In comes Quistis and she ask you to follow her .She will bring you to a room to have some exam I think. After the exam, you will regain control of Squall. You can go back to the computer and go into the tutorial where you can learn more about garden. After you are done, go and talk to Quistis and she will tell you to go to the cave of fire. At the cave of fire, you will have to fight random battles. You must find the G.F here and fight it. Make sure that before you enter this battle you equip your two G.F's. It makes the battle easier. After you defeat the boss, exit out of the cave and go back to Garden. 1.3 A N E W C H A R A C T E R ##################################################################### Back at Garden, Quistis will leave you and ask you to change your clothes. At the Dormitory, press circle and choose the second option. Head back to the lobby and Zell, another recruit will join you. There will be some talking here when Seifer comes and Zell will want to fight with Seifer when Cid, the Principal of Garden appears. He will brief you on the mission. After that, Seifer, Raijin, Fuuijin and Zell will go to the carpark. Follow them and then you will enter the car. In the car, Zell will start to talk. After a while, you will be able to control the car. 1.4 R E C A P T U R E D O L L E T ##################################################################### Drive to the port and you will enter a sub like boat. Your objectives of this mission is to wipe out the remaining enemy soldiers and prevent them from activating the communications system. When you get out, just follow Seifer. You'll have to fight a few battles and there are some magic stones in which you can draw magic from. There will be a part where Seifer gets irritated by a dog starts .It's quite funny. Some guards will walk past and Seifer will chase after them. Follow Seifer. Cross the bridge and head left. You will encounter random battles frequently. Finally you have caught up with Seifer. Talk to the wounded soldiers. As you talk to the soldier at the stairs, beware that you will fight a huge snake, something like the Migdar Zolom from FF VII. When I fought it, it wasn't really that hard. You can draw some stuff from it I think. After the battle, continue to head up to the radio tower. There you and your teammates will take cover. There will be a short conversation between the two guards. After Seifer leaves, there will be a FMV. There will be a girl coming towards you. Here name is Selphie and she will talk to you. Follow here towards the edge of the cliff and press circle. Choose the first option to jump down. Go inside the building. There is a save point inside. You might want to save your game. There is also a point to draw magic. After you are done, head to the elevator. The will be another FMV on top. You will have to fight a boss here too ,so remember to equip your members with a G.F each. Oh no, they have activated the communications. You'll have to fight Biggs and Wedge first, then that flying thingie. Just concentrate your attacks on Biggs, then attack Wedge and after a while, that flying thingie will come down and attack them. You can draw some spells from all of them. You can even draw siren from the flying thingie. Siren is a G.F. After you beat the boss, there will be a short conversation and you'll have thirty minutes to get back to the boat. Go to the elevator and press circle and choose the first option. After you go down, Biggs will summon a huge crab to attack you. Save before you exit the building as the crab will attack you when you exit the building. Also cure all your party members before you leave too. The boss is a pain in the neck. The boss is weak against lightning. So use lightning spells and your G.F Quetzalcoatl. You will have to fight the boss at least five times. Every time you hit the boss down, press L2 and R2 to run away. When you are about to reach the boat, Quistis will pump the crab with lead. You are safe. When you return to the harbor, Fuujin and Raijin will come and congratulate Seifer for completing the mission. Seifer didn't even help you. What an idiot. Nevermind. Quistis will congratulate all of you on a job well done. After that, you are free to do what you want. You can even visit Zell's house. But Zell won't let you into his room. You can rent a car from the rent a car shop, or you can just walk back to Garden. 1.5 S Q U A L L I N L O V E ##################################################################### When you reach Garden, at the lobby, you will meet Quistis, Cid and Sue. Cid will talk for a while. Selphie has passed her SeeD test. Head right and you will meet Seifer. He is rather unhappy as he has failed his SeeD test. Take the elevator second level and talk to everyone. Zell will be nervously walking around as he is waiting for his results. Then a teacher will come out and tell everyone that Zell, Squall and another cadet have passed. See Zell jump up and down. Now for the awards ceremony. Talk to Cid and he will give you something. I don't know what it's for. You will be given a rank. Head back to level two and you will see Seifer with Fuujin and Raijin. When you talk to Seifer, he will start to clap, Fuujin and Raijin will Clap too. Go back to the dormitory and change to your Graduation suit. You can save before you leave. You will be transported to the ballroom. Zell will try to talk to Squall ,after he leaves ,Selphie will try to talk to him too. Squall will see a girl dressed in yellow. This is Rinoa. If you saw the opening FMV, you should remember. There will be a FMV here that you should watch. Rinoa will approach Squall and ask him to dance with her. After the fireworks, Rinoa will leave. The screen will then change to Squall in the balcony with Quistis. She will ask you to change your clothes and meet her at the training center. Head for the door. 1.6 A