This FAQ covers almost (hopefully I did not miss out anything) every aspect of the game. Some personal comments above DBZ: Legacy of Goku II: I actually own this game cart around 2 years ago but started replaying this time round when I finally get passed the first boss (Frieza). I have decided to make a FAQ to cover my game experience for this game. Hopefully, this helps you in completing this game as well. Make sure you read the basics section (section 3.0). -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 1.0 Controls -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The controls are really simple and below are the buttons and what they do: ---------------------------------------------------------------- MENU TERRAIN ---------------------------------------------------------------- C-PAD Toggle between options Moves your character A Select Normal Attack B Cancel Use special attacks L Cycle menu page left Toggle between modes R Cycle menu page right - START No use Activate the menu SELECT No use Activates the scouter* * This option will be available after Bulma has successfully fixed the scouter. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 2.0 Playable Characters -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- There are a total of 6 playable characters and they are playable as you progress into the story. I have arranged them according to the order that they are playable. Each character (except for Hercule) has 2 special energy attack and 1 special melee attack. More aspects about each individual is being described under the Notes section. For EP consumption, you will find a (min) next the EP amount indicates that is the minimum EP in order to use that special energy attack. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.1 Son Gohan ----------------------------------------------------------------------- You will be able to play as him at the begining of the game. Super Kick (Special Melee Attack) Description: Hold down the A button and allow it to charge. When the attack is charged, let the A button go, and you will do a powerful kick. Obtain: Upon receiving "Train with Master Roshi" quest, go to Master Roshi's Island and talk to Master Roshi using Gohan to get the skill. Notes: This technique will causes Gohan to leap forward to the location that he is facing. The longer you hold down the A button, the higher the damage this skill will do. Masenko Ball (Special Energy Attack) Description: This is an energy attack that is launched on an arc and explodes upon hitting the ground. To use this attack, press the B button. Hold down the B button to increase the range of the attack. Obtain: You will get this skill automatically once 3 years of training event has passed. Notes: It has an 'area-effect' damage (i.e. any enemies within the area will be damaged). The longer you hold, the more damage this skill will do with a greater energy consumption. EP: 4 (min) Kamehameha (Special Energy Attack) Description: This is a powerful energy beam. Holding down the B button will sustain the attack. Obtain: You will get this skill automatically upon having Gohan and Goku completed their training at Hyperbolic Time Chamber. He will also get his Super Saiyan ability as well. Notes: Gohan will fire a beam of energy where he is facing. The beam will substained as long as you are holding the B button. It is extremely useful for fighting enemies that are standing in a line. EP: 5 (min) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.2 Piccolo ----------------------------------------------------------------------- He will be playable once you have completed Hercule's Parade at West City with Gohan. Talk to him and he will be playable. Whirlspin (Special Melee Attack) Description: Hold down the A button and allow it to charge. When the attack is charged, let the A button go, and you will do a powerful spinning punch. Obtain: Upon receiving "Train with Master Roshi" quest, go to Master Roshi's Island and talk to Master Roshi using Piccolo to get the skill. Notes: In my opinion, this is the weakest charged melee attack among all skills. Although it guards Piccolo from all directions, but it does not causes Piccolo to move forward thus you are unable to chain it with your normal attacks. Special Beam Cannon (Special Energy Attack) Description: This is a powerful energy beam that will pass through enemies. Holding down the B button will sustain the attack. Obtain: You will get this skill automatically once 3 years of training event has passed. Notes: Piccolo will fire a beam of energy where he is facing. The beam will substained as long as you are holding the B button. It is extremely useful for fighting enemies that are standing in a line. EP: 5 (min) Scatter Shot (Special Energy Attack) Description: This attack fires three energy blasts that spread outward. Obtain: You will automatically acquires this skill when Piccolo has fused with Kami (before fighting Cell) Notes: The scatter shot will fires 3 ki blasts in 3 outward directions. EP: 12 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.3 Vegeta ----------------------------------------------------------------------- He will be playable after you make contact with Androids 20 and 19 at Amenbo Island. Vegeta also starts off with attaining his Super Saiyan powers. Two-Handed Smash (Special Melee Attack) Description: Hold down the A button and allow it to charge. When the attack is charged, let the A button go, and you will slam down your fists with a devastating effect. Obtain: Upon receiving "Train with Master Roshi" quest, go to Master Roshi's Island and talk to Master Roshi using Vegeta to get the skill. Notes: As Vegeta leaps forward upon executing the smash, you can chain it with your regular melee attacks. One of the best combo finishers in the game. Big Bang (Special Energy Attack) Description: This attack fires a destructive blast of exploding energy. Holding down the B button will charge the attack, making it more powerful. Obtain: Vegeta comes with it when he joins your party. Notes: You can charge it by holding down B button, thus holding on the release of the energy ball but it will deal more damage and travel a longer distance. However it is possible to use it for a quick release. EP: 12 (min) Energy Punch (Special Energy Attack) Description: This attack is a powerful punch that is charged with energy. Each punch drains your energy. Obtain: After Vegeta and Trunks has completed their training at Hyperbolic Time Chamber Notes: This is one of the most useful energy skills in the game. It is easy to use just like your normal melee attacks. But take note that it drains EP unlike your charged attacks. It does 1.5 more damage than regular punches provided Vegeta has same stats for STR and POW. It is your life saviour when you have to use Ultra Super Saiyan (it is strong but it is freaking slow!) EP: 4 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.4 Trunks ----------------------------------------------------------------------- You get to control him at the future cutscenes. However you will get to control him at the present time when Trunks is to investigate the disturbances at Gingertown with Gohan. He has also starts with his Super Saiyan powers attained. Cross Slash (Special Melee Attack) Description: Hold down the A button and allow it to charge. When the attack is charged, let the A button go, and you will do a powerful slashing attack with your sword! Obtain: Trunks comes with it when he joins your party. Notes: Like Vegeta's Two-Handed Smash, it also has a leaping forward action upon execution and it is more easier to chain with your regular punch attacks. It does around 1.5x - 2.0x more than Trunk's regular punch combos. It seems weird to have Trunks using his sword when he is wearing his Saiyan armor. Burning Attack (Special Energy Attack) Description: This energy attack will stun any enemy, making them temporarily immobile. Obtain: Trunks comes with it when he joins your party. Notes: This is my personal favourite energy attack. It allows you to stun the enemy temporarily for 1~2 secs (for bosses) and 3~5 seconds (for non-bosses). Upon being hit by the attack, the enemy will be stun and will regains movement after its body starts to glow. It is a good starter attack for chain combos with his sword slash. EP: 6 Sword Blast (Special Energy Attack) Description: This attack will make Trunks swing his sword in tandem with a destructive wave of energy. Obtain: After Vegeta and Trunks has completed their training at Hyperbolic Time Chamber Notes: Just treat it like a stronger version of an energy blast with faster speed and damage (it does around 2.0x damage but uses around 5 EP per energy attack). Use it only when you are fighting stronger enemies and Trunks' HP is critical. EP: 5 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.5 Goku ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The game's leading character