once again, head down the elevator. ------------------ BOSS: Sword Knight Have Bart use his deathblows and 30 fuel attacks. The other two gears should also use 30 fuel attacks. This guy will go down fast. ------------------ More cutscenes. Afterwards... ------------------ BOSS: Aegis Knight Have Citan use Deathblows(T,T) and 20/10 fuel attacks. For some reason, 30 fuel attacks do little damage on him. Keep pounding him with deathblows and he'll go down fast. ------------------ More cutscenes. Then... ------------------ BOSS: Wand Knight x 2 They've got this attack that causes around 300 points of damage. Use deathblows as well as 10/20 fuel attacks and they'll go down fast. 30 fuel attacks also work with them, but sometimes, they'll miss. ------------------ Yet another cutscene... ------------------ BOSS: Claw Knight Have Fei use normal attacks, and then his Level 2 deathblows. Claw Knight will go down after this. ------------------ More cutscenes... then... ------------------ BOSS: Schpariel This is kinda tough, compared to all of the easy bastards you've faced. Have Fei and Bart get their attack level to 2, so they can use their strongest deathblows. Citan should use level 1 deathblows. Keep using deathblows and this enemy will go down fast. Keep in mind that Schpariel has some attacks that cause up to 300 points of damage, so be aware. ------------------ After the scenes, head back to the Yggdrasil and talk with Sigurd on the bridge. You'll take control of the Yggdrasil afterwards. You can get out of it anytime by pressing Circle. You'll be on your gears when you get out... most enemies around are kinda weak, but the Tin Robots that appear from time to time are gear-worthy, so be careful. If you have Citan's and Bart's 5 AP deathblows and Fei's 6 AP deathblow, then you shouldn't spend time trying to get new ones. Instead, head southeast, to Bledavik. -------- BLEDAVIK -------- Once you arrive here, you'll be on Blevadik's area map. Head north into the first zone. Watch the following cutscene. Afterwards, you'll take control of the party once again. Head a little forwards and a woman will interrupt you. She'll talk to you about what's going on here in Bledavik. She'll ask you if you already have an hotel. Tell her "not yet" and she'll get it for you. Head towards the hotel she points out. To get there, head into the marketplace and go up the stairs halfway through it. Enter the hotel and a cutscene will ensue. Talk with the guy behind the counter and a menu will come in. Tell him you "have a recommendation". When he asks you the woman's name, tell him you don't know and he'll lower the price. If you want to stay, it'll be 120G. So, don't stay =P Instead, head into the room that's to the north, upstairs, and talk with the guy inside. He'll talk about Margie and stuff. After he's done, head back outside and wander around. Buy some new equipment if you've got the money. The stores aren't exactly in the marketplace, but if you go up the stairs scattered throughout it you'll find some stores. Back in the markeplace, talk with the women to the north, the one standing next to the staircase. As you do, a little brat will steal some stuff from here. Talk with her again and afterwards, go up the hidden stairs next to here stall. Talk with the brat in blue and he'll ask you if you'll feed them. If you say yes, you'll be given the option to give them 1000G. Say no, of course! Instead, head through the door here. Inside the house, go up the stairs and then head into the balcony. Jump into the house's rooftop and talk with the lonely guy there. When he asks you a question, tell him "Yep", and afterwards, jump down. Talk with the little brat there and tell him you want to play hide-and-seek. Leave the screen(you'll have to enter a store or something like that) and return back to his place. He's gone! He'll first hide behind the arch at the north of the town. He'll then hide near the hotel you're using, behind some barrels. Before looking for him for the third time, go around the weapon's store where you'll find a man and a woman standing by a grate. Talk with them. Afterwards, look for the kid, who'll be north of the hotel, behind an arch that's next to a house which has a "Marine" signpost on it. Once you find the third time, he'll hide by the south entrance, to the east. He's in a small cranny/nook, and the camera won't help. Just press X around. Once you find him, he'll hand over the H&S Badge. Good. I think we've done everything here, for now. Head out of this area through the north, into the area map. Head into Shakhan's Square. Here, head north and try to go up the stairs. Bart will say that the castle's up ahead and that he shouldn't go. Tell him it's okay and head into Fatima Castle. As you arrive, there is this guy who'll ask you to challenge the champion. After the little chitchat, head to the northeast, where the Registration Booth is. Select to sign up for the tournament. You'll have to make up a name. I like Dragon Slaying Squire and Wandering Slacker, but it's your choice anyway. Afterwards, head back to the Shakhan Square, pick up Bart, and head all the way back to the hotel. Head upstairs and into your friend's room. Talk with him and the party will tell him the plan. However, you need a way to get into the castle. Return to where you found the two old guys standing by a grate, and examine the grate. The old man will tell you that you need a key. Now, head towards the church, next to the hotel and talk with the guy who played hide and seek with you and he'll tell you about a personal experience. He'll tell you that the old guy next to the grate has the key. So, head back to the grate area and talk with the old guy. Tell him you'll rescue Margie and he'll hand over the key. Now, head back to the hotel and talk with your friend. After the talking, you'll be in control of Fei. Talk with Citan and tell him that you'll get some rest. Now, as Fei and Citan, head to the Fatima castle once again. Talk with one of the guards who's blocking your way and get into the tourney area. Head to the north and talk with the guard there. Fei will get through while Citan sits as a spectator. So, head to the east, into the red booth there. Inside, talk with... DAN!!! Indeed, he's there. After you talk with him, you'll take control of Bart. Head out of the inn and head to the grate area. Examine the grate to open it. Head down. You'll switch back to Fei. The tourney will begin. Good! You'll have to fight against a Gonzalez guy. He counters deathblows, therefore build AP using weak attacks. Once you have enough AP(20), let loose a combo on him. You'll access Fei's menu afterwards. Heal him and exit the menu to take control of Bart once again. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% NOTE You'll be switching characters now. If you want to follow me, you'll have to lose time as Bart a little bit, since that's how I did things. If you don't want to lose time(who wants to?), then skip when you need to and follow the normal walkthrough. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% AS BART ------- Goof around for a while, trying to get used to this place. After a while... AS FEI ------ You'll have to fight Big Joe. The crowd helps him, and that's bad, because the crowd can help him big time. So, move fast and use deathblows on him to finish him up FAST. Hoten and Hagan seem to be good attacks to use on him. After about four of them, Big Joe is history. AS BART ------- Ok, it's time to get serious. Head north until you find a split. Just head north. You'll find a pipe. If you go up it, you'll be on the restaurant's aquarium. Open the chest here for the God Nugget. Head back down and move on. You'll find an split heading southeast, that takes you to a rosesol s. Head back to the split and head north. By now, you won't be able to because of the strong current. So just wait for Fei to kick in. AS FEI ------ You'll have to fight Scud. Use deathblows and combos if you're feeling like building AP. Scud's easy. AS BART ------- So, head north(you should be able to beat the current) until you come to a split up. Head northwest. Move along. You'll come to a split. The south one takes you to an Aquasol S, whereas the north one is the one you should take. So, head north. Once you find a three-ways split, head north. Wait the floodgate to fully open and get into the castle. An old guy will greet you. Too bad it's(probably) Fei's time. AS FEI ------ Dan... great. Don't attack him. Defend. After a while, Dan will throw the wedding dress at you and run off. AS BART ------- Use the ladder to get out of the water and talk with the old man. As you talk with him, Fei's battle will most likely kick in. AS FEI ------ You'll have to fight the Wiseman. Just attack him and he'll soon leave. You are the champion! You'll take control of Bart for good now. AS BART ------- Ok... let's finish the conversation. Head south and use the memory cube there. Afterwards, go up the ladder. Upstairs, head south and fight the two soldiers standing next to the arch. After you've finished them, head east, fight the guards there, and enter the first door and get a new weapon for Bart inside. The second door leads to nothing, while in the third room, you can get Four Iron Mails by checking the Armor models here. Once you've gotten them, head back to the archway and head through the door just in front of it. Head south. You'll see a staircase heading down, and two leading up. Head up once and go through the north door and then head east. Pick up the items along the way. At the end of this corridor(it's kinda long) there is a door. Head through it. In this area, go up the stairs. In this floor, head northeast and go through the door there. Head to the east to find a guard protecting a door. Kill him and go through the door. Once Margie "joins" you, use the memory cube and exit her room. Then, try to exit this area. You'll meet with Ramsus and Miang, and you'll have to fight 'em! ------------------ BOSS: Ramsus & Miang Margie will heal you and Miang will support Ramsus. For this battle, concentrate on Ramsus. Build up AP by using weak attacks and afterwards use a combo attack. This will most likely finish Ramsus. If he ever gets into a Defense Stance, do not attack him or else he'll counter for some good damage. Also, if you don't want to build AP, use Deathblows: they work, too. ------------------ Fei will kick in. Watch the following cutscene and... ------------------ BOSS: Ramsus & Miang. Have Fei build AP and Bart use Deathblows. Once you have enough AP with Fei, unleash a combo on Ramsus to finish him. If you don't want to take so much time, then constantly pummel him with deathblows until he falls. ------------------ Watch the cutscene. Afterwards, head east and go through the door there. Watch the party run away. Keep watching the cutscenes and when you take control of the party again, head down into the Yggdrasil. Examine the pink, stuffed animal and it'll make a weird sound. Uh? Ok, so, head through the west door, the lift. Here, you may want to rest at the bedroom(after the fight with Ramsus you must be kinda wounded). Margie's bedroom is the one at the bottom of the hallway. Talk with her inside. You'll get to name the pink stuffed animal who's in front of the deck's door. It's actually Chu Chu, a new character! Chu Chu will come in and talk with your party. After the cutscene is done, head to the deck and talk with Sigurd. Once you take control of the Yggdrasil again, head northwest, until you find a lone tree. Press X there and the Yggdrasil will go through a secret path. ----- NISAN ----- After the cutscenes, you'll be on Nisan's area map. It's like Bledavik's. Do not think about going out outside to battle, since enemies give out pitiful experience(they're the same enemies you met at the start of the game). Instead, head into the town itself. After the short cutscenes, it's time to explore! The house to the left is the inn, but because they're full, they'll apologize by giving out a Herb Tea. To the northwest, there is the general shop, where Bart's grandma works. Buy some new stuff and use the memory cube here, too. Also, there is a man on green here who'll seel gear parts. Back in the town, head north from Bart's Grandma house and go down the stairs to the right. Head north and talk with the woman blocking your way. She will get out of the way. Talk with Margie then and follow here. You'll be back at Nisan's map. Head north and talk with Margie. You'll be taken to the monastery, where a cutscene will take place. Follow Margie when she says she'll show you around. She'll head upstairs; just follow here and watch the cutscenes when you have to. Once Margie is off to see Agnes, get out of Sophia's room and head into the room that's a little to the left, where the sisters are. Talk with Agnes, who's with Margie, and she'll explain you some things about Sophia. After you talk with them, head back to the town. Head to the town's entrance where you'll find Maison. Talk with him and get inside the house. Watch the cutscenes. You'll be able to ask some questions. Ask each once once. When you've asked all of the questions, say that you understand to advance with the game. After the talking is done, go outside. Head a little north and get into the bridge(next to grandma's house) where Bart is. Talk with him. Afterwards, head north from grandma's house and get into the building to the left. Inside, you'll find Sigurd. More cutscenes(how many of them do we need, really?). After they finish, talk with Bart and tell him you're ready to go. Again, you'll have to watch cutscenes. After Fei leaves, you'll control Citan. Talk with Maison. After you're done with him, head towards where the deck's door is and go up the ladder. Watch the cutscenes. ---------------- KISLEV MOUNTAINS ---------------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Battles are INSANELY frequent here. Be careful. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Well, it's just Fei and a couple of nobodies here. Head southeast and jump your way to a couple of treasure chests containing an Extra Ar + 2 and a Magnetic Coat. Afterwards, jump your way into the cavern's entrance. Inside, jump into the upper "platform" and head southwest. Then, jump into the western platform and head a little north. Jump into the western "platform" and jump north and then jump east. Head east a little and start jumping north once the "platforms" are not too high. When you reach the top, head east and pick up the Rosesol S. Then, head west and jump into the "platform" to the left. Jump north again and when you have to, jump east. Jump north once again and talk with the gear there. Don't tell him you "can't trust him" because you'll have to fight him and you won't be able to buy stuff from him. Now, before moving on, it'd good to level up a bit: getting to level 27 is a good idea. Afterwards, save up and head through the opening here, next to the gear. Head east and a cutscene will ensue. ------------------ BOSS: Wand Knight x 2 Pushovers. Have Fei build up his attack levels and use Deathblows on the Knights. They go down fast. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Sword Knight, Claw Knight, Aegis Knight. First off, turn on your Booster. Afterwards, Build up your attack levels uisng 30 fuel attacks, and then, use deathblows. Take care of the Aegis, then the Sword and afterwards the Claw. This way, you should have no problems. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Vierge. By now, you should have little fuel: you're not empty(hopefully) but still, you're kinda dry. Good. Start off by building attack levels and using deathblows on her. Once you've dealt around 1200 points of damage, turn on the booster and pummel Vierge with deathblows. If you ever need to, use Guided Shot. After around 2500 points of damage, Vierge goes down. ------------------ You'll be in a new cave. It looks similar, but it isn't! Use the bot here to heal your Gear wounds and start to jump on. Head east and turn north when you first can. When you have to, turn west and jump your way(heading west). Jump north when you first can, turn east, and keep jumping north until you find yellow light. "Examine" it to get out of here. You'll take control of Bart now. Go up the ladder to the south. A couple of cutscenes ensue. After they're done, save, and head through the south door. More cutscenes, of course. Now, once you take control of Fei's group again, be sure to equip the Beam Coat on Fei, even if it downgrades his defense. Head west, towards the ship. Gears fly around it, as well as mines. If you hit a gear, you fight it. If you hit a mine, it damages you. Gunfire is also damaging. If you get the feeling that enemies around are TOO fast, equip something that increments speed on the desert, even if it downgrades your defense. It's worth it. The first vehicle is easily ignored; just go around it and keep heading west. Your pals will blast it. A cutscene ensues afterwards. Head West, once again. A line of mines and gears blocks the way. Two vehicles that constantly shoot are also doing their thing. Evade as many gears as you can, and head west, trying not to get shot. After you evade the vehicles, you see a cutscenes. Time to fight! ------------------ BOSS: Main Gun, Small Gun x 2 IGNORE the Small guns, you don't care about them. Instead, hit hard the Main Gun with 30 fuel attacks and any deathblows(level 1 or 2). The Main Gun will go down quite fast, before it gets to shot. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Dora Dora starts off with a shield, and damage is minimized. You should attack with Fei and let the other ones defend. After some damage, Dora's shield will break, and you'll be able to damage him effectively. If Dora ever picks the other two gears, don't attack him, let him release them. When Dora loses his shield, turn on your booster, and start hitting him with 30 fuel attacks and Fei level 2 deathblows. Have the other gears use 30 fuel attacks, like I said before. If you feel like it, turn off your booster. After about 3000 points of damage, Dora's out. ------------------ More cutscenes. Then, you'll have to fight as Bart. ------------------ BOSS: ???? Attack him if you want to. After three turns, He'll blast you with an attack that does 19998 points of damage. Hehehe. More than enough to kill you. After the battle, save your game(you'll be asked to). ------------------ --------------- NORTUNE D BLOCK --------------- After the interesting cutscenes, you'll have to fight the battlers. Save at the memory cube and talk with them. First, you will have to battle Leonardo. He's an easy bum. Three Hotens and he's out. Afterwards, you'll have to fight Heinrich. Again, he's easy. Do a couple of Hotens on him and he's toast. Or, you could buy your AP and use a combo on him. Either way, you'll then have to fight Vargas(that's my last name!). He's tougher, since he counters every attack you do to him. Build AP and use Inner Healing if you're too badly hurt. Once you have 20 AP, use a combo on him and he's out. Then comes Suzarn. When she hits you, she'll either halve your HP, do little damage or drain all of your EP. It's better to finish her fast, by using Hoten and Hagan on her. After Suzarn's down, Rico decides to battle. You cannot beat him. He'll have three turns, and will kill you in the third one. After the Baptism Ceremony is done, you'll wake up at the infirmary. Go up the stairs and head out using the door to the west. Outside, head south and turn east when you can. Once you find a building with Neon signs above it, along the south wall, enter it. Inside, head to the left and you will get a Beastoid Man's attention. Talk with him. He's Hammer. He can sell you items and equipment. After you've done shopping, head northeast. As you advance, a guard will stop you and talk with you. He tells you that somebody's been looking for you. Head back to the restaurant Hammer's in and a cutscene will ensue. After it is done, head back to the infirmary. Inside, another cutscenes takes place. Hammer tells you that a new doctor is around(hmm...) Fei meets the new doctor... it's Citan!(I knew it!). Watch the cutscene that ensues. You'll be given three options then: rest, get your collar off, or forget it. I always pick to get the collar off. Do so, and you will see a funny cutscene. It looks like you're dead, but you aren't, so wait a few seconds. Afterwards, Fei will decide not to get it off. Watch the cutscenes. After you take control of Fei again, save, and go upstairs. Outside, head northeast. The guard you met before will block your way, but afterwards will let you pass. You'll be in Kislev's area map. Head north and get into the battling arena(do not try to get elsewhere; as the guard told you, the collar may go boom. I haven't tested this, so I can't tell). Inside, watch the cutscene. After it, talk with Rue and tell her you're ready. Your first battle is against Ganador. This battles are different than normal gear battles: you fully control the gear, and its attacks, like if it were a fighting game. For Ganador, run constantly and hit him with X and S when you get the chance. Be sure not to get hit and it should be easy. After the fiasco, you'll be back in the infirmary. You'll see more cutscenes. After them, head back to the battle arena. Talk with Hammer to tune-up your gear and then, talk with the recepcionist and tell her you want to enter. You'll have to fight against a Tin Robot then. He uses long ranged attacks and normal hits, so be careful. It's best to stay near him and pummel him constantly, while dodging his hits, until he falls. Repeat the same on round two. After he's done for, you'll be given a reward in Gold, depending on how well you did. Talk with the recepcionist again, and tell her "go for it" to fight the Titan. Use ether bullets on it, as well as X attacks, while moving and doging. Ether bullets are shot by pressing L1. Be sure you don't overheat. Titan's easy. Now that you're done with Today's bouts, return to the infirmary and rest. The next day, head back to the battle arena and trigger the battle, against W-Shaver. Hit him hard with ether bullets and X attacks. Mash the X button, that's what you should do. After W-Shaver is done, get your reward and trigger the next battle, against Musha. He likes to use Lasers and Ether Bullets, so move constantly and fast. Shoot him with your ether bullets and hit him hard. Today's bouts are done, so head back to the infirmary and take a rest. As you sleep, there will be a scene. Fei wakes up and talks with Rico. Keep watching the cutscene and head outside. Go up the ladder next to the door. Head north and turn west. There will be a ladder going down there. Use it. -------------- NORTUNE SEWERS -------------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% A few words of advice here... this place's long, tough, and frustrating. Try to follow this word-by-word, even if it means extra walking, if you don't want to get lost here... and believe me, getting lost here is nasty, as enemies are tough and hit hard. At level 30, I had to use quite a lot of Zetasols here. Mullets are one of the toughest enemies arounds, since they hit hard and move fast. The "Frogs"(that's not their name) will summmon allies constantly, and it's really annoying. Rotten Sods counter deathblows, and have high defense, making them tough. Basically, my main tip is to stay at full health here... ALWAYS. Full-health characters greatly increase your chance of surviving. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Head west, being careful so you're not hit by the damaging water. Head south and when you find a bridge, cross it and head south once again. Examine the blood stains on the ground for a cutscene, and then, turn around and examine the slimy stuff on the floor. Jump over the pipe and move on ahead until you find a bridge. Cross it and pick up the Kislev Map. Then, go down the ladder that's across the water. Below, watch the cutscene. Head south, ignoring the bridge. Move on ahead until you find a bridge, and a chest up ahead. Pick up the Cool Shades on the chest and cross the bridge. You will see a ladder. Ignore it for now, and head back to where you started in this area(not the beginning of the sewers themselves). Cross the bridge near the ladder you used to get here and head north. Jump over the water. Avoid the blades and head north(don't cross the bridge) and turn south. Evade the blades and keep going on south until you find a bridge, and a memory cube. Make use of the memory cube, and head north and then west. The party will find something and examine it. After the cutscene, examine it again and Fei will pick up the Keys. Now, head back east, and head towards the ladder I told you to ignore before... remember it? It's a little south from where you are. Once you find it, go up it. You'll see that once you reach the top you cannot keep moving. Just jump in order to get into the next area. Head north. You will find some blood stains along the way, as well as slimy stuff. Head north once again, and go through the door. In the next area, head west and then south. Pick up the Knight Helm and head back. Go down the ladder again and return to where you got the sewer keys(for reference) and head south from there. Then, head east and afterwards south. Cross the bridge, head north, and then east. Cross the walkway and head east, all the way. Once you find a door, head through it. Head east and when you find a bridge, cross it and head north, until you find the Gallant Bell. Once you've picked it, head back east, until you find a bridge. Ignore it and head south, and turn east when you can. Talk with the green guy there. This is gramps. Jump over him after talking with him, cross the bridge, and head west and then south for a Zetasol DX. Head back to the bridge, cross it, and head northeast. Pick up the Gold Nugget at the end of the path. Head back to the bridge, cross it again, and head east. Once you find another bridge, cross it, and head north. At the end of the path there will be a door. Head through it. Pick up the Bell Amulet and jump into the pipes. You can get an Ether Veiler if you are good enough(it's hard). Now, exit this room and head south. Cross the bridge, and go to where Gramp is. Head north, and follow the path ignoring the bridges you find until you see a slimy pipe. Examine it. Prepare yourself. The best is yet to come. ------------------ BOSS: Redrum. This place was frustrating enough. Oh wait, it wasn't. Redrum, this area's boss, is the toughest enemy/boss you've faced. He's, that's for sure. He uses a gel attack that confuses/poisons, Fire Rain which is fire elemental and heals him, and uses Murder, which kills one party member. Start off by using Citan's Suiseii, and, if you want to, Renki. Afterwards, have Fei build AP and Rico attack normally. Citan should attack to, but if you want to, use him as a healer or as an AP builder, if you want him to combo. Once Fei has enough AP, unleash a combo on Redrum. If Citan was building AP too, use his Combo. Also, if you want to increment damage, have Fei and Rico use their abilities: Iron Valor and Steel Fist. If you use these skills, both Fei's and Rico's deathblows become overly powerful(hint, hint). ------------------ You'll see more cutscenes. You'll be outside the sewers then. Head back to the infirmary and see the cutscene. Head to the dorm and buy some healing items(DAMN THE SEWERS!!!!) and take a rest. Afterwards, head to the battle arena and trigger the next fight. It is against Hatamoto. He's tough, he moves a lot, and has a four hit combo which is nasty. Follow his strategy: move a lot, hit him three times and shoot an ether bullet. This should take him down. Then comes Firewheel, who's easy. Hit him with Ether Bullets, and when you overheat, run around until the engine cools down. Keep hitting him with bullets and he goes down. Then, you'll have to fight Silver Star. For this one, just pummel him with whatever you want, while moving and dodging. He's weak(he's a "star" after all >_>). After the battle, SAVE, and head outside. Watch the cutscene. ------------------ BOSS: Wiseman You can win, but he's kinda hard. Use Iron Valor on yourself, and pummel him with Hoten until he falls. Even if you die, you can still proceed with the game(I died, mind you). ------------------ Watch the cutscene... an interesting one, as it explains Fei's past. Afterwards, you'll wake up at the infirmary. Save, and head to the Battling Arena. Trigger the final battle, against Stier, Rico's gear. Is a tough fight. Like Wiseman told you, because of Rico's gear mass, fighting him head to head ain't a good idea. Instead, pummel him with ether shots, and if you overheat, stop shooting. After a while, Rico will go down. This battle's long, and tough, but you should be able to win. After this, you'll have to watch more cutscenes. You'll be on the Champion's room then. Basically, now that you're rank s, you can visit all of Kislev and head into the World Map. I'd recommend gaining a level or two, and learning any deathblows you don't have. Afterwards, head to the Central District. ------------------------ NORTUNE CENTRAL DISTRICT ------------------------ Talk with the guards by the entrance and they'll let you in. Watch the cutscene. Head to the right, go through the door there, go down the stairs and through the door. The door just in front of you is a soldier's family house. To the west there is a big door that takes you to a storagement room, where there is a crane. Switch it on if you want to. Pick up the item inside the blue chest(jump into the crate next to it and afterwards jump into the platform it is on; as you fall, press X to open it) and head back to the entrance. Head through the northmost door. Just south there is a room with a bunch of soldiers. To the west, upstairs, there is a door that takes you to Sigmund's room. Watch the cutscene and examine the mirror here to get the Momento Chain, which can only be equipped by Rico. Then, head back to Sigmund's room and get the Knight Mail from the chest. You can examine Sigmund's desk at the corner of his room, near the organ. It is a Metronome Piggy Bank minigame. Basically, stop the arm in the middle for some Gold. It ain't worth it, since it's hard and annoying. Head back outside and head towards the elevator. Get on it and then, get outta here. Citan will comment about Hammer, and you'll appear at A Block. --------------- NORTUNE A BLOCK --------------- Watch the cutscenes, jump into the chimeny to the right. You will land into a house's toilet room. Go through the door and talk with the woman there. It's the doctor who helped you in D Block. After the talking, head back outside and head towards D Block once again. --------------- NORTUNE D BLOCK --------------- Head towards the champ's room. On your way, a couple of battlers will meet you and talk with you. After the cutscene, you'll be given 2000 Gold. Save up and rest at your bed. At night, you'll wake up. Head outside, and run towards the infirmary. Go up the ladder next to the infirmary. Head south, jump on the crate and go up the ladder. Talk with the amazoness there. Basically, wait the train to pass by and jump into it. When you are on it, it'll start to de-attach its cars, and you will have to do quite a bit of jumping. After all of this, you'll arrive at the gear docks. ------------------ NORTUNE GEAR DOCKS ------------------ Save. Try to open the eastern door; it's locked. Then, try to open the south door. Some workers come in. The south door then becomes locked, since there is people to the other side. So, jump into the crates and go through the duct above. Head south, and when you first can, go down west. Examine the grate and select to take a peek. Afterwards, go back, head south, and turn east when you can. Then, turn south when you first can and east when you have to. Move on until you can turn north. Do so. Jump down and move the lone crate to the west. Jump into it, and then jump into the crates so you reach the duct there. Go through it. Head west and turn south. Ignore the western path, and turn east when you can. Go through the duct there. A cutscene takes place. Head east, north, and enter the office there. Examine the shelf and you will get the Master Key. You'll also get FRAME HP30. It lets you recover 30% of your Gear's HP during battle, by using fuel. It's really useful, but since it doesn't adds anything to your stats... well, anyway, head out through the eastern door here. Head east and north when you have to. Cross the door. In the next room, head north, ignore the room to the left, and cross the door. In the next area, turn west and run until you can turn to the north. Do so and head through the door. Head through the door to your right, and use the save point. Afterwards, examine the door next to it and you will use the master key on it. You're now able to go through it. Do so. Head east, then north when you can, and afterwards turn west. Go downstairs, and turn left. Go behind the staircase and pick up the Survival Tent there. Then, head west and cross the door. It's kinda hard to see where you area here. You're basically at the top-left part of your screen. Head south, and when you find an staircase, use it to head down. Then, head north, turn west and run towards the save point. Use it. Talk with the Green Gear here, who'll sell you parts. Upgrade your gears, and buy some Extra Ar + 3. These are cheap and they add a lot of defense. Also, you may wanto to pick up a Resp Circuit, or two(since they're expensive). When you're done, head for the dispensers to the northeast(head east, then north) and push the button until Weltall shows up. Get into it and go around the dispenser. Get into the elevator. -------------------- NORTUNE BATTLE ARENA -------------------- ------------------ BOSS: Rankar Dragon R >_> This guy's easy. Hit him with two Square attacks and then a Deathblow(level 2) and he's out. ------------------ Watch the cutscenes. And then... ------------------ BOSS: Aegis Knight. Oh well... just build attack levels using 30 fuel attacks(they do good damage) and when you've got 2 attack levels, unleash a deathblow on him. Afterwards, attack him with 30fuel attacks and use another deathblow on him. He will fall after this. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Sword Knight. He can do quite a bit of damage, so be careful(if you equipped the Frame HP, don't worry). Again, build up attack levels and unleash a powerful deathblow on him. It is recommended for you to get 3 attack levels and unleash a X, T deathblow. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Claw Knight. Our Main Problem is that the last battle probably hit us too hard(that bastard REALLY hit hard) so you want to finish this as soon as as possible. That means, turn on the booster, and let him have it. Constantly use Level 3 deathblows and he's out after a little. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Wand Knight x 2 Rico helps you out here. Again, you want to finish this fast. These guys also do a lot of damage, mainly with their Beam attack(which can be halved if you equipped the beam coat). Turn on both of your boosters. Have Fei attack one Gear, and Rico the other. Fei should use a level 3 deathblow and his gear, whereas Rico concentrates on using normal attacks and any deathblows he may have(level 1/2). ------------------ You'll be given the chance to save and to change your Gear's equipment. EQUIP THE FRAME HP30 ON FEI _NOW_. It will really help you out. ------------------ BOSS: Hecht. You were fully healed since the last battle. Start off by turning on your boosters. Now, have both of your gears attack Dominia(Hecth, for that matter). Constantly use deathblows, and use them fast(even if they're level 1). You could also try to get to level 3, but level 1 deathblows do a good bit of damage. Whenever Dominia summons the Super Aerods, don't attack it, and concentrate on Dominia. After a litte, the Aerods will go kaboom, damaging you greatly, but it's better to attack dominia and eat the damage up. Also, Dominia counters every attack you do. Fei will eat up quite a bit of damage, but he's good since he's got the FRAME HP30. Rico takes little damage from Dominia's counter, so don't worry. ------------------ Watch the cutscenes... >_> --------------- NORTUNE A BLOCK --------------- Elly has joined you now(FINALLY!). She's got her gear, Vierge, which kinda sucks, but you can't do anything about it right now. Head out of the house and head south. You will find some guards. You will be give an option. Select to try to break through. The guards will chicken out, Rico will come, and kick some ass. Afterwards, you'll be on the area map. You can talk with Big Joe here, and he'll explain you how to change party members. I think that our party(Elly, Fei and Citan) is a good one, but if you want some extra power, bring Rico along(not recommended). Anyway, our main objective is to get out of here, to the world map. Outside, head north( to cross the river, get out of your gears) until you find the factory. It'd be good if you leveled up, but it would REALLY good if you learned deathblows, mainly with Elly/Rico. Maybe not THAT good with Elly, but with Rico it is certainly worthwhile... still, learn your deathblows with Elly, ok? =) --------------- GOLIATH FACTORY --------------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Elly has a FRAME HP10 on her Gear, meaning she can heal her gear quite easily. Use that wisely. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%% As you enter, get into your gears(the enemies here are gear worthy) and head west and turn north once you can. Follow the path, head south when you have to and then head west. Lastly, turn north. You will meet Hammer there. He's willing to change your party, and he also sells gear parts. Upgrade your gears, even Rico's/Elly's if they aren't on your party. After you're done, head north and examine the door there. You'll get through it. Head north. As you walk, you'll be attacked. After the battle, head north once again. You'll be attacked two more times. After the three battles, go through the door at the north end of the room. In the next room, head north and turn east when you can. Move along, following the path until you reach a bifurcation, where you can head west or south. Head south if you want to save your game. Otherwise, head west. Move along until you find a bifurcation. You can head east or west. East is a treasure chest containing an O2 Cylinder. Head west and turn right when you can. Head through the door. In this next room, move north. As you proceed, you'll be attacked twice. Battle your way to the lifts that are at the north. Once you use them, you'll be on a conveyor belt. Just let it to take you to the next screen. In here, things get trickier. Jump down and head east. There will be a yellow panel there. Examine it and head back to the conveyor belt you were on(use the lift next to it; just push the blue button). Ride the belt to the east two rooms(the first one being the room where you got attacked; the second one the room that comes after it). Head south and jump down, and examine the big blue panel by the conveyor belt heading south. Once you do, the conveyor belt that goes south will be ride-able. Jump into it and let it take you two rooms away from where you are. Use the save point here. The panel next to the memory cube shifts the direction of a conveyor belt heading east. That's good. The north panel throws two treasure chests here. Anyway, ride the eastern conveyor belt three rooms. Then, get off it, and head west. Battle time! ------------------ BOSS: Fis-6 Start off by turning on your boosters. Have both Fei and Citan pummel at Fis with 30 fuel attacks while Elly uses magic/normal attacks. If you have Rico, pummel away with your 30 fuel attacks. Once you've built three levels with Welltall, let loose a deathblow. Citan should use his best deathblow. Elly should also use Deathblows, as well as Rico. Be careful since Fis-6 will sometime use "Upshift" or something like that that will increment his stats. ------------------ Head west into the Goliath's Docking Bay. Watch the cutscene that takes place. After it, save at the memory cube. Talk with Citan and tell him you'll help. Nothing happens, bah. Talk with Rico then and Citan will say "I think we can do this". Talk with him then and tell him "Yeah, let's go". Watch the cutscene. Then... ------------------ BOSS: Grahf. You are using Rico, Fei and Elly for this battle. Grahf hits hard, constantly and can halve your HP with his "Super Guided Shot". He doesn't attack Elly, never, and even if you die, the game continues. If you're serious about beating him, turn boosters on hit him with 30 fuel attacks. Constantly. I beat him, but Fei died on the process. ------------------ Watch the cutscenes. After it, talk with Hammer and then with Citan. After the cutscenes, you'll take control of Elly for a little while. Head east and jump into the platform there. Examine the brown shaft then. Watch the cutscene. You'll then get to control Citan for a while. You're in the Yggdrasil. Now, head to the bridge and talk with Bart there. After some cutscenes, you'll take control of Bart. Head to the Gear Docks, and enter the Gear Shop. This girl here sells some good stuff for your gear. She also sells Extra Ar + 4 at _150_ gold, so buy those. Anyway, talk with Citan. After talking with him, head out and head to the southwest, where you'll find Stier. Go around upstairs and put yourself behind it. A cutscene takes place then. Eventually, Fei and Elly will be rescued, and the game will resume. ------ THAMES ------ Save at the save point, and talk with the guy to the left. He sells items, which you should buy. Most importantly, buy 4 Penguin Coats and a Dervish Dress. Suit Fei with one Penguin coat and Elly with the dress. Afterwards, head to the west and exit this area. You'll be on Thames are map. A little forwards is the supply entrance, and to the east, the screw lift. For now, head to the supply entrance. From the entrance, head left and jump into the gear gun there. Then, jump to the crates to the right. Use the wood there to cross to the other crate, where you should use the sword to get into the other set of crates. Then, jump into the barrels suspended in the air, and get the Lunar Rod inside. Jump down once again(the guy to the right sells gear parts, if you want to buy them) and head back to where the gear gun was. Below it there is a door. Cross it, and jump into the crates below. To the right there is a secret room where you can get a D Circuit. Return to where the gear gun is, and head left, and then head forwards until you find a guy standing by a gun. Jump into this guy's head(really) and wait there until you see a barrel with a chest on it pass by. Jump and hit the barrel and it'll let the chest to fall. Get the Mica inside the chest. Now, head back to the area map and head to the screw lift. Examine the panel and select the "beer hall". Once you arrive, save, and go up the ladder next to the memory cube. Talk with the little kid, and he'll give you a mentsol. Drop down, and head through the door southeast from here. It's the infirmary. The door to the left of the entrance takes you to the elevator once again. Select to go to the "Bridge". After you arrive, talk with the old chap in red. He's the captain(A DOG IS THE CAPTAIN!??!!). After the little chat, head back to the beer hall through the door to the left. Talk with the captain by the windows. A cutscene takes place. Afterwards, save your game, and head back to the deck. Battle time! Run to the supply entrance, and head into the area map. Get into your gears. ------------------ BOSS: Haishao Basically, pummel away with 30 fuel attacks and use deathblows as soon as possible. Haishao is easy, since she's got low HP. She'll fall soon. ------------------ After the cutscenes, head out of the Yggdrasil via the red bridge. Follow it until you arrive at the screw elevator. Watch the cutscenes. After them, head out of the Yggdrasil via the ladder and head to the Beer Hall. Watch the cutscene and head back to the Yggdrasil's infirmary. Then, head to where Maison's shop is and go downstairs, and then head north, to the engine room. After the cutscenes, talk with Citan. Then, talk with him again. Afterwards, you should head to the infirmary and talk with Elly. Before you do so, upgrade your gears if you haven't. Once you talk with Elly, you'll be given the option to equip your party. I'd recommend equipping FRAME HPxx(whichever you have) since what's coming is tough. Afterwards, exit the menu. Watch the cutscenes. ------------------ BOSS: Bladegash. This guy will charge his sword with a certain element. When he does, he'll counter your attacks. To prevent this, have Elly cast on him the opposite element he charged his sword with. If he charges fire, cast water, and so son. Have Fei and Bart kick its ass using 30 fuel skills and level 2 deathblows. ------------------ And then... ------------------ BOSS: Haishao First off, turn on your boosters. Then, cast Wild Smile on him. Miang will heal Ramsus(Haishao) during this battle, but since you can't target her, you can't do anything about it. Haishao hits hard, and constantly. Whenever he's on his "mirror stance", don't hit him, or else he'll hit you HARD. What you should do here is to use 30 fuel attacks and have Elly use magic on him. Anemo Bolt does around 300 points of damage, so it's kinda worth it. Once you can, unleash some nifty deathblows on him. Haishao attacks three times in a row, and whenever he decides to hit somebody thrice, he does around 2000 points of damage. So always keep yourself healthy. ------------------ NOTE: You're now able to use Elly's Aerods. After that tough-fest(I'm aware that ain't a word, don't worry >_>) you'll be at the Thames sick bay. Head to the Deck and enter the Armor Ground. You'll be introduced to the Etones. Amongst them, there is this guy called Billy Lee Black(Best.Name.Ever). He'll soon join you... he's one of the best characters in the game, but you'll have to wait, ok? Head back to the Yggdrasil and talk with Sigurd at the deck. He'll tell you Margie wants to talk with you: basically, if you talk with her, she'll let you change party members. In my opinion, this party, Bart, Citan and Elly, is good enough, so let's leave it like that, ok? Good. Talk with Sigurd again and tell him you want to leave Thames. --------- WORLD MAP --------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% ENEMY DATABASE Well, just to let you know... there are quite a bit of enemies around here. The water enemies are easy, and should pose no threat. However, as you wander around the grasslands, you'll meet Griffins and Etones. Griffins do normal damage: around 300 points per turn, but take a lot of time to take down. Etones, on the other hand, hit HARD. Each of their attacks are worth 1300 points of damage. But, they have low health. Most of these enemies give out good exp. Also, Etones DO attack gear-less characters, unlike most gear-worthy enemies. In fact, whenever there is a gear-less character in your party, the etone will attack it FIRST and then take care of your gears... really annoying if you plan on learning deathblows, since Etones are really frequent here. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% The Yggdrasil can now move around the ocean. Yeshay. Yep. However, as you move around it, you'll get attacked by mostly gear-worthy enemies who give out loads 'o exp. Also, the grasslands area here contain some character-sized enemies that give out loads o' exp, too, plus you can start learning your deathblows. I recommend you highly to gain as much levels as you can and learn any deathblow you may have missed. Anyways, your destination, the Ethos Headquarters, is north from the Thames. Head there when you're feeling prepared(at around level 39, I guess). Land on the island, get out of your gears, and get into the HQ. -------- ETHOS HQ -------- Talk with the guy to the right and he'll explain you some stuff about the Etones. Then, head north. Billy will appear and he'll talk with you. After the little cutscene, follow Billy north and then head west, following Billy until he stops by a dark door. Go through it, go downstairs and head through the door there. In the next area, head east. You'll find Billy. Talk with him. You'll be taken to the infirmary then. Watch the cutscene, as usual. After it, go back to the first floor, and explore! This place's huge, so be sure you know where you're going. Our destination is the library, which is east of the stairs leading to the infirmary area. Inside the library, there is nothing. Talk with everyone there, head outside, head west, and enter each room you find. Talk with all the people you find. Then, head back to the practice hall and talk with everybody there, too. Go upstairs, too, and talk with everybody there. EVERYBODY. Once you return downstairs, you'll meet Elly only if you've talked with everybody. After the cutscene, head back to the infirmary. Watch the cutscenes, obviously, and after them you'll be back at the Yggdrasil. Pick your party with Margie so it includes Rico(you won't be fighting anytime soon so don't worry) and head to the bridge. Select to launch the Yggdrasil. Head Southeast, to the orphanage. --------- ORPHANAGE --------- Head a little to the west and talk with the bird boy there. He'll ask you for help. Basically, you've to get his chickens. Pick them up by pressing X and have them follow you into the barn. Talk with the kid once you bring them up. There are three of them scattered around. Once you've taken back all of them, the kid will give you a Tag Badge. Now, get into the main house. To the west there is a ladder. Go up it and talk with the girl there. She'll hand over a book. Drop down and head into the next room. Here, head into the first room to the right and talk with the two guys there. Primera says nothing, but the little boy(who kinda made me sad...) will hand over another book. Head back to the previous room and talk with Billy Lee Black(I love that name!!!). After the scene, head back to the room where all of the children are, and head into the second room to the right. The kid who was in the toilet will go out. He tells you that there wasn't any paper so he had to clean his ass with a book(>_>). He'll hand over it(ewwww!!!). Head into the room to the north and there, examine the bookcase. After the cutscenes, leave the orphanage and get into the Yggdrasil. Head to where Maison normally is. Watch the cutscene. Talk to Sigurd, so he knows that the group must depart. Watch the cutscene(It's insanely funny! Sigurd falls because of his drunkness!). Because of Sigurd's problem, we'll have to wait a little before moving on. Watch the cutscene. After it, you'll be on the Yggdrasil's dormitory. Head back to Maison's room and talk with Billy Lee Black(this is the last time I call him like that, ok? =). He'll explain you how to use his guns and ammo. After all of the cutscenes, you'll get to pick your party. I recommend Billy Lee Black(ok, ok, sorry!), Citan and Elly. After you've picked them, head to the deck area and go up the ladder there. Select to the get