T T H E T R A I N I N G C E N T E R ##################################################################### At the training center, you will usually fight the plant-like monsters, but sometimes you will fight the T-Rex. If you do encounter the T-Rex, my advice is that you run unless you can do a lot of damage , have a lot of HP or are using a gameshark cause the T-Rex can do lots of damage and has at least 10,000 damage. Walk to the top of the center and go through the door. There, you will have a conversation with Quistis. After the conversation, go out of the training center, as you head out, there will be a scream. Run back and you will see a girl in trouble. You will fight a boss here! You can draw some magic from the monsters and as the boss is pretty weak, you should have no problem. After you defeat the boss, go back to the dormitory and you will meet Zell outside. After you talk to him, go to your room and go to sleep. You can get a copy of a weapon-upgrading guide on the desk. 1.7 T H E N E X T M I S S I O N ##################################################################### Make your way to the central gate and if you want to, save your game. You will see Selphie talking to Cid. Talk to Cid and Zell will appear on his air board. It will get confiscated. As you exit to the main gate, Cid will give you a magic lantern in which you will be able to summon the G.F Diablo. You can fight it now or later but if your character levels are low, I don't recommend you to fight him now as he is really tough. Go to the Balamb dock and take the train to the Timber station. You will have to pay the man at the station 3,000 gil to get on to the train. 1.8 I N S I D E T H E T R A I N ##################################################################### Talk to Zell and Selphie in the train and they will leave the room. Follow them. Talk to Zell in the next room and he will walk into the room. In the next room, Zell and Selphie will faint and after they faint, so will Squall. 1.9 L A G U N A ` S Q U E S T ##################################################################### You now swap to Laguna and party. The big guy with him is Ward, and the smaller guy is Kiros. You will be some grassland where some parts are burning. You will encounter random battles here. The objective is to run to your car. Just follow the path and you will get there. There are a few magic stones that you can draw magic from. The truck will transport you to a city. Head south to the Galbadia hotel and rest there. It cost 100 gil. After a rest, go down stairs from the right of the main hall. Talk to the waitress. After that, a lady in a red dress will play the piano. Laguna will talk to his friends. Go and talk to the woman. Next the girl will approach Laguna and they will have a chat. The girl will leave. Then go back to the man at the counter and choose the first option. Laguna will talk to the girl and after a while the screen will fade. 1.10 S Q U A L L A N D R I N O A M E E T A G A I N ##################################################################### Zell and Selphie will wake up, and so will Squall. You will drop off at the Timber station. You will see a guy who is quite clumsy and nearly got knocked down by a train. The man will invite you on the train. There are two guys on the train. There is a save point in the train. You might want to use it. Walk until the end on the train and walk into the cabin and you will see the girl at the party, Rinoa. You will have to name her and her dog. When she leaves the room, head back to the cabin where your party is and there will be a short conversation. You will be led into another room where there is a model of what you are supposed to do on your mission. They will show what to do so I don't suppose I need to show you what to do. OK, once you're ready, talk to the punky guy and choose the first option. Go out and talk to the other guy and choose the second option. The screen will fade...... The object is to unlock the carriages without being caught by the Galbadian soldiers. C O N T R O L S : triangle: 1 Circle: 2 Square: 3 X: 4 L1: look left R1: look right Up: move up Down: move down Rinoa will tell you the codes and the codes are never the same, so don't think that the password is always the same. But there shouldn't be a problem as the code will always be shown. Input the codes in the given amount of time. After all that is done, you'll be back in the train. Save you game and go back to the guy at the door and talk to him. Choose the second option and the screen will fade...... Now you will be in the train carriage with president Deling. Rinoa will approach him and then there will be a boss battle here. There are some spells to draw from the boss in his two forms. The first form is easy ,and in the monster form, just use fire based spells and the ifrit G.F. After the battle, you'll be back at the room with the train model. Go to the guy at the door and choose the second option. Rinoa will join you and the train will now return to Timber station. 