Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 -- Time Study FAQ Written by PyroFalkon (pyrofalkon@hotmail.com) Version 1.0 Last Update: 03 November 2000 === --REVISION HISTORY-- 03 November 2000 (v1.0) - First release. === --OPENING BLURB-- I've written two semi-popular time studies already (one on Age of Empires II, and one on its expansion pack). To continue the tradition, I've decided to make one for my newest love, Red Alert 2. This FAQ has little fat, and a lot of meat. There's no review, no fluff talk aside from this section and my disclaimer. I give you the info you need, and that's that. I assure you that this time study can't and won't help you if you're a newbie. Check out NVarkovsky's fantastic FAQ for detailed info on missions and units if you're starting out. This FAQ is for the vets, especially those who frequently ally. Using this, you can accurately give your allies information on how long it'll take before you ready your army, or navy, or whatever. I won't go into the tech tree or what the units do. I'm going to assume you know the game well enough that you don't need to question "what's this?" every line. Okay, enough talk. === --NOTES-- The times are sorted by faction, then type, then unit name alphabetically. I split them every five to lessen confusion. The unique units for multi-player are listed at the end. Everything was timed with the speed setting on 5, the default. If you use a different setting, your time will vary accordingly. Everything was times with a very fast computer on a very fast network. If you have a slow computer and/or are lagging, your time will be a bit higher. I didn't list Navy SEALs because they are the same as Tanya's, and they're not used in multi-player. If you're in a campaign and need the SEALs' time, look up Tanya's. Same goes with the Psychic: they are replaced by Yuri's in multi-player. All times are in real seconds. I noticed that the game clock seems to tick a bit faster. Due to human error, allow me a half-second either way. === --ALLIES-- STRUCTURES Airforce Command ------- 14.09 Barracks --------------- 6.74 Battle Lab ------------- 28.81 Construction Yard ------ N/A Naval Shipyard --------- 12.11 Ore Purifier ----------- 35.86 Ore Refinery ----------- 29.14 Power Plant ------------ 16.09 Service Depot ---------- 16.74 War Factory ------------ 28.76 ARMORY Chronosphere ----------- 52.41 Gap Generator ---------- 19.29 Patriot Missles -------- 17.93 Pill-box --------------- 8.50 Prism Tower ------------ 27.56 Spy Satellite ---------- 26.87 Walls ------------------ 4.33 Weather Machine -------- 89.40 INFANTRY Attack Dog ------------- 4.40 Chrono Legionnaire ----- 30.21 Engineer --------------- 10.28 G.I. ------------------- 4.57 Rocketeer -------------- 11.54 Spy -------------------- 20.57 Tanya ------------------ 21.64 VEHICLES Aegis Cruiser ---------- 19.47 Aircraft Carrier ------- 29.44 Amphibious Transport --- 13.97 Chrono Miner ----------- 20.42 Destroyer -------------- 16.33 Dolphin ---------------- 8.39 Grizzly Tank ----------- 10.96 Harrier ---------------- 18.19 I.F.V. ----------------- 8.24 MCV -------------------- 63.31 Mirage Tank ------------ 14.94 Night Hawk ------------- 15.36 Prism Tank ------------- 17.99 === --SOVIETS-- STRUCTURES Barracks --------------- 5.47 Battle Lab ------------- 38.04 Cloning Vats ----------- 48.79 Construction Yard ------ N/A Naval Shipyard --------- 17.56 Nuclear Reactor -------- 20.28 Ore Refinery ----------- 24.08 Radar Tower ------------ 12.81 Service Depot ---------- 11.30 Tesla Reactor ---------- 8.34 War Factory ------------ 26.53 ARMORY Flak Cannon ------------ 20.39 Iron Curtain ----------- 51.27 Nuclear Missle Silo ---- 91.90 Psychic Sensor --------- 21.08 Sentry Gun ------------- 9.62 Tesla Coil ------------- 27.80 Walls ------------------ 5.11 INFANTRY Attack Dog ------------- 3.64 Conscript -------------- 3.60 Crazy Ivan ------------- 12.14 Engineer --------------- 10.21 Flak Trooper ----------- 5.45 Tesla Trooper ---------- 11.93 Yuri ------------------- 33.30 VEHICLES Amphibous Transport ---- 23.23 Apocalypse Tank -------- 39.91 Dreadnought ------------ 40.72 Flak Track ------------- 9.40 Giant Squid ------------ 19.46 Kirov Airship ---------- 36.48 MCV -------------------- 48.69 Rhino Heavy Tank ------- 20.75 Sea Scorpion ----------- 10.14 Terror Drone ----------- 8.00 Typhoon Attack Sub ----- 15.98 V3 Rocket Launcher ----- 12.69 War Miner -------------- 27.09 === --UNIQUE UNITS-- American Paratroopers - 128.40 British Snipers -------- 7.91 Cuban Terrorists ------- 1.34 French Grand Cannons --- 22.46 German Tank Destroyers - 10.31 Iraqi Desolators ------- 8.10 Korean Black Eagles ---- 19.71 Libyan Demo Trucks ----- 24.13 Russian Tesla Tanks ---- 18.42 == --FINAL BLURB AND LEGAL STUFF-- This is my fourth FAQ.
