Hardcore RPG fans loved it, because of it's simple yet lovely/intriguing promise and innovative battle system, based off it's prequel, Tales of Phantasia. I got it recently and I agree that's an excellent game, and that any RPG fan should track down a copy of it immediately! ############################################################################## ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ GAME OVERVIEW ______________________________________________________________________________ ############################################################################## ________ CONTROLS ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ X: Cancel/Run/Use special skill Circle: Accept/Talk/Examine/Attack Square: Nothing/Defend Triangle: Acess menu/Access actions menu Start: Pause game Select: Acccess menu D-Pad: Move/Use special skill(along with the X button) R1/R2: Nothing L1/L2: Nothing Sticks: Nothing ________________ GENERAL OVERVIEW ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Tales of Destiny is your typical RPG game. Basically, you go around from town to town, talking with people to obtain clues about the game's plot. Eventually, you will have to access a dungeon. These dungeons are long mazes with branching paths, secrets and tons of treasures to be found. Most dungeons are far from linear, and normally lead to a new area or to a new, important item. ToD's battle system is much different than any other RPG, though. Here, you have near-full control of your characters. You can issue them commands and control them via a handy menu. You, however, have full control over the game's main character, Stahn. You can move him around the battlefield, do skills with simple button presses, as well as attacking as defending. This is what makes ToD truly unique. _______________________ GENERAL BATTLE OVERVIEW ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Like stated above, battles here are much different than any other RPG. You have full control over your party member Stahn(main character), while you have partial control of your other party members. To control Stahn, use the d-pad to move him around the battlefield, while tapping the circle button to slash your enemy. Once you learn special skills, you can set them up so they're performed by a combination of two buttons. These special skills are deadly and very useful. You can also defend. Now, to control your other party members, hit triangle to access a handy menu. You can issue your friends commands over here. ___________ BATTLE MENU ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ The battle menu has a handful of choices for you to take. You could issue a direct command to your party member, like using a special skill or a spell. You could also have him her use an item. Lastly, we have some deeper choices. These will let us customize your members AI, so they behave in a certain way, use certain attacks with certain frequency, and so on. Basically, they let us control their minds =) Use this menu wisely. _______________ SPECIAL ATTACKS ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Everybody learns their skills at a certain level and can be used through the battle menu. Stahn, on the other hand, it's a bit different. His skills must be set to a d-pad direction through the special menu on the main menu(press triangle on the map). To use the skill on the battle, press the X button along with the assigned d-pad direction to perform it. You have four slots of d-pad directions you can use to set your skills, so be sure you choose your skills wisely. _________ DEFENDING ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Only Stahn can do such a thing, and it's mainly useless, albeit un-obvious. As long as Stahn is equipped with a shield, you can hit the Square button in order to raise it and protect him against attacks. This doesn't nullify them, though. It decreases the damage taken, by a great percentage, although great timing is neeeded. ____ LENS ŻŻŻŻ As you battle, you'll be earning lens, which are basically portions of energy enclosed in circle-shaped... uhh.. things. That's what one understands, but I'm sure I'm wrong. At least it sounds catchy ;) Anyway, you earn the lens after each battle, in certain amounts. The purpose of this lens is, at first, unclear, but as you progress through the game you'll find Lens Outlets where you can sell your lens. Each city with outlets has a different rate-per-len, so In some cities you may get more money off your lens than in others! The best one, In my opinion, is Darilshied. Sell off your lens there whenever possible. _________________ OF FOOD AND PACKS ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ You start off with an small food pack that can carry a small amount of food, doh. As you progress, you'll find bigger packs. Anyway, to fill up these food packs, you'll need to buy various food items and then use them in the menu in order to add them to your pack. Each food has a different food pack value, so some food items may fill up your smallest pack completely! As long as you have food IN YOUR PACK, you'll heal HP at each step you take. This will obviously decrease your food pack value, although it's well worth it. ___________________ SWORDIANS AND DISCS ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Your Swordians are sentient weapons which are obtained throughout the game. Most of the main characters start with them, although some must find them. Swordians earn stats as they fight(they level up) and having one equipped is the only way you have to cast a recntly learned spell. Once you are able to equip an Swordian, you'll be also able to equip DISCs, which are put into the disc slot in the menu. They increase your stats and let you learn new skills. _____________ VALUABLE TIPS ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Being the good RPG it is, talk to everybody you can. Everybody. They always tell very useful tips and info about where to go next. Also, be sure you're always equipped with the latest equipment, as it will certainly help. Be sure you do level a lot, too. Leveling a lot will not only increase your stats, but you'll also learn new spells(as long as you have a swordian) and skills. Lastly, be sure you have tons of healing items in your inventory. ############################################################################## ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ FAQ ______________________________________________________________________________ ############################################################################## 1) Is this game hard to get? -Here, it is, and it's extremely hard. I'd assume that it'd also be hard to get around the U.S., but I wouldn't know... 2) How long it is? -It took me 48 Hours to complete by typing/doing sidequests. I think that with this guide, you'll breeze through it in 30 Hours, tops. 3) Is there any way to control my other characters? -You can have somebody else control them(the second character in the row) by using a Channeling. You know, like in a multiplayer game. If YOU want to control your character, I'm afraid I'd be no help. Check ErgGibbon's FAQ for further info. 4) Where is ___________ ? -Check the lists first. Mostly everything there is listed in the walkthrough. Use CTRL + F for eaiser navigation. 5) What's the Helraios password? -FATE, although if you input GIFT first you'll earn a Laser Blade. 6) HOW DO I GET THE BC ROD IN THE TOWER OF DRUAGA!? -This is pretty hard, and I had to do the tower twice because a messed up =) Basically, in floor 58, try this: try to open the door without the key, then blast every wall in the floor. Afterward, do a lap from the northern side of the room, to the southern. Lastly, kill a red knight. The Rod should appear. If not, kill a Quox. It's not 100% accurate, but it worked for me. 7) How do the crystals work in the crystal maze!? -I actually had a bit of trouble here. It's simple, actually. If you have to make a crystal point north, have it point upward, south, point it downward. If you've been paying attention to school, you should know which one is east, west, south, etc. However, the problem comes in with the blue crystal, as it must be pointing "UP", not NORTH. To make the crystal point up, have it point the center of the pattern in the floor( so the center symbol lights up). 8) How come this game is so easy!? -I dunno =) I think it's got a fair... ok, ok, it's easy. But let's not complain, because we don't want it to be a Shinobi, do we? ;) Try to elaborate various challenges so you can make it harder(no armor, low level, etc) 9) What's the bes party? -I've learned by some fellow writers that it's better not to suggest parties, that we should let everybody select whatever they want. I tried to keep suggestions as thin as possible here, and I proved strategies for bosses with all party members. Anyway, I used Garr, Rutee, Stahn and Bruiser to finish the game, but it's about what you like. Many people prefer Philia over Bruiser, it seems. 10) If I missed the rod at Cloudius, can I get it back? -Nooohhhh... sorry, you're screwed. 11) What about the pedestal there? -Sorry... 12) How do these pedestal work anyway? -Basically, you and Dymlos must be at certain levels and have certain skills before being able to read them. Once you're able to read, you'll be asked two questions about your skills. Answer them correctly to receive a new skill, labeled as "Sacred Skill". 1)There is a dancing goat in my bathroom -Suicide seems to be your only option. ############################################################################## ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ WALKTHROUGH ______________________________________________________________________________ ############################################################################## ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ THE SHIP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Watch the long and rather uninteresting cutscene. Once it finishes, head down the staircase and head left. Head through the door and go left. Go up the ladder and through the door. In the next area, wait for the monsters to kill the guard and run to the far right until Stahn notes the path blocked. Then, you'll have to clean it, of course. Move the crates away by pressing circle in front of them. Continue heading right and go down the staircase. In the next area, run down the long hallway and go through the first door you find. You'll be on the dark storeroom. Stahn notes that there is something shining over here. First off, walk off to the right and then head all the way up. Take a left when you can and follow the path to a staircase. Go down it, turn left and then go up. As you approach the shiny thing, you'll see a cutscene. You'll soon learn its true nature: it's a Swordian. After getting Dymlos, you'll have to fight a monster. Smash him down with your sword: he's easy. After this, head out of the storeroom and head to the left. Go up, past the dead body(fight the bat flying around if you want) and head through the door. It's one of those dark rooms again. Get the Green Gel on the top right corner of the room, and head out. Head back to the previous area and go up the stairs. Stroll past the monsters if you want to. Head left and and go up when you can(before the entrance to the captain's room). Go around the corner and enter the first room you find. Kill both groups of monsters and pick up the Melange Gel, F. Bottle, Spectacles and Green Gel from the chests. Head back to the hallway, and head right. Go down, left, down the stairs and left, into the deck. Fight off all the monsters and go down the ladder and through the door to the right. Go up the stairs and into where all of this started. Watch as a monster slaughters a guard and you'll have to them. Just kick their sorry asses. A cutscene takes place. After it, you'll end up in somebody else's house(classic RPG cliche) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PHANDARIA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After Garr explains it all, check out the treasure chest on the right side of the kitchen for a Life Bottle. Head past Alba and run to the right, into the room where Stahn was. Pick up the Wood Shield and Auto Bow from the chests. There is also a Green Gel inside the room next to the bathroom. Once you've gotten all of the items, head outside and make use of the save point. Then, head to the left and go up the path, to the back of the mountain. Head forward toward a split. You can go up or down here. First, go up and turn left when you first can. Pick up the item from the treasure chest and proceed left until you reach a dead end. When you do, head up and then right. A cutscene will take place here: you’ve found Chelsea! Anyway, after this, Chelsea will join your party. There is nothing of further interest here in the mountains, so head back to Garr’s house. As you arrive, Alba greets you. Chelsea doesn’t quite like the fact here Grandaddy needs her for fixing his pants, so she starts trashtalking. After the cutscenes, you’ll be able to leave this area through the southern exit. Outside, we must head toward Janos. Before we do, it’s highly recommendable to level up with Stahn, at least until he’s level 3. You can restore your health inside Alba’s house without paying any kind of money, so don’t worry. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TOWARD JANOS! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow the path down and turn right. Past the tree you’ll come right into a split-up. Head south first and follow the path until you arrive at a pretty big area. You’ll see you can go south or head further to the left. Proceed left first and snag the Life Bottle hidden behind the trees. Then, go south and then left all the way. You’ll see a road heading south. Ignore the first one you find and take the second one. Make good use of the save point. Level up Stahn as much as you can(level 4) and enter the town by heading west from the save point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ JANOS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you arrive at Janos, the party has a short talk. After it, you’ll be able to control Stahn once again. Start off by heading up and entering the big house there. It’s the equipment shop BLIZZARD. They sell some good pieces of equipment for cheap. Be a Leather Armor or something. Anyway, head back outside and proceed west. Go past the One Million Roses Tavern, and when you find the inn, go past it head north along the road. You’ll soon learn that in order to get outta here you’ll need some stuff. Head toward the inn, and get inside. Ignore the innkeeper and go up the staircase behind him. Then, head to the east into a small resting room with some people on it. Talk with the Middle-Aged man by the couch and he’ll tell you he’s looking for his passport. After talking with him, head outside, and walk south from the inn. Enter the big house with a tree in front of it. The man inside will say he’s got a passport. Head all the way back to the inn and talk with the middle-aged man to let him know about his passport. Once you he leaves, try to get out of the inn. Dymlos talks with Stahn a little bit more, about his kind attitude toward the old guy. According to Dymlos, it’d have been better to steal the passport and get the hell outta the town. Stahn disagrees. After all, it was a passport for Phandaria. After Dymlos gets over it, Stahn exits the inn and bumps into a red haired chick. Why, it is our typical nameless RPG character! She then reveals her name, Mary. Stahn, being the typical RPG hero he is, decides to help her. Goddamn it. After Mary joins your party, it would be wise if you purchased some equipment for her, as well some healing items(the item shop is south of the town’s eastern entrance). After you’re all-set, leave town through the east. Once in the snow path, head right and go up. Head east all the way until you can go up. Do so. Mary tells you to go left and through a secret path inbetween the trees. Follow her advice, head left. The secret path is between the trees and ledge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SNOW TEMPLE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mary points out that this is the correct place. You can go a little to the south to find a Save Point, or you could head immediately left. The correct way is to the left, but save first. Then, head left. You’ll come to a split-up. You could proceed further to the left or head south. Go south and head right. Ignore the steps going down and get the saber from the chest. Then, go down the steps and get the Channeling to the left. Head back to the split-up, and head left this time around. Go up the steps and examine the shiny stone at the top. Once you do, a secret door opens. Go through it. In the next area, head north a bit. You'll come across another split-up. You can continue north or head to the left. North there is nothing, so instead, proceed to the left. Pick up the Leather Helm on the small alcove, and then head south into the next area( this place reminds me of Tales of Phantasia for the SNES). Go south until you can take a left. When you do, you'll notice that there is a doorway heading further south. First, head left into a pretty big area with some pipe-like structures on it. Walk down a bit until you see a hallway to the left. Proceed through it until you find a door. Go through it and pick up the Rapier inside. Then, head back to the room with the pipe things and head all the way up, into the "altar room". Once you get near the flying prism, Mary identifies the lazy bum inside as Rutee, her friend. To free her, they try to push some random stuff around and poor Stahn is caught by one of those sexy prisms. Yeah. Stahn and Rutee then argue about some random and nonsensical stuff, until Mary decides to liberate Stahn. Both push the right buttons and free Rutee from her prison. Stahn and Rutee argue some more, and suddenly three soldiers pop out of nowhere. Good stuff. Guess what we'll need to do? ------------------ BOSS: Soldier x 3 Ok, this is rather easy. Wait for one of the soldiers to approach and hit him with Kick Attack. Hit T in order to access the commands menu and have Mary use Beast Blade on another soldier. Finish off both soldiers with Stahn and then take care of the last one with Fireballs or normal attacks. ------------------ After the battle, both Rutee and Mary ask Stahn to come with them to Janos. Um, I smell a threesome coming... er, anyway. From the altar room, head all the way south and go through the door at the bottom. Outside, go through the bridge and use the save point there. Proceed south into the next screen. Go south some more until you can take a left. Head all the way left until you see a path going up, and a path going down. Take the one going down and you'll end up in Janos again. The party decides to look a place a little more paceful. No better place than a noisy, drunk-bastard filled tavern! These guys are crazy, I tell ya. Once they sit down, you'll be asked a question. Answer whatever you want to keep the yappin' going on. Rutee then reveals her Swordian, Atwight. More stuff occurs, and after all of it, you'll awake at the inn. Have Rutee explain you what Lens are. After she tells you nothing, you'll be controlling your party. We're heading toward Harmentz. Before we do so, buy some stuff for your party(Gels) and equipment for Rutee. Once you're ready, leave town through the north exit. In the snow field, run straight up and you'll end up in the World Map. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WORLD MAP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Save if needed, and get out of the snow area. Cross the bridge north, and head west, through the mountains, to find Harmentz. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HARMENTZ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you arrive, the group talks for a bit. Once they finish, you'll be able to explore the town. For now, head north. You'll find the inn; ignore it for now, since it's full, and proceed east. The bunny Guy there will offer you a treasure. TELL HIM NO! If you pick up the treasure, you'll have to fold over 1883 Gald in order for him to forgive you. Instead, go up the raised area and into the big mansion. Inside, head to the right. A bodyguard stops you. Stahn tries to prove his worth and ends up getting his sorry, skinny ass kicked so hard he kisses the floor. Rutee clarifies everything to the bodyguard, and you'll be able to go upstairs. Do so, and go south into a big hallway. Head to the left and go through the door there. You'll immediately see another door. Go through it and talk with the old man sitting on a couch. Rutee hands over the Old Cane and Walt gives her 5000 Gald. Rutee is not happy with just 5000 Gald so decides to steal another 5 grand. Walt is not happy, of course. He was being nice with good old Rutee! Anyway, after the mess, head out Walt's mansion and head into the inn. Talk with the innkeeper. He tells you it's all booked up, but Rutee tells him they've got a reservation. Next morning Rutee tells you that our next destination is Armedia Village. Somebody wants some swordmanship lessons, and Stahn is da man for this. Accept the offer and step out of the inn. On your way, you'll find a group of soldiers bothering the innkeeper. They're looking for us! After a little chat with the soldiers, the party swings their legs out of there, only to find themselves surrounded by a huge group of guards. Time to fight! ------------------ BOSS: Soldier x 8 There are four soldiers on each side. Take care of one group first by using Stahn's Kick Attack and Rutte's Ice Needle(if you don't have it, leave her alone) as well as Mary's Beast Blade. If you don't kill them immediately, finish them with Stahn normal attack. Then, move over to the next group and repeat. ------------------ After you kick some soldier ass, Leon comes in. He tells you that you're in deep, flying crap. And then he decides to fight you! ------------------ BOSS: Leon. Impossible to beat. Just wait for him to kick your ass. ------------------ Leon's swordian, Chaltier, salutes you after the ass-kicking. And then, you'll be in... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DARILSHIED ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A prison. How fun. Examine your cell's door for a cutscene. Then, approach your bed. A cutscene takes place and you'll be taken to see the king. The story unfolds and you'll be free after talking with the king. You'll still be inside the castle, you see. First off, let's explore some of the castle. First, step out of the king room. Outside, go down and then right. Enter the room there and pick up the orange gel. Then, go north from the king's room and take a left. Go through the door there, into the armory. Inside, open up all of the chests. Some are empty, but you'll find a Leather Cape and a Club in two of them. Head out of the armory, and head to the far right. Enter the room a little before the staircases going down. Inside, pick get Panacea Bottle, Life Bottle, Orange Gel and Green Gel x 2. Step out of this room and head to the left again, but go upstairs this time around. In the next area, go down and through the doorway and run to the right. Go up the stairs, and then, head left and up when you can into the library. Get the Orange Gel inside. Now, head back to the area where the entrance to the king's room is, and step inside the armory once again. Examine the chests again, and you'll find a Round Shield as well as a Chain Mail. Head outside again, and run south to exit the castle. Outside, head further south. You'll be on the city. It's better to visit Hugo first, before starting our exploration. Go down a bit and take the first right you can. Head towards the stone wall and then go down. Go in front of the mansion and get inside it. When you do, Leon starts calling for Marian. The group finds Rembrandt, and Leon asks for Marian... but then he remembers they're looking for Hugo! More talking ensues and you'll be taken to see Leon. More cutscenes ensue, as usual. After them, you'll be able to explore the mansion. Forget it(nothing worth the look) and get out of Hugo's mansion. It's time to go shopping! I suggest buying a couple of Life Bottles just for kicks, as well as some Chain Mails(three), Lether Gloves(four), a Round Shield(for Mary). Now, we must head out of this town and head to the Straylize Temple. You could head for Armedia(northwest). I'd go there because it's a bit easier to head to Straylize from there. While on Armedia, be sure you gain a few levels. Level 8-9 would be fine(these enemies give out little EXP). When you're ready, head out Armedia and head east. Once you find a bridge, pass it and head into the woods. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ STRAYLIZE WOODS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head north and take the first right you can. Proceed onwards and you'll soon find a pedestal. Examine it for a cutscene. After it finishes, check the small group of white mushrooms to get a savory. From the pedestal, head left and then north when you can. You'll soon see the path branches to the right. Head right, of course, past the little river, until you can't go right anymore. Go north then, along the rocky path and turn left when you can. After a while you'll come to a branch. You could head further left, or go north. If go left and then down, you'll find a Green Gel. Head back to the branch and go all the way north until you reach a cliff with a pretty green floor! When you do, steer to the left into a peak, and get the Green Gel. Now, return to the cliff area and head right this time around. Go up north and head into the next area. Quickly run to the far right into the next area. Here, keep running to the right and you'll see that there are three paths going north. The first two are blocked, so take the third one. Go north until you bump into a bunch of trees. Take a left and pick up Orange Gel, as well as the Bellebane from the white mushrooms. In front of the chest containing the orange gel you'll see a ramp going down. Take it and proceed further west, until you see you can go north. Do so, into the next screen. Go down the raised area by going around the spinning path, and then head to the right, until you see you can go north. Head north all the way and when you can, head left. Go down the rocky ledge and run upwards once again, all the way into the next area, where you'll have to keep heading north. Eventually, you'll arrive at the temple. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ STRAYLIZE TEMPLE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Leon points out that's something's not quite right. It's too damn quiet! Dymlos tries to cheer the party by saying that everyone's probably dead. What a nice sword! Anyway, after the cutscene, go right and then north into the cathedral. Go up the stairs and run to the end of the room. Go through the door on the leftmost corner, and then, run to the right. Talk with the Bishop. He thinks you're a bad guy, and tells you to spare the girls(he wants them for his own dirty purposes, you see). After the talking, you'll get a Talisman. Now, head out of the cathedral and run to the far north, into the temple itself. When you enter, the camera centers into a big skull flying above some blue orbs. This should give us a tip on how to proceed. If you want, go north a bit and use the save point in front of the fountain. Then, examine the door with the orbs flying around it. Once you do, go south from the fountain, towards the entrance door, and take a right. Move onward until you see two paths: one going south, and one going north. Head north and go through the door. In the next area, head left and go through the door. Examine the monster in front of the purple crystal and you'll trigger a fight. Kill the Lizardman with your Spin Slash/Kick Attack. It's very powerful; do not use fire on him. Then, destroy the Krystal. After you do, step out of this room, and head all the way right. There will be another door there; go through it and pick up the Life Bottle inside. Now, head back to the fountain area, and this time around head left. When you see the path branches north, steer north. You'll see an staircase directly in front of you, and another one to the left. Take the one to the left first, and in the next area, run to the far left, ignoring the staircase you'll see. Go north once the chance arises, and pick up the Knight's Saber on the floor. Then, go through the door and kill the monster inside, along with the Krystal. After you do, step out of this room, go south, and then left. Go up the first staircase you find. Then, head left and down. Take a right when you can and go through the first door you see. Get the Chain Mail inside. Head outside and head further right, and through the next door you see. Destroy the Krystal inside. Once you do, go outside, to the left, up and down the staircases. Then, head right and up when you can, upstairs. Then, head a little to the right, and you'll see a staircase that goes up(the one we ignored a while ago). Take it. Then, head right. You'll see an staircase, and a hallway going north. Go up the hallway, and enter all of the rooms here, for a Round Shield and Two Krystals to destroy. Those are all of the Krystals! Head back to the fountain room, save, and go through the previously locked room. Inside, you'll find Ayles, somebody's who's very grateful because you saved him. The party asks where is the Archbishop, and Ayles informs he's been murdered by Lyndon. Where is that THING!?, Rutee asks. She's actually speaking about the Eye of Atamoni. Ayles is very surprised. He then explains that there is a cathedral in the left side of the temple that warrants a visit. First off, get the Green Gel here. You can go all the way up "The Tower of Knowledge" and get an Orange Gel, Spectacles x 2, Tech Ring, Ankh Hat and Stray Robe. The Tower of Knowledge poses NO KIND of trouble to get through, so you should get all of these items. Head back to the area where we got the last two Krystals, but this time, head to the far west, where you'll find an staircase going up. Use it. In the next area, go north and then right. Go down the steps and go a little to the south, turning right when you can, and then north once again. You'll find a door with two angels of both of its sides. Go through. As you step inside the cathedral, a cutscene ensues. Our priest friend talks with a flame, and reveals a secret path. Go through it. In the next area, you can go into a small alcove to the left where a save point is. Anyway, proceed north. At the northmost side of this area there are two locked doors. How do we unlock them? You see, around this area, there are six total switches on the floor. Three are dark colored, and three are white. In order to open either door, you'll need to step on three of these color switches. But only the switches that are similar! If the door doesn't open, it's because you've messed up. How? Well, if you start pressing dark-switches, DO NOT PRESS ANY WHITE SWITCHES. ANY. And vice-versa. Anyway, after you unlock a door, go through it(both are fine). In the next area, go up the steps. A cutscene ensues. Apparently, somebody's stolen the Eye of Atamoni, and petrified Philia, a priestess. Leon uses a Panacea on her, and good old Philia spills the guts about what happened. Sort of, at least. After some nonsensical crap, Philia finally reveals what's interesting: that Lydon stole the Eye of Atamoni! The Swordians show themselves worried. The eye should not fall into the wrong hands you see, and Lydon's hands(and all other mortal's) are very wrong. After all of the yappin', head out of the temple, and all the way back to the world map(you'll have to cross the woods all over again, yes). Then, head back to Darilshied. Also, try to level up Philia a bit(she's level 6, you see). Keep in mind that she doesn't have to be in your party. I got her to Level 7 in the Woods, mainly because I didn't want to spend loads o' hours leveling up. You should get her to level 7, too, and then get the hell outta here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DARILSHIED ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head toward the castle and visit the King. The party reports what's happened, and of course, the king shows himself worried. Philia explains the situation to the king. The King then tells you that you "Must find the Eye of Atamoni at all costs". But how? Head out of the castle(change your now big collection of Lens for Gald; the Lens outlet it's at the southmost part of the town. I, with 1000+ Lens, got 10000+ Gald in return!) and head east until you hit the town's stone wall. When you do, go south, until you see a gate on the wall. Go through it. You'll be on the harbor. There are a lot of food shops here, as well as a very interesting warehouse. To find the warehouse, first head all the way right until you see you can go up or down. Go up and you'll find the warehouse. It's got three doors: each one takes into a room with move-able crates. The trick is to move the crates into certain places so an item appears. Or that's how I understand: I haven't guessed out the last two puzzles. And I won't, at least for now. Head toward the area with the ships. If you talk with the guys arguing, you'll learn about the situation around here(the guys that are arguing are the Black Wings, and this Milly girl offers free sex---or that's what I like to think---to the crewman so he takes them away). Talk with everybody around the stores, specially these two blue-dressed guys near the fish store. They'll reveal that somebody's been moving a huge piece of cargo, statue-like. It must be the eye! After you've talked with them, head back to the castle and talk with the King. The party reveals that the Eye is heading toward Calvalese. Leon asks for permission to set to Calvalese(in who's ship anyway...), but the King is not very sure, specially after all of the reports of monster attacks. In the end, he decides it's a good idea and sends a guard so he can ready a ship. After the talking, make yourself ready. Buy some items, change your lens for moolah if you haven't already, and heal at the inn. Then, head to the harbor and head into the first ship from left to right. Talk with the captain and tell him you're ready to jam off! Yeehaaa! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TOWARD CALVALESE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The party is shown around the ship. Rutee then comes and mentions that the skies are getting darker. Stahn shows himself worried, because of the Demon's Reef, an old legend told to kids that was about sea monsters and such. Suddenly, a sailor comes storming and announces that the ship's being overrun by monsters! Talk with the bartender twice to get a Flare Bottle and a Liquor Bottle, and then exit the bar through the southmost door. Outside, head up into the upper deck. Watch the cutscene. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UNDERWATER CITY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Save if you wish, and exit this room through the northmost door. In the next area, you'll see your path is blocked. The huge boulders cannot be moved, but you can push away the small ones. Do so with the first set of boulders, go up and then left. Go up the staircase there. In the next area, you'll see that you can go north, right and left. Philia says that the voice is coming from the north, but first off, head left. In here, you'll find a chest blocked off by some small boulders. Move them off and pick the Rue Staff. Head back to the previous room but this time head right. In this room, move the boulders away, and pick the Orange Gel from the chest. Now, head back to the previous room and go north as Philia suggested. In the next area, you'll see you can go further north, or turn to the right. First off, head to the right, toward the hallway, and into the next area. In here, go up and through the door there. Inside this room, open the treasure chest and you'll get a pickaxe. Now, head back to the previous room, move the boulders and go north. You'll see a door that'll take you further into the ruins, or you'll be able to head left. Head left first, and pickaxe the door(just examine it). Inside, get the Fine Saber and the Iron Halm. Now, exit this room and go through the door that'll take you further into the ruins. Inside, get the ?DISC(no, It didn't take you further into the ruins :)) Now, head back to the area with the room where you got the pickaxe. Head toward that room, but head further right. Pickaxe the door there and get the Life Bottle inside. Now, head back to the room where you got the pickaxe, position yourself in front of it, and go down( not down the water-stairs) and turn right when you can. Head into the next area, where you'll find a rope. Use it to go below. Philia will tell you that the voice is a lot closer now. Now, you'll see two ropes going down. First, take the left one and get the ?DISC below. Now, head back up and take the right rope down. Below, you'll see another rope. Take it down, too. Head right into the next area. Philia says she hears the voice above the party. Now, you'll see a staircase heading northward, and a hallway to the right. So, you can go north or to the right. Head right first and pick up the Sharp Stone(a disc) that's inside that room. Head back to the previous room and go north this time around. The next area is like a dining room. The only way out is the staircase at the north side of this room: take it. In the next area, run upward into the next room. Pickaxe the door there and go through it. You'll find a sword on the ground. Approach it. This is what's been calling Philia: a Swordian. Its name is Clemente. Dymlos tells Clemente that eye of Atamoni's been stolen. He says he had a feeling that something was wrong, so that's what he decided to wake up its lazy ass(read: handle). Anyway, watch the cutscene. After it, you'll have to head back to the beginning of this area( not that hard). Save if you want to and exit the underwater city. After this, we'll continue with our travel. You'll arrive at the Calvalese Harbor. Exit it through the westernmost exit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CHERIK ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ First off, we'll need to meet Baluk, then we'll do our thing. Baruk's place is north from the harbor's entrance. A big house with a poke-ball like symbol on the floor in front of it(no way you can miss it). Get inside and proceed north until you see an staircase going down, on the left corner. Go down. Leon informs that Baruk is in the back room, and the party goes to pay him a visit. Now, a lot of pointless talk takes place. Baruk directs you to explore the town, before we head toward our next destination. Before leaving Baruk's office, open both chests here for a Combo Counter and a Food Sack(Medium size). Then, head out Baruk's place. First off, head to the inn and heal yourself. Then, from the inn, head left into the building there. Inside, you'll find all of the area's shop. Start off by buying two Rune Bottles and some healing items if you need to. Use both Rune bottles on the ?DISCs you have to uncover their true nature. Equip these discs on your swordian-wielding pals. Move into the next store, the equipment shop. Buy a Battle Axe for Mary. You'll notice that some of these swords apparently will strengthen our swordian masters, but it's better to keep the swordians. Buy two Ambers Cloaks(for Rutee and Philia), Iron Helms for those who need it and 3 Iron Gloves(Philia/Rutee can't use them). Equip all of these. Head out of the shops and head a bit north. You should see two kids by a well, in front of Baruk's place. Talk with them and tell them you want to play tag with them. Basically, you've got to run around without being touched. They'll give you Gald, some Gels and an Efreet. You could also get an Efreet on this town's warehouse(on the harbor), although that's a little tougher. Anyway, what've got to do now is to exit Cherik and to head north, toward Kalviola. But before doing so, level up! It's quite simple to level up around here. Get as much levels as you can. I got to level 14 with everybody except Philia, who got to level 11 only. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ KALVIOLA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >From the entrance, go outside(but not enough to exit the city) and go around the wall. You'll find a guy named Tosh there. He's trying to fight off some Sea Slugs. Tosh is not enough to take out the Slug, and suddenly the Black Wings come storming! These worthless, useless fools try to figh the slug and get Grid, one of their members, wasted 0_o. Anyway, after this, you'll have the Slug and its friends. They're quite easy, do not worry :') After this, head back to town and explore around. Buy some healing items if you need to(and even if you don't) as well as a Bastard Sword, and some Ring Mails. Exchange your now-huge collection of Lens for some good Moolah, and buy some Oberol EXs as well. Once you're done, it's time to continue with the game. In the northmost tip of town, there is a big temple, which is the local Straylize Temple. Get inside and you'll be told you can't come inside. It's now time to head back to Cherik. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CHERIK AGAIN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Immediately head toward the local harbor. Talk with the sailors with blue clothes. One of them will tell you that he's helped somebody named Jake to carry a huge, statue-like thing. He tells you this Jake guy is at the local inn. Bolt your way to the inn, and inside, go downstairs. Talk with the Maid there, and she'll tell you that Jake's at the Weapons Shop. So, head there. Talk with the man with the turban and he'll tell you that Jake's back at the harbor. He accuses you from stalking Jake. Goddamn bastard. Step out of this shop, and head back to the harbor. Head toward the area's top-right corner, where you'll find a guy staring at the sea. Talk with him. He's Jake! He tells you that the statue he's been carrying(the eye of Atamoni, no less) has been taken to some temple, Kalviola's Straylize Temple. Guess what? Head back to Kalviola. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ KALVIOLA... AGAIN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head toward the temple and enter it. The party asks the priests about the Eye, and Lydon, but they say that neither has visited the temple. Strange, isn't it? Something's fishy here, for the priests knew about Lydon's status as a high priest, even though Philia didn't mention it! Rutee suggests sneaking in during the night. The party agrees to do so, so head back to the inn and stay there. Your party will be awake at the night, of course, so head out of the inn and head toward the temple's front door. Go left from the door and you'll find a semi-hidden door there. Go through it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ STRAYLIZE TEMPLE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It'll be extremely dark inside, but Philia fixes this rather fast. However, keep in mind that's still very dark. Head to the right, all the way to the right, huggin along the top wall. You'll find a staircase going up if you do this. Go up it, and then head left. Go down, and left. You'll see a blue door. Ignore it and keep heading left(ignore the second blue door you'll find) until the hallway steers south. Go down it and take a right(once again, ignore the blue door). You'll see you can go south or keep heading right. Go south, and you'll into yet another split. First, head right and enter the room there. Pick the S. Earth inside(a disc). Now, head left and pick the Kite Shield inside that room. Head out it, toward the split, and go south yet again. You'll be on the temple's balcony. Pick the Amethyst there, and head back to the previous room. Head back to the hallway you began in, and look for a hallway on the bottom wall that goes south. You'll be on another hallway, that goes either left or right. Head right(if you head left you'll find... NOTHING) and go down when you can, into then next area. As you arrive, you're ambushed by two priestess! ------------------ BOSS: Monk Soldier x 2, Priestess x 2, Bat Eye x 2 Use Tiger Blade on both Bat Eyes, and the Spin Slash on the monks and the priestess, as well as your most powerful spells(Storm, if you're using Philia, Rutee's Tornado and so on) as well as your techs. It should be over done. ------------------ A cutscene takes place. After it, head out of this area. Head left until you see the path branches south. Go south, of course, and then head left, up the stairs. Go down the hallway, down the stairs to the right, and head further right, toward another flight of stairs. Go up it and keep heading right. You'll be ambushed by some more priestess. Use the same strategy you used the previous battle. After it, head a bit to the right, and go up north when you can. In the next area, run up north and examine the blue candle. It'll open a secret door. Go through it. In the next area, run north and approach the staircase. The party recognizes this room: after all, it looks exactly like the room where the Eye of Atamoni was kept! And suddenly, we're ambushed by a big group of priests and a high priest(not Lydon). He informs that the Eye was here, but it was take away by Lydon once again! The High Priest recognizes Philia, and accuses her of being an impostor! Philia defends herself by calling the Priest a fake himself. They reveal some really juicy stuff about the monsters and Lydon's involvement with them. After all of the chit-chat, you'll have to fight the same group of monks, bat eyes and priestess we fought before. Use the same strategy. After the battle, you'll have to fight another group of monks/priestess/bat eyes. Kick their asses the same way. After this, you'll be given a choice. Choice the option # 1 so you don't look like an idiot to Leon. Now, we'll have to continue with the game, of course! Head all the way back to Cherik(save on your way) and step into the harbor. Talk with the Captain and the party will inform our next destination is Fitzgald. Tell him you're ready! Off we go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NEUESTADT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We've got some importand matters to attend before we got shopping. Pick up the Rune Bottle south from your ship, and then exit the harbor area through the western gate. Once we arrive, we some some richie-richs making fun of a less-fortunate boy(I hated this part). The way they laugh at him it's enough to make you sick, I tells ya! Fortunately, the party kicks in and Rutee's badass attitude saves the day. After this, continue west until you see a set of steps going up. Go up them and enter the mansion there. Inside, go up the stairs and then go south until you see a doorway(the one on the bottom wall). Go through it and you'll be on the mansion's balcony. Pick the Panacea Bottle there. Head back to the main street(where the richie-richs where) and continue west until you find the Lens Store(look closely at each building). Inside, a cutscene takes place. Leon recognizes Ilene and tells her about his plan on how to stop the pirates from attacking her Cargo Ships. She wants to learn some more about this plan, so she invites you in. Follow her down the stairs. Below, Ilene introduces herself to the rest of the party, and vice versa. Anyway, Ilene asks Leon about his plan, and he elaborates. It's quite a simple plan! At first Ilene shows herself a little worried, but then she agrees. A ship will be waiting for you at the harbor. Pick the Oberol EX and Bellebane here and go upstairs, into the Lens shop, where you should change your Lens for some heavy Gald. Then, head out. Now, explore around the huge-ass city, looking for the different stores and such. Once you finally find the weapons/equipment shop, buy Kite Shields for all those who can equip it, three Ahmet Helms and three Gauntlets. Equip all of these, of course. Now, look for the F-Market, south of the main street, where you should buy Lemon Gels and Pine Gels, both very powerful healing items. Now, before moving onward and start our attack on the pirate fleet, it's an excellent idea to level up your characters. Get to level 16 with all of your party members, and that includes Philia. This is a great place to put Philia on party in order to level her up(when she's out of the party, she gets less EXP, you see). I know it'll be longer to level up Philia, so get her to level 14 _at least_ Once you're ready, heal at the inn and head toward the harbor. Talk to Ilene here. Let's jam! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TAKING OUT THE PIRATES ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: This portion of the game is quite long, so better have some spare time for it, ok? The ship sets sails and travels around for a bit. Stahn mentions that it's very boring to just sit down and wait for the pirates to make a move. Philia tells him it's better to be patient, but suddenly Rutee too breaks in despair. We need some action dammit! Just as Leon starts thinking that the pirates may know that this is a trap, the pirates start their attack. Exit the bar through the southmost exit. Outside, the captain tells you that you must kill each ship's leader in order to take over it. NOTE: Battles on these ships are not random. You can dodge enemies if you want to, but it's better to go and fight them. Also, I won't tell you what enemies you'll find in each room. I'll just give you directions. Get into the pirate's ship and go down, into the hold. Pick up the Panacea Bottle to the far left, and then head all the way to the right, where you'll find a Life Bottle as well as a door. Go through this door, and go north. Pick up the Orange Gel there and go through the door. Get the Melange Gel from the chest, and then head west through the hallway. Ignore the door you'll see and pick up the Green Gel at the end of the hallway. Then, go south, through the door there. You'll be on a small storeroom. Here, pick the Lemon Gel as well as the Miracle Gel. Now, head back to the previous area and go through the door I told you to ignore. Here, you can go left or right, it doesn't matter. You'll arrive at the same place: a small area with an staircase going up, one going down, as well as a chest, that contains a Bastard Sword. First, use the staircase that goes down. Below, pick up the Oberol C, and head left. You'll see that there is a door on the north wall, and a doorway on the south wall. First, go through the north door, and get the Pine Gel and Melange Gel inside. Now, head outside, and head right, where you'll find, once again, a door on the north wall and a doorway on the south wall. Go through the north door, and pick up the Oberol C, Oberol EX and Lemon Gel inside. Now, head outside this room and go through the doorway south of you. You'll be on yet another storeroom. Pick up the Miracle Gel as well as the Lavender hidden between some barrels. Afterward, head south out of this room. Pick the Oberol EX here, and run to the left, ignoring the staircase that goes south(for now). Pick up the Oberol C here and go through the door. Snag the Bellebane and Oberol C inside, and head back to the previous area. Go down the staircase that I told you to ignore(the one that goes south). Below, get the Sage just in front of the staircase, and head to the right. Go through the door on your way, and get the Bellebane and a Savory. Then, head outside and go to the right a bit more, and go up north when you can. Go through the door at the end of the hallway and talk with the priest there. ------------------ BOSS: Pirate x 2, Monk Soldier, Priestess. If you check the battle music, this actually isn't a boss fight, but because it's the ship's leader, I'll consider it as one. Anyway, it's quite easy. Constantly use Tiger Blade and Spin Slash with Stahn, while the others do whatever they want. It'll be an easy battle. ------------------ You'll be taken back to your ship, where the captain will rate your perfomance(I got "You're too damn slow", for hopefully obvious reasons). Now, I'd like to point out here that this rating will affect what items you'll get in the following ship. If your rating it's better than mine( most likely), then you'll get different items, of course! So, if the item you find at a certain place it's different than the one I told you, it's not my fault =) Anyway, board the the enemy ship and go into the hold through the southern entrance. Below, head left and get the Melange Gel there. If you enter the storeroom that's above the treasure chest with the Melange Gel, you'll be able to get a Wrassle and a Dark Bottle, both semi-hidden behind some debris. Once you get them, head back to the previous area and head right this time around. Pick up the Spectacles and go through the door. Inside the storeroom, head north, picking up another set of Spectacles along the way. Then, go through the door. Outside, get the Barracuda, and then, head left. You'll see a door: for now ignore it, get the Dark Bottle at the leftmost end of the hallway, and then go through it. In the next area, go either left or right. You'll reach an area with two staircases either way. Use the bottom staircase after you get your Spectacles from the brown bag. Below, get the Amber Cloak from the chest. Now, you'll see that to the left and to the right there are two gray doors. The leftmost one will take you to a room where you can get a R. Snapper and a Holy bottle, while the rightmost will drive you into a room with another R. Snapper, another Holy Bottle and a Squid. Once you've gotten all of these, go through either doorway that's south of these gray doors. To follow my walkthrough, go through the rightmost. In the storeroom, go south and through the door, picking up the Squid and R.Snapper along the way. In the outside area, run to the left, ignoring the staircase that goes down(for now) and get the Splint Mail there. Then, go through the gray door and get the Squid and Holy Bottle inside. Now, go down the staircase that I told you to ignore. Below, get the Ambar Cloak that's in front of the staircase, and head right. Go through the gray door, get the R. Snapper x 2 there, head outside and keep going right and north when you can. Go through the door, into the captain's room. Before engaging him, get the Blue Ribbon between the two crates at the leftmost side of this room. Then, talk with the captain, and you'll have to fight, once again, 2 Pirates, 1 Priestess and 1 Monk Soldier. Use the the same strategy. You'll be taken back to the ship, and the captain will rate your perfomance once again. He called me a chicken, you see. If your rating is better, the items you'll get will be different. So, board the ship and go into the holds through the southern entrance. This ship's layout is the same as the previous ones, only with slightly different items. AT the end, you'll have to fight the same boss: 2 pirates, 1 Monk Soldier and a Priestess. Once you finish this ship, you'll be taken back to yours. The captain will tell you that Pirate leader has appeared. So, board his FINAL SHIP through the southeron exit. Below, head left and get the Oberol C from the chest. Then, go through the gray door. In the storeroom, pick up the semi-hidden Green Gel, next to a small set of steps. Then, go up the steps and go forward a bit. Take a right when you can and get the WOF there. Now, you'll see that you've got three choices: you can go north, up the stairs, south, down the stairs, or continue further right. For future reference, I'll call this room the threeway room. Anyway, first, go south, down the stairs. Below, head left and get the Silver Chain there. Then, go through the door there. In this storeroom, you can get an Orange Gel, Green Gel, Lemon Gel and Pine Gel. Now, head back to the previous room and head to the right. Get the Splint Mail and go through the door. In this storeroom, go north and through the door, picking up an Oberol EX, Melange Gel, Green Gel and an Orange Gel. In the next area, go into the room directly across of you. Inside, pick the Iron Glove behind the wood box to the right, and the Green Gel that's also behind a wood box, to the left. Then, exit this room and run to the left. You'll see a staircase that goes down. Take note of it, but ignore it for now, and keep heading left. At the end of the hallway, go through the door, and snag the Veldan(behind a table) and the Miracle Gel, that's behind a wooden box to the left. Head out of this room, and head toward the staircase I told you about. Across of it there is a door: go through it first and get the Amber Cloak and Battle Axe, both behind a table. Afterward, go down the staircase. In the area below, go left and north. Go through the door at the end of the hallway. Then, run to the right and go up the stairs. Pick up the hourglass and keep going upstairs, where you'll reach the captain's room, although there is no captain(don't worry...). Save at the save point, fully heal your party and step into the white cilinder thing there. You'll arrive at the real captain's room. Approach the old chap here to engage battle with the leader of the pirates. ------------------ BOSS: Batista, Priestess x 2, Monk Soldier x 2 First off, have your party members kill the Priestesses. Use Ice Wall and Stone Wall with Rutee and Leon, while Stahn and Mary use their physical skills. Try to stay clear from Batista as you do. Once the Priestesses are down, kill the Monk Soldiers using your best skills( that should be Vortex/Tiger Blade/Ice Wall and so on). If your party gets caught in a combo made by Batista and the Monks, have Stahn deal with the Priestesses, alone. You see, Priestesses stay on the screen's corners all the time, trying to cast magic. Also, your friends will, most likely, kill the Monk Soldiers by themselves. Just try to leave Batista alone, by any means necessary. Once you do, it's time to get really serious. Batista's claw is a formidable weapon, indeed, and the multi hit combos he does with them are very punishing. He's also got 4500 HP for you to wear down. How? First off, hit the T button and set Rutee's battle strategy to always heal. Leave her alone afterward, and have Stahn use Vortex(if you don't have it, Tiger Blade or Spin Slash), Mary use Double Blade and Leon use Tiger Blade, or Dragon Blade, if you already have it. If you manage to corner him, just slash away until he's down. ------------------ The party asks Batista about Lydon's whereabouts, but he tells he doesn't know, even though he told the party he would tell them if they beat him. And we beat him, yes, why doesn't he tell us!? Well, he says that promises are made to be broken! Leon has a plan though. He'll interrogate Batista using his "methods" once they get back to shore. Batista just laughs at this. He'll be sorry for his lack of respect. You'll then head back to the harbor, where Ilene will greet you. Afterward, Leon heads toward Ilene's house. We too must head there, but before we do, you may want to save at the harbor(no need for healing; you're full). Then, head into Ilene's place(just exit the harbor and you'll be taken there). Batista insists he doesn't know anything. The fool. Leon starts to use his methods on him: he takes off Mary's tiara and puts it on Batista's head and starts shocking him up, but Batista won't say anything! Rutee and Mary will leave as Leon tortures Batistuta... er Batista and then Ilene asks Stahn to go with her on a date. Once Stahn starts blushing, Ilene tells him it was just a joke! She just wants to give him a tour around the town. They then leave... and you'll learn that Rutee was actually eavesdropping them! She's jealous, that's obvious. Watch as they explore the city, and how Rutee and Mary follow them. Instead of telling you all what Stahn and Ilene do, I'll summarize: they go to the local arena, where the champion, Khang, beats Stahn to a pulp. Stahn will pass out, and when he wakes up, Ilene'll be by him. She's very grateful with Stahn for sticking up for her. After this, we'll return back to Leon, who's still trying to squeeze some info out of Batista by shocking him. He shocks him so much that Batista passes out! After this, some stuff happens, and that includes Batista fleeing! The next day, Stahn and Philia decide to take some food to Batista, and they immediately find out that he has fled. They inform the rest of the group about this, and long story made short, Leon reveals that he left Batista's door lock-less so he could flee. You see, the tiara on his head has a homing beacon, and that'll help us to find Lydon's whereabouts. A very clever idea, indeed. Head to the harbor, save, and talk with Ilene there. Leon reveals Batista's location: Aquaveil, and asks for a ship. Ilene hesitates about this, but in the end, she agrees. So, off to Aquaveil we go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SHEEDEN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a small town, and our main purpose here is to get some information. Our shopping, later. By the town's bottom entrance, there is an Old Woman hanging around. Talk with her. She'll reveal some juicy information. Now, head east from this area until you hit the town's walls. When you do, go up north and into the harbor when you can. In the harbor, go north, through the bridge and talk with the red peddler. Buy the Shiny Junk out from him and use a Rune Bottle on it to transform it into the SW060060 disc, which greatly increases your attack power. Now, from the red peddler, go south and take a right and go further south when you first can. Talk with the sailor blocking off the ship, and then the old man further south. After this, the path to Moreau will be un-blocked. So, head out of Sheeden and go south, into the cave, which is near the coastline. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CAVE TO MOREAU ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head to the left and pick up the C. Axe behind the waterfall: put it on Mary if you want to. Then, go through the door behind the waterfall. Go up the rocky steps here and pick up the Shelter Disc from the chest. Afterward, head back to the previous area and head further to the left, all the way to the left, and you'll find a door. Go through it. In the next area, keep heading left. Once you see a flight of rocky steps going up, go up them and then through the door. In this room, head to the left and through the door there. In the next area, go all the way up and then left where you'll find a short flight of rocky steps that lead toward a door. Go through this door and get the Flare Bottle there. Now, head back to the previous area. Here, head to the right into the room we were in a while ago, and then exit it through the south. Go down the steps and head left toward a door; go through it, and, in the next screen, keep heading left to another doorway and into another area. Now, here you'll see a blue treasure chest on the pond. To get into the pond, go down the stairs in front of it. These stairs are somewhat hidden between some spikes. The chest in the pond contains a ?DISC. Use a Rune Bottle on it to reveal its true identity: a SP025062 disc. Now, head out of the pond and continue north until you see you can't keep going north. When this happens, look for a flight of stairs between some spikes. Once you find them, go down them and proceed through the pond, to the left, using the ledges. Once you reach solid ground again, go north into the next area. Keep heading north and right when you can. Save at the save point and then head to the left, through the door there. In the next area, go left and you'll find out that your doorway to freedom is being covered by some strange monster. "Talk" to it! ------------------ BOSS: Orgus Queen, Orgus x 4 First off, go for the Orgus: kill them using your special skills and normal attacks: they go down quickly. The Queen is not harder, either. Have Stahn use Tiger Blade on it, Leon should use Dragon Blade and Mary Double Blade, while Rutee concentrates on healing. It should go down fast. ------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WORLD MAP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle with the Orgus Queen, head outside, into the world map. Head west around the coastline and look for a "ramp" that takes you into the mainland(the green area, if you don't understand). Then, head east, around the mountains, and go south afterward, looking for a bridge. Go through it and enter Moreau. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MOREAU ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you enter, head to the right, all the way until you see a bridge going down south. Go through it and at the very bottom of it, turn right once again. You'll find that a kid and his mom are being harassed by some soldiers(public execution because the kid bumped into him!? Geezus...) The soldiers are some ****ing heartlesses, so Stahn decides to play hero and save the day. You'll have to fight them, and they're easy, so don't worry. After the battle, the party will run away from a group of soldiers, but somebody named Karyl saves them. He then joins your party. Now you're free to do whatever you want to around town. First off, it'd be good to heal at the inn, of course. Then, we should buy some equipment for the party(and some healing items/rune bottles if you're empty). Buy three Breastplates for Stahn, Leon and Mary and equip them right away. Also, go and visit the harbor where most of the good shops are. There is this guy who sells pure ???? items(you gotta use a rune bottle on them). Some of these things are good, so, buy the second item on his list(M. Sword), the fourth, and the seventh. Equip the Mythril Sword on Mary, the Mythril Shield on whomever you want, and the Lucky Cap on Karyl. Also, buy three Silver Cloaks for Rutee, Philia and Karyl, one Feather Hat for Karyl, and three Stripped Ribbons for the women. After you're done with your shopping on the harbor, head back to the main town and head toward the southeasternmost part of it, where you'll find a house. The family you rescued a while ago live here, so drop a visit and talk with the mother. She'll offer a gift. Tell her no, and she'll give it to you anyway. A Blue Talisman. Now, after this, head out of her house and look for the castle's entrance on the eastern part of town. You can't enter, and Karyl suggest the use of a boat. So, head toward the southwesternmost part of town, where you'll find a lone guy next to a boat. Talk with him and tell him you're ready to go to the castle. Off we go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MOREAU CASTLE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You'll be on the castle's balcony. Head into the castle, of course. You should immediately notice that there is a woman on locked on a room. Enter this room and a cutscen starts. Leianna is the woman's name, and she's Fayte wife(we're looking for Fayte if you didn't know). After talking with her, head left into the next area. Here, there is a save point. This is an EXCELLENT place to level up! Get to level 25 at least. And if you need healing, head back to the previous area and talk with Leianna, and she'll heal you of course! Once you're ready, make good use of the save point and go south. Behind the bushes there are some pretty-well hidden Gels. Once you've gotten them, head left and snag the extra gel on the chest. Then, go north, through the door. In the next area, head left and through the door there. In the following room, proceed left. Pick up the Gel behind the bushes and go through the door there. In this area, pick up the Amethyst on the chest to the left and the Score B on the chest to the right, and lastly, the two Gels on the chest near the bushes. Then, turn off the valve. Afterward head back to the area where we were leveling up(the save point) by exiting the valve room, heading right and through the door, and, in the next screen, head right and through the door again. We'll be back at the beginning. Go south. Look to your left and get the Melange Gel hidden behind a bush. Then, go south and down the steps. Pick up the Green Gel to the right as well as the Halberd to the left. Go up from the Halberd's treasure chest, and take a left into the next area. Push the big, brown block up so it fills the gap, and then head left into the left screen, where you'll find yet another brown block. Move it to the bottom of the screen to fill the gap there. Now, head all the way back to the valve and examine it again. Head out of the room where the valve is and cross the "bridge" using the block you put up. In the next screen, go south and clear the gap using the block and head into the next area. Head south and then right and then up once you can. Go through the door. In the next area, head north. You'll see that you can go to the right, further north(through a door) or head left. First off, snag all of the items here. Then, head left and down the stairs. Downstairs, go through the door. In the following screen, go down the steps and push the block right and then down to clear the gap. Go up the steps and across the path you made. Then, go up and through the door. In the next room, approach the piano and a cutscene ensues. After it, you'll have to leave somebody behind. Leave whomever you want(I normally leave Philia) and go through the door. In the next screen, go north(DO NOT HEAD TO THE RIGHT) into the next area. This is a puzzle room. See al those wood panels on the floor? You'll have to press them in a certain order. From left to right: 1, 8, 2, 7, 3, 6, 4, 5 That will unlock the door at the top. Go through it and pick up the Valve Handle. Now, head back to the room where Karyl is and talk with the party member you left behind to regroup the party. Head back two screens and go north, through the door there. Pick up the Gel from the chest and head north into the next area. Head north some more here and take a right when you first can. Then, go south into the next screen. Here, go all the way south where you'll find a brown block. Use it to clear the gap. Then, pick up the Miracle Gel on the brown bag. Head back two screens after you put the block on the gap, and head to the left. In this area, go down the steps and clear the gap with the block. Go back up and go across the path and into the next screen, where you'll find a valve. Turn it on and get the items here. Now, head back two screens and head to the right this time around, and then north. Go across the path and through the door. Then, go down the stairs(either one is fine). Go south into the next screen, and head to the right, past the door( take note of it) and down when you can. Immediately head right into the next screen. Save and then go north. Instal the valve and then turn it off. Head back to the room with the save point and go south. In the next area, go down the steps and get the S. Flame disc. Now, head back to the previous room and head left. Go down the steps and clear the gap with the block. Go up the steps and across the path you made with the block, into the next area. It's a fourway room, you see. Head west and then go north all the way into the next screen. Keep heading north and you'll find Batista. It's time to show him what we got! ------------------ BOSS: Sorceress x 2, Assassin x 2, Batista First off, take care of the sorceresses by using Stahn and some magical spells with Leon while Rutee concentrates on healing. Mary or Philia should attack whomever they want: let them be. After the sorceresses are down, take down the assassins(they're probably down too) using your best skills(Tiger Blade and Dragon Blade). They'll die very soon. Batista is quite easy, too. Have both Leon use Tiger Blade or Flying Dragon, Stahn use Vortex while he's VERY near Batista for some very good damage. Rutee should heal and pull off an occassional Snipe Air/Roar, and Mary should concentrate on using Beast Blade. ------------------ After this, a very interesting cutscene takes place. The party finally rescues Fayte, who informs the party that Lydon and King Tiberius are planning to invade Seinegald. Fayte also tells the party that the King is in Terazzo, along with Lydon. Leon decides that'll they go to Terazzi and kill off Lydon. Some more cutscenes, and you'll be taken back to Moreau. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MOREAU... AGAIN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, some new stores have opened and such, so be sure to stock yourself up. First off, buy three Cross Helms and three Light Shields at the Neptune Shop. To get to this shop, you'll have to talk with the boat guy, in the southwesternmost part of town. He'll also take you to the equipment shop Moonflower, where you can stock up on Pine Gels and Lemon Gels, if you don't have any. Do so. Once you're all set, head into the town's harbor and head toward the southmost part of it where you'll find Fayte. Talk with him and tell him you're ready to go. You'll then depart toward Terazzi. However, on your way, a massive monster attacks your ship and you'll have to fight it. ------------------ BOSS: Kraken Pitiful. Waste it with Spin Slash, Flying Dragon, Double Blade and Snipe Roar. Keep doing this over and over again and the big thing will go down in no time. ------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TERAZZI ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nobody is willing to sell you anything, there is no inn... head north from your ship and look for a boatman on a pier. Talk with him and tell him you want to get on the boat. Although he's the one on control, you are the one who will tell him which way to go. First, tell him to go left, left again, left again, up and into a house, where you'll find a Pine Gel as well as a Miracle Gel. Head into the boat again and head right, up, right and up into another house, where you will find a Life Bottle. In the top-right corner of this house there is a level which you must push down. Once you do, head back to your boat and go left, down, right up, right up and left. The boat ride will stop; go north into the castle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TERAZZI CASTLE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ An awesome place to level up. You get approx. 400-1700 EXP points a fight, and there is a save point here too! If you want to heal, pay the guard in front of a door 500 Gald and enter the room he was blocking off, where you'll find a very interesting person who'll heal you for an extra 500 Gald. In order to exit the healer's room you'll have to pay an extra 500 Gald. As you can see, in order to heal you'll need to spend 1500 Gald so be sure you heal only when you need to. I got to level 32 here without any kind of trouble and that's what you should do, too, so incoming battles will be easier. Be sure to take some time and level up your neglected characters a level or two, just for kicks. Head to the left and get the Juicy Beef next to the guard's post as well as the Chestnut and Persimmon inside the small alcove further to the left. Then, head into the next screen. Here, go through door that's to the north and push down the lever. After you do, head back to the previous screen and run down the hallway toward a split up. First, head to the left into the castle's outskirts. Go up and snag the Life Bottle from the chest. Afterward, you may want to explore farther into the castle's outskirts to find some more items. Either way, head to the previous screen and proceed to the right into the next screen, where you should head right again into another area. Go up the steps and pick up the Juicy Beef from the chest. Head down the steps and go south into the next room. Get the Lemon Gel here and then head back two screens. Go south when you can and you'll be on the castle outskirts once again. Snag both items here and head back to the previous area. Head left twice into the castle outskirts, where we were a while ago. Head south and take a right once can and go into the next screen, where you should head south some more, getting the items you find along your way. Turn right when you can and look for a ladder going up on the castle's wall. Once you identify, climb it up and get the Melange Gel on the chest. Then, head through the door. Get the Persimmon to the right and then go north. Grab the Chesnut from the chest and cross the bridge to the right. Open ALL of the chests here to get a whole bunch of food items. Afterward, head through the door to the north into the next screen. Here, head to the right and then north through a door in front of a ladder. In this library-like room, go up both ladders into a dormitory. Here, go through the door into an area with a pit on it. At the top of this room there is a plant. Push it down the pit and then head back two screens(the one prior to the library) and go down the ladder here. Below, get the Pine Gel and head back to the previous room. Head left and north when you can. In the next screen, push the lever up and head through the door to the left. In the castle's balcony get two Juicy Beefs. Then, head back two screens toward the room we've been going through for a while, and head right and go through the door across the ladder. In the next area head to the right and go up. First, go across the bridge and then down to find a Life Bottle. Then, head back and go north into the next screen. Go straight up and get the items from both chest. Go across the bridge to the left and then go north. Turn to the left when you can, into the next screen. Head to the left and go down the steps there and push down the plant there into the switch on the floor. This will unlock a door at the top of the room. Go through it and go all the way north and healing on your way. After a couple of screens you'll reach a huge area with a HELLUVA BUNCH of doors. If you look closely at each door model, you'll notice that each one represent a zodiac sign. This crap is quite hard to guess out, so here you go: First, go through the Goat door, Water, Twin Fishes, Bull, Horse, Twin Girls, Crab, Lion, Woman, Scales, Scorpion and Bow. After the puzzle, you'll be on an area with a save point. Save, of course and proceed north( after the astrological puzzle, you'll have full health) and around the big statue to find the king. You'll then have to fight the man himself! ------------------ BOSS: Tiberius, Sorceress, Monk Warrior x 2 Have Stahn kill the sorceress by himself(focus on her by pressing R1) while your other party members use their best attacks against the Monks: Flying Dragon, Snipe Roar and Mirage(if you have it) work well. After you've killed them all, start your assault on Tiberius. If you've got Leon's Demon's Lance, use it(otherwise use Dragon Blade/ Flying Dragon) while Stahn uses Dragon Blade/Tiger Blade, Rutee heals with Nurse(you hopefully have it) and Mary uses Mirage/Double Blade. Demon's Blade easily causes 3500 PTS of DMG, so if you have it, this battle is yours. ------------------ Tiberius reveals that Lydon's is off to Phandaria, and Leon then kills him. After this, head toward the castle's main room(the one where the healing guard is) and head to the right and down the hallway into the next screen. Here, go south into the kitchen. Get the food from the chests and head to the left. Get the Juicy Beef from the chest and go down the steps at the top. Head to th left into the next screen. Pick up the Eel on the chest and head left some more until you reach a blue treasure chest that holds the Revitalize Disc. After this, head out of the castle. Back in town head into your boat. The boatman will ask you where you want to go, specifically. Tell him you want to go back to the pier. Before you talk to Fayte, save at the save point south from your ship. Then, talk with Fayte and tell him you're ready to go. On your way to Phandaria, you'll be able to play a very fun minigame. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FROSTHEIM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The party talks a bit with Fayte and Mary leaves while you do. Once you regain control of your party, go up and head to the right. Talk with Mary there. It seems something's bothering her. Afterward, head out of the harbor area and into the town itself. Buy some equipment, specially six Fur Capes and healing items. Buy Mythril stuff for all of your characters, and buy some extra stuff for a character that's about to join and that includes a shiny new bow. Once you're done with your shopping, head out Frostheim and head west until you find a frozen river. Then, go south into the forest area. You'll arrive at... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TILSO FOREST ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As soon as you arrive, you're attacked by... ------------------ BOSS: Monk Warrior x 2, Crow, Sorceress. Very, very easy. Use Flying Dragon and Dragon Blade over and over and they go down. ------------------ After this, Garr joins your party. He's at level _9_(holy s***) and has almost no equipment. Outfit him with some good equipment(buy some if you need to) and keep him out of your party for now... Afterward, head out of the town and head north, into the frozen river. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FROZEN RIVER ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The characters you've been using so far won't level up quite a lot here, but Garr will, so put him in your party and fight around until he's around level 24-25. This will take quite a lot of time, but trust me, it's worth it because Garr is extremely powerful. Although Garr's main weapon is the bow, I'd equip him with the Ranseur(pole weapon) for a huge boost on his strenght. Also, equipping the Ranseur allows him to perform his blade-based techs, but not his bow-based. This is good, because for now, his bow-based techs suck. Head north until the path steers left. Go left then and look for a huge ice boulder. Examine it for a cutscene. Afterward, in order to melt it, you'll have to use the Sorcerer's Ring. It consumes Lens when you do, but by now you should have around 9999, so no problem. To use this ring, you must give it to somebody through the items menu. Then, press SQUARE and the huge boulder will melt. Afterward, go up into the next area. It's a pretty big area, but first go north towards a frozen river. In the middle of this river there is a treasure chest and in order to get it, you must skate through the river. Align yourself with the chest and skate toward it. Open it and get the ?DISC. Use a Rune Bottle on it to get the SW100100 Disc. After you've gotten it, head to the left of the river and look for a bridge. Go across it and continue heading to the left until you see you can go down. Do so and in the next screen, go down the rock wall. Head to the right and you'll find a huge frozen river. Skate across it, heading right and you'll hit a tree. When you do, go upward and snag the Mythril Sword from the chest. From here, skate all the way down and you'll hit a tree. Go into the small piece of floor next to this tree and get the Light. Then, go up toward the area where the M. Sword was, and then go down again, trying to hit the tree. If you do, skate to the left and then down. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WORLD MAP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The town right in front of you is Heidelberg. It's our next destination, but first, I'd go further south and into another town, called Cyril. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CYRIL ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When you arrive, Mary mentions that she feels some kind of Deja Vu inside this town. She then tells you that she lived here! She's starting to regain her memory(since when it was lost anyway?!). After the cutscene with her, that'll effect something in the future, you may want to goof around the town. All doors are locked, though, so head out Cyril and head north, into Heidelberg. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HEIDELBERG ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head north. Don't bother entering the local stores, as their owners aren't around. So, head north toward the local castle. Somebody comes out and tries to take you away. Mary, all of a sudden, pulls out a sword and shows it to the man, who's called Master Dalis. Dalis shows himself worried/excited/ astonished and then the guards recognize Garr! All hell starts to break loose and three of your party members, Stahn, Rutee and Mary get caught by this Dalis guy. You'll be taken inside the castle then. Dalis comes to your cell and takes Mary out. Rutee suggest that she probably remembered something of her past! Anyway, Leon comes in and saves the party. After you're all reunited, exit the prison area. Get the F. Bottle that's between the beds and head into the rest room to the right. Get the Liq. Bottle that's next to the fireplace and then look for a staircase going up on the bottom left side of the corner. Go up them and approach the room Mary and Dalis are in. The party eavesdrop the conversation and you'll learn some very juicy stuff! All of a sudden, some guards come smashing in. Time to fight! ------------------ BOSS: Archer x 2, Stray Monk x 2, Dalis Immediately take out the Archers! They're a pin in the neck, so have your party members use their best skills on them(Wind Blade with Garr, Flying Dragon, Dragon Blade...). Do the same on the Stray Monks, and be sure they go down quickly. Dalis' strong against physical attacks, so use your best magical attacks(if you have Leon's Demon Lance, the battle will be extremely easy). After a while, he'll go down. ------------------ After the battle, go up the stairs in Dalis' office. A cutscene takes place. The party will jump off Dalis' office. Stahn hesitates at first, but Garr explains the snow will absorb the shock so there is no reason to be worrying. So, they jump and Stahn smashes his ass so hard... well you get the picture. After this, head to the right and enter the cave there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UNDERGROUND PASSAGEWAY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Watch the cutscene, and when you take control again, head out of the room you're in and go all the way south into a small room where you'll find a bracelet. Step out of it and go north and take a right when you can. In the next area, go up the steps and skate through the greasy floor to reach another machine-like structure. Go down its steps and head west until you come into a split up: you can head west or east. Head west and in the next screen, go north and through a doorway and you'll come into another split up. Head left and examine the pedestal there and it'll make you a question. Answer Fire Wall. Then it'll make you another question. Answer Missile Sword. After you do this, you'll get the Fiery Wave special skill! Get the item on the brown bag here and head back to the previous screen. Head right and through the door there. In the next screen, go up the steps and skate upward. You'll bump into a blue figure. It's the Ice Golem! ------------------ BOSS: Ice Golem Use Fiery Wave over and over again. It will be done in no time. ------------------ Afterward, use the S Ring twice to break a block of ice and to activate the symbol. This will open a door. Go through it. In the next screen, go through the door across of you and get both items inside(that includes a wpn). Head out of this room afterward and head west until you find a ladder. Go up it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HEIDELBERG CASTLE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head out of the cell and go north two screens until you reach the castle properly. Here, head right and go up the stairs. You'll be on the Audience Hall. Head to the left and get the Wind Spear disc there. Head out of this room afterward and head to the right. Go north when you can and go through the door. Pick up the Reflex inside the storeroom and then head out of it. Look to the right and look for two light-less candles. Light them up with your S. Ring, thus unlocking a door. Go through it. In the next screen head to the right where you'll find a door. Head through it and it'll take you into a puzzle room. To the right there are two doors, both locked. At the bottom right portion of the screen there is another door, and it is locked, too. What we need to do now is to use the S Ring on all of the light-less candles here. All of them. Once you do, you'll unlock the doors I told you were locked. First off, head toward the first two doors I told you about(the ones to the right of the entrance door) and go through the first one(from left to right). Go northward until you find two statues and a locked doorway. To unlock the doorway, put the statue that's holding a fire in front of the woman statue. This will unlock the doorway. Go through it. You'll find a door. Go through it too. Here, go up and head all the way to the left, past the giant cog, to find a Life Bottle. Then, start heading rightward until you find an elevator. It won't move. Stahn says that we probably need to fix some stuff. So, head back to the candle room. This time around, go through the second door, from left to right. Here, pick up the Aquamarine. Afterward, head back to the elevator area. Head toward where the life bottle is and go up a chain next to it. Pull down the switch there and go down the chain. Then, head to the right and look for a chain going up. Climb it up and step into the moving platform. Then, go up one more chain. After you do, you'll be able to climb up two chains. First off, go up the left one. After you do, head left and go up another chain. Grab the Orange Gel. Then, head back and go up the right chain. Here, you'll see a switch. Pull it up and the non-working elevator I mentioned a while will come up. Pull it down and it will go down. Leave it down. Go up the chain here to get the Hunter Bow and then head back to the area's lowest level. Head to the right and you'll find the elevator that moves up and down when you press the switch. Step into it. Now, head back to the switch and pull it down. Sthan will say somebody needs to stay; leave somebody behind. If Stahn doesn't say anything about leaving somebody behind, it's because you haven't stepped into the non-working elevator. That's the way it works. Now, head back to the elevator and step into it. The character you left behind will take you up. Go up the chain and you'll find a frozen pulley. To de-froze it, go the chain next to it and put yourself above it. Use the S. Ring on it afterward. Use the pulley to get yourself toward the area where your character is. Pick him up and then head back using the pulley. Go up the chain like you did in order to de-froze and head to the left, where you'll find another chain. Go up it and go through the door you'll stumble into. In the next area, go through the door to the north. In the next room, light up every torch. This will unlock both doors here. The one to the left(the far left, not the middle one) contains a frozen chain. Use your S. Ring on it and then head out of it. Head toward the rightmost door and go through it. Inside, move the wheel. Head back two screens and go through a door on the bottom-left side of the screen. In the next room, go south and save and then move the wheel. Then, head back to the room where we lit some candles a while ago(where the frozen chain was) and go through the middle door. Follow the path northward and you'll eventually reach Lydon. By now, you should know what this means. ------------------ BOSS: Holy Knight x 2, Lydon, Bishop The knights and the bishop are pushovers. Kill them as soon as you can(Rutee's Blizzard works wonders on them and Lydon). Be sure to kill the Bishop as soon as possible because its Whirlwind attack is really annoying and powerful. As for Lydon, all I can say is that Stahn's dragon blade is the key to winning. Set it up so when you press X you perform it, and smash Lydon with it constantly. Have Rutee use Nurse everytime your party hits the 1500 HPs. Leon should also use Flying Dragon. My fourth character was Garr, and he had a bow, so I just made him use Power. An easy battle, overall. ------------------ Watch the cutscenes and you'll end up inside the Draconis. Head out of Stahn's room and head toward the bridge(you know, the ship's dragon head). Talk with Garr inside. Afterward, head out of the bridge and proceed right, down the ladder and through the door. Go all the way upstairs into the deck. You'll find Rutee there. Some cutscenes ensue. As well as a false ending! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ STAHN'S HOMETOWN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After Lilith wakes you up, you must go to the room next to Stahn's room in order to have breakfast. If you want a good laugh, head into the bathroom and examine the window! Awesome! Anyway, as you have breakfast, you'll be asked to find some fish. First, put the dishes in the sink and then head out your house. You could explore around town, entering each of its houses to find some stuff. Anyway, head toward the southwestern part of the town and enter the market. Inside, talk with the fish monger. After he informs you about the fish situation, head back to your house and talk with Lilith. She'll get really mad at you, of course! Not because you weren't able to get the fish, but because dinner's going to suck! Next morning you'll meet Philia once again, who'll inform you about the Eye of Atamoni status. She'll fork over Dymlos, too. Head out of your house and head toward the southeastern part of town. Get into the pond and examine the pedestal. It'll make you two questions. Answer Fire Storm and Kick Attack to get the Dragon Toss skill. After you do, head into the Village Chief's house and talk with the chief's daughter. Tell her you love her to to get a Black Onyx. After this, head out of Stahn's hometown and head toward Neuestadt. Also, be sure to talk to Lilith to get the Food Sack L. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PUTTING THE PARTY BACK TOGETHER ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Immediately head into the local harbor and talk with your captain. He'll ask you who do you want to recruit first: Garr or Rutee. I picked Garr because he's such a kick-ass character. When you do, you'll set sail to Frostheim. Once you arrive at the local harbor, look for a red peddler who'll sell you a disc for 7000 Gald. It's quite good, so better buy it if you have the money(after the false ending all of your money will be gone). Afterward, head out Frostheim and head west through the forest(it's just one screen and you can go through it painlessly). You'll have to go through two forest though, and afterward you'll be in front of Cyril. Enter it and look for Mary's house that's to the southwest. Enter it for a cutscene. After it, head out of Cyril and head north, into Heidelberg. Head toward the castle for a cutscene. Garr will join you and he'll take his Swordian, Igtenos, with him. Problem is that Igtenos is asleep, and you won't be getting it anytime soon. After Garr joins your party once again, head back to Frostheim, more specifically the docks and talk with your captain. Tell him you're off to Seinegald! He'll leave you in Darilshied. There is nothing inside the city, so exit it. In the world map, go west for a bit until you see you can go south. Do so and then head east along the mountains. You'll eventually find Cresta. Get into it and look for the orphanage, a huge building with a frontyard of its own that's on the northwestern part of town. Approach it for a cutscene. Rutee will join you afterward. Now that you're all set, head back to Darilshied and head into the castle. Talk with the king. After this explore the storerooms to find a crapload of items. Head inside Hugo's mansion and go up the stairs. Head all the way to the right into the next screen. Here, follow the hallway to a green door. Go through it. Inside the room, a cutscene will ensue. Stahn finds something about Libra IV. After reading the book, head back to the mansion's lobby and talk with any employee. They'll direct you to the manager. He has a beard, a black one. Is easy to find out who he is. Talk with him to learn that Libra IV is a factory north of Cresta. Head back to the castle and talk with the king. Then, head into the harbor and talk with your captain. Off we go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LIBRA IV ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You'll be asked if you still trust Leon. Answer whatever you want. Afterward, go through the door here. In the next area, head to the left and pick up the Rubber Suit from the chest. If you talk with the employee here you'll have to fight a somewhat big group of enemies. Talk with him for the EXP! Head back to the previous screen. You'll see that at the top of it there are two doors. First, go through the one to the right. In the next room, flip the switch and get the Oberol C from the chest. Go through the door here and pick up the Reflex. Head back two screens and go through the left door this time around. Here, go all the way north and through a door. Inside the room, go down the steps and get the Electrify from the chest. Head back to the previous area and go south a bit until you see you can head right. Do so and you'll come to a split up. Go south and fight the Oberon Employee there to get an ID Card. Head back to the room where you got the Electrify and hop into the conveyor belt. It'll take into a room with two more belts. Hop into the one that goes south and let it take you to an area with another belt as well as a door. Examine the blue symbol next to the door to unlock it. Then, go through it. Fight off the employee there to get additional tips about a password we'll need to figure out soon. Then, get both items here. Head back to the room with the pits(you should know which one it is) and head right and then north. Go across the plank and go through the door. In the next area, check the monitor to the left for an additional tip on the password. Then, go south and check the monitor on the right for another tip. Go south some more into a hallway. Head to the left. Fight the employee and he'll reveal something that we already know =) Then, pick up the Gale Staff along with two other items here. Exit this room and head all the way to the right into the next screen. Examine the monitor here and input the password: 3rd option and 4th Option are the choices you should make. This'll unlock the door north from the monitor. Go through it and fight the employee to get the ID Card(Red). Head back to the previous screen and run to the right. Look for a door with a red panel next to it. Examine the panel to unlock the door with your Red ID Card. Then, go through it. In the next room, go north and look for a door to the right. Go through it and get the Fine Shield and Oberon EX from the chests. Head back and continue north and head left. You can head north then or go south. First, go south and look for a door on the left side of the screen. You'll find a save point inside: make good use of it. Then, go north and head toward the top-left side of the screen. There are two doors there. The one next to the blue pipe leads into an Oberol G, while the other one, will lead us further into the factory. Head north and approach the employee. He'll say that the area is restricted. But hey, the factory isn't even operational, how can there be restricted areas!? Rutee demands for Hugo's presence but the only thing we'll get is a fight with the employee. Beat the crap outta it and its partners and then go through the door. You'll be taken underground then. Go down the steps in front of you and go south into the next screen. Here, head to the left and go through the door there. Get the Strike Axe from the chest and head back to the previous screen. Then, head right and through a door. In the next area, go south and follow the path to the left util you find a door going south. Head through it. Go south and across the wood plank and then left, also across a wood plank and then through a door. In the next screen, go across the plank that goes north to get a Silver Plate, and then go across the plank that goes west. Go north two planks and through a huge door. In the next area, go north across another plank and you'll see a door to the right. If you want, go through to get some items, otherwise go across the plank to the left(can you say... planktastic!) and north across another plank and then through a huge door. In the next area, go all the way north. Then, head left and get the Ankh Shield. Afterward, head all the way to the right and through the door. In the next screen, go south and head through a door there. Head to the right and go up the rocky steps. Go through the door there and then head right looking for another door. Go through it. Watch the cutscene... ------------------ BOSS: Leon It's quite sad that he's so easy! Blast him constantly with Dragon Blade and Fiery Wave while Philia uses Holy Lance(or anything else if you haven't got that spell), Garr uses Power and Rutee concentrates on healing. ------------------ Watch the cutscenes, hop into the Draconis and watch some more cutscenes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ALL HELL STARTS TO BREAK LOOSE! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Aeropolises have formed, along with is mass-destruction weapon called Belcrant. The world map music has changed, and there are shadows all over the place. You'll be on the world map, right next to Darilshied. Head inside and run toward the castle and talk with the king. After this, head into the harbor and talk with your captain. He'll leave you inside the underwater city we explored earlier in the game. Head toward where you found Clemente and Raiker will explain that you need a boot disc as well as an assistant. He'll also give you a horn, and you'll be ablo to summon the Sea Dragon... BERNARDO! with it on town's ports. Now, before we get ourselves an assitant, it'd be good to recruit some party members. You can select two out of three: Chelsea, Bruiser Khang or Karyl. Karyl is teh sux0rz, so I'd go with Chelsea and Khang. Chelsea is in Heidelberg's castle while Khang is in Fitzgald's capital(the one with the strange name that starts with N =) but you'll have to beat him before he joins. No biggie. If you plant on using Chelsea, be sure to leve her up before you get her at level _2_(holy flying hot crap!). I really didn't use her 'coz I'd have to spend too much time with her, but it's always good to have an extra party members =) Khang joins you at level 22, but he's worth leveling up. Not right now, but later on. And he's also very powerful, even though he's so low-leveled. Our assistant could be a Junk Hunter from Junkland, a priest from The Tower of Knowledge or Dr. Otto on Darilshied. Go for Dr. Otto, because for the other two you'd have to do some extra walking while you can dock your dragon in Darilshied just fine. Talk with the king who directs you to Otto, of course. To get to his lab, head outside the castle and into its frontyard and head to the far left and through the door there(the one that's on the leftmost corner). Inside, talk with the scientist near the desk(the other one is an annoying bastard) and he'll join you. Board your dragon and head toward Radisrol(it's one the sea east of Calvalese --the demon's reef--) and into the control room(you know, where you found Clemente) for a cutscene. After it, you'll learn that you need to find a Boot Disc. Board Bernardo and head toward Lienea's( Stahn Hometown) coastline looking for a cave. When you find it, enter it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HIDDEN TEMPLE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head north until you find a door with an sword symbol next to it. Examine it and leave somebody behind. Continue forward, leaving party members behind and you'll eventually reach two staircases going up. Take either one of them and keep going up and north toward a balcony with three chests on them. Approach it and beat the crap out of the Dragon Knight that protects it. Afterward, open all three to find the Boot Disc, Purity and T. Spirit. Now, head all the way back to the beginning, picking up your party members along the way. Once you pick up the first party members you left behind a cutscene ensues. Belcrant fires and beats the crap outta Terazzi. Afterward, head out the temple and board Bernardo. Head into Radisrol once again and make your way to the control room. Watch the cutscene. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AETHERSPHERE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ First off, exit Radisrol. You'll be on the Aethersphere's "world map". Head west and then east when you first can. Follow the path to a pyramid. Enter it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ IGNASEA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head forward across the bridge to enter the Aeropolis properly. Head to the right and go up to find a strange device. Step into it. IGNASEA LEVEL 3: Head left and go up when you first can. Follow the path to a blue square. Step into it and it'll take you below. Get the Oberol G that's below and go back up. From the square, head right and go north when you first can. Follow the path to another square. Step into it. Then, go south all the way and head left when you can. Look for a blue _circle_ and step into it. In the next area, get the chests that are to the south and go back up. From the circle, head right and step into the square. Go north and head to the left afterward and step into another circle. In the next area, head to the right and go up the steps. Afterward, head right some more until you can go up. You'll find the warp gate. It's been destroyed! The party will return back to Radisrol and will be informed about the situation. We'll have to go back to Ignasea and look for a different warp gate to use. On your way out Radisrol, you may want to stop by the inn and rest. Anyway, head back to Ignasea, specifically level 3. When you do, go all the way up and step into the square. Below, head west and step inside the circle there. Head north into the next screen. Go across the blue field heading to the right until you find another bridge. Cross it and in the next area, where you should head right and down the steps. Keep going down and you'll eventually reach a teleporter that takes you into level 1. Here, go north and then to the left into another circle. Go past it and go south and take the first blue square you see. You'll be on level 2. Here, get the SW190180 disc from the chest to the right and go back down. Go up a bit and head to the right(the circle to the left leads to an Emerald Ring) and ignore the circle. Afterward, head all the way back to the blue square and go up into level 2. Go up and step on the circle. Follow the path toward a yellow circle that'll drop you into level 3. Go down, right and go up north. Head right some more and down into a square that'll take you down. Go north and use the elevator to go down. Follow the path to a circle and step into it. In the next screen, go north and you'll arrive at the warp room. First off, STEP INTO THE BLUE PANEL HERE. You'll be taken back to the beginning. Don't worry. Step on it again and you'll be right inside the warp room! Later on we'll have to come back so better activate this panel, right? Then, go through the red window and step into the light. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ JOSAIA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This place is a pain in the ass. You have to go around collecting eggs to enter new areas. It's also quite linear, and that's a bless, if you ask me. Also, battles aren't random: you can see enemies flying around. First off, head south into level 1. Then, head left until you come to a split up. Go up left and down to get the first egg. Head back to the split-up and go down and you'll come into another fork(second fork). Head left, down and then right to find the second egg. Head left a bit and go down immediately, and head left to find the third egg. Then, head to the right and follow the path toward a purple square. Right before it there you should be a pathway going up. Follow it to find the fourth egg. Head back to the purple square. It's now blue! Step into it. In level 2, go up and pick the egg to the right. Continue going up until you come to a split-up. Go left and up and get the egg. Go back down and head left and down. Pick the egg to the left and continue heading down. Take the first left you can and you'll come into another split up. First, go up and snag the egg, and then go down and snag another egg. Afterward, step into the blue square. In level 3, go upward and right when you can. You'll see that there are four pathways: two going up and two going down. Take the first one going up for an egg and the second one going down for another egg. Then, continue to the right. Go up when you can and get the egg to the right. Then, go back down and head further to the right. When you can, go up, right, down, left, down, right and up to find another egg. Go back where you found the previous egg and continue going up. Take a right and step into the blue square. In level 4, go down left, up, down and take the first left you can to get the first egg. Continue down into a split up. Head left and take the second pathway going up to get another egg. Proceed to the left and go down to get the third egg. Then, go up and get the fourth egg on your way. Keep going up and get the fifth egg to the left. Afterward, head right and down. Step into the square. In level 5 there are a couple of items(Arc Wing, Bear Claw, Strenghthen disc) that'll you have to find out yourself. The exit to this level is to the northeast. It's a blue circle, so step into it. In the next screen, step on the blue panel and use it to travel back and forth between the entrance and this area. This way, you'll activate it for future usage. Then, go north and you'll appear in the Athersphere world map. Head north toward Mikheil, represented as a red dot in your map. Get inside. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MIKHEIL ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Right after you start, head across the bridge into the next screen. Here, make sure the switch on the middle of the room is shining blue. If it is, head to the far right and step in the yellow platform there. Ride it through to the next area. Here, go a bit to the left and ride the red platform in the middle of the room. Afterward, head to the far left and ride the yellow platform up. In the next screen, head to the left and into the next area where you'll find a red platform. Ride it and then go down. Step in the purple teleporter and you'll be taken to Mikheil's level 1. Go down, left, down and head a bit to the right and go down when you first can. Proceed down until you can make a right. Follow the square-shaped pathway and you'll eventually reach a teleporter. Go up it. In level 2, there a few square of the pathways that disappear and appear constantly. If you're in them when they disappear, you'll fall off, so be careful. Anyway, head left across two sets of magic squares and you'll reach a teleporting circle. Step on it. In the next screen, use the yellow platform and head to the right to collect a Rare Shield. Afterward, head back to level 2, but be sure you hit switch D right before the yellow platform. Back in level 2, head all the way to the right until you reach the square. Then, go up and step on the circle there. Hit switch C there and ride the red platform upward. In the next screen, head to the left and use the yellow platform to go down. Step in the circle there and you'll be back on level 2, but on a different area. Follow the pathways to the left and you'll eventually reach the square that'll take you up. In level 3, go down across the square and then head right, all the way across another square. Go down afterward. Go all the way down following either pathway you want: you'll eventually reach an area with two circles. Step on the rightmost one. In the next screen, ride the yellow platform and then head to the left. In the next screen, go up and follow the path toward a gray platform. Ride it up to get the Burning Sword. Head all the way back to the two circles and step on the rightmost one. In the next screen, head right and follow the path toward another gray platform. Ride it up . In the next area, hit the green switch to make a green platform come toward you. Ride it upward. Then, head all the way up(take note of that red platform) until you find a gray platform. Step on it and activate both switches here. Head back to the red platform I told you to take note about. Notice that it there is also a gray platform next to it. Ride the gray platform instead and hit the blue switch there. Ride back and go down a bit, then head left. Step on the red platform that goes further to the left and afterward on the gray platform that goes up. Then, step on the light-blue platform. Head left, and go down the light-blue platform(ahoy! too many platforms!) to get a Holy Bottle. Ride back up, head to the right and go down the light- blue platform. Take note of this reference point, "blue point", and head back to the blue switch we hit a while ago. Hit it back down, and head back to blue point. Ride the red platform that's to the right, and then the dark-blue platform that's to the left. Go up, left, down and across the blue platform there. Then, go down and ride the yellow platform. You'll see you can go down two gray platforms. First, go down the leftmost one, pick up the Hourglass, and go down the white platform. Head to the right and ride the white platform up. You'll come across two more gray platforms. Ride the bottom one to get a Oberol G, and then ride the top one. You'll come across another split-up: a gray platform that goes up, and a blue platform that goes down. Ride the blue platform down and step on the circle. Head to the right and step on the teleporter to be taken to the next level. Head to the left and step on the circle there. In the next area, ride the gray platform. In the next screen, run all the way to the right and go down when you can. Ride the yellow platform down. In the next screen, activate switch H that's directly next to the yellow platform, and switch G that's one screen to the left. Head back to where the yellow platform left you and go down. Ride the white platform and then head further left. Ride the red platform and head into the next screen. Go up and get the Winged Boots and Demon Arrow from the chests, and save/heal. Afterward, step on the purple circle. In level 4, head right across some squares, all the way until you've got no choice but to go down. Do so and take the first left you can. Go across the squares towards a rest point. Go across some more squares toward another rest point, and so on until you reach a complete pathway(the first one). Go down it, across another set of squares, and then head right across two sets of squares and you'll reach a teleporter(I didn't call it square this time around because you may end up confused ^_^). Step on it. In the next level, head all the way up to reach a circle. Step on it. In the next screen, there is a puzzle that's quite a pain to figure out! Anyway, notice that to the left there is a block, and to the right a spring that you can push down. Once you push it down, however, it'll ride back up. Move the block near the spring, and push it down(the spring). As it rides back up, quickly run toward the block and push it in front of the spring to block it. Then, go through the thin path here that goes north, all the way, until you find Rembrandt! ------------------ BOSS: Rembrandt You WILL start WEAK no MATTER WHAT!!!! Immediately use a Miracle Gel on all of your characters, and being your assault! I was using Bruiser, Garr, Rutee and Stahn, but you can use whomever you want, of course. Anyway, with Bruiser I used 1-2 Combo, with Garr I used Power, Rutee healed and pulled off and occassional Bloody Rose, while Stahn duked it out with Fiery Wave and Dragon Blade. If you have Philia, she could use Holy Lance, I guess, or any other powerful spell. Chelsea wouldn't fare well on this battle, in my opinion. Karyl, I have no idea. Magic also works well on him. Also, I'd like to point out that Rembrandt's defense is high. I casted Acid Rain on him, it worked, and the battle was easier. ------------------ After the battle, Rembrandt will explode and Marian will escape. Watch the following cutscenes. After them, exit the Sky Cruiser and you'll be in front of Josaia. Now, we must visit either Deimos & Cloudius, or Rodeon & Helraios(yeah, they come in pairs =D) I'd recommend going to Rodeon & Helraios first. How do you get there? Head back to Ignasea's warp room(use Josaia's blue teleporting circle to get to Joasai's warp room. Here, go through the blue window and step on the light to arrive at Ignasea) and go through the green window. Step on the light and you'll arrive at Rodeon! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RODEON ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You'll arrive at the local warp room. Head out of it into Rodeon's dungeon. Here, you can pick up bombs from the bomb dispenser on the bottom-right portion of the screen and blow your enemies up with them. How? Hit them with the S. Ring and they'll go kaboom! Anyway, head down and then left. Go up when you first can, all the way up, until you can't continue. Then, go a bit to the right and go up. Blast the enemy here using a bomb(there is another dispenser to the far right) and follow the path to a square. Step on it and you'll be taken down. Once you arrive, go up and then right until you can go down. Do so and go around the bomb dispenser and continue down until you can take a left. Go around the bomb dispenser and go down afterward. Turn right, then down, then right. You'll see a square to the far right: ignore it and head down. Turn left and follow the path toward another square. Step on it. Below, go up and step on the square. Then, go down, left and all the way down. Step on the square. Then, go up, looking for a circle. Step on it(you can't miss it). In the next screen, I'd recommend activating the blue teleporter(you know how) and then going north to finally exit this place. In the Aethersphere's world map, head west toward the red dot that's on a peninsula-like structure. This is Helraios. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HELRAIOS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go through the door at the entrance. In the next screen, go right and then through a door on the bottom of the screen. Head right and go up the steps. Go through the white door and then go down the steps. Head through the door that's on the far left portion of the room(the one in the middle requires a card key---take note of it.) In the next screen, go through the white door that's on the top-right side of the room. In the next room, pick up all of the chests and go through the door that goes south. Here, go left and then up. The flamethrower will hit you, but once it does, you'll have the chance to go through the door. You'll arrive at a room full of conveyor belts and crap. Go up the steps to the left. Step on the conveyor belt that goes right. Go up on your second chance, and then go up once again. Afterward, head right, and when you stop, go up. Get the Green Gel from the chest and step on the conveyor belt that goes left. Once it stops, go up a bit and step on another conveyor belt. Then, go through the door. In the next room, you've got four choices: the three doors that are at the top of the screen, or the door that's on the bottom right portion of it. Go through the top-right one to get a Volcano and a Juicy Beef. The middle one will let you nab a Card Key, and the top-left one some more Juicy Beef. Now, remember the door I told you to take note about? The one that required a card key. Head back there and go through the now un-lockable door. In the next screen, go north and unlock that door too. In the next room, go to the left and pick up both Juicy Beefs. Head back to the previous screen and go north. You can go through the door here(I'll call it DOOR A), or head further to the right. Head right and then go up. You'll find two doors: go through the leftmost to get a Fire Claw. Head back to DOOR A and go through it. Continue north and through a white door. In the next room, head right and through the yellow door. Afterward, run through the flamethrower hallway and through the door at its end. Use the Save Point and then head through the white door in this room. Examine the monitor here and it's time for HELRAIOS PASSWORD OF DOOM!!!! Anyway, first, input GIFT, and then input FATE. How, you ask? You'll see that the game gives you four sets of letters: select the set that has the letter you want to input, and then input the letter! Once the door unlocks, go through it. In the next screen, get the Laser Blade and run north through the flamethrowers. Go through the door at the end of the room. In the next screen, you'll meet Ilene. She must obey Hugo because she's part of the Oberon Corp.