1.11 A T T I M B E R S T A T I O N ##################################################################### There will be random battles here, I don't know why, but there are Galbadian soldiers. I can't really remember what to do here as it has been a long time since I've played Disc 1.So if there are any mistakes don't blame me. I think that you have to help the guards that are being threatened by the Galbadian soldiers. You will have to fight the soldiers. Now head back to the train station and this time choose the second path. There is a huge building called Timber Maniacs. Enter the building. There is a magic stone somewhere in the room at the left. Head right and you will be on a street. There is a girl walking towards the shelter, that's actually the staircase that leads to the pub. There is a card player here(its the girl sitting on the bench).There will be two Galbadian soldiers here which you will have to fight. There is a item shop on the left of the pub and a magic stone on the right of the pub. Enter the pub. Talk to the man dressed in the purple suit. Choose the first option for the first question and the second option for the second question(choose the first option for the second question to buy a drink for 100gil and get a card). After the man tells the drunken man to make way for you ,head up and you will find another save point and another card player. There you will find a huge gate that leads to the TV station. Head up, force the gate open and go up the stairs. Turn right and you'll see a huge screen. There will be a conversation and Squall will argue will Rinoa. Rinoa will run away. Zell/Selphie will rejoin you. Watch the screen. The minister will start to talk and after that, the president will talk. Seifer will appear and try to kill the president. Quistis will also be there. Now head left and go up and you will see Seifer holding the president hostage. Quistis will try to stop Seifer from killing the president. Edea will appear and Seifer will leave with her and will drop the president. Quistis gets injured in the process. Go back down I think and Rinoa will come back. Go to the house next to the Timber maniacs and there will be a short sequence. Talk to Quistis and try to go out from the house. You will be asked to reorganize your party. The owner will give you a Phoenix down, potion, soft, antidote and remedy on your way out. Go back to the train station and choose option one to enter the train. Talk to everyone and talk to Zell last and choose option one. Stop at the next stop and head up the road located at the north of the station. you will find a forest surrounded by mountains. Enter the forest and there will be a short conversation with your party members. Some of your party members will faint, including Squall. 1.12 B A C K T O L A G U N A ##################################################################### The screen switches back to Laguna. Head for the mine west of the area. You need to fight some miners on your way up. Absorb magic from the magic stone. Take the straight path until the path splits into three. Take the path leading to the right. Absorb magic from the magic stone. Head back to the entrance where you first fought the miners and take the second path. Press down when you reach the ladder. You'll have a sequence here. Continue to walk forward, make a left turn and exit. You will come out of a pipe. Take the path leading north. There is a boulder and a odd shaped object. Press circle at the object and choose option one. The boulder will start to roll down and will block the entrance. Walk up the path ,head up the stairs, continue to move forward and make a left turn at the junction. Head left until you reach a cave. There is a save point here. Make sure that your party is fully cured. Save your game and head up. You'll find a cliff facing the sea. Some miners will confront you and you'll have to fight them continuously. After you defeat the last miner, it will do damage to Ward and Kiros, reducing their HP to one. Laguna will throw his buddies and himself off the cliff and the screen fades...... 1.13 F A R E A S T G A R D E N ##################################################################### When you wake up, go to the menu and you'll see that people who fainted with Squall HP are reduced to one. Head through the forest and you'll end up in Far East Garden. Go to the second floor although you might want to explore the place. Enter the room on the second floor. There will be a sequence in the room. After the conversation, Squall will leave the room. Head for the gate and talk to Rinoa. There will be a car approaching you and the guy will introduce you to Irvine. Talk to Selphie after the FMV and she and Rinoa will grab onto Irvine and walk off. You'll be on the world map with Zell and Quistis in your party. Head to the station northwest of the school. Pay 3000 gil to the train attendant. Next Rinoa and Selphie will enter with Irvine. Selphie will enter the door at the north. You have reached Galbadia. 1.14 G A L B A D I A ##################################################################### Head up the escalator and there will be a sequence. Talk to the attendant located south and talk to him as soon as the bus arrives. Alight from Bus no 8 as soon as you reach the next stop and talk to the guard at the extreme right and he will tell you about a mysterious tomb. Pick option four after that to be taken to the rent a car shop. You might want to rent a car if you have sufficient gil. Head northeast along the thin stretch of land and you will find the tomb that the attendant told you about. 1.15 T O M B O F T H E U N K N O W N K I N G ##################################################################### You can get the Brothers G.F here but it's long and you can get lost. So just find the gunblade number and get out for the moment. The password will change everytime you play. 1.16 B A C K A T G A L B A D I A ##################################################################### Head back to the attendant and tell him the password. If the password is 123,enter the password as 321. He will let you into the Colonel's mansion after you have entered the password correctly. There's a save point here and you might want to save your game. In the mansion, talk to Rinoa and after a while, Colonel Carlway will enter the room. He will greet you and brief you on your mission. Rinoa will leave your party if she is in it and you'll have to reorganize your party. The Colonel will leave the room. Follow him and you'll meet Rinoa on your way out. A short event happens and everyone leaves the mansion. The screen changes back to Squall. Just follow Carlway and you'll end up at the president's mansion. The screen will change back to Quistis and her team. Head back to the mansion and the there will be a sequence been Rinoa and her father. Rinoa will leave the mansion .Quistis and her party will be back at the mansion and the doors will automatically lock !!!!!!! 