on the transport ship. ----------- REAPER SHIP ----------- Go through the door. In the next area, everything's dark. On the eastern wall there is a red switch that'll turn the lights on. After you've turned them on, head north and go up the ladder there. At the top, head north and jump down the opening. Pick up the ammo for Billy from the chest and head south. Don't let the meat beat you(>_>) and head south. Pick up the survival tent and examine the red switch. You'll open the door here. Anyway, head back north. You'll be on a hallway. The first room to east has the Cabin Two. The other two are empty. The first room to the west has a shower that if examined, will spit blood(or so you think). Kinda scary. The second room has a Silver Beret on it. The third room has some Shotgun bullets. Now, the north door is rusted, so if you run into it enough, it'll go down. Head through it. Head north and go up the ladder. Head north once again(you'll have to jump) and you'll see a tube open up. Save up at the memory cube next to it and jump into it(the tube). ------------------ BOSS: Bloody. Just like good old Redrum, he uses murder, but he uses it constantly. Have Billy pummel away with X attacks and Deathblows. You should also try using Billy's Goddess Call to increment your speed greatly. Have Citan use his best deathblows while Elly casts magic/uses her deathblows. If anybody dies, use a Zetasol on him/her. ------------------ After the battle, enter the bridge through the door just south. Watch the cutscenes. ------------------ BOSS: Giant Wels When hit by an ether attack, he'll grow up. He doesn't take damage from physical attacks, either. What you have to do is to use Billy's Ether Guns while Citan hits him softly in order to increment his attack level. Also, have Elly use some magic on him. After he's grown up four times, use your deathblows on him. He should go down shortly after this. Keep in mind that Billy's guns won't enlarge him, but Elly's magic will. ------------------ Now, we must head back to the Ethos HQ. Before doing so, equip Billy with anything new you've found and buy some new bullets for him. Also, do a bit of tuning on his gear. After you're done, head back to the orphanage and head towards where the bookcase is(beyond where the children rooms are) and put the three books you found there. Push it away and get into the secret room and pick up a new weapon for Billy Lee Black(=P). Now, head back to the HQs. -------- ETHOS HQ -------- Watch the cutscenes. Something's wrong here... head north and look for a door on the western wall. Go through it. Watch the short cutscene and fight the monsters. Now, go downstairs to the infirmary area. You'll have to fight some more monsters below. After the battle, head east and go through the door there. Move on until you see a bifurcation. Instead of heading forwards, turn left and check the rooms there. One of them has Big Joe inside, and the other has a man. Talk to this man twice. Now, return to the bifurcation and head forwards(east). You'll find a lift. Examine the panel and it'll start moving. Once it stops, jump out of it and head north. Go through the door and follow the path to a door. It is locked. Backtrack a bit and you'll find another door. Get through it. Now comes a series of cutscenes. The usual jazz. After them, get out of this room and after some cutscenes, a battle takes place. After you beat the monsters, follow Jessie into the next room. Another cutscenes ensues, and you'll be on the Yggdrasil. Head to the Thames and talk with the Captain and then with Hans. Now, buy some items(specially bullets for Billy) and get Billy's gun at the orphanage if you haven't yet. Afterwards, head to the dig site, north of the Thames. -------------- ETHOS DIG SITE -------------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%% The phobia enemies here can only be beaten if you heal them. Also, if you touch any guard you find, you'll have to fight him. %%%%%%%%%%%%%% Get into the elevator and activate it to head down. At the bottom, go through the hole in the wall. Ignore the guard here and go through the door to the right. You will see another cutscene. After it, wait the elevator you're in to stop and head out of it. There are a bunch of locked doors here, only the eastern one will open, so head through it. Head to the east and watch the short cutscene that takes place. After it, keep heading west into the next area. Go up the stairs and head through the door. In the next area, run to the north until you reach a save point. Make use of it and go through the door next to it. Head to the east, ignoring all of the doors you find, since most of them don't open. There is a guard in front of a door. Fight him and go through the door, which is an elevator. Once it stops, step out of it and head north into the next room. Pick up the ammo for Billy to the left and head to the right. Fight the guard(you've got no choice) and head through the door that's to the east. You'll see a short cutscene. Run forwards and cross this hallway and head through the door at the end. In the next room, head to the south, following the path until you reach yet another guard. Kill him and proceed forwards until you find yet another guard guarding a door( that's behind him). Kill him, and get through the door. In the next room, pick up the Sleep Guard from the chest. Head back to the hallway and go through the door to the right(walk forwards a bit and look to your right). Go down the stairs and go through the door at the bottom. Cross the short hallway, and you'll come across a bifurcation. Head west until you reach the end of the hallway, and look to your right. Head through that door and cross the hallway. As you reach the other side, Billy mentions that the place is a wee bit strange. Move along the corridor(on the northwestern wall there is a door leading to a room where you can get the Black Snake for Bart) until you find a group of two guards. Fight both groups and go through the eastern door. Save inside and pick up the item. Head back to the corridor and go through the north door. Go down the stairs. Examine the panel which tells you that it was activated 3499999999 hours ago, which, according to Ignacio de Lucas, is... 450 years, or something like that. We don't care about that, so select "Execute". Go upstairs once again and get into the room where you picked up the Black Snake. Examine the computer and select "Reset". Now, enter the eastern door, save up your game and heal. Go through the north door, go downstairs and examine the door. This time around, it'll open. Good. Examine the red door here and a cutscene ensues. After it, you'll be on a small room with two doors. Head into the southwestern door, and examine the computer inside. A cutscene takes place. Head back to the previous room, but this time around, head south. Run south and a cutscene ensues. After it, examine the green tube. You'll be introduced to the two elements: Seraphita and Tolone. And guess what? Yep. You guessed it. ------------------ BOSS: Seraphita & Tolone. Seraphita is the pink-haired girl. Tolone is the white-haired girl. Our first target will be Seraphita. She's stronger and has low health, compared to Tolone. Have both Citan and Billy use deathblows on her, constantly. If you didn't bring Billy along, then use Bart's/Rico's/ Elly's. In case you have Elly, you could also use some spells on here. After Seraphita's down, Tolone becomes a little tougher. Finish her off with deathblows. ------------------ Now, you must head back to the Dig Site's entrance. On your way, SAVE AND HEAL! This is very important. Once you reach the bridge near the beginning of the cavern, you'll find that somebody's been waiting. Somebody you know. Yep. Prepare to fight. ------------------ BOSS: Id. Fei's alter-ego is here to kick your ass. He's got low health(around 3000) but he packs a punch with his deathblows. Basically, have Citan and the rest constantly use Deathblows on Id. Your attacks will miss sometimes, but just keep attacking him. If you brought Billy, have him heal when needed. Id is insanely fast and packs a punch. This is a tough battle. ------------------ Now, get the hell outta here. --------- YGGDRASIL --------- Go down the ladder. You'll be on the Yggdrasil. Heal and save, and head towards the gear docks. Go behind Welltall and watch the cutscene. You'll have to pick up your party afterwards. I recommend Rico, Billy and Elly. I'm not crazy, is just that you can't use Citan and Fei. Watch the cutscenes. ------------------ BOSS: Alkanshel. At first, he'll have a shield. So, attack him with weak attacks. After a little, a cutscene takes place, and then, he'll lose his shield. Now, start attacking him! If you brought Billy and Rico along, attack him 30/20 fuel attacks, and use level 1 deathblows. Billy's and Rico's level 1 deathblows do around 1500 points of damage. Elly, if you brought her along, should also use level 1 deathblows. They do 700-800 points of damage, and that can help. Bart's level 1 deathblows also do around 1000 points of damage, so you could use him too. Be careful since Alkanshel will sometimes halve your HP using an attack called "Mass Limit". His Seal attack is also very powerful(1300 points of damage) but it can be halved if you equipped a Seal Ar. If you didn't, I hope you have some FRAME HP. Also, as a sidenote, DON'T USE AERODS ON HIM! It causes 0 damage. ------------------ After the cutscenes, pick up your party, upgrade your gears(they're selling new stuff in the store), buy items and heal yourself. Afterwards, launch the Yggdrasil and head to the Babel Tower, a little to the East of the Ethos Dig Site. ----------- BABEL TOWER ----------- Head east and go through the big door. In the next room, head southeast( try not to fall down; you'll regret it) and drop down. Head west and pick up the Ether Ar to the left. Then, jump into the southern platform, and keep jumping south and when you can, jump west. Turn north and pick up the Lite Ar + 1. Now, head back south and then head east into the platforms. Start jumping south again until you reach a hanging rope. Ok, listen up... you're going to have to jump into the rope and grab it. Yup. Now, when you do, build up your momentum by swinging left or right. When you have enough, jump into the next platform, to the south. Head southeast and go up the "hand". As you reach its top, it'll start to bend. Basically, you've got to jump into the western platform before it bends, or else, you'll meet the bottom of this horrible place. You've got to run fast or else you're doomed. If you do it(it took me three tries, don't feel too bad =P) head to the north. Fei will comment about the Realy system. Afterwards, you'll have to grab the rope here(Don't worry, this one's easier to climb). Once the gears fully climbed the rope, save at the memory cube. Head west and Fei will comment once again about the relay stuff. After he's done with his rambling, you'll get out of your gears. Enter the small room next to where you gears stop. Pick up the Gold Nugget inside and then examine the screen(the big one). Then, examine the panel that's in the eastern part of the room, above another panel. Once you do, get out of this room and get into your gears. Drop down and head north. Jump into the crates and examine the lift. You'll get into it. Jump into the crates and move on east until you see another platform. Jump into it and pick up the items inside the chests: a Beam Jammer and an Ether Ar. After getting them, you must at least have on character gear-less and climb into one of the tiny ladders here. You'll get to a door as you climb; go through it. In the next room, get the Gold Nugget from the left chest and an Old Circuit from the right chest. Now, jump into the seats here and examine the south panel, next to the big panel. A cutscene ensues. And then... ------------------ BOSS: Ramsus(Wyvern). Turn on your boosters and hit Ramsus with 30 Fuel attacks. Once you get Attack to level 1, unleash deathblows on him. Level 1 deathblows do around 900-1000 points of damage to him. Constantly hit Ramsus with them and he'll fall soon. Also, keep in mind that Miang will sometimes heal him. And, he still uses his Mirror Stance, so try to kill him fast. ------------------ Save and take the eastern door, that's to the far right(it's kinda hard to see, but it is there). Head east, and when you can, head south. You'll see a pit. You've got to jump over it, but if you drop down, you can get a Ground. Anyway, jump over it and keep going south. You'll find a locked door... ah too bad. Head back to the pit, get out of your gears and go through the small door there. Get the O2 Cylinder to the north and drop down. To the left there is a Gold Nugget and to the right an E Circuit. After you've picked them, examine all of the blue panels here. Once you do, head back to the locked door and go through it. Head south until you find another pit. Drop down it and at the bottom head north. Pick up the Veil Doubler and Wind Veil Ar. Now, turn around head south. Go all the way south. On your way, you'll have to jump into some pipes to reach a higher platform. Once you do, head south once again until you reach a room with a bunch of pipes and a circular platform in the middle. First, pick up the Iced RodG next to the circular platform. Then, jump into the platform and head south. Pick up the Fire Veil Ar and then go through the door. Go down west and talk with the Green Robot to heal your gears. Then, head south(do not jump into the orange platforms). You'll find a small orange block. Jump it and keep heading south and when you see a chest, pick it up. Head back to the repair bot and jump into the orange blocks. Head south and when you find a gigantic traffic jam, jump into it. You'll have to battle it. Once you finish the little bugger, it'll act as an elevator. It'll take you higher into the Babel Tower. When it reaches the top, jump into the eastern platform. Go north and head into the platform to the west. Then, head north again and when you find another platform to the east, get into it and head north. When you see white platform to the north, jump into it and then get into the traffic jam. Battle it, and let it act as your elevator then. When it reaches the top, jump into the platform to east and then head south. When you reach another white platform, jump into it and head west. There is a traffic jam there; do the usual. At the top, jump into the south platform and then head east. Head north afterwards, going below the cage-like structures and jumping when needed until you find a traffic jam standing by a white platform. Get into it. At the top, jump into eastern white platform. Walk a little east then, and jump into the red platform to the right(south). Get the Water Veil Ar. Now comes a somewhat tricky part. There is a traffic jam here, which can be seen perfectly if you stand along the western end of the platform. However, this traffic jam is along the eastern end, where it cannot be seen. You can screw up quite easily here, so get an idea of the Traffic Jam's location before jumping into it. Once you do it, let it ride for you. Jump into the southern platform. Now, head south, jumping from platform to platform until you reach some blue pipes. Examine them. You'll start climbing. Now, you have to jump down and do this all over again and then do three extras levels of traffic jam jumping... ... no, you don't have to =P Lame-ass joke I know. At the top of this place SAVE and head southwest. A cutscene takes place. Guess what's your prize for getting here? ------------------ BOSS: Seibzehn. His main weakness are ether attacks. I used Fei, Citan and Billy and it was quite easy, and it should be easier if you brought Elly along. Citan used his level 1 deathblows along with Fei. Billy used 20 fuel attacks, which caused around 400 points of damage and level 2 deathblows. Citan and Fei will do little damage with their attacks, although their deathblows will do nowhere around 500-500 points of damage. Billy's 20 fuel attack does 300-400 PTS of DMG on its own, but his level 1 deathblows do little damage, so it's better to use his level 2 deathblows. Elly is awesome here: her aerods and magical spells will wreak havoc on Seibzehn. All in all, not a tough fight. ------------------ Watch the cutscenes and you'll FINALLY(*gasp*) get to visit Shevat. ------ SHEVAT ------ After you're introduced to Maria, use the elevator in the middle of the room. You'll be taken to Shevat's area map. Head to the Northeast and get into Aphel Aura, Shevat's capital. Inside, head northeast past the archway. Follow the path until you find a big dog. Go up the steps next to him and follow the path until you reach a staircase. Use it to go down and enter the first house you come across. This is basically the "Chu-Chu" realm. A bunch of Chu-chus lives here, and you can buy some items, too. If you want to start a mini-sidequest here, talk with the Chu that's standing on a lamp, and with the old Chus(the ones that look old and intelligent). But most importantly, talk with the one standing on the