for this series turn out to be featuring more on Gohan and Trunks than the main lead himself. Goku is only playable only after Goku and Gohan has come out of training from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Flurry Punch (Special Melee Attack) Description: Hold down the A button and allow it to charge. When the attack is charged, let the A button go, and you will let loose a barrage of punches! Obtain: Goku comes with it when he joins your party Notes: Probably the best charged attack in the game. You can still deal more damage after the release of the move by tapping A button for 3 more hits. It also works Gohan's Super Kick as well. Kamehameha (Special Energy Attack) Description: This is a powerful energy beam. Holding down the B button will sustain the attack. Obtain: Goku comes with it when he joins your party Notes: Goku will fire a beam of energy where he is facing. The beam will substained as long as you are holding the B button. It is extremely useful for fighting enemies that are standing in a line. EP: 5 (min) Spirit Bomb (Special Energy Attack) Description: This attack creates a giant bomb of energy with a large blast radius. Holding down the B button will charge the attack, making it more powerful. Nearby enemies will also be stunned. Obtain: Goku comes with it when he joins your party Notes: This is the most powerful energy attack. It works with the same principle as Vegeta's Big Bang. When fully charged, Goku will tosses a large energy ball towards the direction his facing. Don't be surprised to see Goku using it when he is Super Saiyan form! EP: 8 (min) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.6 Hercule ----------------------------------------------------------------------- He will be playable once you have gotten all 5 Character Trophies ( Goku's one can be obtained by defeating Cell at Cell Games and the rest of the trophies can be found at Level 50 Character Gates. For more details, please refer to section 9.0. Hercule comes with a "victory pose" icon. Hit B to use it. It will freezes all enemies found in that area for a temporarily 4 to 5 seconds. That technique requires 6 EP per pose. Other than, you are left the basic melee attacks. He cannot use energy blasts! As he starts off all Level 40 (or Level 1 if Goku has not reached Level 45 when he battles Cell), he has very *miserable* stats. You need to use the attributes capsules that you have found throughout the game and use it on him. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 3.0 Basics -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- If you are new to the series of Legacy of Goku, I suggest that you do some reading on this section. This section provides you the essentials on how to play this game and some tips. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.1 Knowing the Status Bar ----------------------------------------------------------------------- When you are on the terrain, you will see a status bar similar to the ASCII below on the top left corner of the screen. _ Charge Meter Mode _ |_______________________ |_| || /______________________| - HP (Hit Points gauge) |_||/_______________________| - EP (Energy Points gauge) =========================== - EXP (Experience gauge) -[HP]- The red bar (top-most) represents the character's HP. Once it is fully depleted, it will be an automatic gameover. To restore HP, you can do this in 2 methods. The first method is to gain a level and the second alternative is being healing objects dropped by enemies or from smashing boulders/objects. -[EP]- The green bar (middle) reprsents the character's EP. Whenever you use the character's special attacks (i.e. energy blast, kamehameha, etc), you will use EP. EP will restore gradually as you move on the terrain. You cannot use special attacks when your character's EP is fully depleted. To restore EP, there are basically 3 methods. The first method is to wait (but it will waste your time...). The second method is gain levels. The last method is defeat enemies and pick EP orbs dropped from the enemy to restore your HP. EP Orbs can be also found from smashing boulders/objects. -[Mode]- Basically, all playable characters have Energy Blast mode, Z mode (or Transformation) and 2 Special Energy Attack. To toggle the modes, just tap on the L button to cycle between your available modes. Hit B button to activate it. -[Transformation - Z Mode]- To transform into a Super Saiyan (for the 4 playable Saiyans - Goku, Trunks, Vegeta and Gohan) or Super Namek (for Piccolo), you need to use the Z Mode. Hit B and your character will transform. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Character Obtain -------------------------------------------------------------------- Gohan After completing training at Hyperbolic Time Chamber Piccolo After Piccolo has fused with Kami at the Lookout Vegeta Comes with it Trunks Comes with it Goku Comes with it Before transformation, you need to have at least some ki (the amount is undefined by me) and the charge meter has to be a full yellow triangle. Just activate it by hitting the B button. Transformation takes time. If your character got hit during transformation, he will not transform succesfully and you have to wait for the charge indicator to be filled first. In Super Saiyan/Namek mode, your character's EP will start to depleting as time progresses. Once EP is being fully depleted, your character will revert back to his original form. In transformation mode, your character will have increased attacking power and speed. However there are 2 special Super Saiyan modes: - Ultra Super Saiyan Mode During your quest in preventing Cell absorbing Android 18, Vegeta and Trunks will be using this mode. The attacking power has greatly increased but the speed has been greatly reduced though. After Trunks has been defeated by Perfect Cell, you can no longer uses this special transformation. - Super Saiyan Rage AKA Super Saiyan 2 (SSJ2) Only Gohan could uses this and he will use this during the battle against Perfect Cell at the Cell games. Once Cell is defeated you will no longer be able to transform into SSJ2. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.2 Scouter and Radar ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The scouter will be usable by pressing the Select Button (This will be provided that you have completed the Scouter Bronze Quest to fix it.) Once in scouter mode, everyone will freezes and you cannot scan your current character on the screen but only nearby objects. Hit R button and you will be able to view the radar map of the area. Anything that you capture on the scouter will be stored in the Capsule Corporation Computer. To scout on an object, just activate scouter and move the cursor onto the object and hit A and you will find the objects' attributes (HP, STR, POW, END) and a description. Below is the radar indicators: Green Areas - Explored Areas Grey Areas - Unexplored Areas* Blue Circle - Save Circle Brown Block - World Map Icon Orange Circle - Flight Pad Red Dot - Current Location Rectangle - Character Gates - Light Blue - Gohan - Green - Piccolo - Blue - Vegeta - Purple - Trunks - Orange - Goku - Red - Hercule Dragon Ball - Dragon Ball (of course!) * The grey areas will only appears after Bulma has upgraded your scouter. Talk to her after you have watched Cell's message to world on the Cell Games. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.3 Healing Objects ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -[Healing Objects]- It can be split into 2 categories - Food Items and Energy Orbs. These items are commonly dropped by smashing objects (like boulders/rocks/ pots/vases/objects) or even defeating enemies. Food items restores HP and energy orbs restores EP. -------------------------------------------------- Healing Objects Restore Effect -------------------------------------------------- Chicken Leg Small amount of HP Turkey Medium amount of HP Three-Course Meal Large amount of HP EP Orb (small) Small amount of EP EP Orb (medium) Medium amount of EP EP Orb (large) Large amount of EP ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.4 Items ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -[Senzu Beans]- In the early stages, you will travel and meet Yajirobe, who will give you a Senzu Beans everytime you meet him. However as you progress in the later stages (upon accessing the Kami's Lookout or Trunks becomes playable), you need to catch 3 Fish to exchange one Senzu Bean with Korin, who resides in his tower just underneath the Lookout (it is accessible by using the flight pad on the lookout). You can only carry up to a maximum of 3 Senzu Beans at one time. To catch a Fish, you need to defeat enemies that are found near water-filled regions. It is very easy to catch fish at Tropical Islands. So why the hassle to catch fish? It is because a Senzu Bean FULLY restores your character's HP and EP! -[Attributes Capsules]- They offers permanent attribute increasement by +1, +3 and +5, depending on the capsule. There are 3 types - Power, Strength and Endurance. They are found scattered in various parts of the world. You can get them via questing or defeating a boss too. -[Key Items]- Most of these items are obtained by talking to NPCs or completing quests and some of them is vital to complete a specific quest. For more details, please refer to the Items Bestiary. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.5 Character Gates ----------------------------------------------------------------------- As stated earlier in Section 3.3, Character Gates varies in colour codes. A character gate usually has a number on its gate and a colour. It means which character is required to access this gate and the level required of that character to in order to access it. For example, you cannot open a ? purple gate with Piccolo at Triceratops Jungle because that gate is meant for Trunks. If the digit is represented by a "?" instead of a number, it means that character is still not playable. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.6 Status Screen ----------------------------------------------------------------------- To access the main menu, just hit the START button. You will start off with the status screen. You can switch between pages by tapping L or R. Basically, it works like a ring as shown in the diagram below. L __________[Status]_________ R | | [Journal]-[Options]-[Items] [Status] You will see the list of playable characters tab on the top with the current character that you are using as the being first shown up as you activate the menu. If your character level up, you will be able to use A button to assign to 3 attributes (per level) to any 3 of the following attributes: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Abbr. Meaning What it does? ------------------------------------------------------------------- STR Strength Affects your character's normal attacks POW Power Affects your character's EP attacks END Endurance Affects your character's defense Hit Down on the C-Pad and you will see the list of available modes and hit A on the them to view on how to execute them. The maximum level that a character can obtain is Level 50. [Journal] The game progressed in a way by completing journal entries. To progress to next stage of the game, you need to fulfilled the required journal entry. There are optional entries which leads to sidequests, etc. You can keep track of the entries by tap L when you access the menu. Journal will be issued upon completion of another journal entry or as you progress into the game. The journal entries are rated by the colour of the stars - Gold, Silver and Bronze. Gold journal entries are story events, silver journal entries are special quests while bronze entries are optional quests. For more details, please refer to Section 8.0 for more details. [Options] You can change the text speed, sound FX volume, music volume, put the game into sleep mode or view the credits. [Items] You will find all the capsules that you have collected, Senzu Beans, Fish and other special key items in this list. Please that you can carry a certain number of items which is indicated by the number below the item's name. For example, you can carry only a maximum number of 3 Senzu Beans in your inventory. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.7 Saving & The World Map ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -[Saving]- To save your game, you just need to locate the Save Circle (it is a large platform which has the Capsule Corporation Sign). You can also use the Save Circle to switch between playable characters (which will be available after you have recruited Piccolo to your team) -[World Map]- To access the world map, just examine the world map icon (it is a signboard with a red X on it). Accessible places/dungeons are indicated by purple dots on the radar. The next area you need indicated are indicated by a star instead. To access the area, just move your character to the location and hit A to access it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.8 Basic Fighting Tips IMPORTANT ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Despite I have gotten this game 2 YEARS ago, I have started to playing after I have just finished Buu's Fury (which is more fun than this game and I have to admit it) because this game is really tough. Yup, don't be surprised that you get a gameover at the start of the first boss fight. Here are some basic tips: 1) Don't bother to limit the use of EP 2) Trap and Hit Strategy 3) Get the scouter as soon as possible 4) Level-up before boss fight! 5) Approach enemies one-by-one and not in groups -[Don't bother to limit the use of EP]- Use your energy blast to your advantage. They causes only 2 EP per blast and allows you to attack from far range. Use it as a chain starter as it will temporarily 'stuns' an enemy which makes easier for you to initiate the first melee attack. Of course, don't use them recklessly. Just use them as you feel necessary. They are a life-saver and in fact the best energy attack in the game. Besides you can restore them as you defeat the enemy. -[Trap and Hit Strategy]- Once you managed to hit the enemy for the first time, it is possible to keep on hitting the enemy till he is dead. Just hit A button and push +Control Pad towards the direction that enemy is moving. Just keep on chasing him till he cannot counter attack. This strategy is EXTREMELY useful against bosses. If you got counter-attacked, throw in an energy blast first before resuming your attack. Once you are about to reach the end of the area, the direction will automatically reversed so take note of it (i.e. you will chasing your opponent towards the opposite direction where you come from). Once you get the hang of it, train to chain these regular attack with special melee attack (except for Piccolo). This strategy takes time to train but it is vital in completing the game. Of course, do not hestiate to use Senzu Bean when your HP is critical. It is better to waste an item than having a game over. -[Get the scouter as soon as possible]- When you have the scouter, you can do 2 things. Firstly, you can get data on the enemy and you could roughly understand the enemy's abilites and attributes. Secondly, you will be able to access the dungeon map of the region, which is very useful in case you get lost. -[Level-up before a boss fight!]- I would never use a Senzu Bean just for the purpose of restore HP/EP back to max just to challenge a boss but I would use it only when my character's HP is critical. Understand the logic? Who knows you might end up using the Senzu Bean during the boss fight instead... One of the reasons for levelling up is because it allows your character to become stronger. However the main reason is upon levelling up, your character's HP/EP will be FULLY restored and it is as good as using a Senzu Bean! -[Approach enemies one-by-one and not in groups]- If you spot a group of Warthogs in a pack, would you handle them all at once or handle them one by one? The reasons for not handling all at once is because there is a possibility of your character being trapped (which I have experienced a lot in playing this game). Just take your time to finish them off one-by-one. Throw an energy blast to lure them to you one-by-one. The enemies in the game is very easy to provoke ^_^; -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 4.0 Complete Walkthrough -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The walkthrough aims to cover EVERY aspect of the game. If you are looking for a speed walkthrough, please refer to other FAQs. As it covers a lot of details, there are bound to be a lot of SPOILERS. So avoid reading it too much unless you are trapped in the game. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.1 Pepper Town (Future) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The game starts off with Trunks talking with adult Gohan in future 16 years after Goku has defeated Frieza. Below is Trunks' initial stats +-----------------------------------------------------------+ | Trunks Level 6 HP: 151 END: 33 | | | | STR: 12 EXP: 1000 | | POW: 7 NEXT: 550 | | END: 8 | +-----------------------------------------------------------+ You will learn some basics as you will be controlling Trunks. Do what Gohan tells Trunks to do. Once you are done with smashing the boulders, board the flight circle. Once in the town, make your way to the northwest area where Trunks find the fallen Gohan against the devastating Androids... --- End of Future Sequence --- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4.2 East District 439 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You will be back at the present time with Gohan studying. Once you are done, you will be given your first task: ================================================ Journal #1 (Gold) Find The Mathbook ================================================ By the way, here is Gohan's initial stats. +-----------------------------------------------------------+ | Gohan Level 1 HP: 85 END: 20 | | | | STR: 3 EXP: 40 | | POW: 5 NEXT: 10 | | END: 3 | +-----------------------------------------------------------+ Exit your room via the path on the right and you will end in the living room. Go up the stairs and move your way close to the blue book that is found on the round table. A message prompt will pop up. Pick it with the A button. Pick up the book and return back to Gohan's desk. Do not attempt to get out of the house as you are bound to be stopped by Chi-Chi. There will be some scenes. The window should be opened by now. Exit via the window. There is a Save Circle just directly behind the house. Move towards the northwest corner of the screen. There is a small pathway that leads to an area that contains a Power +1 Capsule. The path is located just above the cliff behind Grandpa Gohan's house, which is on the right. Save your game. Now make your way to the east area. Once you reach the area, there will be another prompt that indicates you can make Gohan run by double tap a direction on +Control Pad. There is a Level 1 Character Gate blocking your way. Hit it with an attack. Move north a bit and you will find another gate (but it states Level 2). Ignore the door for the time being and head right. There will be some scenes and you will battle... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Frieza HP: 130+ He is quite tough and his attack does around 5 to 10. Gohan starts at a very low level. The objective is trap him in a corner and keep on attack him. If your HP get low, hit the boulder and move Gohan over the food item (it can be a drumstick or three course meal) to restore your lost hit points. He could use ki blasts, which you can in turn nullify it with your own ki blasts. The objective is to keep on attack him until he cannot counter. It may take you a few tries, so don't give up! EXP: 20 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Once the battle is over, Gohan gains a level with HP/EP restored. Once Gohan has awaken from his nap, make your way to the living room. Examine the phone and there will be a conversation with Krillin and there will be a second journal entry: ================================================ Journal #2 (Gold) Meet Krillin and the others in the Northern Wastelands. ================================================ Make your way back to the area where you find the level 2 character gate for Gohan. Break the gate. Head there and search the chest where you will find the Saiyan Battle Armor. Pick it up and head north from the cave. There will be a world map icon. Examine and you will be at the world map. Now make your way to the star that is indicated on the radar. There will be a checker that states "Northern Wastelands". ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4.3 Northern Wastelands ------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________________________ Enemies: Tiger Bandit HP: 38 STR: 6 POW: 3 END: 4 Ladybug HP: 29 STR: 1 POW: 7 END: 4 _______________________________________________________________ Once you land on the land, prepare for some battles. Defeat the three Ladybugs in the vicinity to deactivate the electric barrier, which will allows you to pass. In next area, there are 4 Tiger Bandits. The northwest path leads to 2 Tiger Bandits and a character gate for Goku. The southwest path leads to also 2 Tiger Bandits but the bridge path is being cut off. Just keep on moving between these 2 areas to train Gohan. One smart move is to throw a ki blast at the enemy before rushing forward to attack with Gohan's basic melee attacks. The Tiger Bandit has around 40+ HP ea. So it will take around 4 to 5 hits to finish them off. My recommendation is that you get Gohan to a decent level around Level 6 and above, he could finish off the enemies in 1 to 2 hits. The objective is to level Gohan to a level where he can finish off those annoying ladybugs in 2 hits. Once you are done, take the north path. There will be 2 Lady Bug and 2 Tiger Bandits along the path. Dispose them and there will be a Save Circle along with another flight circle. Save your game and take the flight pad. From the flight pad, head southeast and collect the +1 Strength Capsule. You will find members of the Z Fighters - Tien, Chiaotzu, Krillin, Bulma, Yamcha, Puar and Vegeta. Talk with them and head north where Gohan will be stopped by Piccolo. Head north to the next area. Make your way to the northmost tip and there will be a cutscene. Talk to everyone and take the flight circle. Talk to Trunks (you know him right?) and there will be some more scenes and information about your future enemies. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.4 East District 439 - Goku's House ----------------------------------------------------------------------- You will be at the yard in front of Goku's House with Goku. You are given 2 options - train at the woods or surprise Chi-Chi with Goku. Head back home as Chi-Chi will be worried... Make your way to the living room. There will be some scenes. Talk with Goku and you will need to meet Piccolo at the West City. Goku suggests that you can go to the woods in south to train. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.5 East District 439 - Woods ----------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________________________ Enemies: Wolf HP: 65 STR: 8 POW: 1 END: 4 Snake HP: 37 STR: 7 POW: 1 END: 3 _______________________________________________________________ There will be Garlic Jr. jar appearing on the top right hand corner of screen. This means that you have entered into an area that is infected by Garlic Jr's Black Water Mist. There are 2 Wolves and 2 Snakes in the vicinity. Be on your guard as they could be very dangerous if Gohan's HP is low. The top west path leads to an area with a gate with a blue ? (which is only accessible by Vegeta) with 3 snakes in your way. There are 2 wolves and a snake in southern region of this area. Use the same method that you have handled the previous enemies and you should be fine. If Gohan is at level 7, you should be able to kill off a snake with 2 ki blasts. Once you are done with your training, examine the World Map icon and Goku will come in. There will be a journal entry added. ================================================ Journal #3 (Gold) Go to West City ================================================ Make your way to the West City (indicated by the star icon on the radar) There will be a short chat with Goku and eventually the following journal entries: ================================================ Journal #4 (Gold) Get the Hercule Parade started to gain access to Piccolo ================================================ ================================================ Journal #5 (Bronze) See Bulma at Capsule Corporation. ================================================ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.6 West City ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Make your way to West City, which is indicated by a star on the radar. Hercule Parade ----------------- There is a guy with an afro hairstyle and that's Hercule. Talk to him and you will receive Hercule's Autograph. (Do you have a trash can? Err... keep it for later use.) Talk to Mayor. (What!? the Mayor of the world is a dog!). You will find out from the Mayor that Hercule Day Parade will not get started unless he gets an Open Faced Club Sandwich. You will be prompted to go to Big Mouth and get the chef to make one such sandwich for him. ================================================ Journal #6 (Silver) Get an open face club sandwich for Hercule ================================================ If you want to know about the layout of the city, there is a directory on the right side of the area, which looks more like a post box to me. Head south until you reach the restaurant (that is a lips shaped logo on top of its entrance). Enter it. Heh. The restaurant's business is pretty bad? No customers! Talk to Floyd who is just behind the counter. He will made a sandwich unless you get him a newspaper. Make your way back to the area where you find Hercule and take the east route. There is an old lady (Liz) in front of the stand. Talk to her. Head northeast till you see a roadblock. There is a lady and a man. Talk to the man (Clarence). You will find out that his son is missing and won't start to work unless his son returns. Talk to the lady (Mrs. Strickland) and she will say about a field trip... Make your way towards north to the new area. Notice that background music has changed. The man will approach you and you will be given this journal: ================================================ Journal #7 (Silver) Save the four missing childen at West City Highway ================================================ There is a Save Circle. In your way, there is 2 wolves. Defeat them and proceed. Move along the winding path where you will encounter 2 more wolves along the way. Take the north path. You will find 4 wolves gathering together. Slaughter them and this is an ideal place for training, since wolves are a lot more easier to handle than other enemies found in this dungeon. Head west from there and there will be another wolf on the winding path. Proceed south and you will reach an empty area with a child. Talk to the child to rescue him. Well, that is one down and three to go. Proceed back to the area where you find the 4 wolves. Take the north path. You will find a boy being surrounded by 3 wolves. Talk to the boy and you have rescued the second one! Make your way to the area where you encounter snakes along with wolves. Take the east route. You will find 2 Ladybugs (which can be easily toasted with a single ki blast if Gohan has reached level 11.) You will find Yajirobe and he will give a Senzu Bean. [Save it and use it only when you HAVE TO use it.] Proceed north. You will find 2 tiger bandits lurking around the shambles walkway. Take the pathway on the extreme right. There are 4 snakes on first 2 platforms. On the next 2 platforms, you will fight 2 wolves and there is a cave entrance. Enter it. You will find the 3rd child and a Save Circle. Exit and head north until you find a snake on the highway. There are 3 more snakes on the road. Move across the giant red bridge and you will reach an area with a flight circle. Board it and it will lead you to the damaged school bus and you will find the last child! Now make your way back to the entrance (marked it on the radar). Do not hestiate to give Gohan some more training. The future battles are going to tougher. At the entrance, talk to the man (Larry) near the Save Circle. Return back to the newspaper stand and get a Newspaper. Make your way back to Big Mouth Restaurant. Give the Newspaper to Floyd and you will get Open Faced Sandwich in exchange for it. Return back to the town square where you find Hercule and you will be given another journal entry. ================================================ Journal #8 (Silver) Find the album Eyes of The Lion and give it to Hercule. ================================================ Talk to the mayor and he will direct you to the record store. Make your west from the town square. You will find an old couple on a bench. Behind is the record store "Doctor Vinyl". Enter inside the store. Talk to the owner (Cosmo) and he will ask you to check out at the antique shop "West City Antiques". It is just behind the 2 residence houses. Talk to the owner (Merv) and you will receive "Eyes of the Lion" album! Exit the shop and head east from there (within the walls). You should reach the golden capsule that is being surrounded by walls. Pick it up. Make your way east from the store. You will meet a woman and a kid running around the field. Talk to the woman (Anna) and she will tell Gohan her son wants a Hercule's autograph. Talk to her son (Fernando) and you get a Golden Capsule in return! Now make your way to the town square you find Hercule (just contour around the walls). Talk to him to get the parade started. Once the parade is over, Hercule will no longer be at the town square. Before looking for Piccolo, you might want to pay Bulma a visit. Go and head towards the area in the southeast. The buildings in the south are the West City Apartments (you will find red alphabets on top of it). North off the apartments, you will find 3 residence houses. The house on the right has another +1 Strength Capsule. You will meet an old granny (Maude) inside the middle house. There is a chest that is locked. Ignore it for the time being. Make your way towards east of the area and you will find a red Capsule Corporation signboard. Head east. You will find Goku and another Save Circle. Save your game and talk to Goku. Once you are done, head north and there is another World Map marker in the middle of a cross junction. Head north to enter the building. The building has 3 paths. The path in front leads the atrium (I will be covering it later in the walkthrough). Take the east path. You will find a door that leads to the Computer Room (which needs a level red key card). South off that area, you will meet with Dr. Briefs in his lab. Talk to him and you will be given the following journal entry: ================================================ Journal #9 (Bronze) Find the 25 Golden Capsules for Dr. Briefs. ================================================ * You cannot get this journal done at this moment for the time being. The path in the lab that is heading south will leads to the east area of the cross junction. Return back to the main lobby. Take the west path and you will eventually end in a stairsway. The access to the door in level BA is denied as you need an authorisation of level blue to access. There are another 2 blue level denied access in the west and east tower accessible via the door for Level 03. Head up to the door marked "Level 02". The pathway will eventually leads to the living room where you find Mrs. Brief. Talk to her and you will get a Cookie! =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= Infinite Cookies from Mrs. Briefs! You can get infnite amount of cookies until you have 99 of them. However the cookie could restore a mere 5 HP to Gohan. So use them only if you are seriously in need of healing. =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= Exit via the northeast door and head north. You will get the Scouter Note. You need to head for the electronic store called "Circuit Snack" to repair the scouter that Bulma has found in Planet Namek. Head north the door off her room and you will end up in the balcony. Remember to pick up the +1 Power Capsule located near the furniture. By the way, you will also given the following journal note: ================================================ Journal #10 (Bronze) Deliver Bulma's note to the Electronics Store ================================================ Exit the Capsule Corporation and make your way to the Town Square. Head west off here until you reach a building. It is being indicated a black pocket screen icon on the map. Enter the building. You will find multiple monitor screens at the front of building, enter it. You will find a Gameboy Advance on the table. Talk to the guy (Otaku) inside the building. Talk to the owner, Bucky who is behind the register. You will get the Scouter Part and the journal entry has been updated again. ================================================ Journal #11 (Bronze) Deliver the scouter part to Bulma. ================================================ Make your way back to Capsule Corporation. Talk to Bulma and she will fix the scouter for you. You will get the Scouter. Now you can use the scouter using the SELECT to get some vital information for your future battles! On your way out to the lobby, the receptionist will prompt you that Dr. Briefs wants Gohan to investigate the coporate espionage. ================================================ Journal #12 (Bronze) Investigate the capsule corporation espionage. ================================================ Head to the east exit where you find the guard and a locked gate. You will get the Blue Access Card. Make your way to the area where you find the stairs. Enter the door "Level BA" (you should be able to do so due to the card) At the basement, there are 2 capsules lying on the foot. Pick them up and you will get a +3 Strength Capsule (red) along with +3 Endurance Capsule (pink). Exit and make your way to the door marked "Level 03". You will find a scientist here. You won't be able to access to the west tower. Head for the other tower. There is a Save Circle along with a switch at the top left hand corner of the screen. Examine and it will remove the lock on the west tower. Make your way to the West Tower. Talk to the guy near the computer (Newman) and notice the colour of box... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Wolf HP: 400 STR: 11 POW: 1 END: 5 Heard of Gohan the wolf slayer? The guard will also give the Red Access Card. Enter the room and you will be able to view all the objects that you have scouted along with some event characters like King Cold and Frieza. There is nothing much to do other than head back to the Town Square and look for Piccolo. Talk to Piccolo and you will be able to use him. The following journal entry will be added: ================================================ Journal #13 (Gold) Piccolo must talk to Goku or Mayor about a problem in West City ================================================ Here is Piccolo's initial stats: +-----------------------------------------------------------+ | Piccolo Level 10 HP: 156 END: 46 | | | | STR: 14 EXP: 4350 | | POW: 13 NEXT: 1425 | | END: 12 | +-----------------------------------------------------------+ Head for the Save Circle and switch to Piccolo. Enter the mansion behind the Save Circle and talk to the mayor and the following journal entry will be added. ================================================ Journal #14 (Gold) Save the village from the Triceratops and report back to the Mayor ================================================ Note: You can also get this journal by talking to Goku who is loitering around the entrance of Capsule Corporation. As Piccolo is at low level 10, I would recommend you to train it at West City Highway till he has reached Level 12. Make your way to the south of the town until you find a signboard. Continue to head south. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4.10 Triceratops Jungle ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Move along the pathway and it will reach a gate with a character gate level 10 for Piccolo. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -[Tips from the Author]- While in the jungle, you will encounter a new enemy and they can deal a large amount of damage if you weren't careful. There are 2 solutions. The first one is to use the Endurance Capsule to boost Piccolo's defense. The alternative is to train him at the West City Highway. When facing battles in there, try to keep Piccolo's HP above 50% & you will be fine. Do not bother to conserve your ki energy (also not to waste them) as they are an important factor on how you are going to fight inside the jungle. If you are in need of healing, back track and find boulders to break and pray that they drop healing items or use Senzu Bean/Cookies if you are really in need. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________________________ Enemies: Kuma Mercenary HP: 125 STR: 17 POW: 1 END: 15 Ladybug HP: 29 STR: 1 POW: 7 END: 4 Tiger Bandit B HP: 325 STR: 10 POW: 12 END: 8 _______________________________________________________________ Below is the ASCII map for the jungle. =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= Map 02 Triceratops Jungle =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= [E]-[1]=[4] | | [3]-[2] [5]_ _| | | [7] [8] [6] [E] Entrance [1] Kuma Mercenary [2] Kuma Mercenary x2, Ladybug [3] Kuma Mercenary x3, Golden Capsule [4] Kuma Mercenary x4 [5] Kuma Mercenary x6 [6] Tiger Bandit B, +1 Endurance Capsule [7] Golden Capsule [8] Triceratops Village = Bridge =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= In the first area, you will find a Kuma Mercenary. Defeat those 2 mercenaries and break the nearby boulders to restore your lost health. Head west off there and you will find 3 more Kuma mercenaries and a Golden Capsule in front a wall of rock. Grab it and make your way back to the area where you find the bridge. Cross the bridge this time round and you will battle a Kuma Mercenary along the bridge. On the next area, there are 3 Kuma Mercenaries there. Watch your way there. In the northeast corner of the area, there is a ? character gate for Trunks (purple). Ignore it and head south. There are 4 more Kuma Mercenary in upper part of the area. Defeat them and head south a bit and you will find another Kuma Mercenary. Defeat it and head south. In the next area, there is a purple Tiger Bandit (more HP) but still not too difficult for you to handle. Pick up the +1 Endurance Capsule. Return back to the previous area. Make your way towards left and move across the bridge is that is across the waterfall. Head south to the next area. Move across east along the water-logged pathway and it will allow Piccolo to move under the bridge. At the dead end, you will find another Golden Capsule. Return back to the waterfall. Instead of going up the cliff, there is a hidden path behind the waterfall. Walk past it and you should be able to fight a Kuma Mercenary. Before heading for the village. Make sure Piccolo is at least at level 17 or above. You should be able to access the bridge. Make Piccolo is fully healed before proceeding to the next area. There are a couple of boulders for you to smash. You should find Triceratops roaming around the fields. Take the middle path and talk to the man (Jed) and woman (Judith). There is also a Save Circle just front of them. I recommend you to save your game. By the way, do not stand in the front of those Triceratops or you will get bulldozed by them. You cannot hurt them though... Just continue to head south. There is a Triceratops maze. It is quite a tricky one. But I have solved for you guys. Make your way to the mayor's residence. There will be a cutscene there and you will given another journal entry: ================================================ Journal #15 (Gold) Retrieve the city key and return it to the Mayor. ================================================ Exit the house and you see the man heading south. You might to train Gohan to at least level 29 before heading Dr. Gero's Lab with Trunks (It is good to have a balance party) Make your way towards the entrance of Dr. Gero's Lab. You will find 2 Destroyers here. Defeat both of them and proceed north. You will find the remains of the destroyed lab. Head north again. You will encounter 5 ladybugs here. Defeat and focus your attention on the southwest corner. Break those boulders and west. There is a Level 30 Trunks Gate. Break it. You will find Dr. Gero's Lab. Krillin will enter the lab as well. Enter the room found in the northwest region. There will be some scenes. Head north again and you will end up in the room where the computer is. Exit the room (funny... Krillin says the cave is going to self-destruct and yet there is no countdown meter?) Do not smash them unless you are in need of healing. Once you have lower his HP gauge to 50%, Android 16 will say something. Once the speech is over, you WILL have to fight Android 17 immediately. Those grayish structures can be destroyed for healing items like the normal rocks and boulders by the way. Take the west path. Please note Energy Punch is very useful for the battles here. You will find 3 more Ninja in the trees. Behind the 'wall' made by those structures, you will encounter 2 more Ninjas. Head west again, you could take a breather with a Save Circle and a Golden Capsule. Return back to the previous area. Smash the 'wall' that is formed by the structure and head north. You will encounter 3 Ladybugs, head west again. There is a Warlord's Henchman with some structures around. Smash them and proceed north. You will find 6 more Warlord's Henchman and a Goku Gate. Head eastwards. You will find 3 more Ladybugs for you to swat. Head northeast and try to go extreme right. Head north from the forest. You will find 3rd Missing Namek there. Return back to the area where you find Goku's gate. Exit that area via the southeast exit. In the next area, head east. You will find another Ninja behind the boulder at the southwest of this area. Destroy him and head eastwards, moving across the pond. There are 3 Ninjas (2 of them hiding behind the pillars and one of them behind the tree that is in between). Proceed on towards east. You will find another Ninja near the Golden Capsule. Defeat him and retrieve the Golden Capsule. Make sure Vegeta has at least 75% HP/EP before heading south (the first area of the gate dungeon, you should remember how tough that area was). Once you are done, exit the area and head for the star indicated on the radar. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4.26 Tropical Islands ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The tropical islands is located east off the Southern Continent. Make your way there. You will end up on a Save Circle with a flight pad. Switch to Trunks if Vegeta has already level 35. Get both of them to at least Level 37 before you choose to fight Cell. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= During this event or until you have finished the battles against Nonperfect Cell, Vegeta and Trunks will be transforming to USSJ instead of a normal SSJ. There is a +3 Power Capsule in northeast area. There is another flight pad in the southern corner. Board it to reach the next island. By the way, there is a possibility of the alligators dropping Fish items where you can exchange 3 of them for a Senzu Bean. Just make sure that you have at least 2 of them before you fight Cell. You will fight 2 Ladybugs and 6 Alligators on the shore. Defeat all of them. Trunks Burning Attack is very useful here as it could stun your enemies where you can attack them like easy targets. Board the flight pad in the southeast corner to the next island. This one is tough. 