1.17 R I N O A ` S Q U E S T ##################################################################### You'll be in control of Rinoa. There is a save point here and you'll have to do some climbing. head to the crate and press circle. Climb up till you reach the ledge and head left. In this area, head for the ladder and climb up. Head up to the ceiling and Rinoa will reach the building. There's a chair in front of you. Examine it and Rinoa will get injured. 1.18 B A C K T O Q U I S T I S ##################################################################### I'll skip all the FMV parts and get to the next part. After all the FMVs, you'll regain control of Squall, talk to Irvine and the screen will change back to Quistis and her party. You have to get out of the mansion to help Squall and Irvine. Look at the painting on the right, it's a picture of a woman holding a glass. At the extreme left corner, there is a statue of a woman. Go to the cabinet and get a glass. Go to the statue and place the glass in the woman's hand. It will reveal a trap door. Enter the trap door and go down to the basement. There is a save point here and you might want to save your game. Go down the ladder and on to the wooden platform next to the gear and press circle. Quistis and her group will be able to get to the other side of the basement. Head up and you'll have another FMV sequence. You'll be able to move during the intervals, so just follow Irvine. Equip Irvine with some G.Fs for the boss battle just ahead. Climb up the crates just like what you did with Rinoa, climb up the ladder at the extreme left when you reach the ledge. Use the save before going up the ladder as a boss battle going to start soon! Head for the door once in the building. You'll find the president on the floor. In the next area, there is a hatch which you should ignore first. Head downward and you'll see Rinoa being attacked by the two lizard like monsters. Prepare for battle. The battle shouldn't be tough although you only have Squall and Irvine for this battle. You can draw Carbunkle form the boss. After the battle, go to the hatch and press circle. Go down and Irvine will take the rifle and the will be a short conversation before the screen switches back to Quistis and company. 1.19 G E T T I N G O U T ##################################################################### I got lost here many times and I'm really sorry as I don't remember how I got out of the place. I just any how walk around and managed to get out. So your on your own for this part. There will be random battles here. At the end of the sewers, there is a save point next to the ladder. Save your game and go up the ladder. You'll be at the place where Laguna was. Climb up the ladder to the top and you'll reach a place with a window. Zell will look out of the window and there will be a FMV. After the FMV, push the telephone thingie and there will be another FMV. After all the FMVs and Irvine shoots Edea ,there's going to be another boss battle. Prepare to fight Seifer. After a short conversation with Edea, Squall will fight Seifer one on one. After you defeat Seifer, you'll fight Edea, the last boss for disc one. It's one hell of a hard battle so pack some healing items etc. Also make full use of your G.Fs for this battle. After the battle, Edea will throw some icicles and throws them at your party. Rinoa dodges but the one of the icicles hit Squall. Squall falls from the building and Rinoa tries to save him. Squall closes his eyes and......End of Disc One. That's the end of my disc one walkthrough. ===================================================================== Walkthrough Disc 2 ===================================================================== 2.1 L A G U N A ' S A L I V E ! ##################################################################### At the start of disc two, you'll be back with Laguna. Laguna will be in a house. Talk to the girl in the house, her name is Elone. After you talk to her, she will run downstairs. There's a magic stone in the cupboard. Draw some magic before going down the stairs. Go down stairs and head out the door. Go to the pub just next to the house you came out from. Enter the pub and there will be a sequence here. Talk to the girl at the counter(her name is Lane) and Kiros will appear. Choose the fourth option to get Kiros to join you. Go out of the pub and walk downwards and cross the bridge. You'll have to fight random battles here. When you want to cross the bridge, there will be a sequence between Laguna and Kiros. After the sequence cross the bridge. In the next area, there is a flower shop and magic stone on the right. If you follow the path on the right, you'll be able to find a hidden magic stone at the truck. Go back and walk downwards. In the next area, there will be another scene when you walk to the edge of town and try to exit from the town. Head back to the area with the caution sign, there will be another scene. After the scene, go back to the pub and head for the second floor and there will be another sequence. When you regain control of Laguna, talk to Lane she will ask you to go back to some house. Ignore the message. There will be another scene if you talk to Elone. After that, go back to the house where Laguna woke up from and go to the second level. Go to the bed and choose the first option to sleep and the screen will fade and you will be with Zell, Selphie, Quistis and Rinoa 2.2 P R I S O N E R S O F E D E A ! ##################################################################### You will be back with Zell, Selphie, Quistis and Rinoa. After you gain