lamp. If you talked with all of the people here, use the elevator at the eastern part of the house and head down. Below, talk with the girl to the left and exit through the door to the west. Outside, head north and talk with the old guy there. Tell him you like fishing. Buy his "thread"(A Spider Web) and go into the previous room. It's time to fish! Jump into the top of the fountain and press X. You will start to fish then. When you're given an option, select to rell the fish in. Now, you could get the fish, or lose it. If you lose it, you'll have to buy some more "thread". If you get the fish, you'll collect the DARK ROCK. Head out of the Chus house and head east. Follow the circular path until you can go northwest. Head northwest and turn west when you can. You'll see a door there. Go through it. Inside this house, use the elevator to go down. You can buy gear items here; buy them if you want to. Go back up and head outside. There is an elevator in front of this house: ride it down, and below, go south into the house there. Examine the doll on the table to get the DUSK ROCK. Now, go upstairs and go through the door to the left of the staircase. Inside, there will be a cutscene. After it, examine the wooden horse. Watch another cutscene(NOTE: This part must be done in order to proceed with the game normally). After the cutscene is done, you'll be able to go the palace. Don't do it just yet; instead, go back to the town's entrance and head to Shevat's Area Map. Examine the area southwest of the angel statue. You'll get the Dawn Rock after a little. Head back to Aphel Aura and use the elevator near the entrance. Head down the stairs then, and below, go behind the staircase and through the door. Examine the big elevator. It'll start to work. It'll take you to a secret room, where you can get a lot of nifty items. Examine the tables to the right. You'll get: Power Crisis, Panalphasol, Hob-Steak, Physimentsol, Samson's Hair, Yamato Belt, Hard Star, Speed Star, Eth Drive, Vit Drive, Str Drive, Eth Def Drive, HP Drive and Ep Drive. A whole lot of items! Now, examine the "altar" here to get a Chu-Chu Idol. Excellent! Head to Shevat's are map after all of this and examine the Angel Statue. You'll get to the castle. Talk with Maria and she'll tell you to should enter Queen Zephyr's room. Don't do it just yet. Instead, head east and enter the first room you find. You can rest here and save. Head back outside and continue east and go downstairs. There are three rooms here: the one to the north contains a woman who tells you some very interesting information. The other two doors also house people who have got a lot of interesting stuff to say. After you're done talking, head south and go downstairs. There are two rooms here that also house some juciy information(in one of them you can find Yui and Citan's daughter) and further south there is the engine room and a staircase leading to the lobby. Go up the staircase and head northwest, ignoring the staircase that goes south. Northwest you'll find a door. Go through it and follow the path until you reach the "jail". Further to the east there is a room where an old woman is. Talk with her to learn more about Shevat's happenings. After you're done here, head outside this area and go up the stairs that go south, located before the entrance to this room. The door south leads to the chemistry ward, where somethings are explained( mainly about limiters) and the door a little to northwest is a circular room where the truth about Omnigears is revealed(is a short story, but really interesting; pretty much clarifies why Solaris is looking for the Anima Relics). A little farther to the northwest is the library. Here some REALLY interesting stuff is revealed. Now, after hearing to all of the people's stories and revelations, head to Queen Zephyr's room, at the north of this area. Inside, head north and talk with Wiseman. Head through the northmost door. Head north once again and wait the two platforms to align. Step into them. Zephyr then "uncovers" herself. The 500+ years old queen looks younger than my 10 year old cousin. Weird. Watch the usual cutscene. After it, rest in the room east from Zephyr's room, and then, return back to the Queen's room. Talk with her and tell her your "heart is set". Now, after a series of unfortunate events, you'll have to pick up your party THAT MUST INCLUDE MARIA. Maria... is not that good. She ain't, I tell you, but it cannot be helped. After picking your party(personally, I prefer Fei, Citan and Maria). Head to Shevat's area map, and go to the "Central Dock Entrance". As you ride the elevator down, it'll stop, and you'll enter an emergency shaft. --------------- EMERGENCY SHAFT --------------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% ENEMY DATA FORBIDDENS: They are strong and can kill you quickly. To deal with them, concentrate all of your attacks in one forbbiden until he falls. Do not let it attack, because it could kill you in one hit. Also, if you're low on health, run away! Forbiddens show no mercy against weak characters. TEARS: Should be both finished off at the same time. If you can't do this, they'll increment their attack power. If they do, finish them fast. GIMMICK: Do a Six triangle attack to finish them off. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Head north and head west. Pick up the Shevat Map and then head east, all the way east until you reach a an archway that's blocking your path. Jump over it and continue through the door. Then, go downstairs and go through the door at the bottom. Head West and then north until you find an elevator. Ride it up down. Jump out of it then, and head west. Go down the ladder and check the green jewel there. Activate it and jump into one of the windmill's hand and let it take you to the other side. Jump off into THE _UPPER_ PLATFORM, go down the ladder and ride down the elevator. Go all the way south to a treasure chest containing a Battle Apron, which increments your DEF and ATTK. Good! Head back north and take the FIRST split to the west you see. Follow the path until you can go south, or west. Head south, through the door, and go up the staircase. At the top, go through the door. Head south and turn east. Pick up the Ruby Helmet from the chest, and head north then. Follow the path and pick up the Rosesol DX and Aquasol DX there. Go back downstairs but this time around, head east, then north, and west at the split. Keep going west until you see a door on the southmost wall. Go down the stairs and go through the door. Follow the path until you find a bifurcation. South is a Whip-Lasher. Head west after picking it up. You'll come along another bifurcation. Head north. You'll find an enemy guarding a door. Ignore it and keep going north(turn west when you have to) until you find an elevator. Ride it down. Use the save point. Afterwards, start jumping east(from the elevator) until you find a ladder. Go down it and then down the next ladder you'll find. Head west and jump into one of the windmills "hands" and ride it up(when you reach a stone block blocking your way, stand by the "hand's" bottom so you don't have to jump it) until you see another windmill. Jump into one of its hands and let it take you to the next platoform, which has a green jewel on it, as well as an elevator. Ride the elevator down and head south until you find a door. Go through it and go down the stairs, and then head through the door. Below, head east until you find another door. Go downstairs once again, head through the door, and head west. You'll come along a bifurcation. To the west there is a save point, and south there is the exit. If you head south, examine the manhole to exit. Head West and go through the door. Follow the path to Seibzehn's hangar. There, watch the cutscene that takes place. After them, you'll have to select a gear for a generator. The way I do it? Sure. Generator 1: Elly. Generator 2: Bart. Generator 3: Citan. Generator 4: Billy/Fei. After this, tell Citan to give you time. Save, heal, and buy equipment for the Gears you're going to use. For Elly, buy stuff that boosts her Ether Attack. Once you're done, tell Citan you're ready. You'll be able to equip your Gears. ------------------ GENERATOR # 1 BOSS: Littlefoot x 2, Solaris Guard x 6. Use Aerods on them. Boom. Ciao. They're out. Well, the Solaris Guards are. The littlefoots will require some extra attacks(20/10 fuel do good damage) to take down. ------------------ ------------------ GENERATOR # 2 BOSS: White Knight x 3 Bart's turn! It couldn't be easier... a 30 fuel attacks is enough to take down a White Knight. So, basically, with three attacks, this battle ends. ------------------ ------------------ GENERATOR # 3 BOSS: White Knight x 2, Citadel. Heimdal's turn! Turn on your booster, and use 30 fuel attacks on the White Knights to take them down. Then, use a level 2 deathblow on Citadel, and build up your attack power using 30 fuel attacks and then use level 2 deathblows on Citadel. Heal whenever your HP hits 4000-5000 because Citadel uses a Gel attack that causes around 3000 points of damage. ------------------ ------------------ GENERATOR # 4 BOSS: White Knight x 2, Avalanche. Turn on your booster, and use a healing spell on yourself in order to prevent armor loss(by now, Avalanche has used his drill, which causes armor loss). If you let your armor to drop down, Avalanche will start doing like 5000+ PTS of DMG per turn! Yikes! Take down Avalanche first, using level 2 deathblows(around 2000+ PTS of DMG) and use FRAME FIX whenever you need to. Once Avalanche's down, Kill both Knights using 30 fuel attacks. ------------------ Watch the cutscene. You'll have to fight another boss... as Chu-Chu >_> ------------------ BOSS: Achtzehn. Chu-Chu cannot be damaged by Achtzen, at all, so just keep pounding away with 30 fuel attacks. After very little, Achtzen will go down. ------------------ More cutscenes. You'll now fight Achtzehn as Maria. ------------------ BOSS: Achtzehn. Turn on your Boosters and smack down Achtzehn with 30 fuel attacks and use level 1 deathblows. After a little, Acthzehn is history. ------------------ Now, after the cutscenes, you'll be on the Yggdrasil. You can now learn Hyper Deathblows, and you should do it. The best place to do so, along with leveling up/earning cash is the Emergency Shaft in Shevat, which is still accessible. Here, EXP and GOLD is given in huge amounts, plus you can learn your deathblows as you progress. Get to at least level 60 before proceeding. If you're having trouble leveling up here in the emergency shaft, you could travel to the northwest and fight some gear battles around there for BIG EXP. You won't be able to learn deathblows though. When you're ready, head to Nisan. For this part of the game, I used Billy, Citan and Fei( the usual). ----- NISAN ----- After the cutscenes. Afterwards, you'll have to fight a soldier. Once you're done with him, you'll probably have to fight some more guards. After you're done with ALL of them(you must kill them all in order to proceed) and after the cutscenes, you'll have to pick a party that includes Bart and Fei. The Third character should be Billy, since you can't pick Citan. After all of this, get out of Nisan(through the western exit), into the area map. Go behind the cathedral(head to the left/west and follow the path) and talk with Margie. After doing so, you'll be inside the masoleum. -------- MASOLEUM -------- Go down the stairs(it's a long way) until you find a door. Go through it, and watch the little cutscene. Keep going downstairs then until you reach a circular room. After the cutscene, Margie will ask you a question. Select "...Please..." to continue on. Head north. You'll be attacked by a couple of soldiers. Beat the crap outta them, and head north. Get into the elevator and go up. Follow the path and open the northmost door and then head through the north door that opens. You'll see another, smaller door. Follow the path until you come to a bifurcation. Take the western path and go through the door. Watch the cutscene. Pick up the Desert Worm next to the Save Point(save, too). Head north and go through the door. Follow the path until you find another bifurcation. Go east and through the door. Select to go up. Once the elevator stops, get out of it and follow the path to the west until you come to another bifurcation. Head to the northwest until you find a door. Head through it, and in the next area, head northeast. You'll find a door on your way, along the north wall. Take the third one you find. Follow the path until you reach a tresure chest. Pick up the DEATHBLOWER 1 on it. Equip it on Welltall. Go back to the main hallway and go through the second door( from north to south). Follow the path here until you see a door to your left. Go through it. Examine the "altar" to use the Jasper on it. Head out of this room, and take the door that's to the east, in this very same hallway. You'll be on a gigantic room. You should easily see a darkened path, with some blue lights on its sides. Take this path to the south. You'll appear on a gear hangar. After the cutscene, check the "throne" just below the big gear(Omnigear) you saw. Bart will read something. Watch the cutscene. After them, head back to the room where you got the Desert Worm(the bridge). Save, and check the panels here. After the cutscenes, buy anything from the Tool Guy, and head back to the Omnigear hangar. On your way, you'll find more Monks and enemies, so be careful. On your way there, you'll be surrounded by enemies, and a cutscene will ensue. After it, keep going. Once you reach the hangar, another cutscene ensues. After it, you'll have to fight 2 Neo Etones. They're easy. Once you beat them, more cutscenes ensue. You'll be back at Nisan. Your party's still the same, but you can change it. Now, CHANGE BILLY FOR MARIA!!!! This is VERY important. Once you do so, purchase anything you may have missed, and equip anti Seal stuff on your gears(Seal Ars and Seal Barriers). Afterwards, head out of Nisan and get into the Yggdrasil. Head West(get into your gears before) to the Ignas Gate Cave. Inside, head north, battle the Neo Etones, and keep heading north. Open the door and watch the cutscenes. ------------------ BOSS: Shakhan. Turn on your boosters. Start attacking Shakhan, and don't worry, because he won't heal this time around. Once he unplugs from the gate, let loose your deathblows on him. Seibzehn and Andvari will do the most damage, although Fei can still pull out a damaging combo if he has a deathblower equipped. He'll counter all of your attacks, but you can't do anything about it. After a while, he'll plug to the gate again. When he does, DON'T ATTACK HIM, because if you do, he'll heal himself. Turn off your boosters when he plugs, and then, Just wait 'till he unplugs. When he does, DON'T TURN ON YOUR BOOSTERS, just attack him like a madman with your deathblows and such. Basically, don't attack him when he attaches on the gate the second time; use that time to heal and build fuel up. I beat him before he re-attached; I used level three deathblows with Seibzehn(4000-4500 PTS of DMG), Level 1 deathblows w/ DEATHBLOWER with Fei(1000 PTS of DMG) and with Andvari... well, he got to Hyper Mode in this battle, so I just kept using his special infinity attack(3500 PTS of DMG) over and over. ------------------ Get the hell out of the cave. Watch the cutscenes. Our main objective is to visit the Babel Tower once again. Get into the Yggdrasil and do so. ---------------------- BABEL TOWER RE-VISITED ---------------------- Go through the southmost door. You'll have to pick Billy's party then. Replace Chu Chu with Maria. Afterwards, you'll be in control of Fei's party. Head to the east(there aren't any enemies here, don't worry) and be sure to equip Elly and her gear. Once you find a pit, jump into it and get out of your gears. Go through the small door. Battle time! ------------------ BOSS: Bladegash & Marinebasher. You'll be using Fei and Elly here. Turn on your boosters and use Aerods with Elly while you build up attack levels with Fei. If you have a DEATHBLOWER equipped on Fei, use his level 1 deathblows, otherwise use his level 2/3 ones. Take out Marinebasher(fish-like thing) first and then take care of Bladegash. I'd like to point out that when you use Aerods, you'll heal Marine Basher but Bladegash will take huge damage from it(without an Ether Doubler, mind you. Just two Power Magics). Also, Thermo Cube( Elly's Ether) does around 3000 PTS of DMG on Marinebasher. Overall, an easy fight. ------------------ You'll know have to figth with Bart and Maria(if you brought her along). ------------------ BOSS: Skyghene & Grandgrowl. Basically, have both Seibzehn and Andvari use 30 fuel attacks on Skyghene( the flying thing). Skyghene's pretty nasty, you know. Once you have enough attack levels, unleash deathblows on him. Afterwards, repeat the same with Grandgrowl. It should take a few rounds to take care of both gears. ------------------ Too bad Billy's aim is not the best(you'll know what I mean when you get here). You'll have to fight both elements groups