8 Alligators are group together on the right while 4 Saber-Toothed Tigers are on the lower left corner. I would go after the alligators as they are slower and weak against Trunks' Sword Blast attack. Once you have at least 50 END points, this area should be okay for your characters to handle. Head east and you will find 3 Ladybugs block your way destroy them and head west. If you head southwest, there is a Pterodactyl, 2 Alligators along with 4 Sabre-Tooth Tigers The next area, you will find 3 Pterodactyl. They are your prey for healing times. Just return and exit the previous screen. Aim to keep Trunks' or Vegeta's HP at least 200 at all the time while in this dungeon. In the next area, you will find 3 Alligators on the shore. If you have at least 65% of your character's max HP, fight those 5 Sabre-Tooth Tigers in the grasslands. Take the path that is behind the brown tree. The flight pad on the right leads to the Save Circle. (I supposed you want to save your game and make sure you have the best resources... There is another Sabre-Tooth Tiger at the entrance awaiting you. You will have to fight it. Head west, defeat those 2 Saber-Toothed Tiger and collect a Golden Capsule. Head northwest again and you will find 2 more Saber-Toothed Tiger and a Level 30 Vegeta Gate. Make your way east and you meet Reginald to collect a West City Apartments A Access Card. Talk to the Namek and you have rescue the 4th of 7 Missing Nameks! Exit this cliff only when your character's is close to levelling up or have at least 65% of your HP/EP. Do not enter the Level 30 Vegeta gate until you have full HP/EP. Just train to restore HP/EP or defeat enemies to restore HP. Once you are ready, break the gate with Vegeta (for my case, Vegeta is at level 37). Board the flight pad. There will be some talking. Despite when transformed into USSJ (Ultra Super Saiyan-jin for short), Vegeta's speed has reduced tremendously but when increased attacking power and makes him an easy prey for Cell's HP absorption technique (the one that he uses when you fought using Piccolo). He can launch ki blasts and even Goku's Kamehameha! So use your ki blasts to attack him and tried to trap him like you did to other bosses. Big Bang and Energy Punch are very useful for this fight. Smash the nearby boulders to restore HP/EP. The battle will end once his HP at 25%. EXP: 40,000 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= After the match, there will be trash talking and some scenes. Cell has absorbed Android 18 and obtain perfect form. You may want to use Burning Attack to temporarily stun so you could hit him. Just hit him till he has 50% of HP left. There will be so more talking. The battle will continue with Cell back with full HP! Use a Senzu Bean if Trunks' HP has been severely depleted. He will has more HP than the previous battle. Just weaken his HP to 50% again and it will be over. So train him and make your way to the LV40 Goku Gate (Of course, switch to Goku when you reached there. If Goku isn't at level 40, train him against the Eggbots you could encounter outside Android 20 Lab) At the entrance, there is Triceratops guarding behind the gate. The Triceratops attacks like a Warthog. But it is an easy target to battle and a good enemy to battle to level up your characters. I would go for Gohan now as it is a good opportunity to train him as well. There are a total of 6 Triceratops where all of them are behind the gate. Head south to the next are and the sky starts to get darker. You will encounter 6 more Triceratops in the area. Head west from there. You will find a couple of boulders where you can smash for healing items along with a Save Circle. In fact, you can train all 5 characters to level 40 under a hours time (provided your characters at level 35). I would recommend you to do so as this place is indeed an ideal place for training. Once you are prepared, head south. There is a Triceratop in the area. Defeat it and head south. If you head east, you will find a blue T-Rex, which has a whooping 5000+ HP! You will find 2 Pterodacytl flying around this area. Defeat them. If you have at least 50% HP, head west and you will encounter a blue T-Rex with a +3 Strength Capsule. Now head south and you will find 3 Triceratops. Kill them off for healing objects if you are in need of healing. Once you are ready, make sure you have full HP/EN before you confront that Blue T-Rex and retrieve the Dragon Ball 3. Now make your way to the nearest World Map icon. If you have the Golden Capsule after you have gotten 25 gold capsules in exchange it, I suggest you use it if not carry on training and return back to the world map icon. -[4 Star Dragon Ball]- Make your way back to East District 439. Avoid going through the center path as you will be going to handling 4 Ninjas at 1 shot. Instead head west or east off the pillars and try to lure the Ninjas one by one. Examine the orb and it will turn green. If you re-enter the cave, you will fight a Ninja instead. Do this for the west cave as well and lastly the cave in the north. If you do in this order (east, west and north) all the water will be drained) Return back to the dragon heads area and all the water should be drained out by now. Go down the stairs and you will fight 3 Eggbots. Dispatch them and you will find 2 paths. Choose either one of them as you are bound to fight one anyway. It is also accessible after you have defeat Cell. ____________________________________________________________________ Golden Capsule 21 East District 439 Access the Level 30 Vegeta Gate at East District 439. Head north off the screen where find Ninjas and Warlord's Henchman. You will fight some Ladybugs. Head north again and you will find the capsule being surrounded by Ninjas in the area. (Map 11) ____________________________________________________________________ Golden Capsule 22 East District 439 From the entrance off Vegeta's gate, take the west path until you saw huge wall of breakable rocks blocking your way. Destroy them and head west. You will find a Save Circle and the capsule. (Map 11) ____________________________________________________________________ Golden Capsule 23 Tropical Islands It is located on the grasslands guarded by those saber-toothed tigers. It is on the same screen where you find Vegeta's gate. (Map 12) ____________________________________________________________________ Golden Capsule 24 West City Make your way to the Mayor's house. It is located just a screen south off the town square. Enter the house and you will find the capsule near the bookshelf ____________________________________________________________________ Golden Capsule 25 West City You need to get the West City Apartment A Card from Reginald who is located on Tropical Islands (see Map 12 for details). Use the card to access the apartments and head up the stairs. You will find the capsule there. ____________________________________________________________________ That's all for the locations of all 25 capsules! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.3 7 Missing Nameks Locations ----------------------------------------------------------------------- After Vegeta has return back to Earth from space, you will meet a scientist who will give this quest of finding all 7 Missing Nameks who has been scattered to various parts of the world. Upon finding all 7 Nameks, you will be able to access New Namek and battle the game's strongest boss (Cooler) along with Piccolo's LV50 Gate. Once you landed on New Namek, talk to the Namek standing closest to the spaceship and you will be given Grandpa Gohan's Key! Access the house in East District 439 and receive +5 STR, POW and END capsules! ____________________________________________________________________ Missing Namek 01 Kami's Lookout You will find one loitering around the northeast corner of the lookout. Talk to the Namek. ____________________________________________________________________ Missing Namek 02 West City You will find a Missing Namek inside the kitchen of the Mayor's house. You can start to access the Mayor's house once Vegeta has return back to his training from outer space. Talk to the Namek. ____________________________________________________________________ Missing Namek 03 West City Get the West City Apartments B Card from the wooden chest found inside the Mayor's house. Make your way to the apartments and go to the highest floor and you will find the Namek there. Talk to the Namek. ____________________________________________________________________ Missing Namek 04 Northern Mountains Use Piccolo and make your way to the Level 30 Piccolo Gate in this dungeon. Make your way all to the rear and you will find the missing Namek there. Talk to the Namek. (Map 05) ____________________________________________________________________ Missing Namek 05 East District 439 Use Vegeta and access the Level 30 Gate. Head north all the way until you find Goku's Gate. Head eastwards from there and you will fight 3 green Ladybugs. There is a pathway the leads to another area in the eastern most end of the forest. You will find the Namek in the enclosed forest. Talk to the Namek. (Map 11) ____________________________________________________________________ Missing Namek 06 Tropical Islands The Namek is located on the fields patch where