conrol of Zell, Talk to everyone and then talk to Rinoa and there will be a short scene. The screen will then switch back to Squall who is held in a portable cell. Squall will open his eyes, and then there will be a FMV. After the FMV, you will be back with Zell and company. Some guards will enter the room and after Zell talks to them, they will start to beat Zell up. On seeing this happen, Rinoa leaves with the guards to save Zell's skin. The screen switches back to Squall and Seifer will enter the cell. He will throw Squall against the wall and after that, two orange monsters will take Squall away and the screen will fade. Squall will be taken to the torture chamber where is he is electrified. Seifer forces him to spill something out and I think that in the end, Squall spills the beans. The screen will switch back to Zell, Selphie and Quistis. A orange monster will enter the cell and trips while trying to give them their meal. A guard will come in and beats up the monster. Choose the first option to help the monster and the guard will run away. There will be another scene here. Squall is still under going torture, choose the first option and the screen will switch back to Zell. Talk to Quistis and there will be another scene. The monster will talk to Zell and then Quistis and Selphie will pretend that they are dead and Zell will call the guard. Zell will beat the guard up. You will have to go and find your weapons. Head up the stairs and you will see two Galbadian soldiers playing with your weapons. Fight them to get your weapons back. The screen will fade and you'll be back at the cell. The screen will fade and you'll be back with Squall and the three monsters that saved him. They keep calling for Moomba, a fellow monster. All your members will have their weapons back and they will show off some of their moves. Some guards will enter the room, followed by Biggs and Wedge. You'll have to fight them. You should use your G.Fs to kill them quicker and remember to draw the new spells from them. After defeating them, exit from the cell and Biggs will sound the alarm. Moomba will meet his friends and will head up the stairs. Follow them up to the thirteen floor to find Squall. On your way up, there are some cells which you can enter. There is a man selling items etc... You will have to fight random battles and there are some level which you have to run one round to get to the stairs. On the thirteen floor, there will be a lot of monsters like Moomba. Enter the door and you will find Squall. Exit the door and there will be a scene. Zell will leave the party. Go to the center of the prison and take the elevator. Once you reach the ground floor, head for the gate and press circle. You'll now be in control of Zell. Head downwards. You will frequently fight Galbadian soldiers. On one floor, you will be blocked by a soldier and Squall will come to your rescue. There will be soldiers shooting at you. Suddenly, Irvine will come to the rescue with Rinoa. After the funny sequence of Irvine being kicked down the stairs, you'll have to form two teams. One team consisting of Squall and Rinoa. Head to the fourteen floor. On the thirteen floor, you'll switch to Irvine and friends. His party must head to the first floor. On the sixth floor, there is a save point and you might want to save your game. Now you'll be back with Squall and you can talk to the monsters to receive a card and a tent. Head up the stairs on the south side. Exit through the lower right side of the control room. After a short conversation, there will be a boss battle! Kill the captain first as he can cast invincibility on the robots. Use Quetzalcoatl to deal more damage to the robots. Make sure you have a few potions as this can be a tough battle. After the battle, cross the bridge and there will be a FMV. After Rinoa and your other party member cross the bridge, then there will be another FMV as Squall crosses the bridge. After all the FMV's, you'll find two cars and will leave the prison. You'll end up at a road where there is a magic stone. Draw some magic from the magic stone once you regain control of Squall. Go up to the ledge where Selphie is standing and talk to her. You'll have a view of the missile base. Form two groups, one group with Selphie in it going to the missile base and one group going to Balamb Garden with Squall. Lets boogie! 2.3 E N T E R I N G T H E M I S S I L E B A S E ##################################################################### The screen switches back to Squall and friends. Go to the train through the gap in the lower end of the circular fence. Get onto the train and as the train starts to move, you'll see a Galbadian soldier chasing after the train. Back to Selphie and company. Save your game first. Go to the missile base. In the missile base, you'll disguise as Galbadian soldiers and will be able to enter the base. enter the door. Examine the blue light and you'll be able to enter the door on the left. Enter. As you enter the room, there will be a soldier at the door. Ignore it for now and run right. After you head down the stairs to the missile storage room, at the bottom of the stairs, turn to the back and you'll be in a room with two soldiers on the right and a magic stone on the left. Draw some magic, then talk to the soldiers. Head to the missile storage room and talk to the guy examining the warheads and choose any option. Go back to the two soldiers and talk to them. After that, go back to the area with the soldier that does not enter the door and talk to him. After that, he'll leave and you can enter the room. In the room, draw magic from the magic stone and then Selphie will examine the keyboard. Choose any option, and then exit the room. Two Galbadian soldiers will approach you. Choose the second option twice and you'll see something interesting. Go back to the warhead storage area and the guards