(now, that's what I call nonsense). Because of this, you'll have to fight her! ------------------ BOSS: Ilene Ignore all the stuff Ilene calls for and simply attack her, constantly! Normal attacks do a helluva lot of damage on her, but you should use your techs so the battle finishes faster. It's an easy fight. ------------------ After Ilene kills herself, Igtenos will be revived! Equip it as your Swordian, but not as your weapon on Garr. Why? You see, Igtenos starts off very, very weak. As long as you have him as your swordian, he'll start to level up. You don't need to equip it as your weapon. Afterward, get the Winged Boots here and use them to exit Helraios. In the world map, head back to Rodeon and step on the blue teleporter to reach the warp room. Here, go through the yellow window and step on the light so you'll be taken to Deimos! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DEIMOS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Start off by exiting the warp area. The adjacent hallway is totally dark, but don't worry! There are no random battles here! Head down and look for a hallway that goes left. Take it and afterward go upward into the next screen. Proceed to the left until Stahn is below a pipe-like structure. When he is, go north into the next screen. Keep going north until you see a flight of steps that take you into a raised area. Go up them and advance northwards to find a door that requires three keys! Go back down the steps and hug along the leftmost wall. Advance south looking for a flight of stairs that go down. Take them and get the guitar. Now, head back to the previous room, the one with the pipe-like structure and head southward. In the next screen you should spot a moving rat. These are enemies, of course! Advance a bit down and wait for a rat to come around the steps. Beat it to a pulp to get the Gold Key. Then, go down the steps and run to the right, scouting the area, until you eventually find the second rat, who'll hand over the Bronze Key. Continue with your exploration around the western side of the room, where you'll find the third rat who'll hand over the Iron Key. Immediately head back to the room with the door that required three keys and unlock it. In the next room, examine the strange, white-thing from the frontside to activate it. Now, head back to the room with the rats and head east. You'll have to go down some steps and into a long hallway. At the end of it you'll find the Score C. Return back to the rat room and head west. Go down the steps and into the next area. Here, go up the staircase and run to the right until you find a long string of chest containing mainly Gels. Head back once again to the rat room and go to the southmost portion of it; go right and go down a long hallway until you can steer left. Continue left until you find a stone-door. Go through it, activate the teleporter there and go further south to exit Deimos and hit the world map. Head east and then north looking for the only red dot you can enter(it's on a peninsula). For further information, it's a pyramid full of vines. You can't miss it once you're near it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CLOUDIUS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jungle-like maze uh? Quite cool, although it's as boring as the previous dungeons. Anyway, head south and step on the circle to start the dungeon! In level 1, head a bit to the left to find another circle. Step on it and then head to the right. Get the Crescent Bow off the chest, and ride back to level 1. Go right and then north, until you can go further. Then, turn left and go up when you first can. Proceed left, up, left when you can, and then go down, ALL THE WAY. Step on the teleporter. In level 2, go up until you come to a split-up. Head left and then upward. Step on the teleporter to be taken to level 3. In level 3, go down a bit and then go left. Proceed down afterward, and at the bottom, head all the way to the right til you find yet another teleporter. Ride it up. In level 4, go up and left to arrive at a branching path. Go up a bit and turn left when you first can. Go down the first pathway you see and step on the circle there. In the next screen, get the GC Rod, P. Ring and Elven Cape off the chests. Head back to level 4 and proceed further west until you can go north. Do so and you'll eventually be able to head right. Go up afterward and you'll reach the teleporter that'll take you to level 5. In level 5, go down, all the way to the bottom of the screen. Then, turn left and go northward along the pathways until you eventually reach a circle. Step on it. In the next screen, BE SURE TO EXAMINE THE PEDESTAL TO THE RIGHT, for it is the only chance you have! Answer Flare Tornado and Force to get the Hellfire skill. Afterward, go up the staircase here. In the next screen, save up and head right. Go up afterward and through the door. In the next screen, you'll see a huge cross on the center of the room. Ignore it for now and go through the door at the top of the room. In the next screen, go through the centermost door to reach a room that looks like the one with the cross. Get the Tornado off the chest and push down the huge star sphere here off the leftmost hole. Head back to the room with the cross, and put the yellow moon sphere on the clock, at the bottom part of the cross. Push the sun sphere toward the top of the cross. Lastly, move the little silver moon sphere toward the yellow ring that's on the bottom left side of the room, and put it above it. The sphere and the ring will "fuse". Put the "fusion" on the rightmost hand of the cross. Afterward, stand in the center of the room and shoot the sun up with the S. Ring. Afterward, head back to level 5(save along the way). Go down toward the bottom, then head right. Go up across a long pathway to reach a green teleporter. Ignore it and head right. Look for a circle and step on it. In the next screen, head northward and through the door. The party will find no other than Baruk! He's now bad, too! And you'll have to kick his ass! ------------------ BOSS: Baruk, Earthworm x 3 Ignore the earthworms and have Stahn rush toward Baruk. Use Fiery Wave, Dragon Blade or any other powerful skill you have in your inventory on him, while your party members deal with the earthworms. It should be an easy battle. ------------------ After the battle, get the egg off the chest that's on Baruk's sit, and examine the wall behind it. Watch the cutscene. Afterward, try to exit the room and another cutscene will ensue. After it, use some W. Boots to exit Cloudius. The sphere's world map looks different, eh? Head to Radisrol. How, you ask? Walking! It's south from Cloudius, not far away. Once you arrive, be sure to heal and stock up on items. Afterward, head inside Ignasea and use the teleporter to reach the warp area. Travel to Josaia, exit it and ride the Sky Cruiser to Belcrant! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BELCRANT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: Be careful with the Balrogs here(LOTR came out first if you're wondering) as they cast Demon's Lance exclusively, for 1500 PTS of DMG! In fact, pretty much every enemy here is a magic caster, and a good one at that! After the short cutscene, exit out the docking bay and step on the teleporter to start this dungeon, that's(you guessed it) pretty much the same thing as the other dungeons. Thanks God it's the last one =P First off, step on the arrow that's right in front of the green teleporter to be taken to level 2. Right in front of you there will be a chest that contains the Blizzard disc. From the chest, go south to find another teleporter. Ride it up to level 3. Here, simply run a bit forward and you'll find the next teleporter in the center of the area. Ride it too. Once you arrive at level 4, run north for the next teleporter. In level 5, run south and get the Mercy off the chest. Return to the teleporter that took you here and go left. Eventually, you'll see you can go south. Do so(be sure to hug along the leftmost side of the area) til you reach the next teleporter. Step on it. In the next level, proceed east toward the center of the room, where you'll find a green circle. Step on it to be taken to Belcrant's "engine room". Inside, step on the rightmost circle(the one with an arrow that points upwards) to be taken back to level 1. Ride back up to the last level(explore around the levels to find an extra disc as well as a sword) and step on the green dot once again. This time around, you'll meet Hugo! ------------------ BOSS: Hugo A very easy battle indeed. Have Stahn lead your attack with constant blasts of his Dragon Blade as well as his Spin Slash. Your other characters should use whatever they can to deal maximum damage. I was using Bruiser, Garr and Rutee. They kicked major ass, with Mirage, 1-2 Combo and Bloody Rose. Philia should use her Holy Lance. ------------------ Now comes a series of juicy and interesting cutscenes! Pay attention, for they will reveal our new enemy: Kronos! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ THE WORLD NEEDS HELP! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You'll be told that some towns are under enemy attack. These towns are: Darilshied(not really), Harmentz, Cresta and Armeida. Save whichever town you want by killing some monsters and return to the king. Before you talk with him, you may want to level up around Darilshied(the enemies are now different and give out a huge moolah of EXP.) Get Stahn to level 48 and examine the pedestal outside Darilshied's castle. Answer Dragon Blade and Fiery Wave to get the Assassin, which is extremely powerful. Once you've gotten it, talk with the king, who directs you to the war room, upstairs. Head there( you'll have to climb around the castle's western wing to find it) and talk with the assistant who explains everything. Afterward, we'll have to go to two places: the Swordian R & D Lab and the Trash Mountain(*shiver*) The Trash Mountain is by far then toughest of them, so be ready! Head to the Lab first, I says. It's just north of Armedia. Once you enter, be sure you outfit Stahn with a different weapon, not Dymlos( keep him as your Swordian though) as this place's enemies are fire based. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SWORDIAN R & D LAB ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: Although pretty much everybody here is fire based, I've found a light based enemy called Ray. I mention this because I was using the Laser Blade with Stahn and ended up healing the thing! At the entrance, go north until you see a bridge to your right. Go across it. Right before it finishes, you'll spot a pillar. Fire at it with your S. Ring and then proceed northward. Go across the newly formed bridge and turn left afterward. Look for a pathway that goes north. Take it and head into the next area. Go right and step on the metal platform. To the right there is a chest with a V. Sword. Pick it up and go down into the next screen. Here, examine the pedestal to the left. If you're at the right level, you'll be able to read it and answer the questions it makes. I was not ready at the time, and I never came back, so you're on your own here! Get the RC Rod off the chest and go back to the previos screen. Get on the rocky platform where the V. Sword was and proceed north into the next screen. This part is a bit tricky. You see, there are various pillars that serve as bridges to square shaped platforms. Your goal is to the reach the door on the northern end of the room. Strangely, when you step on certain platforms, you'll be taken back to the beginning! To fix this phenomena, step on the yellow tile at the beginning of the area. I really don't know how many times you'll have to do this. There are also pillars in this room that can be shot with the S. Ring, but I don't know what roles they play. Only one seems to be useful: the bridge that'll take you out of this maze has a gap on it, and the pillar next to it must be shot in order to get across. There will be a brown tile next to a hole(door) on the wall. Do not step on this tile! Go through the door. Head left and go down. In the next portion of this room, you'll see two bridges: the top one has a gap on it. To fix it, head into the bottom bridge and hit the pillar with your S. Ring. That way, you'll be able to get a Beam Shield. To proceed with the dungeon, go across the bottom bridge and head through the doorway there. The next room is a puzzle room, and a tough one at that! There is a machine right in front of the entrance, and a bunch of pillars scattered around the room. Okay, so, here we go! Examine the machine at the entrance to create a ray of light. You'll see that it goes across various pillars. De-activate the laser, and put yourself in front of the first row of pillars. There is a lone one to the left, and three to the right. The second row has three pillars to the left, and a lone to right. The third row has four pillars, all together and the last row has five pillars, all together. Let's check this map, where I give each pillar a random letter: X Y Z P N | This is basically how the pillars are laid out. Now, to solve S F R W | the puzzle, put yourself in front of the "L" pillar and tap L M N H | circle to flip its direction. Afterward, fip "M"'s direction. A B C D | Shift "S"'s direction afterward. Lastly, flip "H" direction. Once you solve the puzzle, step on the shining platform at the top of the room and then go through the door. In the next screen, a cutscene ensues and your Swordians will be powered up! Afterward, exit this place(you'll have to walk) and head back to Darilshied. Head into the harbor and talk with the captain, who'll tell you he's going to Calvalese. Tell him you want a ride. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FULL OF TRASH ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you arrive at Calvalese, exit Cherik and go north. Once you arrive at Kalviola(don't enter), veer west and look for the Junkland(check your map on your Valuables screen). It's behind some mountains. Once you find it, enter it. Inside, look for the items shop and buy Neutralizers. These are needed to complete the following dungeon, so I'd suggest buying all 15 of them. After you've gotten them, head toward the northeastern part of town, where the entrance to the Trash Mountain is. Talk with the guard and he'll let you pass. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TRASH MOUNTAIN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The gas around here will make you lose health, so pop on a Neutralizer to create a protective cloud around you. Once it wears off, use another. Be sure you mantain yourself healthy! Here we go! Go north into the next screen. Proceed forward and you'll eventually reach a branching path. You can go left or right. Go left firsthand and examine the wall at the end of the path to destroy it(there are many of these in this dungeon). Proceed to the left and go down when you can, into the next area. Continue downward and look for a rope going down. Take it. In the next screen, get the W. Boots off the chest and go down the rope here too. Below, go around the big boulder here and proceed to the right into the next screen. Here, get the ?HELM off the chest. Use a Rune Bottle on it, or Philia's Identify ability to get a Star Helm. Now, backtrack all the way to the first branch(remember it?) and go right this time around. Go north and turn right when you can. You'll see a door. Ignore it and take down the wall to the right. Proceed up all the way and you'll eventually reach an area with a rope. Go down it and head to the right. In the next screen, keep going right until you reach a branch. You can go up or down. Go down and you'll come right into another branch! Take the leftmost pathway and go down. Then, head to the left, hugging along the bottom wall. Once you see a path going south, take good note of it, but continue left. In the next screen, go down when you can and go left at your first chance. Look for a rope that goes down and take it. Below, go south and then right. Grab the boulder here and push up the path. Then, push it to the right and into the hole that blocks you off. This way, you'll create an artificial bridge. There is a wall to smash here, but before you do so, continue south to find a Thunder Disc. Afterward, backtrack and smash the wall. Head all the way to the left into the next screen. Here, go up and smash the wall at the top. Go through the hole to reach a small chamber with a SW400400 Disc and a Flare Rod. Once you've picked them up, head back to the previous screen and continue west until you reach the next area. When you do, simply follow the path until you reach yet another bifurcation. You can go further south, or head to the right. Go right and follow the path to a boulder. Take it with you back to the bifurcation and go south. Put the boulder on the hole to create a bridge and go across it. Head to the right afterward and go down into the next screen. Here, follow the path(it's quite linear) and you'll eventually find a white, shiny stone on the floor. Pick it up(it's Belselium). Afterward, use the W. Boots you found earlier to get the hell outta here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LENS HUNTING! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ride back to Darilshied and get out of it. Examine the Draconis that's right next to Darilshied. You'll be taken inside. Talk with the people there for a cutscene. Afterward, head back and talk with the king. Now, we must collect some special Lens to use on the Lens cannon. These are in Harmentz, Straylize Forest and Cresta. First off, head to Harmentz. Inside, head to Walt's mansion(the big-ass house that's on the northmost part of the town). Head toward his room. Before talking to him, enter the small room south of where he is and examine the drawer there to get the Old Cane. Use a Rune Bottle on it. You now have the three rods needed to access the Tower of Druaga. Talk with Walt who'll give you his Lens for all of your money. Agree. As you try to leave, he'll return you your money! Good, I was about to cry =) Afterward, head to Cresta. Inside, head into the mayor's house(look around, don't be lazy) and talk with him. He doesn't know the *exact* location of the Lens, but I know, so bah! Head to the Orphanage's frontyard and dig the are in front of the tree(just tap circle). You will find nothing. Head into the orphanage itself afterwarrd(check the bathroom and talk to the kid there for a bit of fun) and chat with the nuns. One wil tell you about the shed and a tree that used to be there. So, head into the shed and start digging! You'll find the Lens soon enough. The last one requires a bit of walking, but anyway... First off, be sure to talk with the Armedian mayor at Darilshied's war room. Afterward, head into the Straylize Forest(east of Armedia). AT the entrance, take the path that goes right to reach a small area with a pedestal as well as an ogre. Beat the crap outta it to get your Lens. Head back to Darilshied afterward and talk with Lerwin near the cannon to hand over all of your lens. Once you give them to him, go and talk with the king. Watch the cutscenes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ OFF WE GO! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is it my friend! Raiker gave it all to create a path into Dycroft and we must use it! The Draconis is now fully functional and you can use it to fly into the heavens for the final showdown against Kronos. However, before doing so, you may want to spend some quality time completing sidequests and such! I'd recommend doing all of them, ESPECIALLY the Tower of Druaga, as you'll earn numerous and useful items! Once you're good to go, board the Draconis and set sail to Dycroft. Godspeed man! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DYCROFT - PATH TO HEAVEN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You'll arrive at the docks, so just move onward to enter the dungeon itself. Save and proceed forward to arrive at a branching path. Go left and follow the path to small balcony where you'll find a Star Shield. Afterward, backtrack to the branch and go right for a weapon for Karyl. Lastly, go north into the next area. Proceed north to a big mirror. If you stand in front of it, you'll be teleporter into another room. There is nothing in this room, so go ahead and teleport yourself. After you do, go down. In the next screen, go up the stairs and proceed right. You'll find another mirror. Have it teleport you. In the next area, go down and get a Fragment(you'll need to find three more) as well as Terra. Go back and go down the stairs to the right and follow the path toward another staircase going up. In the next screen, proceed upward into the next area. Afterward, head left and go down the stairs to come to another branching path(point a). Head left into the next screen. Here, go up the steps to find a chest that contains an SP300410 Disc. After you've gotten it, go through the door behind it. In the small alcove you'll find the second fragment as well as a Star Glove. Get them both and head back to the previous screen. Proceed further to the left to find yet another mirror. Have it teleport you. You'll arrive at a branching path, which I'll call point b. Head left and follow the path to the next area. In here, go up the steps to find three more mirrors. Go through the one to the left for the third fragment, and the middle one for a Star Cape. Afterward, go through the rightmost mirror. In the following screen, go down and turn left. Go up the steps and proceed north across the room find a staircase going up. Take it. In the next screen, go down and step on the circle. You'll be teleporter to a dark prison and you'll be as Stahn alone. Get out of your cell and check the area to find your friends. Be sure to check the area well as the fourth fragment is in here, as well as a Soul Steel. Once you have all of your party members as well as the fragment, exit the room through the top-left staircase(go up the stairs in the middle of the cell block Stahn was in. You'll find two of your party members. Here is the top-left staircase I'm talking about). In the next area, proceed to the left. Save and afterward go down. In the next screen, proceed downward and step on the circle yet again. This time, because you've got the four fragments, you'll get the Delis Emblem. Proceed further south into the next screen. Here, head to the left and go down the hallway at the end of the path. As you arrive in the next screen, go down. AT the bottom, you'll see you can go right and up a staircase, or instead, go through a hallway to the left. Go through the hallway first to get a Resist Ring. Head back afterward and head right and upstairs. Proceed right and go down once you can. In the next screen, head right and you'll find a huge staircase. Go up them. Continue upward. Eventually, you'll reach a room with a lot of pillars, each one with a mirror on its front. You've got to find the correct mirror to break in order to reveal the path to the next world. This mirror is on the third row of mirrors. It's the one on the far left. It's right next to a mirror that's against the wall. Anyway, once you've identified it, blast it to reveal a staircase. Go up it and in the next screen, follow the path(watch the windows blow up!) to reach a door. Go through it. The final piece of pie has been served... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CRYSTAL MAZE - GRAND FINALE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: This s how the "crystal pointing" works: ` -NORTH- -WEST- *UP -EAST- -SOUTH- In the floor below each crystal there is a patter with some symbols on it. x symbol will light up if you're facing x direction. For example, If I tell you to make a crystal point up, move it so the center symbol lights up. The other directions are very basic and you should know them, but I tell you, the up direction gave me the most trouble, and it'd give you trouble if weren't for this guide(and a certain messageboard poster who got me through this!) Save and go through the door right in front of the save point. Step on the octagon(or was it hexagon? pentagon? who the hell cares?) You'll see a black haze and afterward, you'll be as Stahn alone! Apparently, you were separated(big-ass DOH!). Do not worry, as there aren't random battles here, although putting yourself in front of a mirror will trigger a fight against a clone of Stahn. Will solve that in a minute... Anyway, leave the room and head right. Once you can go down, do so and head into the next screen. Here, go south immediately. In the following room, grab the white coffin and drag it with you. Put it in front of the mirror. That way, you'll prevent a battle against Dark Stahn. After you've put the coffin, move on until you see some steps going up. Take them and examine the crystal there to blast it into little pieces. Afterward, go back down and take your coffin again. Drag it with you and block another mirror, then move forward. You'll see two mirrors and a coffin between them. Just ignore them and head into the next screen. Here, go up to find a switch. Flip it and proceed to the right. You'll see a path that goes right, and one that goes north. First, take the one right to find a dark room. Get the Faerie Ring there. While still on the dark room, head to the right and hug along the southmost wall. Hug on it and move around and you'll eventually find a door. It'll take you to another room with another pentagon(Oooo... it was a pentagon). Step on it to talk with your friends. Now, head back to the dark room and this time around, hug along the right wall to find a room with a yellow crystal. You need to point it north. After you do, head back two screens(past the dark room) to the room where the switch is. Go south and look for a path on the eastern corner. Take it to find a room with the green crystal. Make it point east. Head out and head back to where the big crystal that shattered used to be. Proceed west and through the door. Back in this room, head to the left and be sure you don't step on the dark hexagons here. You'll find the blue crystal. Make it point to the center. Then, go up and then right. Go through the door. In the next screen, head to the top-right corner of the room and enter the alcove there. The clear crystal there should be pointing west. Head out and go to the bottom-right corner of the room. Go through the door there. In the next screen, use the coffin to block the mirrors and get the Cutie Mitten off the chest. Continue right to a fork. Go north to find a door. Go through it. In the next room, flip the switch. Go through the southeastern path, here in the room. Hopefully, the room will be dark. Head east and take the Star Cloak off the chest. Continue east and huge along the wall to find the door. It'll take you to the purple crystal. Have it point south. Head back to the dark room. Make your may to the southern tip of the room, and the go right. Proceed up afterward. You'll eventually arrive at a lit room. Here, take the coffin with you as you go right. At the end of the room, go through the north door. The red crystal there should point east. Head back and go south to find the last crystal. Have it point west. Now, backtrack the room where you talked to your friends and step on the pentagon. If you've put the crystals correctly, you'll be teleported and reunited with them. Happiness. Save at the outside area and head to the right. Go through the door there. In the next room, head right and go down into the next screen. Here, head down until you find a circle on the floor. Step on it to light up the place, and go up a bit, but don't head back to the previous area. Go left to find a mirror. Have it teleport you. In the next screen, head further left and through the door. In the next screen, you'll see a cube in the middle of the room, as well as three mirrors here. Go through all of the mirrors and touch the crystals on the wall. After you've touched all three of them, touch the cube in the room with the mirros. Although it seems to be the same room, it is not. Proceed north to find a passage. Save and proceed northward(be sure to prepare your party; have at least one bow user). You'll eventually reach a room where a cutscene ensues. After it, proceed further to eventually find the final area of the game. This is it my friend. Prepare to kick ass. ------------------ BOSS: Leon Umm... yeah, whatever. He's easy. Assassin him with... Assassin(...), as well as your best bow skills(BE SURE you have a bow user with you no matter what). If you have Bruiser, he should use Ballistic: it'll make the battle even easier. Rutee should heal while Philia blasts away with Holy Wrath. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Kronos He flies a lot, so have your bow user blast forward with his/her best bow skills, while Stahn does Spin Slash and/or Assassin. Bruiser's Ballistic still works wonders, as does any normal spell, so Philia could be useful here. Rutee should concentrate on healing while you tear Kronos apart, although she could also use Bloody Rose. I've found that Garr's Void Sword is particularly useful, so you don't need to outfit him with a bow if you don't want to. ------------------ ------------------ BOSS: Ultra Kronos Woahh... he sure changed his physical aspect, didn't he? =) Anyway, he's easy, as every boss in the game. Grab your swords and start hacking away! Do not count on your skills a lot, though. Stahn's Assassin and Rutee's Bloody Rose will do practically nothing to Ultra. Bruiser's Ballistic, on the other, is still a kick ass attack here. Magic is great here, specially Maelstrom. Stahn's spin slash is still worth using, along with the occassional bolt that comes off Garr's bow. Oh, and if somebody's got Meteor Swarm/Big Bang, make sure to use them! They deal an incredible amount of damage! I had Stahn with M. Swar and it did approx. 1600 PTS of DMG. Overall, it should be a long fight, but easy. ------------------ Salute the swordians as they go down. You've finished the game. Good for you. Enoy the ULTRA LAME ENDING OF ORGASMICAL X 2 FUN !!! Seriously though, it started as a good ending and went downhill... I'm aware that some of these abilities are not learned by certain characters normally(they require a certain disc etc) but I can't really tell, so I just listed what I've learned with each character, like I stated above. If you are sure that x ability is not learned by x character, please e-mail me about it. Also, if you notice that I'm missing an ability, please e-mail me about it, too! ******** ******** STAHN’S ------- FIREBALL “Shoots off a fireball at the enemy” Quite useful, although a little weak. It’s better to use it on bosses. ERUPTION "Causes columns of lava to erupt around the enemy" You get it quite early on, and it's awesomely powerful! It takes a bit to perform, but when you do, it'll hit various enemies and will do insane damage to them! Overall, a great spell, specially if there are various enemies. FIRE WALL "Traps the enemy in a wall of flame" Quite good, that's all I've got to say. FIRE STORM "Creates a storm of fire around the enemy" A very good spell, as it can hit multiple targets at once and for very good damage. It's best used against groups of enemies that are very near each other. FEAR FLARE "Fires off multiple rounds of fireballs at the enemy" Incredibly useless! It costs a lot of TP, and it does almost no damage! Stay away from it. FLARE TORNADO "Shoots up a tornado of lava from the ground" An astonishing attack! It does a helluva lot of damage, one of the first attacks that'll start doing around 2000 PTS of DMG, specially if used against the right enemies. A bless on boss battles. MISSILE SWORD "A projectile created by air pressure from a sword swing" Utterly useless. It hits various enemies at times, but it is very weak. After a little, it becomes rather powerful and useful, but not enough. KICK ATTACK "A 3 part attack consisting of 2 kicks and a weapon attack" An incredible tech. It hits an enemy thrice for good damage per hit, and it can hit various target. It's easy to hit an enemy with a normal attack after a kick attack, making this an excellent tech for combos. You get it early on, and should be used extensively. SPIN SLASH "A spin attack that starts with a small jump" A truly powerful and fast attack! It hits a lot of times an enemy, and for some very good damage! It is an incredible tech. TIGER BLADE "A 2 Part attacl that cuts high and low" An excellent attack! Although it's two-hit only, both hits deal a great deal of damage. Flying enemies? This attack hits them in the mid-air, sends them crashing on the floor where you receive them with the second portion of the attack! I love it. VORTEX "Drags enemy into a vortex created by the user's spinning body" A sweet attack. The vortex created by Stahn drags in a lot of enemies, so if you use it against a couple of enemies, all put together, you'll hit them all. The attack also does quite a lot of damage, specially if you're near your target, and it hits multiple times. FORCE "Blows away the enemy by projecting psychic energy" A very cool looking attack, but ultimately pointless. It's extremely weak and it hit only a few times. I'd take Tiger Blade or Vortex over this. DRAGON BLADE "An attack that repeatedly slashes the enemy" See Leon's. FIERY WAVE "Creates a short-range wave of flame" Insanely good! Alone, it can do 6 hit combos and it's tremendously powerful. Its only drawback is that is fire based and some enemies may absorb it. DRAGON TOSS "Throws down enemies after they are tosses into the air with multiple kicks" Does decent damage, but misses most of the time. LIGHT SPEAR "Fires off repeated bursts of piercing, spear-like light" A good skill actually, as it does a lot of damage, but with one drawback: it's far to unreliable. Let me explain. Once you perform it, Stahn stands still and sends 5+ light spears in various directions. Problem is that unless you're near your enemy, you'll most likely miss. A good skill, but some others are much better. ASSASSIN "Uses various normal attacks as a combo attack" Look no further for ToD's Lionheart/Omnislash! This attack is very, very potent and it hits 22 times, MAX. You can combine it with something like bloody rose for a total slugfest. FLAME VORTEX "???????" A variation of your regular vortex attack, although this one is a bit more powerful. SPIN FLARE "???????" No commentary. HELLFIRE "Groups the enemy together with Force and burns them with bursts of lava" Really can give an opinion of this one. THROW SWORD "Throws the user's sword at target" Very powerful and hits a decent amount of times. You have to pick the sword afterwarrd, though. ******** ******** MARY’S ------ BEAST BLADE “A two part attack that delivers a body blow and then a sword attack” It hits one enemy, most likely, and it's quite powerful indeed. She doesn't pull it off quite often, and that's good, because her normal attacks are a little more useful. POWER MISSLE "An attack that is similar, but more powerful, than Missile Sword" Don't get fooled, for it is the same as Missile Sword! Well, almost. A wee bit more powerful, but I still don't like it. Beast Blade or Mary's normal attacks doe more damage alright. DOUBLE BLADE "Slashes a target twice at high speed" It's more powerful than Beast Blade, it is also one target only( unless your enemies are very near each other) and much faster, like its description says. FIERCE MISSILE "A more powerful version of the Missile Sword. Causes enemy to lose consciousness" It's the same damn thing! And it is not much more powerful; only a bit more powerful. FORCE "Blows away the enemy by projecting psychic energy" See Stahn's MIRAGE "??????" Very powerful and it's quite deadly as it can hit more than once and more than one enemy. ******** ******** RUTEE'S ------- FIRST AID "Restores the HP of an ally" When you get it, it's priceless. It heals a good amount of HP(a lot) and it's cheap. An incredible spell that will save you lots of frustration. HEAL "Restores the HP of an ally" After you start hitting the 2000HP, this is the spell to use. CURE "Restores the HP of an ally" For those with 4000HP. RAISE DEAD "Revives an ally who's not longer alive" It's tremendously useless by the time you get. In the Tower of Druaga, however, I found that it could be a priceless spell. NURSE "Restores the HP of all party members" Priceless. Simply put, it is the best thing Rutee has on the game's first half. ICE NEEDLE "Shoots off a stream of ice needles at the enemy" A good, if somewhat weak ice spell. It can hit various enemies if used at the right time. It does a bit less damage than Rutee's normal attack, but it's quite useful sometimes. ICE TORNADO "Envelops an enemy in an ice storm" A slick looking attack that's also uber-good. It's REALLY powerful, and it hits multiple targets. A good technique that you can use to waste enemies that are very near each other. DEEP MIST "Creates camouflaging mist that lowers enemy's hit rate" It works, and it's quite useful on some enemies. ICE WALL "Traps the enemy in a wall of ice" Surprisingly good! Although it hits only one target, it does a lot of damage. It's a great spell to use on bosses, actually, although I use Rutee for healing and not for offensive, most of the time. BARRIER "Surrounds an ally with a defensive wall of water" It works, and it's very useful, as it makes you receive less damage. RECOVER "Neutralizes the effects of poisoning, paralysis and petrification from an ally" Priceless. ANTIDOTE "Neutralizes effect of poisoning from an ally" A priceless spell. It will come in handy during a good bunch of the game(read: until you get Recover). ACID RIN "Showers enemy with acid rain that lowers their defensive capabilities" A little useful, specially with an uber-strong Stahn. SHARPNESS "Raises the attack power of an ally" I've never been a fan of these spells, although this one is very, very useful if used at the right situations. SILENCE "Temporarily disables the enemy ability to cast a spell" Not good. DISPEL "Neutralizes all effects of enemy spells" Bahhhh... ICICLE "Showers the enemy with a rain of icicles" Decent attack. It's not breathtaking and doesn't do a helluva lot of damage, but it can help on some situations. MAELSTROM "Creates a giant whirlpool beneath the enemy" Holy crap! This spell is awesome! Seriously, it hits everybody(if you target well, of course) for about 1800 PTS of DMG. It is a great spell to use on the stuff around Dycroft, and it is simply one of the best things that could happen to you in tower of druaga. SEARCH GALD "Searches the nearby area for Gald" Meh? Unuseful, most of the time. SNIPE AIR "A piercing attack delivered from mid-air" A one hitting, semi powerful attack. It's actually quite good and deals a good bunch of damage. Use it if you must. SNIPER ROAR "A high speed, low to high thrust attack" Very powerful and very useful. Basically, Rutee's flying dragon. BLOODY ROSE "Creates a rose-like bloom of blood with lighting quick blows" Rutee's best special skill, hands down. It hits an enemy for around 15 hits, each very powerful. On par with assassin. THIEVERY "Steal items from the enemy" You can get some good items this way. A rather useful tech, if you're into mugging. Otherwise, a placeholder or something. ESCAPE "Enables escape from enemies by setting up a smoke screen" A very useful attack! I like it. ******** ******** LEON'S ------ STONE BLAST "Showers the enemy with a blast of pebbles" A good earth spell, nothing outstanding. It can take down flying enemies for a good bit quite easily, so you may want to use it for that. Pretty simple otherwise. SPIKE "Attacks enemies with stone spikes that appear from the ground" Quite good and powerful, as it hits various targets and various times, too! A very good spell that should be used against enemies that are very near each other. HAMMER BLOW "Drops a hammer on a enemy's head. Causes the enemy to lose consciousness. These kinds of spells normally don't work and are mostly useless. I hate it. STONE WALL "Traps the enemy in a stone wall" Although it hits only one target, it does a bunch of damage and looks very cool. STRONG HAMMER "Drops a gigantic hammer on an enemy's head. Causes the enemy to lose consciousness" See Hammer Blow, although this one can hit various targets. STONE PRESS "Crushes the enemy with a huge boulder" This attack is impressive and really powerful. It's probably one of the first attacks that'll start doing 1000 PTS of DMG early on. DEMON'S LANCE "Pierces the enemy with a lance imbued with dark powers" Holy crap! This attack is awesome. It is, simply put, the best magic spell you'll get on the game's first half! It can causes up to 2000 PTS of DMG on normal enemies, and light-based enemies beware for this attack will totally waste you! An excellent spell, very cool looking. KICK ATTACK "A 3 part attack consisting of 2 kicks and a weapon attack" Same as Stahn's, although a little more powerful. MISSILE SWORD "A projectile created by air pressure from a sword swing" See above. TIGER BLADE "A 2 part attack that cuts high and low" See Stahn's DRAGON BLADE "An attack that repeatedly slashes the enemy" An incredible attack. It's like a somewhat-big combo that (duh) hits an enemy multiple times, and for very good damage each time. It also looks very cool. An excellent skill, that should be used always on bosses. FLYING DRAGON "A high-speed, low to high thrust attack" Very good and with decent power. I say decent because an enemy-crusher it is not. But it hits various times an enemy, and it can hits multiple enemies too! A worthy attack. ******** ******** PHILIA'S -------- FIREBALL "Shoots off a fireball at enemy" See Stahn's WIND ARROW "Attacks the enemy with arrows created by strong air pressure" It's a good attack, rather powerful, that can hit various times and various enemies. STONE BLAST "Showers the enemy with a blast of pebbles. See Leon's LIGHTNING "Creates a small lightning bolt" Your average lighting attack. It's not overly powerful, but not too bad either. STORM "Creates a piercing windstorm around the enemy" Like a tornado, although this one is thunder-based. ERUPTION "Causes column of lava to erupt around the enemy" See Stahn's. ICE TORNADO "Envelops an enemy in an ice storm" See Rutee's. TRACTOR BEAM "Lifts enemies off the ground and drops them down on the ground" This attack is just too weak, in my opinion. I wouldn't use it. STONE WALL "Traps the enemy in a stone wall" See Leon's. RAY "Showers the enemy with piercing rays of light" Awesomely powerful. It hits one enemy only, but for very good damage. It is also one of the first attacks that'll start soaring around the 1000 PTS of DMG. T. BLADE "Generates a thunderbold around the enemy" Good! I like it quite a bit, although I rarely use Philia so don't trust me on this one :-) FEAR FLARE "Fires off multiple rounds of fireballs at enemy" See Stahn's. Although this one is VERY powerful. HOLY LANCE "Pierces the enemy with countless lances made from light" Philia's equivalent of Demon's Lance. Tremendously powerful on all enemies, doing over 1500 PTS of DMG. Dark-based enemies, beware! FLARE TORNADO "Shoots up a tornado of lava from the ground" See Stahn's CYCLONE "Surrounds the enemy with a tornado" In my opinion, the best wind spell on the game. It is simply outstanding. Very powerful and it can hit all enemies at once. HOLY WRATH "Attacks the enemy with holy lighting" A fearsome spell. The holy power will punish your enemies real hard. This spell is probably the best in the game. The only problem(in my case) is that _Philia_ uses it, and I hate her. EXPLODE "Generates a giant explosion around the enemy" See Stahn's INSPECT "This skill enables identification of the enemy's abilities" Bah. I really don't care about enemy stats(I just keep fighting). PHILIA BOMB "Philia's special chemical explosive thrown at the enemy" A very bad and stupid attack. It's quite weak, although I don't really know if it can hit multiple targets- TWIN BOMB "Two Philia Bombs thrown simultaneously at the enemy" Not good. Weak. BOMB RAIN "An attack that drops Philia's explosives down the enemy like rain" Very, very weak and misses a lot. FORCE FIELD "Creates a barrier of light that prevents the enemy from approaching" Very useful and quite good. CLOAK "Enables movement while avoiding enemies" Extremely useful, at least in my opinion. IDENTIFY "Identifies unknown items marked with a "?" It'll save you money... ******** ******** KARYL'S ------- SYMPHONY "Temporarily improves the hit rate of allies" SAMBA "????" MARCH "????" RUMBA "????" LULLABYE "????" WALTZ "????" ******** ******** GARR'S ------ WIND ARROW "Attacks the enemy with arrows crated by strong air pressure" Certainly a good spell. STORM "Creates a piercing windstorm around the enemy" Could be used against groups of enemies for some extra pain on all of them. ARROW STREAM "Repeatedly fires off arrows made from wind" A spell worth learning, although Garr's best for physical stuff. And he's got a lot of techs better than this one. WHIRLWIND "Creates a whirlwind around the enemy" When you get it, it's absolutely worthless. CYCLONE "Surrounds the enemy with a tornado" The best wind spell in the game. POWER "This archery skill delivers a single powerful shot" Not so powerful! By the time you get it it is... worthless. Most of Garr's skills are when you get him anyway. WIND BLADE "A projectile attack created by air pressure from a sword treasure" Maybe not that much worthless! Wind Blade proves to be a deadly and useful attack. Although you can only use it with blades and not with bows, it's well worth it. SPEED "Enables multiple arrows to be shot rapidly. Its effectiveness depends on the user's level" Very weak most of them. I wouldn't rely on it. VORTEX "Drags enemies into a vortex created by the user's spinning body" See Stahn's MIRAGE "A surprise attack based on confusing the enemy with an aftermirage of the user" See Mary's ARROW STORM "An archery skill that showers enemies with arrows" Very weak and useless. VOID SWORD "A sword attack that tears enemies apart with the force of vacuum" Garr's best attack. All of the small beams he shoots from his sword are very powerful and they will hit anything on their reach. There are also quite a lot of them. The only problem I see is that this attack can miss quite a lot. Try to use it while near your enemy. ******** ******** BRUISER KHANG ------------- VOLT THRUST "A powerful electro shock-punch" Hmmm... it is not very good. It's weak. 1-2 COMBO "A 2 part attack consisting of a body blow followed by an upper cut" The best tech Khang starts with. Although it only hits twice, both hits deal a fair amount of damage. UPPER CUT "Delivers a powerful charged uppercut" Not my favorite skill, as it is almost as powerful as 1-2 Combo and normally hits less times. HURRICANE "A hurricane-like combo attack" I think it sucks, as it is elemental based(I've seen Khang healing enemies with it) and very weak. HIP ATTACK "A hip attack that starts from a jump" Very powerful. Basically, an enhanced 1-2 Combo. BALLISTIC "An attack that sends an explosive blast of psychic energy to the enemy" The sole tech that makes Khang worth the use. It simply devastates everything on its path, by hitting them constantly and for a lot of damage. You can kill pretty much every group of enemies with it. Combined with Khang's best knuckle, it's probably the best skill on the game. And it is a heavenly gift on the Tower of Druaga. ******** ******** CHELSEA ------- POWER "This archery skill delivers a single powerful shot" See Garr's SPEED "Enables multiple arrows to be shot rapidly. Its effectivenes depends on the user's level2 See Garr's SHOCK ARROW "Enables the user to shoot a electrified arrow. Causes the enemy to lose consciousness" No opinion here. SPEED ARROW "Shoots a high speed arrow with excellent penetration power2 No opinion here. ARROW STORM "An archery skill that showers enemies with arrows" See Garr's. ******** ******** ############################################################################## ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ SWORDIANS ______________________________________________________________________________ ############################################################################## DYMLOS ------ Dymlos is Stahn's swordian. He's a fire elemental sword without a heart that would rather save his skin that help someone who's in trouble. Fortunately, Stahn is always by him to correct his wrong ways. He's a very strong weapon, probably the best Swordian(since we lose Chaltier halfway through...) and has very good spells, although Stahn ain't skilled with them. Combined with a good disc, Dymlos is sure the best. ATWIGHT ------- The only woman in the group and Rutee's swordian. She doesn't talk much, but she's always there to help Rutee when needed. She will make Rutee capable of learning the best healing spells in the game(as a matter of fact, only Rutee learns healing spells) and water based techniques. She's not a good weapon for head-on, physical matches, but a good swordian nonetheless. CHALTIER -------- He's probably the strongest swordian and it's carried by Leon, the young swordsman who serves as the party's guardian during a good portion of the game. Chaltier is inscure of himself, always behind his master's order, but he's a tremendous weapon nonetheless. The spells provived by him aren't exactly groundbreaking(bad pun, I know -.