once again! ------------------ BOSS: Bladegash & Marinebasher. Again, use Aerods to slowly kill Bladegash while kicking Marinebasher's ass with Fei's deathblows. Once Bladegash is out, have Elly use Thermo Cube on Marinebasher and Fei his level 1/2 deathblows. ------------------ It's not over yet. ------------------ BOSS: Skyghene & Grandgrowl. Same strategy as before. Nothing too hard. ------------------ You'll be back at the Yggdrasil. Save, and head to the Thames. In the Thames, upgrade your equipment(that includes your gears). Talk with the captain and head back to the Yggdrasil. Tell Sigurd you're ready to go. -------------- SARGASSO POINT -------------- NOTE: To swim, constantly push the Triangle button. Use the d-pad to move. Head forwards and walk along the path until you come to a bifurcation. Head right, and when you find another bifurcation, head right once again. Follow the path and pick up the Mermaid Mail(save here too). Come back to the bifurcation but take the left split this time around. Once you come to another bifurcation, ignore the right path for now. Instead, head left(it make take a few tries because the left path's current will push you away) and follow the path until you find a small room with two treasure chests. Open both of them, and head back to the bifurcation and head right this time around. Follow the path until the current pusheas you away. After the cutscene, head forwards to get out of the water. In this room, get the DEATHBLOWER 2(equip it on somebody) and do any last minute preparations. Then, enter the generator room. ------------------ BOSS: Crescens. Turn on your boosters, that's important. Build up attack levels with your characters. With Fei, who should have a DEATHBLOWER 1 equipped, use his T, X deathblow constantly. Anybody who has equipped a DEATHBLOWER 2(I suppose Citan or Bart) should use the S, X level 2 deathblow. Crescens is fast, evades quite a bit, and is powerful, but not too tough. ------------------ After the battle, there will be more cutscenes, and you'll appear on Shevat's sleeping room. Now, listen up buddy. This is it. You're off to Solaris, and when you do, there is NO TURNING BACK. So, before you tell queen Zephyr you're ready to go, do last minute purchases, preparations, and level up. Level up until you're about Lv65, that's more than enough. Learn all of your deathblows with at least Citan, Fei, Billy, Elly and Emeralda(Emeralda being the most important). Get some cash too. The best place to do all of these is the emrgency shaft in Shevat, of course. Once you feel like you're ready, make a separate savefile, and tell Zephyr you're ready. ------- SOLARIS ------- At first, this place will be upside down, but it'll fix up in a while. Head to the left and enter the container there. A cutscenes takes place and afterwards, you'll be as Fei, inside the container. Save, and get out of the container. After the... disturbing cutscene(poor guy...) you'll take control of Fei. Head to the northwest and get into the second elevator you find. You'll find... Timothy inside!!! Or so you think =P He's Samson. Talk with him and tell him "Yeah Sure". Get back outside and keep heading northwest until you find the block's last elevator. Jump into it and it'll take you to Elly. After the short cutscenes, you'll have to visit Samson again. He'll give you the Worker Permit. Get outside and head to the east. You'll find a guard standing by a tower. That guard is actually Sam! Talk with him and watch the cutscene. Follow Sam into the next room. In this area, follow the path to the northeast until you find a small room with an elevator, a door that leads to the northwest, and a path that goes east. Go east and get into the elevator there. After you arrive at the upper level, head northeast and go through the door. Here, there are Security Cubes. They can see anything in front of them and behind them. If they see you, they'll take you back to the beginning. Anyways, head northeast and go through the door there. Get into the elevator and then head northeast all the way until you find Sam. That idiot tries to cross the limit and gets... vaporized. After the cutscene, Elly will get you through this. Go through the door then. After you arrive, head northwest and through the door. Head out of this room. You're now in Solaris residential district. Head to the left, and follow the bridge until you find four doors. All of them take you inside the "mall", where you can buy items and equipment. Obviously, do so. Head outside once you're done and head northeast until you find a soldier blocking your path. After he tells you you can't go through, head northwest until you come to a green, revolving door. Go through it and go up the elevator. Above, go through the soutmost door and talk with the woman there. She'll hand over the tickets you were needing so much. Head back to the guard who blocked your way before, and he'll let you go through. Watch the big, fat cutscenes. After all of these, you'll be running away from security cubes. Run as fast as you can! You may have to trash a few security cubes on your way, but they're easy, specially if you've learned Hyper Deathblows with both Elly and Fei(Elly had none and Fei had all of his and it was still easy for me). After a while, you'll be out of this thing(be sure to snag every treasure you find). Head southwest when you do and get near the big doubler doors. A short cutscene takes place. You'll be inside Elly's house afterwards. Is a big house, so explore around a bit. In one of the house's room you can get a Psycho Rod from who I suppose is Elly's nanny. Talk with Elly's mother in the kitchen and then enter Elly's dad room. Inside, examine the computer on the desk for a cutscene. You'll take control of Fei afterwards. Now, head back to the government office you appeared in after crossing the "limit"(the one that vaporized Sam). Inside, get near the guard and a cutscene takes place. Afterwards, you'll be with Citan in your party. Head back to the 3rd Level Citizen Block. Head west until you see a blue hole in the ground, between two containers. This is the dust chute. Examine it and you'll jump into it. Below, head northwest and examine the green panel. You need a cardkey... but Elly comes in just in time, with the cardkey! You'll have to control Elly afterwards. Exit her room to get the cardkey and a couple of cutscenes. After they're done, examine the green panel again. ---------- DUST CHUTE ---------- Start jumping and head northwest. Go through the door there and go up the ladders until you find another door. Go through it. In the next room, go down the ladder. STAY AWAY FROM THE FAN! It'll hurt you for 50HP if you touch it. To make it stop, push the metal block next to it so it falls into the fan and blocks it. Afterwards, jump into the small platform(be sure you don't fall down) and go through the door. Head northeast and turn southeast when you can. You'll find a bifurcation. Head northeast and go through the door. In the next room, pick up the Aquasol DX behind the boxes and then try to leave using the northwestern door. A cutscene takes place. Then, you may leave. Head to the left and go up the ladder. Head northwest all the way until you find a door. Go through it and inside this room, examine the computers. You'll be able to input a code. Input 0101 to de-activate the scanners(very important), 1111 for a Gold Bullion and 1001 for a Gold Nugget. It's not as easy as it sounds, so just goof around a bit. Basically, if you press 1, you'll make the first block on the top line to dissapear, thus making the block on the bottom line be worth 1. If there is a block above, the block below will be worth 0. Get the picture? No? Then, just goof around. After you've gotten your items, head back to the previous room and ride the northwestern conveyor belt. Get into it and head northeast. You'll see where the food you ate came from(ARGH! That was nasty...) Get into the leftmost platform and head northeast. Go through the door... Pick up the item to the right, and head southeast. Pick up the Gold Nugget and go through the door beyond the ramp, to the far southwest. In the next room, use the save point and go through the door. Activate the elevator and select to go up. ------------- KRELIAN'S LAB ------------- NOTE: This place is HUGE! Follow the path to the lab's center room. Take the northeastern door here, and follow the path to a bifurcation. The southeast path takes you to a computer and an Aqusol DX. Just head northeast until you find another bifurcation. Keep heading northeast and go through the door at the end of the hallway. You'll be in a rather interesting place, due to its layout. Head southwest until you find a switch: turn it on, and then go up the staircase to the left. Go through the door. Proceed southeast. Go through the door. In the next room, you can find the enemies inside the cages. If you open them, you'll have to fight them. If you beat them, you can get the item inside their cages. Anyway, go through the southwestern door. Follow the path until you find a door. Go through it. In this room, you can open some more cages and battle enemies, too. Do so and get their items. Again, go through the southwestern door. Head northwest and you'll find another bifurcation. Head southwest and open the purple door. Go through the first door you find then, and pick up the Extra Ar+6 inside. Head back outside, and head southwest, entering the rooms you find and getting the items inside. Head back to the bifurcation then, and proceed northwest. You'll find another purple door; it leads to some more rooms with items inside, it's up to you if you want them. Anyways, keep heading northwest and make a right when you can. Go through the first door you find. Get the Aquasol DX inside, and examine the computers to turn off the security lock. Head back outside and head northeast and go through the door there. In the next room, go up the staircase to the left and examine the orange door. It'll open up. Get both items in the chests and go through the beyond both chest. In the next room, head southeast. You'll come along a bifurcation: keep going southeast. Once you find a door, head through it. In this macabre room, go through the southeastern door, and then through another door once again. In this surgery room, grab the Aquasol DX and go through the southeastern door. SAVE POINT! *gasp* Save, of course. Return to the previous room and go through the northeastern door. In the next room, there are more cages. You can get some excellent items here, so be sure you open the cages. One of these guys are the "Bloody Bros", who are nothing but a boss fight! ------------------ BOSS: Bloody Bros. x 2 They'll use murder twice. After that, they become a walk in the park. Cast Renki and then Yamiga with Citan and use Hyper Deathblows that aren't Fire-based. ------------------ Now, head back to the room with the memory cube and keep going southeast through several doors until you reach a bifurcation. Go southwest and follow the path to another bifurcation. Turn southwest again until you find a door. Go through it and examine the panels here, the ones to the right. After the cutscene, pick up the Dark Helm in the west corner of the room and head back outside, to the bifurcation. This time around, go southeast and when you find a bifurcation, head northeast. Go through the door there, and in the next room, pick up the Dark Armor in the Southeasternmost corner of the room, and then leave. Head southeast this time around until you find a door. Go through it of course. In the next room, pick up the ammo for Billy. Now, head back to the first bifurcation you came across, and head northeast this time around. You'll find a door, a big door. Examine it and it'll tell you need to input a password. The password is: up, down, up, left, right. After that, go through the door and head southwest and in the bifurcation. You'll find a door as you proceed down the hallway; go through it. In this room, go up the green walkway, picking any item you find on your way, until you reach a door. Go through it, of course, and head northwest. Pick up the Extra Ar DX, and head southeast then, past the door you came from, until you find another door. Go through it. Go down the walkway and pick up the Extra Ar+6. Now, head back outside and head southeast until you find another door. Go down the walkway and pick up the Silver Ar+1. Head back to the main hallway, and proceed southeast until you find a bifurcation. Head southwest and go through the door. You can pick up the Sonic Wave inside this room. Head back outside, and keep going southeast. You'll find various splits on your way; if you take them you'll be able to pick up some nifty items. But, keep heading southeast until you reach the end of the hallway. When you do, head southwest until you find a bifurcation. Head southeast and go through the fdoor. Inside this room, there will be a scene. Pick up the Speed Ring S and head back to the bifurcation, but head southwest this time around until you find a door. Examine it and after the cutscene, head southeast in the bifurcation, and open the door. A cutscene takes place. When you take control of your party again(Fei, Bart and Billy), head southwest. You'll find a manhole; go down it. After the cutscene, go down the ladder and head southwest once again until you find a door. Go through it. In the next room, you can save and pick your party, using the blue memory cube. Hammer's also here, and he can sell you items. As for the party, I recommend Fei, Citan and Billy/Emeralda. Billy's got his healing spells, but I like Emeralda better. Is your choice though. After you're done, go through the southeasternmost door. -------------------- ESCAPE FROM SOLARIS! -------------------- Follow the path and go through the northwestern door you find. Follow the path to the northwest until you find yet another bifurcation. Go through the door to the northwest. In the next room, head southwest all the way until you find a door, at the end of the hallway. Go through it. Advance forwards a bit, and head southeast in the bifurcation. Go through the door. You'll appear on a + shaped bifurcation. Head south. The first door you come across leads to some ammo for Billy. Just ignore it and keep heading south until you find a door. Go through it. Proceed southwest in this tiny hallway until you find a door. Walk through it. Yet another bifurcation(geez!). Run southwest and follow the path until you find ANOTHER bifurcation. Head northwest this time around until you find yet another bifurcation. Head northwest until you reach yet another split(ARGH!). Head southeast this time around until you find another bifurcation( urge...to..kill...RISING!). Head southwest and follow the path until you find another bifurcation. Head southwest and go through the door. Keep going southwest until you find another bifurcation. Turn southeast. Then, go southwest until you find another bifurcation. To the southeast there is a save point, use it, and then head southwest(in the bifurcation). Follow the path to another bifurcation. To the northwest there is a survival tent. Bah. Head southeast, and follow the path to a door. Go through it. You'll find your party there. Buy any items, and equip yourself. Something big is coming. Your party should be Citan, Fei and Emeralda. Save, too, and head southwest into the hangar. More cutscenes(DAMN YOU HAMMER!). Yeah. ------------------ BOSS: Grahf, Executonier. The Executonier can kill you in one hit, and she also has a very powerful ether attack. Therefore, you must dispose of her quickly. Have all of your three characters use their Hyper Deathblows. With any luck, after you use all of your character's Hyper deathblows, Executonier will go down. Then, comes Grahf. His combos are really powerful, so therefore keep yourself healthy. Again, use your deathblows on him. After a while(not much) he'll bite the dust! ------------------ More LONG-ASS cutscenes. It's time to kiss the first disk goodbye. _.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-._ ------------------- DISK # 2 -------------------- _.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-.__.