will all enter the room. When you reach Garden, notice that the music is different. The students will all be running about. You will meet a Garden Faculty. Choose the first option to run or the second option to fight. Remember that you'll have to fight random battles. Find the principal and Sue. Go to the library, training center, parking lot, dormitory and find the Garden Faculties to fight some monsters. Go to the quad and some SeeD Cadets will jump down. Go to the infirmary and there will be a scene. Stop them and fight a monster. Go and talk to the Dr. After that, go to the elevator and you'll see Sue. Go to the second floor and go north to find Sue and there will be a scene. After that, go to the third floor to find Cid. He will give you a key. There will be a FMV. After that, go back to the elevator. The elevator will stop while going down. Examine the hatch at the floor of the elevator to go down the hatch. Note that as you climb down the stairs, the elevator will start to move. Go to the room on the left and examine the huge tap. You'll have to press square 10 times. Go there and after Cid gets pushed by a rude Faculty, prepare to fight Nogue. Nogue is weak against wind, so use wind spells. You can draw Leviathan from Nogue. Nogue is quite tough, so be prepared. After the battle, go to the dormitory and save your game. After that, go to the infirmary and talk to the Dr. Choose the second option. Go to the lobby and you'll meet Sue. Go up to the second floor and go to the door with the red blinking light. There is a scene and after that, Elone will leave with the ship. There is a FMV. Squall will be back at the dormitory. Leave the room and Cid will make a announcement. The screen will change to Cid who has problems with the controls. 2.5 A T F . H C I T Y ##################################################################### You should have an FMV. Squall will now be with Cid at the controls. Head down and your group will join you. Balamb Garden will now be docked at F.H city. Take the elevator to the second level. Go to the door with the blinking red light and you'll be in F.H. There will be a sequence with a man. Talk to everyone as you cross the bridge, when you reach the corner, there will be a FMV. Exit the area and go to your extreme right and talk to the man and choose the first option to enter F.H city. To get back to Balamb Garden, talk to the guy in the light colored shirt. Head down and you will see a windmill surrounded by water. Go to the windmill and up the stairs to the second floor. You'll will have a sequence here with a man and his wife. At the right corner, there is a hidden magic stone. Draw some magic and exit the windmill. You'll have another sequence with your party. Exit from the place. Next you will meet the man and his wife. Now head down the path on the right and you'll find a dismantled train track. In the compound, you'll see a man being threatened by a Galbadian captain. Choose the first option to help the man. You'll fight a similar boss like what you've fought before. The boss is weak against earth, water and lightning. This is not a tough boss to fight, just use your G.F's and bolt magic to deal damage. Heal your party members when necessary. After you've defeated the boss, Selphie and her members will come. After the scene, all your members will leave leaving Squall and Rinoa alone. Talk to Rinoa and choose any option. After that, leave and go back to Balamb Garden. You'll meet Irvine and he will join you. Head for the quad and you'll find Selphie. There will be a short sequence between Irvine and Selphie. Squall will now be at the control room with Cid. The screen will change to other parts of Garden where your other characters are, and then you'll be back at your room. The screen switches to your other party members who are at the windmill. Your party members are organizing a concert to cheer Squall up. You have to choose instruments for Zell, Irvine, Selphie and Quistis. There are eight instruments. The instruments: 1: Guitar 2: Saxophone 3: Electric Guitar 4: Piano 5: Violin 6: Flute 7: Electric Bass 8: Tap Dancing There two songs which you can play: Ballet: Requires Saxophone, Electric Guitar, Piano and Electric Bass. Folk: Guitar, Violin, Flute and Tap Dancing. After picking your instruments, get ready to rumble. Next Squall will awake. Exit the room and leave with Rinoa choosing the second option. When you reach the windmill, there will be a sequence. After that, head down to the windmill. Go to your right and you'll see a laptop on the ground. Examine it and there will be a scene. After the scene, Squall will be back in his room. After his dream, go to the third floor and you'll be able to fly Balamb Garden. Selphie is on vacation so you won't be able to use her. Controls of Airship: Garden square: Move forward X: Move back Circle: Board or unboard Garden Triangle: Go inside Garden R1: Change camera angle Select: World map 2.6 A T Z E L L ' S H O M E T O W N ##################################################################### Now go to Balamb dock. Outside of Balamb dock you'll see a red flying ship. That is actually Far East Garden or Galbadian Garden. Park Garden and enter. Zell will join you if he's not in your group. Talk to the man and then the lady and then the soldier. Repeat this and you'll be able to enter. Talk to everyone before going into Zell's house to talk to his family . In Zell's house, he will let you into his room. Have a rest and save your game. Head down and go into the room where Zell's siblings and mother is. Talk to his mother first then talk to talk his brothers. Repeat it twice. After that, the boy dressed in yellow and jeans, will run out of the room. After that, go to the house next to Zell's house and talk to anyone there and he will run out. Next, head to the gas station and you'll see the boy hiding. Go to