you meet Reginald. That area is located just east off Vegeta's LV30 Gate (Map 12) ____________________________________________________________________ Missing Namek 07 Northern Wastelands The missing Namek can be accessed instantly by activating the bridge (the switch requires you use Goku) and access it. ____________________________________________________________________ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.4 Hercule's Optional Quest ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The following quest is optional. But if you want to get the alternate ending the game. I would recommend you to complete this quest if you intend to get a complete ending. Assumptions +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | You have rescued all 7 Missing Nameks and defeat Cooler | | before begining this quest | +-------------------------------------------------------------+ -[Collecting the Character Statues]- Well, you are approaching towards the end of the story and it is time to give your character some training to the maximum level for the game - Level 50. But it is going to take ages as you need to have all 4 characters to train to level 50. I would go for Gohan first since he should be strongest character. To get easy training, head for Northern Mountains and slaughter those Triceratops and blue T-Rex (the place where you get the Dragon Ball 3). They will give you 35,000 and 36,900 respectively. I would suggest fighting Triceratops as a better option as it is easier to handle and they don't that much HP compared to the T-Rex. Just keep on battling and training. It took me roughly 75 minutes to level up from Level 45 to Level 50 per character. Below are the total EXP required to get each character to level 50: Character EXP Required Gohan 22993422 Vegeta 22986946 Trunks 22970870 Piccolo 22996483 -[Gohan's Level 50 Gate Gingertown]- From the Save Circle, go north all the way until you find a Destroyer guarding the gate. Break it. Since you would no longer require EXP when your character at the max level (i.e. LV 50), hence it is logical to switch to another member to head inside the gate. Choose your second strongest character. ___________________________________________________________________ Enemies: Warlord's Henchman B HP: 900 STR: 10 POW: 30 END: 26 Ladybug B HP: 175 STR: 1 POW: 16 END: 11 Eggbot B HP: 525 STR: 35 POW: 41 END: 22 Destroyer HP: 1463 STR: 32 POW: 39 END: 29 Kuma Mercenary B HP: 596 STR: 25 POW: 1 END: 20 Scorpion C HP: 2000 STR: 70 POW: 1 END: 56 Snake D HP: 125 STR: 10 POW: 1 END: 5 Destroyer C HP: 4200 STR: 49 POW: 44 END: 43 ___________________________________________________________________ =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= Map 20 Gingertown Outskirts =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= [A3] | [A2] [13] | | [05] [A1] [11]-[12] | | | | | _[06] [04]-[03] [10] *L [07] | | | | [02]-[01] [09]-[08]_| | [WH] [WH] West City Highway [01] Flight Pad [02] Save Circle [03] Kuma Mercenary B x5, Ladybug B [04] Eggbot B x4 [05] Kuma Mercenary B x4 [06] Time Machine, Save Circle [07] Kuma Mercenary B x2 [08] Eggbot B x4 [09] Warlord's Henchmen B x4 [10] Eggbot B [11] Kuma Mercenary B [12] Destroyer [13] Structure [A1] Kuma Mercenary B x3 [A2] Gohan LV50 Gate, Eggbot B [A3] Scorpion C x3 [A4] Snake D x2 [A5] Snake D x2 [A6] Snake D x2, Destroyer C *L Lake =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= In your way, it is a yellow Scorpion but beware as it has 2000 HP for a small bug creature. You will fight 3 of these. At the ending path, there is an exit. Proceed north to move on. You will fight 2 red snakes (they got 125 HP but offer 17,355 EXP each!) Proceed north again. You will fight 2 more snakes. There is a pathway behind the trees on the right that lead a +5 Endurance Capsule. Proceed west and you will fight 2 more red snakes along with a golden Destroyer! It will give you 58900 EXP for defeating it! Despite some of the enemies offering more exp than the Triceratops, it will be better to fight those dumb (yup, I have to say the computer AI of those enemies are extremely weak) Triceratops and you can get EXP easier and faster. Pick up the statue and you will have Gohan's Trophy added to the atrium stands. -[Vegeta's Gate - Northern Mountains]- Make your way to place where the barrier gate was. Head 3 screens left and you will find Vegeta's LV 50 Gate. Toss the 5 Tiger Bandits (purple) aside. Break it with Vegeta. (If you want to give training for another character, go to the nearest save point to switch your character. I would go for Trunks. ___________________________________________________________________ Enemies: Tiger Bandit B HP: 325 STR: 10 POW: 12 END: 8 Eggbot HP: 250 STR: 19 POW: 25 END: 18 Ladybug B HP: 175 STR: 1 POW: 16 END: 11 Warlord's Henchman HP: 90 STR: 2 POW: 8 END: 6 Destroyer C HP: 4200 STR: 49 POW: 44 END: 43 ___________________________________________________________________ =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= Map 21 Northern Mountains =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= [24] | [12] [22]-[23] | | [10] [11] [V1] [21] | | | | [09]-[07]-[05]-[04] [20] [16] [19] | | | | | | [08] | [03]-[02]-[13]-[14]-[15] [18] [06] | | | [01] [17] | Map 15 [01] Save Circle [02] Eggbot x6 [03] Eggbot x3 [04] Golden Capsule, Warlord's Henchman x3 [05] 5 Tiger Bandit B, LV50 Vegeta Gate [06] 5x Tiger Bandit B [07] Eggbot x8 [08] Hut, Save Circle [09] Snake B x3, Warthog x7 [10] Eggbot x5, Golden Capsule* [11] Pathway to Vinnie's House [12] Vinne's House (Generator #1) [13] Generator #2 [14] Warlord's Henchman x8 [15] Eggbot x8 [16] Eggbots x8, Golden Capsule* [17] Eggbots x6, Ladybug B x4, Hot Springs [18] Tiger Bandit x4, Eggbot x2, Golden Capsule* [19] Generator 3 [20] Destroyer [21] Empty Area [22] Ladybug B x5, Trunks LV30 Gate [23] Save Circle [24] Dr. Gero's Lab [V1] Destroyer C x2, Vegeta's Trophy * The Golden Capsules will be there if you haven't gotten it earlier. =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= You will fight 2 golden Destroyers in this area. Now make your way there. You will find 3 more Eggbots along with Trunks' Trophy! Defeat them with Special Beam Cannon and retrieve the trophy. Exit the area. -[Piccolo LV50 Gate - New Namek]- Just simply make your way to the Capsule Corporation. Make your way to the spaceship and board it. On the New Namek, return back to the cave where you fought Cooler previously. Head north again and you will find the Level 50 Piccolo Gate. Destroy and you will find Piccolo's Trophy inside. Hopefully that you conserve some attributes capsule and give it to Hercule to boost his stats. You will find him at Goku's slot. It is funny to see Hercule fly (except he uses a rocket pack) Now there is one last goal. Train him to level 50 (*blinks*). Remember I have stated at the end of the walkthrough that all the weaker enemies offers a minimum of 14,000 each? You need to use the victory pose attack very often so to protect Hercule from oppositions attack. To level up easier, go to Northern Mountains and battle those *dumb* triceratops. If your HP is low, do not hestiate to use a Senzu Bean. Once Hercule has reached level 50, procceed to the ZZTV Building at West City where you will find his level 50 gate. Enter it to access the game's alternate ending! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 10.0 Credits and Acknowledgements -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 1. A very special thanks to GameFAQs for hosting my FAQs since 1998 2. My sister for allowing me to use her GBA and Game Cube's Gameboy Player. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Frequently Asked Questions ----------------------------------------------------------------------- [Q1] How I get Fish for Korin's Senzu Beans? [A1] To get fish, you need to defeat enemies found near watery areas. The enemies found in Tropical Islands have a higher rate of dropping fish compared to the Warlord's Henchman at Northern Mountains. You can only get 3 of them most at one time. Once you got all 3, talk to Korin and he will give you a Senzu Bean. Like the fish, you can only hold a maximum of 3 items. [Q2] To gain levels faster? [A2] Unfortunately, this game does not have equipment that boosts the levelling process. You can get 35,000 exp by battling those Triceratops (you need Goku to access the gate) found in Northern Mountains. Once you finish the game, all the lower class enemies (i.e. enemies offer lower than 14,028 exp) will offer 14,028 exp. It will take you around 5 hours to level up all 6 characters. That is no other ways unless you use a cheat device... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Contact Information ----------------------------------------------------------------------- You can contact me via my e-mail at: vaynard_x11x (at) yahoo (dot) com Please kindly include DBZ: Legacy of Goku II (DBZ: LOG2) as your subject.