-'-'-._ ------------- TAURA'S HOUSE ------------- After the long-ass cutscenes(get used to this. This disk is filled with them), you'll regain control of your party(Fei sure likes to stare at the poor, naked Elly...) follow Taura into the next room. Yet another cutscene. Afterwards, head to the west and enter Taura's house once again. Save and go through the east door. After the cutscene, head outside Taura's place. You'll see more cutscenes. You will have to fighgt shortly afterwards. ------------------ BOSS: Vendetta. You'll begin this battle in System Id mode. Good! Blast the crap out of Ramsus with infinity attacks. There is not too much strategy involved here. ------------------ More cutscenes... you'll be asked to save. Do so. And then... ------------------ BOSS: Ft. Hurricane. Bah. Just kick its arse with your attacks. You have 99999 HP(yep, you read right) and you do 4000+ PTS of DMG per X attack. You will not die, but this guy has a lot of HP, so it may take a while. ------------------ After a bunch of cutscenes you'll be able to pick your party and open the menu. As far as party goes, I recommend Fei Citan and Emeralda ------------------ BOSS: Sufal Mass, Sufal x 4 Take out three of the Sufals, but let the fourth one alive the whole battle(or else the Sufal Mass will gain more power). For the sufal mass... It absorbs every element except Holy and Dark, meaning that your Hyper Deathblows won't do much damage. Therefore, you may want to use Yamiga( increments attack power) on your party members to increment the damage done by normal deathblows. Citan will kick big ass in this fight, as well as Fei. Emeralda will do a little less damage than both of the males, but she still helps out. ------------------ Mooooooooore cutscenes. Damn it... on your way, you'll have to pick your party. You know the drill... Citan, Fei, Billy/Emeralda, Emeralda being the most important. ------------- ANIMA RELIC 1 ------------- After you take control of your party, head to the right and talk with the Gear there. He'll upgrade your gears and let you buy items. Use the save point next to him, and head east. Pick up the Ether Guard, and then head north. You'll find a big structure, with a small hole on it. Guess what? Get out of your gears and go through the hole. In the next room, follow the path to a bifurcation. Head east and follow the path to another bifurcation. Head west and go through the door. You'll be inside a somewhat dark room. Head north and go through the door. Pick up the Wizardry Ring and examine the panel here, as well as the little panel that's spitting fire. Afterwards, head back to the bifurcation but head north instead of west. Go throughthe door there. Examine the south crate to find a FUSE. Now,head back to the room with the Wizardry Ring and examine again the panel that's spitting fire. Lights will come in once again. Examine the big panel here, and exit through the northmost door. Follow the path to a bifurcation(there seems to be a lot of these, uh?) Head southwest and follow the path to another bifurcation. Go south and through the door. Pick up the Zetasol DX and examine the black panel to the right(northeast). You'll have to input a password. Because you're lazy, this is the code: 0320. After you're done with this, check the west computer. Afterwards, exit the room. Go south and look for a door along the eastern wall. Go through it. You'll be on a big circular room. Make use of the save point here and head through the north door. Check the big panel here. Head back to the previous room and use the elevator in the middle of the room. Below, head west and check the the "mainframe"(not the one that looks like a regular panel, the one that looks like a box). Select Adress Code. You must give B, A, C and D different values. So, how do we do it? There are a myriad of panels in this room, each with a corresponding letter. The panel directly to northeast is B. Set it to 5. Head east afterwards and check the big panel there. This is C. Set it to 8. Head southwest and check the large panel. This is D. Set it to 4. Head west and check the panel next to the mainframe. This is A. Set it to 2. Now, check the mainframe and select "Release Lock". Tah dah! Head back to the elevator and ride it down. Below, go through the double doors to the east. Keep heading east and opening any door you find until you reach the Anima Relic. Examine the panel next to it for a cutscene. Afterwards, you'll have to battle! ------------------ BOSS: Kelvena, Seraphita, Tolone, Dominia. Kelvena asborbs water and is weak against Fire. Seraphita is weak against Water. Tolone kicks the bucket if hit by anything but wind attacks. Dominia absorbs all elements. Having that in mind, begin your assault on Kelvena. Have both Citan and Fei use their Fire Hyper Deathblows while Emeralda uses Fire Ether. Once Kelvena's out, kick Tolone's ass with anything you want(as long as it is an Hyper Deathblow) that's not water-based. Seraphit should be killed using Water Hyper Deathblows and Emeralda's ethers. For Dominia, cast Renki and Yamiga and use normal Deathblows. Citan will dish out the most damage, along with Fei. Emeralda will help quite a bit, too. ------------------ More cutscenes(Hmmm... Power Rangers...) ------------------ BOSS: G-Elements. Turn on your boosters and trigger System Id, and start kicking ass. Have Citan build up attack levels and use his deathblows(if he has a DEATHBLOWER 2, use level 2 deathblows. If he has a DEATHBLOWER 3, level 3 ones). Emeralda( if you have her) should concentrate on using Deathblows, too. Halfway through, this monster will start using Kishin Sword, which does 9000(!) PTS of DMG. When you see he starts doing this, finish it quickly. After the battle, you'll get the Kishin Sword. Save this item for later. ------------------ Cutscenes(This crap about "one's purpose", "have-nots" "my ass", "the weakness blah blah blah" is getting on my nerves). You'll have to pick your party on the way. Stick with the same party, that's my advice. ------------- ANIMA RELIC 2 ------------- There is a gear here who sells equipment, purchase some if you want to. Anyway, head north and push the big rock there away. Once you do, go through the door in the wall(get out of your gears to do so). In the next area, proceed forwards and check the middle pilar. Afterwards, check the walls in this room. Read carefully, and then, begin your exploration for the three stones. They're in this very same room, don't worry. The first stone is gotten by checking behind the pillars. It'll fall from the ceiling after a while. For the second stone, push the first stone behind the center pillar. Use the stone to jump into the pillar. While on the pillar, jump. The second stone will fall then. For the third stone, walk west from the stone behind the pillar and check dark string on the wall(looks like it was wet). When you do, the third stone falls. Now, push them into the holes at the north of this room. When you do, head back outside, get on your gears, and head east. If you want, you can jump down and get the treasures below(Aquasol DX and Ether Guard). I wouldn't do it, though. Instead, cross the canyon by jumping into the two platforms. Then, go through the door. You'll be in a underground lake. Jump into the southeasternmost "pathway" and proceed east. Once the paths thins-out, get out of your gears and keep going until you see a walkway going north. Follow it and go through the door. Head northeast and pick up the Survival Tent on your way. At the end of the path, go through the door. In this room, there are traps in the floor. If you hit them, you fall. If you fall, just head west and you'll appear next to the door that leads to the trap door. There are two chests in this trap-filled room. Before each chest, there are three ways to proceed: left, middle, right. One of these is a trap-floor. For the first chest, use the left path. Pick up the Rose Tabard in the chest. For the second chest, use the right path. And for the last "chest", use the leftmost path. Examine the statue here(it wasn't a chest, hehe). After reading the inscription, head a little west from the statue. As you fall, press against the eastern fall(push forwards, I believe). If done correctly, you'll arrive at a secret passage. Go through the door. Head forwards a bit, and the ceiling will start to fall. STAY IN THE CENTER OF THE PLATFORM! Wait the ceiling to fall, and you'll discover that it has no center, thus, it won't be able to hit you if you stay in the center! Now, jump into the ceiling and let it to take you up. Go through the door. This is a puzzle room! Woah! Yay! Whatever. Now, for this puzzle, you've got to get the water to level 5, or something along the lines. There are four buttons: two on both corners of the room. The one in the left corner has three marks, while the one on the right corner has seven. The other two buttons are in the floor. They leftmost one raises the water, and the rightmost lowers it. Now, for the solution: push the 7 marks button once. Then, push the rightmost button on the floor. You'll remove 7 water levels from the pond. Then, push the three marks button and push the leftmost button on the floor. Do this again. Push the 7 marks button, and then push the rightmost button on the floor. Lastly, push the 3 marks button and then, push the leftmost button on the floor. Keep in mind that even if you push the "marks" button, but you don't push the buttons on the floor, this won't work! Once you've completed the puzzle, a cinema takes place. Afterwards, jump into the water pond and go through the door. Head south. You'll find a bifurcation. Keep heading south and pick the Beastly Robe. Head back to the bifurcation but head west this time around. Push the rock. Now, head all the way back to the lake where your gears are. Get into them and jump into the drained lake. Pick up the items and go through the door. Save, and proceed north. Follow the path to a thin walkway. Get out of your gears and go through it. Then, go through the door. In the next area, advance east opening the doors you find until you find the Anima Relic. A cutscene takes place. ------------------ BOSS: Hammer. Yep, we've got to fight Hammer... he's.. hard, specially if you want the trader card. Basically, turn on your boosters, and activate System Id. Keep pounding hammer and have Emeralda and Citan save a few atttack levels(but have them use their deathblows, too). Once System Id wears off, you should've done 28000 PTS of DMG to Hammer. He'll start glowing red then. You must finish him FAST now! Activate System Id once again, and use Kishin, while your party members use the deathblows you've been saving. With any luck, you'll be able to kill him before he self-destructs. If he self-destructs, you won't get the trader card. The trader card allows you to get a very useful item, later in the game. I... didn't get it on the first try. But in the end, I got it =P(Fenrir hit Hyper Mode while I was battling). If you want to know what the trader card is beforehand, I'll tell ya(so you feel guilty for losing =P). It's an item that guarantees you'll get a RARE item after the battles. This doesn't sound like much now, but trust me, IT'S WORTH IT!. ------------------ More cutscenes. After them you'll end up in the Yggdrasil. SAVE and head to Elly's room. Talk with her, and more cutscenes take place. After Fei and Elly make love(you heard right my friend...) there will be more cutscenes, and then... ------------------ BOSS: Deus. Deus means "God" in latin... yep, we're fighting "God" himself!(not really) This battle is kinda easy though. Deus has this attack which halves your HP... but it also halves HIS HP. So, defend until Deus has 5000 HP(He's got 40000 HP, so wait him to halve his HP three times) and activate System Id, and kick his ass. Be sure you kill him in one hit, though, or else he'll heal. ------------------ More cutscenes... ------------------ BOSS: Alpha Weltall. Just let it kick your ass. You can't beat him :-( ------------------ Save when prompted and keep watching the cutscenes. ------- MERKAVA ------- Head to the right when you can and talk with the shopkeeper there. Upgrade your gears. Also, be sure to buy Ether Ars+3 and equip them, at least two per gear. Later on you can change them for whatever you want, but now, it is imperative to wear them. Make use of the Party Cube here to pick your preferred team(mine being, as usual, Citan, Fei and Emeralda) and save. Afterwards, head north. A cutscene ensues as usual. ------------------ BOSS: Amphysvena. Ramsus doesn't give up, does he? Anyway, he'll start off by using this attack which reduces your HP to 1. Immediately heal up, but don't heal your third character! Just heal Citan and Fei. If you heal the third character, Ramsus will use the HP-reducing attack once again! So, let's keep it that way. Start off by building attack levels with your characters and unleashing level 3 deathblows. I've heard that system id is not recommended, so I never tried. If any of your characters gets into Hyper Mode, us his/her best Infinity attack. ------------------ With not healing, you engage yet another boss battle. ------------------ BOSS: Opiomorph. If you equipped yourself with a pair of Ether Ars, you should have around 700+ Ether Def. Opio's attacks are nothing but ether-based, and they pack a punch, but with an Ether Defense that high, you've got nothing to worry about. So, basically, trigger System Id, build attack levels with your other characters and kick its ass. Be sure you have your boosters on, though. ------------------ Now comes a REALLY LONG-ASS cutscene. ARGH! That's all I can say. After it finally(*gasp*) finishes, save. Keep watching the following cutscenes(this is getting REALLY interesting =P) until you go insane. By that time, this should've ended and you'll be able to pick up your party. I recommend Citan, Maria and Emeralda. Properly outfit their gears, and continue with the game. More cutscenes. ------------------ BOSS: Id. He's easy! Basically, turn on your boosters and start attacking him and use your deathblows whenever it is possible. Just keep pounding and he'll go down in no time. ------------------ More cutscenes. You'll be able to save your game. Do so(you don't want to sit through that half-an-hour cutscene again, do you) and watch more cutscenes. You'll now have to fight Grahf! ------------------ BOSS: Grahf(True Weltall). Time to test out your Xenogears! If you check your stats to the right, you'll notice you have a chance of getting into hyper mode of 99%! So, attack him until you reach an attack level of 3. That's when you hit Hyper Mode(most likely). When you do, all that's left is to kick Grahf's sorry ass. ------------------ After the cutscenes, you'll appear in the Snowfield Hideout. Our main objective now is to destroy Deus! Before doing so, however, you may want to complete the sidequests, stock up items, level up, and fully upgrade your gears. As far as Gears go, I recommend you to outfit Xenogears and Fenrir with OMEGA100 engines, and Crescens with a X70 Engine. Buy also the ZALLOY 80/25 for the three of them. Lastly, equip Crescens with a GNRS50, and Fenrir and Xenogears with GNRS20. Because Fenrir and Xenogears will have low fuel, change their FRAME HPs for Z CHARGERS, which let you restore 500 fuel per "charge". All of these gear equipment, except the X70 ENGINE, can be bought at Joe's shop, at the Lighthouse. It's expensive, I admit it, so if you need money, head to Anima Relic 2 and fight until you get 40+ Scales and 20+ Ivory and exchange them for HUGE money at the blue sphere in Nortune's area map. Leveling up is not THAT necessary, although I recommend to get Fei to at least level 80, so you learn his ultimate deathblow. Once you're feeling ready, head to Deus! ---- DEUS ---- First, head north and you'll see a cutscene. Drop down the hole that opens in the floor. When you fall, you'll be able to check Deus' map. Anyway, head north and turn northeast when you can. Follow the path until you can turn north. Do so. Avoid the laser beam and continue until you reach another bifurcation. Head northeast, and when you can, head southeast. Head northeast at the bifurcation, avoiding the Laser Beam. You'll find yet another bifurcation. If you go southeast you'll find a save point. Head north to proceed with the game. Head north, then, and follow the winding path until you find a door. Go through it. In the next room, jump into the pit. As you fall down, you will have to dodge laser fences. It's quite easy, actually, and if you hit them, you don't take too much damage. Once the ride ends, you'll be on one of the most complicated areas of Deus. Head northeast, and a cutscene takes place. Head back to where you landed, and check the elevator there to go down. Once you do so, head south. You'll find another elevator. Use it to go up, and then, head southeast. You'll see another elevator. Instead of using it right now, jump on top the blue platform and examine the lever there. After the short cutscene, go down the elevator and head east. Once you find another elevator, use it to go up. Then, head north. You'll find another elevator. Use it to go down, and then, head northeast. You'll find an elevator. Instead of using it, once again, jump into the blue pillar and examine the light. After the cutscene, head back to where you hit the first switch(the lever) and go northwest. Once you reach another elevator, ignore it, and head southwest. When you arrive at the next elevator, ignore it once again, and head southeast, through the door. In the next room, proceed south. When you reach a bifurcation, head east. When you find another bifurcation, go south(if you go north you can get some Godson ammo for Renmazuo). After a little, you'll find another bifurcation. Proceed southwest, and when you find ANOTHER bifurcation, go south and through the door. Follow the path until you reach an elevator. Go up it. At the top, head east until you find another elevator. Ignore it for now, jump into the blue pillar, and examine the light. Jump back down, and head west. Go down the elevator. Head southwest, go up the elevator, and head south. Go down the elevator and head west. Go through the door. In the next room, head west and turn northwest. Once you reach another bifurcation, head north. Make your way to a door; go through it. Proceed southeast and follow the path to yet another elevator. Use it to go down, then go east. Jump down the pit, and do some laser-dodging on your way. After your travel ends, use the save point in this familiar-looking room. To the east there is a repair bot; use him. Then, head north into Deus' central core. After heading north quite a bit, you'll find a green hole. Select to jump down it. Deus. We've found him. Before tackling into him, you may want to fight the orbs around him. If you don't, Deus will be MUCH stronger and harder. Let's start with Harlute. ------------------ BOSS: Harlute(seals Deus' "Heavenly Anointment" ability). Have all of your characters kick this thing's ass with 30 Fuel attacks and level 1 deathblows. Both Fenrir and Xenogears will dish out the most damage, although Crescens will do good damage on her own. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Marlute(Seals Deus' "Fuel Drain" ability) It likes to steal your fuel, but if you have Tank Guards, don't worry. However, that doesn't keep it from using a nasty hit-all-party-members attack that does around 10000+ PTS of DMG. You can't use deathblows on it, too. Blast it with 30 fuel attacks. After a while, it'll go down. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Metatron(Seals Deus' "Earthly Antoinment" ability) This one is... kinda hard. It has good defense, plus it can hit everybody for about 4000+ PTS of DMG. Start off by using 30 fuel attacks, and kicking its ass with level 1 deathblows. With OMEGA100 engines on two of your party members, he will fall soon. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Sundel(Seals Deus' "Healing" ability) EASY! Your 30 fuel attacks do around 5000+ PTS of DMG on him, and he only has 25000 HP! So, just keep pounding. If he selects a target to counter, he'll attack that target after you attack him. He's still easy. ------------------ Now, for Deus! ------------------ BOSS: Deus. THIS GUY IS FREAKIN' EASY!!!1111 Ok, enough. Start off by using 30 fuel attacks. Once you reach attack level 1, unleash deathblows on him. His "angels" will sometimes counter for him, and they do good damage, but don't worry. Just keep attacking. After a little, he'll go down. ------------------ It's not over yet. ------------------ BOSS: Uroborous. Bah. Keep pounding at her until Xeno reaches infinity. Then, unleash your infinity attacks. After a little, this thing will go down. Oh, and you start this battle with full-health and fuel. And you're with Xeno alone. ------------------ SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE ENDING!!!!!!!!! ############################################################################### 7.ARMOR ############################################################################### NOTE: I'm aware that I missed some equipment throughout the game, but I cannot help it. Here, you can purchase equipment, items and some other stuff. There is also this guy who will sell you some birds for 20000 Gold. If you buy them, the bird will fly away and you'll lose _20000 Gold_, something you can't afford to do right now. If you head southeast, you'll find this man who sells items. Go through the door behind the counter and proceed north. Jump down the hole. Below, head west and talk with the man there. Unequip Citan's Kishin Sword from Fenrir, and he'll upgrade it to you. Once you do this, return to the area's main room. Remember the guy I told ya who sold birds for 20000 Gold... buy them. Yeah, you heard right. The birds are standing on an elevator, and if they don't go away, you won't be able to use it. When the birds fly away, use the elevator and head up. You'll appear in the Chu Chu shop, now empty. Check the display cases to get: Vivid Turban, Speed Shoes(!), Hero Costume, Hercules Ring, Yamato Belt and Wizardry Ring. This is pretty much everything you can do here. Other things include pointless cutscenes and a load of talking. Be sure you "bookmark" the shops here, as they're the best you've come across, most likely. TAURA'S HOUSE ------------- This place is northeast from the snowfield hideout. Inside, talk with Taura in the nanoreactor room and he'll lend over these items: Mainly Mantle and Goddess Robe. And that's it, everything you can do here! However, if you fight outside Taura's place, you may find a "Slugger". This enemy will drop Speed Shoes if you're equipped with a Trader Card. Speed Shoes make your characters TWICE as faster during battles, making them able to kick ass. Slugger's only appear on the forest. DUNEMAN'S ISLE -------------- NOTE: If you find a dragon in this place, RUN, unless you're equipped with your Speed Shoes and have around +500 HP. The dragon uses a nasty attack which does around +500 PTS of DMG to each character. It(the dragon) also absorbes all elements except Light and Dark. Basically, have your characters use their strongest normal deathblows, and Fei use his Light/Dark Hyper Deathblows. If you beat him, you'll get a nice chunk of EXP. Also, he drops some nice items, like the Mumyo Sword, Citan's strongest weapon. However, these items are rare, so be sure you've got your Trader Card equipped. This place is to the west of Bart's Hideout. Proceed east three screens, and then head north once. A cutscene takes place. Sand Sharks will pass by. Don't follow them to the west, and head north. You will find a huge skeleton. Jump into it and follow the "bone path" until you find a sword. Examine it. Select to draw it to get the Yamato Sword, a very powerful sword. Now, head back to the previous screen, and follow the sand sharks to the west. A cutscene takes place. Now, as the sand takes you down, you will see two chests. You can only pick one, though. The leftmost contains a Kingly Armor, and the rightmost a Godfather for Billy's(his strongest gun). I'd pick the Kingly Armor, since we're using Emeralda(I hope). You can pick the Godfather if you make another trip. After the cutscene, you'll have to fight a Wyrm. Beat it and head west. You will find a duneman. Talk with him and help him out. He'll take you out of this place if you do. LIGHTHOUSE ---------- NOTE: Be sure you have Emeralda in your party before coming here. It is north from the Babel Tower. Once inside, head north and go through the big doors. After you go down the elevator, head south and pick up the Deathblower 3. Next, head east, and then south, and then east once again. Get the Deathblower2, and head back west. Proceed north and when Fei says something, get out of your gears and go through the alley between the two buildings to the east. Pick up the G-Godfather. The big building right next to the alley can be entered. Do so. Inside, go upstairs. Check the northeasternmost panel. After the cutscene, head back outside and get into your gears. Advance north and enter the building(gear-less) in the middle of the bifurcation. Inside, go upstairs and get the Deathblower1. Now, head back outside, and head east. Enter the first building you find. Here, Big Joe lives. He's surrounded by some chests you should open. Once you do, talk with Big Joe. He sells the best gear equipment in the game. Be sure you buy some if you have the money. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// A little bit of information... Big Joe's engine's have 80-90-100 output... you heard right, they're insanely powerful. However, each of them only carry around 1500-1000 Fuel. This is not exactly a problem, since you won't need so much fuel with an output that high. However, it may trouble you as far as healing goes. If you want my advice, go ahead and buy the damn thing(OMEGA100). You'll do INSANE damage, I guarantee it. He also sells what's probably the best armor in the game: ZAlloy 80/30, which grants 800 Ar + 30 Ether ar! Sweet deal uh? He also sells Z Gold 100, which grants 1000(!) Ar, but no Ether ar. I'd recommend the ZAlloy 80/30, because it's much more useful, but it's your decision. This stuff is really, really expensive, so you may want to upgrade the gears you're using(Fenrir, Crescens(or whatever else) and Xenogears) exclusively. Be sure you "bookmark" Big Joe's shop until you get all of your equipment. Then just forget about it. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Head back outside, head east and turn south when you can. Once you reach a dead end, head southwest a little to find a crack on the floor. Get outta your gears, jump into it, and head northwest into the next screen. Then, head west until you reach a train station. Get into the empty train and pick up the Z-Charger. Afterwards, go up the stairs. Head east, and when you can, turn south. Watch the cutscene. After it, Emeralda becomes an adult! Now, leave this place =)(no, really, leave it). ############################################################################### 13.GEARS/CHARACTERS/ABILITIES ############################################################################### ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------CHARACTERS------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FEI *** The game's main character. He's from Lahan, and is apparently a normal guy, but as story progresses, you'll learn the dark truth behind Fei, and his past. As the game's main character, he's a good fighter. He has high HP, although not as high as Citan's, with good attack power. He also has the highest number of deathblows in the game, and his "Yamikei" is probably the strongest. --->DEATHBLOWS RAIJIN Sequence: T, X Learned: Level 6 SENRETSU Sequence: T, T, X Learned: Level 10 HAGAN Sequence: S, X Learned: Level 16 HOTEN Sequence: T, T, T, X Learned: Level 22 TENBU Sequence: T, S, X Learned: Level 30 RYUJIN Sequence: S, T, X Learned: Level 38 KOHO Sequence: X, X Learned: Level 40 FUKEI Sequence: T, T, T, T, X Learned: Any level. At first, it seems he's just one of Fei's best friends, but as the game's about to finish, you'll learn what's his true purpose. As a character, Citan's the best. He has the highest HP in the whole game(at level five he has around 200+). His attack power is simply the highest, and once he gets to use his sword, he becomes the most powerful character in the game, for sure. His deathblows are extremely powerful, too. Always have him in your party. Always. --->DEATHBLOWS >>>NOTE<<< Once Citan gets to use his Katana, the deathblow's name will change. At first, Elly dislikes Fei for being a Lamb, but as the game progresses, she learns to like him... to love him. Elly is an average character. You'll use her quite a little, but after you get the likes of Billy and Emeralda, you'll forget about her. Her main strength are ether-based attacks, and that's her main problem actually, because her ether attacks are really weak and useless most of the time. Her defense is extremely low, as well as her attack, although her deathblows are really damaging. --->DEATHBLOWS SCREAMER Sequence: T, X Learned: Level 6 CYCLON KICK Sequence: T, T, X Learned: Level 10 BREAKTHROUGH Sequence: S, X Learned: Level 16 DOUBLE SHOCK Sequence: T, T, T, X Learned: Level 22 SKY ATTACK Sequence: T, S, X Learned: Level 30 BRIGHT SPARK Sequence: S, T, X Learned: Level 38 STING KICK Sequence: X, X Learned: Level 40 ANEMO ZAP Sequence: T, T, T, T, X Learned: Any level. He's somewhat slow, and kinda powerful, but doesn't hold a candle to Fei or Citan, or even Billy/Emeralda. His special techniques suck and are completely useless. Nobody has beaten him in three years, and is respected by everyone. Rico is an awful character, to say the least. He's extremely slow and very weak to ether attacks. However, he has a big defense, big Hit Points and great strength. Like I said, I think he's awful, but I guess that if you outfit him properly, speed won't really matter. Billy is one of the best characters in the game, and I recommend using him until you get Emeralda. Although you have to buy bullet for his guns, they're cheap and easily found. He does a lot of damage with his weapons, and his deathblows are simply the best, as far as animations go. Also, his healing spells are awesome, specially Holy Light, as it targets all party members. --->DEATHBLOWS ADAM'S APPLE Sequence: T, X Learned: Begins with GUNHOLIC Sequence: T, T, X Learned: Begins with HELLBLAST Sequence: S, X Learned: Begins with NUTCRACK Sequence: T, T, T, X Learned: Begins with SKY WALKER Sequence: T, S, X Learned: Level 30 DEVIL BLAST Sequence: S, T, X Learned: Level 38 BANFRAU Sequence: X, X Learned: Level 40 TRUE DREAM Sequence: T, T, T, T, X Learned: Any level. She'll use her gear, Seibzehn, if necessary. Now, Maria sucks. Really, really sucks. Her attack level is _low_, meaning she can only deal around 1-5 PTS of DMG to enemies with defense somewhat high. Also, she doesn't have ANY DEATHBLOWs, and her "controls"(spells) are extremely unuseful. Emeralda was created using the latest technology of the Zeboim era, and is later found by Krelian. She has a nanomachine colony on her body, meaning that she can take different shapes and forms. She is my favorite character, although she's not as strong as Citan. However, she's on par with Fei, strength-wise. Her attacks do a lot of damage. So do her deathblows. However, her defense is not exactly high, same goes with HP, meaning she can't take too much damage. Weltall is an average gear, surpassed by many other gears, although he's not too bad. Weltall, on the other hand, is simply awesome. He has many special options, System Id being the best. And Xenogears is simply the best gear in the game. Heimdal is a little stronger than Weltall, and is a great gear, in my opinion. Once you upgrade him to Fenrir, he becomes much stronger, since he wields an Sword and has a very high output(unless you change his equipment). A properly equipped Fenrir can deal some big punishment to enemies quite easily. --->DEATHBLOWS KENTSUI Attack Lv: 1 Sequence: T, T Fuel cost: 40 REPPU Attack Lv: 1 Sequence: T, S Fuel cost: 50 RYUKAGE(requires DEATHBLOWER 1) Attack Lv: 1 Sequence: T, X Fuel cost: 10 SHINRAI Attack Lv: 2 Sequence: S, T Fuel cost: 70 FUJIN Attack Lv: 2 Sequence: S, S Fuel cost: 80 RYUGA(Requires DEATHBLOWER 2) Attack Lv: 2 Sequence: S, X Fuel cost: 20 HAKAI Attack Lv: 3 Sequence: X, T Fuel cost: 100 TENJIN Attack Lv: 3 Sequence: X, S Fuel cost: 110 TENSHO(Requires DEATHBLOWER 3) Attack Lv: 3 Sequence: X, X Fuel cost: 30 OSHIBA Attack Lv: Infinity mode Sequence: T Fuel cost: 10 SENRETSU Attack Lv: Infinity mode Sequence: S Fuel cost: 20 ENKEN Attack Lv: Infinity mode Sequence: X Fuel cost: 30 --->SPECIAL OPTIONS N/A ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BRIGANDIER/ANDVARI ****************** Bart's gears. Brigandier is awful, really weak. It has little output(even with a good engine he does little damage, mainly because of his weak weapons) and although he has weapons(whips), he doesn't do a lot of damage(low output, overall). He also tends to miss sometimes, and is slow. Brigandier's Wild Smile ability proves to be invaluable sometimes, though. Andvari is gotten really early, and when you get him, he's really powerful and useful. As time passes, he'll become weaker compared to the other gears, though. --->DEATHBLOWS CHAIN WHIP Attack Lv: 1 Sequence: T, T Fuel cost: 40 BEAT SERPENT Attack Lv: 1 Sequence: T, S Fuel cost: 50 SPARK WAVE(requires DEATHBLOWER 1) Attack Lv: 1 Sequence: T, X Fuel cost: 10 BLOOD WHIP Attack Lv: 2 Sequence: S, T Fuel cost: 70 HIT STORM Attack Lv: 2 Sequence: S, S Fuel cost: 80 DEAD CANNON(Requires DEATHBLOWER 2) Attack Lv: 2 Sequence: S, X Fuel cost: 20 DANCE WAVE Attack Lv: 3 Sequence: X, T Fuel cost: 100 TWIN SNAKE Attack Lv: 3 Sequence: X, S Fuel cost: 110 SKY DRIVE(Requires DEATHBLOWER 3) Attack Lv: 3 Sequence: X, X Fuel cost: 30 METEOR FALL Attack Lv: Infinity mode Sequence: T Fuel cost: 10 DEAD DANCE Attack Lv: Infinity mode Sequence: S Fuel cost: 20 SOUL END Attack Lv: Infinity mode Sequence: X Fuel cost: 30 --->SPECIAL OPTIONS YGGDRASIL D. She has low HP and a low output overall(doesn't matter what you equip, really). However, her ether attacks do a lot of damage if used against the right enemies. Her Aerods are weak, but if you equip Elly with an Ether Doubler, and Vierge with 2 power magics, then Vierge's Aerods start doing INSANE damage. That's its main problem, actually: Rico is so damn unuseful, that you'll use Stier and Omni-Stier rarely. Too bad, since Stier's a great gear: it has an extremely high HP, output and defense. It can deal big damage painlessly, and it can eat a lot of hits before going down. And that's its main problem: Maria sucks so much you'll probably won't use Seib' unless it is really needed/mandatory. Like I said, Seibzehn is great. It has the highest HP in the whole game(his max. HP is _38000_), and a great defense. Seib' also comes with all of his deathblows learned, and they pack a huge punch too.