Zell's house to save your game and then go back to the hotel to fight the boss! The boss battle should be easy if you know what to do. Kill one Galbadian soldier and draw bolt two from Raijin or the other soldier. Cast it on the soldier to kill him. Raijin is weak against poison so use poison magic. Raijin nullifies lightning so don't use bolt spells on him. Use all your G.F's except Quetzalcoatl. Raijin has a powerful attack which does about 400+ damage so use barrier to reduce the damage. After the battle, there will be another battle inside the hotel! This time you'll fight both Fuujin and Raijin. A tough battle. Don't use wind on Fuujin, and don't use lightning on Raijin. They are both weak against poison. Remember to draw Pandamonium from Fuujin. To defeat them, draw wind from Fuujin and use it on Raijin. And draw bolt2 from Raijin and use it on Fuujin. Use all G.F's except for Quetzalcoatl. And if you didn't know, Fuujin is quite cute. ^_^ After the battle, there will be a sequence. Fuujin and Raijin will leave and you'll be back at Garden. Selphie will be back from holiday. You have to go to Travia Garden. It is located on the north-east continent of the world map. 2.7 B R I N G I N G B A C K Y O U R C H I L D H O O D ##################################################################### When you reach Travia Garden, Selphie will climb up the green net and enter Travia Garden. Do the same and run straight. You'll see Selphie talking to her friend. There is a magic stone at the fountain. Go north east and examine the tombstone on the right to reveal a hidden magic stone. Go back and head north west. You'll find a couple of people here. Head left and you'll see a missile. It looks like the same missile that was shot at Garden. Head left and you'll be at the basketball court. Talk to everyone and then try to go back. You'll see a basketball rolling. Selphie will enter and there will be a sequence. You'll be brought back to the past. You'll now be controlling Squall. Head left and you'll see young Squall. Talk to him and he'll disappear. Enter the house and you'll see Irvine talking to the kids. Head up and you'll be at the backyard. Talk to young Squall and head for the beach. There will be a event and after that, the screen will switch back to the house. Irvine will talk to his young form and young Seifer will enter. Get Squall to talk to all the kids and they'll all disappear one by one. Exit through the door on the right. Talk to Irvine and then to Quistis. Then talk to Selphie and all of you will be back at the house. A strange lady will walk past. You'll be back in the present and there will be another sequence. It will start to snow. Everyone will leave, leaving Squall and Rinoa alone. Talk to her and the screen will fade and you'll be asked to form a new party. You'll now have to find Galbadian Garden, the ship you saw floating near Balamb dock the last time. 2.8 G A R D E N A T T A C K E D B Y G A L B A D I A ##################################################################### The ship is located on a forest at an island at the south. Once found, make contact with it. You'll be at the control room with Needa. There will be a short sequence. After that, Squall will be given nine options. Choose the first option to control Squall. Take the elevator and go down. Pick the first option to exit. You'll meet all your party members except Rinoa and Zell. Head for the Quad and there will be a FMV. After the FMV, go to the Quad and you'll see many SeeD and Garden members. Zell will be giving them instructions. Talk to Zell and there will be another scene. After that, Rinoa and the rest of your party members will appear. Talk to Rinoa and you'll be back at the control room. There is another FMV. You'll be back with Zell and his party. Go back to the stage. And yet another FMV. Head for the lobby. Note that all other entrances are blocked and you'll have to fight random battles. You'll see Squall and his party as you go to the elevator. Head for the central gate for a scene and you'll be asked to reform your party which must have Squall and 1. Selphie and Quistis 2. Quistis and Irvine 3. Selphie and Irvine Head for the classroom and there will be another FMV. There will be a battle with four green soldiers. Go to the lady after the battle and talk to her and she'll take the children and leave. Head back to the control room and you'll meet Dr. Kadowaki. There will be a scene. After that, head down to the second floor.Go to the door with the red light and talk to the boy. A green soldier will attack you! This is one of the mini games in FF VIII. The object of this mini game is to defeat the guard. Controls: D-pad: Makes Squall to move Circle: Makes Squall punch the guard. X: Makes Squall kick the guard Square: Makes Squall Block the guards attacks You know what to do. I think the kicks do more damage, so use the kicks.(And it looks cooler)^_^ If you are defeated, choose the first option and you'll be back at the area with the boy. There will be an FMV. Head left and you'll have another scene. You can draw magic from the magic stone hidden at the tree. Now enter Galbadian Garden. 