-) but his raw physical power more than make up for it. Too bad he turns out to be, along with his master, one of the bad guys. CLEMENTE -------- Clemente's Philia's swordian. He's found lonely in Radisrol, and when he see Philia's nice and circular ass, he gets all excited! Indeed, Clemente is a man who likes woman. Your typical ladies man, if you ask me. However, he's got a strong sense of justice and is actually a respectable man, even though sometimes he isn't ^_- He's a weak head-on-er Swordian, but the spells supplied by them make Philia's ass the best in the game, magic-wise. IGTENOS ------- This guy is Garr's swordian, who was severely damaged by Lydon when he used him. He doesn't talk much but he's actually your typical nerd who knows everything and can fix it all. He's a very useless weapon at first, as when you get it he's on level 1. As he levels up, he becomes a worthy swordian, specially if combined with the appropiate disc. ############################################################################## ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ SIDEQUESTS ______________________________________________________________________________ ############################################################################## ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TAG GAME - CHERIK ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As pointed in the walkthrough, there is a tag game that you can play on Cherik. In the middle of the town, there is a group of kids. Talk with the Elder's Grandson and accept the challenge. The Tag Game is about running around without being touched by any kid pursuing you. It's much easier said than done, because the area is small, the controls are surprisingly sluggish(there are too many crates and barrels) and those kids are very skilled. The prizes are basically worthless, but with an excellent perfomance, you'll be able to get Miracle Gels as well as an Efreet. The Efreet is quite an useful item, as it summons a fire monster that causes up to 1500 PTS of DMG! Save it for when you need it, as it is a one-shot only. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BATTLE ARENA - NEUESTADT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The battle are will be visited at least once in the game, as a story-driven area. Later in the game, you'll be able to come back here. You can then fight a group of enemies, including Bruiser Khang. Beat Bruiser in order to have him join your party. He's quite easy and should pose no threat. Later, you'll be able to do further fighting on the arena. At first, you'll have to fight some easy enemies, but they get progressively tougher. The last enemy you fight is a Wyvern, a fire based enemy with 20 000 HP. Stahn will have a hard time against him, and a impossible time if you're using Dymlos! Dragon Blade and Light Spear seem to work well on him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CHELSEA AND KARYL ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ At some point of the game, you'll be able to add two extra characters to your party. These can be Khang(discussed above), Chelsea or Karyl. Chelsea and Karyl can be found at their respective cities: Heidelberg and Moreau. Talk with them and they'll join you. As easy as that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MACH SPEED BOY - NEUESTADT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ At the northeasternmost corner of the city, there will be some people gathered around the fastest boy in town: Mach Speed Boy. If you talk to the referee, you'll be given the chance to fight the kid. If you beat him, you'll be able to get three prices(your choice): Sage, Thief Cape, Magical Roughe. Should you accept to do the race, you'll be shown the track's layout. Afterward, you may start the race. I have no general tips for it, only one: try to stay ahead of the kid as much as you can. This may sound obvious, but at some point of the race the kid will get a turbo-boost and will easily surpass you if you're by him. I you've got a good distance between him and you, there is no need to worry. Lastly, you'll be able to race him later in the game for different prices. He'll be much tougher, too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A VERY USELESS ITEM? - ARMEDIA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RIGHT AFTER the Aethersphere forms itself, head toward Armedia and look inside the houses for a sleeping woman. She'll hand over 500 Lens. Keep these lens( do not sell them or waste them with your S. Ring) and head back to Darilshied. Head inside the Lens Shop and talk with the kid inside. He'll hand over a Trycicle! This one is actually a piece of equipment, and if you equip it, you'll be able to use it on the world map to totally avoid random battles. The only drawback is that it is extremely slow(like ErgGibbon puts it: Parasite Eve slow. And trust me, in that game, you're basically a turtle without legs) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BLACKJACK - NEUESTADT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I do not seem to understand this mini game actually, as I've never played blackjack. I could have spend some time trying to understand it though, I just was too lazy ;) Near the game's end, head to the local inn and go downstairs. There is a guy there who'll let you play a game of blackjack. You need to pick some cards here to get a certain amount of points(apparently) in order to get your reward. As I said, I had no idea how to sort this out(I didn't want to know how, anyways---yes I'm lazy). It's quite easy, it seems, maybe I'm just stupid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A BIT OF A CATFUL - NEUESTADT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lame name, I know, I just wanted to make it sound catchy... Anyway, in the city's docks, be sure you purchase two Bonito Flakes. Afterward, while having chelsea in your party, scout the area looking for a cat. You'll eventually nail it and when you do, feed it up with your recently purchased Bonito Flakes. This way, it'll lead you to an area where you can get an Emerald Ring. Keep in mind that giving the cat something that's not bonito flakes will make you unable to get the ring. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NAMCO'S QUIZ - ARMEDIA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This one is quite easy to nail, but quite hard to finish. What you need to do is to visit Armeida after you've acquired the Draconis. Inside, you'll find no other than Cless and Arche standing right besides the inn. Ah, brings back some good Tales of Phantasia memories, the game that got me into the series... Anyways, if you talk to them, you'll have to take a quiz of 50, tough-as-hell questions! Only true Namco masters(and when I say _true_ and _master_ I mean it!) will be able to complete! I haven't been able to guess this out by _myself_ Yeah, I could look at other guides and copy the answers straight ahead, but that wouldn't be fair, would it? So, check other guides to get the answers from Namco true masters =) What I know is that you'll get the Throw Sword skill by getting 35 anwers correct. By getting all of them correct, you'll get an extra channeling for multiplayer action! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ONE HUNGRY DRAGON - LIENEA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you got the egg off Baruk's chair at Cloudius, you'll be able to do this sidequest. Take the egg to Stahn's house at Lienea and talk to Lilly. She'll keep the egg. Afterward, exit and then enter Stahn house. Do this constantly and eventually the egg will hatch. In order to make it grow, you'll need to collect a handful of food plates. In order to elaborate these plates, you'll require to bring the necessary ingredients to the master cooks that are all around the world. Anyway, here we go: FOOD PLATE # 1: Take Acerola, Banana, Apple, Grape, Jam, Lemon, Mangosteen, Melon, Persimmon, Prune, Strawberry and Sweete to the cook in Darilshied's castle western wing. FOOD PLATE # 2: Bring Beast Meat, Efreet(Oooo...), Cheese and Bread to Mary at Cyril for she to make this plate. FOOD PLATE # 3: 12 Fish(any) should be brought to a family who live in Sheeden. FOOD PLATE # 4: Bring Crab Soup and Prawns to Baruk's office at Cherik. Once you've fed the dragon with the four food plates, it'll hand over the Blue Dragon Disc. It boosts your stats for a bit, and lets you use the Blue Dragon attack. Fair enough. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TOWER OF DRUAGA - JANOS SNOWFIELDS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prepare yourself because what's coming is quite tough :-) Anyway, in order to access the tower, be sure you've got on your possession the three rods of orgasmic fun(yep, I took that line out of marshmallow, sue me). These three rods are found throughout the world, and are actually quite easy to obtain( except for one). The first rod is found in Cloudius and you cannot get it back if you've completed Belcrant. My walkthrough points out its location, so follow it if you want to get it. The second rod is found in the Swordian R&D lab. My walkthrough also notes its location. Lastly, we have the Old Cane, which is found in Walt's house at Harmentz(check the walkthrough too). You must use a Rune Bottle on the Cane to transform it onto a rod. Once you have all three of them, head to the snow temple at Janos(exit Janos through the north and head right. F ollow the linear path to the temple), precisely the room where you found Rutee. Check the slots here to fit the rods into them. Once all three have been put, the tower will unlock itself for you to tackle it. It's a huge dungeon(sixty floor tall!) and it ain't a walk in the park... although it's very fun to go through. It works out like this: in each level, there is a RANDOMLY PLACED key and door. You must find the key, then the door, and proceed upward. Sounds simple. Enemies are also seen floating around the map and you cannot run out of battles. Now, as simple as this sounds, it's not. First off, you can smash pretty much every structure in the dungeon. But that's not exactly a problem. It's actually fun. The real problem is getting every item in the dungeon. You see, in order to make certain chests to appear, you'll need to do certain things. Yeah, sounds pretty simple, but the things you must do in order to unlock the items are so nonsensical it would be impossible to figure them out by oneself. Hopefully, you have this walkthrough, where I'll tell you how to get every item in the tower, while getting you through it. I recommend you to be at level 50 and have a handful of weapons that are stronger than your Swordians and that aren't elemental: you'll need them sometime. Be sure you have a lot of time too. Anyways, off we go! NOTE: In some floors, I simply won't tell you if there is an item. This is because there is either no item, or it is some kinds of useless crap(life bottle, anyone). Also, sometimes I'll just tlel you to get the item and that's it. You should know that you must find the key and get to the next floor, too! These are randomly locateda as I've told you, so you'll have to look them out by yourslelf! ************ F. 001 There is a chest with a pair of W. Boots in this floor. Pick them and snag the key that's around to enter a new floor! F. 002 This is where it starts to get fun! Kill two groups of black slimes and a chest with a dash ring will appear. Afterward, get the key and travel into the next floor. F. 003 No item worh taking. Simply grab the key and get into the next floor. F. 004 To get the item, tap circle in front of the door without the key. This will make a chest to appear. Grab the Paralysis Charm inside and move on. F. 005 Kill two mages and get a White Sword off a chest. Afterward, continue and get the key to the next floor. F. 006 This one is a bit complicated. Start off by going to the bottom-right corner of the screen, and from there, move to the top-right, smashing every wall along the way. Afterward, head to the lower lef corner and move to the top-left corner smashing everything. Doing this correctly will unlock a chest with a Lantern. F. 007 Get the Energy Bullet off the chest laying around and discard it afterward. This will make a chest with a Reverse Doll to appear. F. 008 You can get a Lavender by getting hit by a Mage on the map. It's not that simple, though. Have a mage hit you on the left side, while other hits you on the right side. Worth it? Nah F. 009 Keep away from Druids! Anyway, this one is also very obscure. I really didn't understand what to do, but goes something along these lines: smash. Try and smash everything on the top portion of the screen and on the bottom, too. If done correctly, you should get a Dark Seal accesory. F. 010 It's a bit tough to get the chest here, so you may just want to leave. For the sake of completeness, I'll tell you: kill every group of red slimes without touching a knight or being hit by their beams. Afterward, kill one knight. This will earn you a Warrio Symbol. F. 011 Get to the bottom side of the screen and stand there for some time. Eventually, a chest with the Strengthen disc will appear. F. 012 It's your choice, but I strongly suggest you to grab the chest and leave. If you don't want to, the chest is gotten this way: get the key and open the door. Stand right beside the staircase and wait a Ghost Mage to appear above it. Tap circle to fight it. You'll get a Battlesuit after the battle. F. 013 Here, it's much better to just leave, since all you get for your efforts is a measly Red Shield. Head to the door without the key and try to open it. Afterward, kill all enemies. F. 014 Run around without being touched by an enemy for some time. After a bit(half a minute) you'll get your chest that contains a ?JEWEL inside, that's actually a moonstone. Before leaving, outfit your characters(mainly Stahn) with non-elemental weapons. F. 015 This level's music is a bit different =) The Quox dragons here are a pain in the ass. They always follow you, and they're inmune to all kinds of elemental attacks. Try to evade them. The chest is gotten by killing a Blue Knight first. It contains an Emerald(you'll have to identify it though). F. 016 Kill the only Knight around and then crash into the leftmost side of the screen. You'll earn a Hellfire disc for this. F. 017 You can get a Reverse Doll here by killing two Druids and two Slimes. F. 018 Walk around the outer wall(?) counterclockwise and a chest should appear. I really didn't bother, so I can't tell you if the Dragon's Sword(your prize) is worth it. Besides, it's an elemental weapon and those ain't useful, unless they're swordians. F. 019 Quox time! Go and kill the Quox without the key. Afterward, get the key and open the door. THEN, look for the Thinking Cap, that's your prize. F. 020 Get the key, open door, get Elixir. Then leave. F. 021 Another very obscure floor. Basically, stand still in one place without fighting. Then move a bit and stand still some more. If done correctly, you'll be able to get a Resist Ring. Because you're easy prey to Druids and other m'fs, it's better not to get it, in Gheddon's opinion. F. 022 This is also a tricky floor. Anyway, have the Quox around follow you to the upper-left corner of the screen. Then kill it. It'll earn you a Dark Seal. Leave. F. 023 The prize here is a Thunder Disc that you already have, so please, leave immediately. F. 024 Sit there, don't move, and let an enemy come at you. Kill it and you'll get a Blessing Disc if you didn't move. Leave afterward. F. 025 No item. Leave F. 026 A very interesting level, indeed, as there are two chests. For the first one, the Hyper Gauntlet, the best in the game, get the key and killa druid within 30 seconds. The second item, Bruiser's best glove, is gotten by killing a Hyper Knight, the Quox and then being hit by a Druid beam on the map. Quite complicated, but if you use Bruiser a lot, it's worth it. F. 027 Destroy ten walls and get the key. Then, the chest will appear. It contains a ?JEWEL, which is actually a Ruby. F. 028 LEAVE! Do not bother with the Elven Cape you can get(if you want it, get they key, open the door and wait for a Green Roper to attack you). F. 029 To get a Combo Command, bump into the four walls that cover the area(western, eastern, southern and northern). It's better to get it on the arena, so leave. F. 030 Stand still and let three enemies to come at you. Kill all three to get a Blue Talisman. I'd just leave. F. 031 Almost... there... Anyway, leave. Do not bother. F. 032 Man, this one is a tough level. Anyway, to get it, have a Quox break five walls. You'll get the Demon's Arrow disc for your efforts. F. 033 This is a _TOUGH_ level... at least for the chest. Anyway, to make it appear, have Stahn get his HP to critical(i.e. red numbers) and a chest containing the Blue Shield, the best in the game, will appear. The best way is to let yourself be hit by numerous beams until the chest appears. Then, heal and leave. Be sure you don't fight anything or you're basically screwed. F. 034 Kill both knights here for a sapphire. F. 035 Kill both Green Ropers for a topaz. F. 036 Kill 4 sorcerer's to get the a princess cape. Be sure you're not hit by their beams. Then leave. F. 037 First off, do not break any walls. Zero. Cero. Nada. Nil. Ok, so you understood. Now, snag the key and open the door but do not go up. Then, smash a wall and look for your prize: the almighty Megalith Disc. Equip it and move into the next level. F. 038 A must-get item in this level, because you won't be able to complete the tower without it. Anyway, to get it, kill two Will o' Wisps(the dark balls flying around) without killing anything else. It's the GC Rod. GET IT. F. 039 Simply leave. If you want the chest, blast four walls at the bottom, two at the top. F. 040 Kill all Lizardmen and Mages, as well as the two ropers for a Demon's Seal. F. 041 Kill the Quox for a stone. Then leave. F. 042 This level can be a bit tricky. What you have to do is to kill a Red Will O' Wisp, get the key, and then kill another Red Will O' Wisp. If done correctly, the Star Mace will pop up. F. 043 You can get a Mystic Symbol by killing each kind of slime here. Uh, but in certain order! DY first, follwed by DG, Blue, Black, Red and Green. F. 044 Get a magical ribbon by killing all of the mages in this order: orange, green, white, purple. F. 045 There is a catch here: there is already a chest. Sure enough, you can open it, but you'll be missing one of the best things in this bloody tower: the Excaliber sword. To get it, first, kill a Lizardman, Hyper Knight(yellow), Mirror Knight(white), Black Knight and Blue Knight, in that order. Leave the Red alive. A second chest will appear. Examine it and tell it you want to open it. Afterward, look for the original chest and open it for the Excaliber! F. 046 Simply leave. F. 047 Kill a Red Roper for a chest with a Rabbit Foot. F. 048 Another must-get item: the RC Rod. To get it, stand on each of the room's corner for 15 seconds. Start off on the top-left, move along the path to the top-right and continue to the bottom-left. F. 049 Hit the door without the key and then kill a wizard for a Magical Rougue. F. 050 10 more floors! Go to the south, north, west and east wall to make an emerald ring to appear. Afterward leave. F. 051 Simply leave. You can get the Volcano Disc by wandering around the southern wall for 30 seconds, though. F. 052 You have to smash every vertical("|") wall to get a Gold Armor. Then leave. F. 053 You already have the item here(Mercy Disc), so get into the next level. F. 054 Use a healing item on Stahn to obtain a Moon Crystal. F. 055 Grab the key and leave. F. 056 Leave, too. F. 057 Remove the Excaliber off Stahn! Equip Dymlos and the Megalith disc. Now, try to open the door without the key. Fully heal yourself, and look for a woman who will have appear. It's an impostor Isthar, and she's quite tough. She absorbs light attacks, so be sure you don't have the excaliber! Anyway, hack away at her with Assassin and Void Sword, as well as Ballistic, if you have Bruiser. Have Rutee heal always. Now, after the battle, kill a Lizardman and you'll get the Berserker bow: the best in the game. Leave afterward. F. 058 This one is a tricky, tricky floor. Basically, pretty much anybody doesn't knows what to do here. Do this: avoid everybody and try to open the door key-less. Afterward, smash every wall in the level. Once you've done so, go to the northern side of the screen. Stand by the middle pillar and run down to the bottom of the screen. Then, kill a red knight. Hopefully the chest with the BC Rod will appear. If not, keep trying. Keep trying. You'll eventually get it. Then leave. F. 059 Here, kill a few enemies until a dragon appears. Kill it to make Druaga appear. If you have the three rods, hack away with Assassin and Ballistic and it will be dead in NO TIME. If you don't have all three rods, I feel for you my friend, as you won't be able to damage him. Once you've killed him, get the key and travel into the last floor. F. 060 Talk with Isthar and put the rods around to release Ki. You'll get the Destroyer disc and you'll be taken outside. Congratulations for taking this test! YOU CAN GO THROUGH THE TOWER A SECOND TIME FOR MORE ITEMS. I WON'T DO THIS, SO COUNT ME OUT ^_- ############################################################################## ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ EXTRA SKILLS ______________________________________________________________________________ ############################################################################## These are some skills you can learn by equipping Discs.