2.9 I N S I D E G A L B A D I A N G A R D E N ##################################################################### Inside Galbadian Garden you'll be asked to reform your party. Save your game. Note that there are random battles. Getting Keycard No. 1 Take the path on the right. You'll be in a hallway with three doors. Only one can be opened. It's the one on the right. It's a staircase. Go up and you'll see Fuujin and Raijin. Talk to them and enter the room on the right. You'll meet a Garden cadet. Talk to him and he will give you the first Keycard. Go back to the beginning where the save point is. Getting Keycard No. 2 Now go left. enter the door on the left. It brings you to the hockey stadium. Cross the ice field. Draw magic from the magic stone under the goal post at the end. There is another magic stone at the room on the left. Go to the door on the right. You'll be in a hall with three paths. Go right and you'll be in a lecture hall with a man. Talk to him to get the second card. Now go back to the beginning where the save point is. How to get Cerebrus Now to get G.F Cerebrus. Go up the stairs where you found Fuujin and Raijin, then go up again and you'll find a door. Go inside and you'll be at the tennis court. Jump down and draw magic from the magic stone. Go into the building and head south. Ignore the stairs continue to move south. You'll be at the main hall like last time. Cerebrus is in the middle of the hall. Save your game by walking around Cerebrus and then approach it for a boss battle. The boss absorbs lightning and wind has no effect on him. Use all G.F's accept Quetzalcoatl and Pandomium. Draw triple and use it to cast magic. Make sure all your party members HP is above 1,000. Getting Keycard No. 3 After that, save your game and draw magic from the hidden magic stone under the light. Now head west and enter the door on the left side. Talk to the girl and she'll give you the third Keycard. Now to find Seifer and Edea. Go back to the main hall and go up to the stairs. On the second floor, go west and take the elevator to the third floor and you'll meet Seifer and Edea! Save at the save point and then walk forward and Seifer will approach you. After a short sequence, prepare to fight Seifer. Seifer is weak against poison, so use poison based spells. Draw haste and use it for faster summoning of G.F's. Seifer will use his spinning slash(my name for it) at least once. It does about 1,000+ damage so have a few Life 2 and Phoenix downs. Use limits to finish him. Find Edea Edea does her disappearing act again. So now to find her. Talk the elevator to the second floor and go to the hall on the right. Go in and examine the stage to have a sequence. Edea will appear from the top! Seifer will join her later. Another Boss battle! The last battle of Disc two! As you know, Seifer is weak against poison. Draw some Haste. Use some and store some for the battle against Edea.Use G.F's to finish the weak and injured Seifer. Edea is a BIG problem. She has got very damaging spells so be careful. Her shadow flare has improved. It deals about 500+ damage and causes darkness status. Draw cure to remove this status. Draw demi and use it on her. Have life magic and Phoenix downs. Also make sure that one of your characters has the item command. After the battle there will be a scene. Now change Discs and continue to play! Congrads. You're on Disc three! ===================================================================== Walkthrough Disc 3 ===================================================================== Ok, we are now on disc three. 3.1 I S E D E A A G O O D L A D Y ? ##################################################################### Squall will be lying on his bed. go and look at the injuried Rinoa and Quistis will tell you to go to Edea's house. It is the house on the edge of the island with the lighthouse. Go back onto the world map and head for Edea's house. Your party members will meet you outside the house. Once inside, you'll notice that the house is in a bad shape. Never mind about that. You'll find an item on the floor( it's a timber magazine). Go to the door at the top. There is a magic stone in the next room. Draw magic and go back. Now try to go to the exit on the right and Cid will suddenly appear. Freaky! After the short talk, go through the exit and meet Edea, along with her husband...... Cid! Talk to Edea four times and try to exit and she'll call you back. After that, you'll be back in Garden. 3.2 G O I N G B A C K T O T H E P A S T ##################################################################### Once you have control of Squall, have two people in mind. Equip them with G.Fs, especially Shiva. Go to the infirmary to find Rinoa and you'll be transported back to the past. Before you get to the past, the screen will change and you'll have to put the two characters you have had in your mind as Kiros and Ward. And of course, Squall is Laguna. Now Laguna will be with is friends Kiros and Ward. They are in the middle of producing a play where Laguna is the hero. Kiros and Ward are dressed as a dragon and Laguna is a knight in shiny armor. Laguna will enter the play. He comes forward and talks to the princess. And after the conversation, a red dragon will come down from the slopes. Laguna thought that it was Kiros and Ward, but it's actually a Rubul dragon! Now for another mini game. Mini game: Laguna V.S the Rubul dragon Controls: Square: Defend X: Attack Remember that Laguna's life bar will be shown on the left hand side and the Rubul dragons life bar is on the right. It's another straight forward game. Defend and attack. Nothing to it. If you die, choose the first option to resume fighting. After defeating the Rubul dragon, Kiros and Ward will come. You'll now have to fight the Rubul dragon in real life! Choose the first option to fight the Rubul dragon, or the second option to run and fight it later. if you are confident that you can win the battle without equiping kiros and Ward, then choose the first option. If not, RUN!!!!! Equip them with whatever G.Fs you have. Note that you'll have to fight random battles. Run up the cliff and save your game, then run back down to fight the Rubul dragon. He's kinda tough. Tougher than the T-rex at Balamb Garden! About the same amount of HP too. He's also got some damaging attacks. Use Shiva and Alexander ( hopefully you've gotten Shiva's aid command) to dish out the damage. After the battle, Laguna and his pals Kiros and Ward will be watching the sun set, and then the screen will fade. There will be some talking and you'll be back with Squall.
